  • perforce connect history of two different files

    Hi everyone! I have a problem, in a refactoring attempt I have copied files from one place to another and added them in my scm (perforce). When I was done and everything was working I deleted the old (moved) files. Can I connect the file histories with each other? The best would be to se the "move" like it should have been done..     If I have a routine that can throw an ArgumentException in two places, something like... if (Var1 == null) { throw new ArgumentException ("Var1 is null, this cannot be!"); } if (Val2 == null) { throw new ArgumentException ("Var2 is null, this cannot be either!"); } What’s the best way of determining in my calling procedure which of the two exceptions was thrown? Or Am I doing this in the wrong fashion?

    I'm using Alberto Santini's solution to this question to get a spiral grid reference based on an items index Algorithm for iterating over an outward spiral on a discrete 2D grid from the origin It's not the accepted solution, but it's the best for my needs as it avoids using a loop. It's working well, but what I want now is to do the inverse. Based on a known x and y coordinate return the index of a location. This is as a precursor to returning the items surrounding a given location.

    Hello, In ASP.NET MVC, we don't have controls which can do stuffs such as autocompletion (we don't have controls at all from Visual Studio like in web forms). But, Is it possible to still get 'Auto-completion' with a text box in ASP.NET MVC (like with the textbox found on the Google's Home page)? If this is the case, what's the best way to do so? JQueryUI? or there's someother way of getting that functionality? Thanks for helping.

    I would like to create a copy of a database with approximately 40 InnoDB tables and around 1.5GB of data with mysqldump and MySQL 5.1. What are the best parameters (ie: --single-transaction) that will result in the quickest dump and load of the data? As well, when loading the data into the second DB, is it quicker to: 1) pipe the results directly to the second MySQL server instance and use the --compress option or 2) load it from a text file (ie: mysql < my_sql_dump.sql)

    What is the best way to break up a recursive function that is using a ton of resources For example: function do_a_lot(){ //a lot of code and processing is done here //it takes a lot of execution time if($true){ //if true we have to do all of that processing again do_a_lot(); } } Is there anyway to make the server only have to take the brunt of the first execution and then break up the recursion into separate processes? Or am I dreaming?

Table A has following columns: id name description Table B has the following columns: id a_id(foreign key to Table A) ip_address date Basically Table B contains a row for each time a user views a row from Table A. My question is how do I sort Table A results, based on the number of matching rows in Table B. i.e SELECT * FROM TableA ORDER BY (SELECT COUNT(*) FROM TableB where TableB.a_id = TableA.id) Thank you!

    Hi, I'm trying to deploy a Word Template solution that uses VSTO with VS2010. Everything goes well until I try to move the template file away from the folder that has the assemblies (then I get a "failed to customization error"). What is the best way to make sure that file knows where the assemblies are? Should I update the _AssemplyLocation property programatically or is there another way to do this? Thanks.
