    Hi All WordPress Lovers, I would like to ask a help about Zensor which is a plugin that you publish a post then a moderator approves the post to be published on the wordpress blog site. When a post is awating for approval, each awaiting post is appearing "waiting moderation". But, I dont want any link appears before moderator approval.   • Update all table rows but top N in Mysql

    I was trying to run the following query UPDATE blog_post SET `thumbnail_present`=0, `thumbnail_size`=0, `thumbnail_data`='' WHERE `blog_post` NOT IN ( SELECT `blog_post` FROM blog_post ORDER BY `blog_post` DESC LIMIT 10) But Mysql doesn't allow 'LIMIT' in an 'IN' subquery. I think I can make a select to count the table rows and then make an ordered update limited by 'COUNT - 10', but I was wondering if there is a better way. Thanks in advance.

  • allowing bb code but not java script

    Hello im trying to get the hang of using bb codes onto my normal php site ( not forum or anything just a normal site ) I have seen a few posts like this one http://www.pixel2life.com/forums/index.php?/topic/10659-php-bbcode-parser/ which says i need a bb parser. I was just wondering can anyone show me how i would use one ? I have a status box were users can update there status but i would like to allow bb codes but not java script. So when im doing my inserting into the db i strip the status like so.. $status= mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['status']); $status2= strip_tags($status); And that stops the java script and tags from getting though but i need the bb code tags to come though but carry on blocking the java script code is there anyway to do this ? Also then i just echo it out echo $status2 ; But just plain text shows so was just wondering if anyone knows how to let though bb code and stop java script and could some one show me how to use the bb parasher ? also need to know how to echo out the bb coding...

  • MySQLi String comparisons using keys

    I have a table with lets say 2 columns. id number, and value. Value is a string (var char). Lets say i have a number x, and a list of numbers a1, a2, a3, a4, a5..... where x is not in the list. All of these numbers correspond to a unique row in the table. I want to know if the string value for x in the table is contained in one of the string values for any table entry for a1, a2, a3, a4... Lets say i have these rows: x, aaa a1, bbb a2, ccc a3, ddd a4, aaabbbcc then i want somehow a confirmation that yes, the value for x is included in one of the values in my list of numbers (a4 contains x). I know i can do this in a couple queries and shove it down some PHP and get my answer. But can i do this with one query?

  • Help me choose between XML or SQL Lite on android

    I have an android app that periodically, say once a week downloads content from a server in XML. The content is used by the app, different Acitivities use different parts of the content. My question is a design one, should I save the data in SQlite or just keep it as an XML file, which one would be faster to read? The app can only use one content piece at a time, which means subsequent XML content downloads replace the old one.

  • How can I find all records for a model without doing a long list of "OR" conditions?

    I'm having trouble composing a CakePHP find() which returns the records I'm looking for. My associations go like this: User -(has many)- Friends , User -(has many)- Posts I'm trying to display a list of all a user's friends recent posts, in other words, list every post that was created by a friend of the current user logged in. The only way I can think of doing this is by putting all the user's friends' user_ids in a big array, and then looping through each one, so that the find() call would look something like: $posts = $this->Post->find('all',array( 'conditions' => array( 'Post.user_id' => array( 'OR' => array( $user_id_array[0],$user_id_array[1],$user_id_array[2] # .. etc ) ) ) )); I get the impression this isn't the best way of doing things as if that user is popular that's a lot of OR conditions. Can anyone suggest a better alternative?

    For those of you who live and breath database design, have you ever found compelling reasons to have multiple FK's in a table that all point to the same parent table? We recently had to deal with a situation where we had a table that contained six columns which were all FK columns to the same parent table. We're debating whether this indicates a poor design on our part or whether this is more common than we think. Thanks very much.

  • INSERT 0..n records into table 'A' based on content of table 'B' in MySql 5

    Using MySql 5, I have a task where I need to update one table based on the contents of another table. For example, I need to add 'A1' to table 'A' if table 'B' contains 'B1'. I need to add 'A2a' and 'A2b' to table 'A' if table 'B' contains 'B2', etc.. In our case, the value in table 'B' we're interested is an enum. Right now I have a stored procedure containing a series of statements like: INSERT INTO A SELECT 'A1' FROM B WHERE B.Value = 'B1'; --Repeat for 'B2' -> 'A2a'; 'B2' -> 'A2b'; 'B3' -> 'A3', etc... Is there a nicer more DRY way of accomplishing this? Edit: There may be values in table 'B' that have no equivalent value for table 'A'.

    I'm trying to have rails send the contents of my database to an external textfile. I wanted this done everytime a new user is created. However, when i try to do the following in my user.rb model file, before_save :write_data def write_data() File.open("data.txt", "w") do |myfile| myfile.write(User.all) end end It doesn't write the actual contents of the database, instead, it displays something like this User:0x109858540 Can anyone help? However, I would like to also save the identical data to a second archive table.   • oracle call stored procedure inside select

    Hi everybody. I'm working on a query (a SELECT) and I need to insert the result of this one in a table. Before doing the insert I have some checking to do, and if all columns are valid, I will do the insert. The checking is done in a stored procedure. The same procedure is used somewhere else too. So I'm thinking using the same procedure to do my checks. The procedure does the checkings and insert the values is all OK. I tryied to call the procedure inside my SELECT but it does not works. SELECT field1, field2, myproc(field1, field2) from MYTABLE. This kind of code does not works. I think it can be done using a cursor, but I would like to avoid the cursors. I'm looking for the easiest solution. Anybody, any idea ? Thanks alot. C.C.

  • Performance optimization for mssql: decrease stored procedures execution time or unload the server?

    Hello everybody! We have a web service which provides search over hotels. There is a problem with performance: a single request to the service takes around 5000 ms. Almost all of the time is spent in database by executing storing procedures. During the request our server (mssql2008) consumes ~90% of the processor time. When 2 requests are made in parallel the average time grows and is around 7000 ms. When number of request is increasing, the average time of response is increasing as well. We have 20-30 requests per minute. Which kind of optimization is the best in this case having in mind that the goal is to provide stable response time for the service: 1) Try to decrease the stored procedures execution time 2) Try to find the way how to unload the server It is interesting to hear from people who deal with booking sites.   • How to research unmanaged memory leaks in .NET?

    I have a WCF service running over MSMQ. Memory gradually increases over time, indicating that there is some sort of memory leak. I ran the service locally and monitored some counters using PerfMon. Total CLR memory managed heap bytes remains relatively constant, while the process' private bytes increases over time. This leads me to believe that there is some sort of unmanaged memory leak. Assuming that unmanaged memory leak is the issue, how do I address the issue? Are there any tools I could use to give me hints as to what is causing the unmanaged memory leak? Also, all my service is doing is reading from the transactional queue and writing to a database, all as part of a DTC transaction (handled under the hood by requiring a transaction on the service contract). I am not doing anything explicitly with COM or DllImports. Thanks in advance!

  • Indexing affects only the WHERE clause?

    If I have something like: CREATE INDEX idx_myTable_field_x ON myTable USING btree (field_x); SELECT COUNT(field_x), field_x FROM myTable GROUP BY field_x ORDER BY field_x; Imagine myTable with around 500,000 rows and most of field_x values being unique. Since I don't use any WHERE clause, will the created index have any effect at all in my query? Edit: I'm asking this question because I don't get any relevant difference between query-times before and after creating the index; They always take about 8 seconds (which, of course is too much time!). Is this behaviour expected?
