• How to track my flash video player embed on other sites

  Setup: an online tv channel with "youtube" like clips and categories our own flash video player which can be embeded into other remote sites as2 flash player Goal: To track who's embeding my videos, at least with basic statistics per domain. Since it's AS2, it's harder to do this. My ideea is that I can create a php page which should be opened each time the player loads on any website; than the flash player can do a "geturl" of the php file which has Google Analytics code or some other decent tracker. The geturl command could contain a variable like the Video Title which already is included in the player; and this title would pass on with GET to the php file and setup a dynamic page title which can be tracked very well. Problem: how to i use the GETURL function without have user's browser open a new tab or window. Is there any hidden way to do it?

• Removing all CALayer's sublayers

  Hi. I have trouble with deleting all layer's sublayers. I do this manually, but it's unwanted code clutter. I found many topics about this in google, but no answer. I tried to do something like this: for(CALayer *layer in rootLayer.sublayers) { [layer removeFromSublayer]; } but it didn't work. Also, i tried to clone rootLayer.sublayers into separate NSArray, but result was the same. Any ideas? regards, radex PS. sorry for my English. Edit: I thought it works now, but I was wrong. It works good with CALayers, but it doesn't work with CATextLayers. Any ideas?

  When working with MVP in GWT how would you work with a table? For example if you had a table of users does your view look like this? public interface MyDisplay{ HasValue<User> users(); } or would it be more like this? public interface MyDisplay{ HasValue<TableRow> rows(); } MVP makes a ton of sense until you start dealing with widgets that need to display lists of non-primitive data. • Jface's CheckboxTreeViewer how to set initial selection

  Hello. This question may sounds trivial, but i am struggling with the issue, so, please help if u can. So, here it is : i am using a CheckboxTreeViewer for some good reasons. I've google-it for some class usages, and i am currently able to check/uncheck all the childrens of a selected node, and to preserve the selection after a live search with a custom implementation of the StyledCellLabelProvider provider. All good so far. However, so far i am unable to programatically select one or more elements of the tree viewer after i display the widget and call the setInput() method of the viewer. So, let's assume for instance that the tree will have 10 main nodes, and 5 leafs on node 6. My question is how do i set the checked state of the 3rd leaf? Thank u.

  Hi All. I'm trying to run an application on Red5 server. It has the same basic functionality as the bundled demo named OFLADemo. So I installed Red5 and was able to see the welcome screen. I installed an app and tried the demo flash and all went well... But when I tried to install that particular application from /installer I got stuck with a dialog box with this message: installing oflaDemo-r3989-java6.war This may take a couple minutes, please wait. Waited for hours instead of minutes, but nothing happened. I was able to get that specific file from google code, but I don't know where to extract/place it. Any clues?

• Getting Unexpected '<' in simple less than greater than comparison

  I feel very very very silly posting this, but I can't find the answer. I've searched google and here. // originally values in a multi dimensional array, but used simple values // to rule out errors. $somenumber = 1; $anotherone=5; if ($somenumber < $res->shares < $anotherone ) { blah } Get the error: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '<' Seems pretty simple and straight forward. Is there some weird thing that you can't compare multiple values? Do I have to explicitly type? It works in Perl. Which of course means that it has to work like this in everything else. ;)

  I just started working on an application that is build on the Struts2 framework. I am coming from a .Net application with lot of Ajax features like dimming the rest of the site and show dialog box 'please wait while X is happening' ...auto complete and such other ajax features. I searched google for Ajax plugins for Struts2 but did not find anything that looks like it would be worth it. Is my only option to use jquery and its plugins? Is this a pattern that some of you have seen also? Hopefully Java applications are not dead soon because of its inability to cope with ajax...compared to .Net

  Hi! In our SaaSy webapp we need to collect Google Analytics-like data (like, what pages were visited, how many 404s where there, etc.). I wonder if there are any best practices on what pieces of information should be collected (like, IP, User Agent, etc.) and how should these logs be stored.   I'm working on a couple of mac products, and in order to do what I need to do, I'm using some calls to undocumented methods on Mac Classes. Like IKImageView's doRotate:(id) and PDFDocument's (NSPrintOperation *)getPrintOperationForPrintInfo:(NSPrintInfo *)printInfo autoRotate:(BOOL)doRotate; How common is it for Objective C programmers to use methods like this? How do you find out about them (other than Google)? How dangerous is it to use them? Is there a danger other than that Apple will make them no-longer available in some future rev, and so your program will break?

• Integrating Fedex and UPS into Rails Apps

  I'm working on integrating a shipping solution into a Rails ecommerce app. We're only going to use one shipping provider. So the question is: Fedex or UPS? I'm wondering what Rails developers think about the tech side of this question. What do you think about the APIs, ease of integration, focus on developer's needs between Fedex and UPS? I was leaning towards Fedex, but from looking at the developers resources sections of both sites, it seems that UPS might be more developer friendly. Also, I'm going to be using Shopify's active_shipping gem: http://github.com/Shopify/active_shipping And I also based my app off the Spree Ecommerce solution, but I don't think that's particularly relevant to the question. Spree wrote a wrapper to integrate active_shipping with the Spree system. I gave away all my points, so SO wont' let me post another link in this question. All examples i could google always generate the key themselves, but I already have a key. I have tried keytool -import -keystore ./broker.ks -file mycert.crt but this only imports the certificate and not the key file and results in 2009-05-25 13:16:24,270 [localhost:61612] ERROR TransportConnector - Could not accept connection : No available certificate or key corresponds to the SSL cipher suites which are enabled. I have tried concatenating the cert and the key but got the same result How do I import the key?

It could be that I'm tired, or that there's really no way (google didn't help), but... if you have a list in python, and want to extract element at indices say 1, 2 and 5 into a new list, how do you do ? This is how I did it, but I'm not very satisfied >>> a [10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15] >>> [x[1] for x in enumerate(a) if x[0] in [1,2,5]] [11, 12, 15] any better way ? more in general, given a tuple with indices, how to use this tuple to extract the corresponding elements from a list, eventually with duplication (e.g. tuple (1,1,2,1,5) produces [11,11,12,11,15] )

• Socksifying a Java ServerSocket - how to approach

  I would like to have a Java program running on network A have a ServerSocket living on another network B through a proxy. I have played with a SOCKS5 proxy (which works) but it appears that all the proxy facilities in Java only work with client connections, not with ServerSockets (no constructor taking a Proxy argument). Asking Google gives much hay and few needles. What is the approach I should take to get this running? If a specific client is better than a generic SOCKS or web proxy then fine, but it needs to be Java (that leaves sshd out). Target JVM is preferrably Java 5, and then Java 6.

  I've decided that as a pet project meant for learning, I would create a new Eclipse plug-in that, for a given class, takes all private member names and adds a prefix to their name (it doesn't matter to me if it can already be done or not, this is meant to be a learning experience). I have never developed an Eclipse plug-in and I'm not sure where to begin. Do I need to install some application for this development? How does it work? Where do I begin? I did a Google search but all the tutorials and results I found were old and referred to antiquated versions of Eclipse, so I'm not sure if they're still accurate.

• Loop through text nodes inside a div

  I am trying to do a text replace, but to do so, i need to loop through the text nodes of a div. Each Div upon clicking, loads via ajax it's appropriate content. But then I need to do text-replacing inside any of the text nodes inside there. My current code, after loading the ajax content, loops through all text nodes of the whole page, and therefore is too resource intensive. I have been looking for hours trying to find out how to both loop thru a div, and get the text nodes... and this has to work in firefox, google chrome and ie6. Any thoughts or suggestions?

  I upgraded to Visual Studio 2010 RC, and I remember filling one big form for MSDN help improvement campaign and I was wondering I will get to see a Help Viewer like MSDN included in Visual Studio 2008, which included One Program (Not IE), Index and the way to view preferred language setting. Google results shows that there were headlines that Microsoft Help Viewer released for 2010 RC, but where is it? is it the same one which opens in IE and has absolute difficult way to view it? Current MSDN opening in IE is so inconvenient, there is no index, there is no grouping of content, like I typed search for TextBox and it showed up for ASP.NET, WinForms and I got lost to find out the reference in multiple pages for search results.

• IE HTTPS Ajax request image not showing up

  Hi: In IE (7 or 8) and HTTPS mode, following RESPONSE is delivered for an AJAX request. My issue is the img was NOT requested at all by IE (figured out using Fiddler), broken img is shown instead. It all works perfectly in HTTP mode in IE and other browsers no problem rendering in both mode (please don't tell me not to use IE). Any thoughts/work-arounds/suggestions? • Ruby email_veracity_checker getting Recipient OK for invalid emails

  I was testing out email_veracity_checker from rails console and found that when I tested a google apps domain (w/ catchall), yahoo and another company domain, the smtp server always returned 250 recipient ok for invalid emails (wellformed, but bogus). It seems that these servers are always returning OK perhaps to prevent email harvesting. But it does seem to raise the question 'why even validate up-front', is this approach even valid in today's environment? Note: gmail did return 550 email account doesn't exist for invalid. related to How check if an email exist without send in Ruby? Use of email_veracity_checker send-in-ruby-use-of-email-veracity-checker I appreciate your thoughts.

Which one do you think is best for starting to do real world coding the fastest? I really think coding from your browser will make programming more accessible to the public.   I know both ie and firefox have limits for javascript execution here: hxxp://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=175500 Based on number of statements executed, I heard it was 5 million somewhere in ie hxxp://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:_iKHhdfpN-MJ:kb.mozillazine.org/Dom.max_script_run_time+dom.max_script_run_time&hl=en&gl=ca&strip=1 (google cache since site takes forever to load for me) based on number of seconds in firefox, it's 10 seconds by default for my version The thing I don't get is what cases will go over these limits: I'm sure a giant loop will go over the limit for execution time But will an event hander go over the limit, if itself it's execution time is under the limit but if it occurs multiple times? Example: Lets say I have a timer on my page, that executes some javascript every 20 seconds. The execution time for the timer handler is 1 second. Does firefox and ie treat each call of the timer function seperatly, so it never goes over the limit, or is it that firefox/ie adds up the time of each call so after the handler finishes, so after 200 seconds on my site (with the timer called 10 times) an error occurs even though the timer handler itself is only 1 second long?

• DB2 Transaction log is full. How to flush / clear it?

  Hi, I’m working on a experiment regarding to a course I’m taking about tuning DB2. I’m using the EC2 from Amazon (aws) to conduct the experiment. My problem is, however, that I have to test a non-compression against row-compression in DB2 and to do that I’ve created a bsh file that run those experiments. But when I reach to my compression part I get the error ”Transaction log is full”; and no matter how low I set the inserts for it is complaining about my transaction log. I’ve scouted Google for a day now trying to find some way to flush / clear the log or just get rit of it, i don’t need it. I’ve tried to increase the size but nothing has helped. Please, I hope someone has an answer to solve this frustrating problem Thanks - Mestika
