• iSCSI Disconnects every 30 minutes

  Every 30 minutes, almost by clockwork, a get the following error on my Windows 2008 R2 servers: Log Name: System Source: MSiSCSI Event ID: 113 Level: Warning Description: iSCSI discovery via SendTargets failed with error code 0xefff0003 to target portal *10.2.62.3 0003260 B06BDRV\L4SC&PCI_163A14E4&SUBSYS_045F1028&REV_20\5&cabe3b7&0&30050200_0 I have 12 identically built servers connected to this iSCSI network and they are all seeing this issue. I've updated drivers and firmware levels without any change. Any other obvious things I should try before engaging my network team and the vendors.

• Why will this code compile using ifort compiler and not when using gfortran compiler? Help!

  I'm rewriting some code to make a program compile with the gfortran compiler as opposed to ifort compiler I usually use. The code follows: _Subroutine SlideBits (WORD, BITS, ADDR) Implicit None Integer(4) WORD Integer(4) BITS Integer(4) ADDR Integer(4) ADDR1 ADDR1 = 32 - ADDR WORD = (WORD .And. (.Not.ISHFT(1,ADDR1))) .Or. ISHFT(BITS,ADDR1) End_ When I compile the above code using the gfortran compiler, I recieve this error: WORD = (WORD .And. (.Not.ISHFT(1,ADDR1))) .Or. ISHFT(BITS,ADDR1) Error: Operand of .NOT. operator at (1) is INTEGER(4) All three of the variables coming into the subroutine are integers. I've looked around a bit and the gfortran wiki states that the gfortran compiler should be able to handle logical statments being applied to integer values. Several other sites I've visited either quote from the gnu wiki or agree with it. This is the first time I've seen this error as the Intel Fortran compiler (ifort) I normally use compiles cleanly.

• SQL Server 2008 - cannot register default instance MSSQLSERVER

  Hello, I have installed SQL Server 2008 Developer on Windows 7 64 bit. In Management Studio I cannot register the default instance MSSQLSERVER, it cannot find it although the service is running. I get the message: Cannot connect to PHOENIX\MSSQLSERVER. A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 25 - Connection string is not valid) (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 87) However Management Studio does show the SQL Server 2005 Express instance (that was installed with VS 2008 Pro) which appeared as already registered. I an using Windows Authentication as I installed it in mixed mode. Any ideas would be appreciated, many thanks paul

• Unit testing UDP socket handling code

  Are there any 'good' ways to cause a thread waiting on a recvfrom() call to become unblocked and return with an error? The motivation for this is to write unit tests for a system which includes a unit that reads UDP datagrams. One of the branches handles errors on the recvfrom call itself. The code isn't required to distinguish between different types of errors, it just has to set a flag. I've thought of closing the socket from another thread, or do a shutdown on it, to cause recvfrom to return with an error, but this seems a bit heavy handed. I've seen mention elsewhere that sending an over-sized packet would do it, and so set up an experiment where a 16K buffer was sent to a recvfrom waiting for just 4K, but that didn't result in an error. The recvfrom just return 4096, to indicate it had gotten that many bytes.

• Django + WebKit = Broken pipe

  I'm running the Django 1.2 development server and I get these Broken Pipe error messages whenever I load a page from it with Chrome or Safari. My co-worker is getting the error as well when he loads a page from his dev server. We don't have these errors when using Opera or Firefox. • Replication - User defined table type not propogating to subscriber

  I created a User defined table type named tvp_Shipment with two columns (id and name) . generated a snapshot and the User defined table type was properly propogated to all the subscribers. I was using this tvp in a stored procedure and everything worked fine. Then I wanted to add one more column created_date to this table valued parameter.I dropped the stored procedure (from replication too) and also i dropped and recreated the User defined table type with 3 columns and then recreated the stored procedure and enabled it for publication When i generate a new snapshot, the changes in user defined table type are not propogated to the subscriber. The newly added column was not added to the subscription. the Error messages: The schema script 'usp_InsertAirSa95c0e23_218.sch' could not be propagated to the subscriber.   I’m getting an HttpRequestValidationexception with this error message: “A potentially dangerous Request.Form value was detected from the client”. But I have AllowHtml on the property that I’m getting the error. The problem is that later in my code I’m getting the following property to know in witch format I will show my view ControllerContext.HttpContext.Request.Params.AllKeys.Contains("format"). And on this “Param Getter” I’m getting the error. Three pieces: store procedure, table1, table2 Table 1 stores most recent data for specific IDs Customer_id status_dte status_cde app_dte 001 2010-04-19 Y 2010-04-19 Table 2 stores history of data for specific customer IDs: For example: Log_id customer_Id status_dte status_cde 01 001 2010-04-20 N 02 001 2010-04-19 Y 03 001 2010-04-19 N 04 001 2010-04-19 Y The stored proecure currently throws an error if the status date from table1 is < than app_date in table1. If @status_dte < app_date Error Note: @status_dte is a variable stored as the status_dte from table1 However, I want it to throw an error when the EARLIEST status_dte from table 2 with a status_cde of 'Y' is less than the app_dte column in table 1. Keep in mind that this earliest date is not stored anywhere, the history of data changes per customer. Another customer might have the following history. Log_id customer_Id status_dte status_cde 01 002 2010-04-20 N 02 002 2010-04-18 N 03 002 2010-04-19 Y 04 002 2010-04-19 Y Any ideas on how I can approach this?

• How to test Calendar Event on emulator?

  Hi everybody, I am developing an application which requires to add Calendar event. I have written the code for inserting event to the calendar. But whenever i run my application, everytime i get error that "Fail to find provider info for Calendar" and it also throws me NullPointerException error. So, what it means and i found that emulator doesn't provide Calendar application in-built. I think if the Android Emulator doesn't have Calender API, so, naturally, it will not have any database URI in the emulator whereas the Contact has URI --"content://contacts/people". I also found the URI for Calendar as "content://calendar/calendars" but it doesn't work and it means that it gives me error cause of missing Calendar application. Can anybody clarify me, with suggestions regarding Calendar Event? Which is the way to test my application with Calendar Event? I really need your help. Please needful for the same. Thanks. • Catching constraint violations in JPA 2.0.

  Consider the following entity class, used with, for example, EclipseLink 2.0.2 - where the link attribute is not the primary key, but unique nontheless. @Entity public class Profile { @Id private Long id; @Column(unique = true) private String link; // Some more attributes and getter and setter methods } When I insert records with a duplicate value for the link attribute, EclipseLink does not throw a EntityExistsException, but throws a DatabaseException, with the message explaining that the unique constraint was violated. This doesn't seem very usefull, as there would not be a simple, database independent, way to catch this exception. What would be the advised way to deal with this? A few things that I have considered are: Checking the error code on the DatabaseException - I fear that this error code, though, is the native error code for the database; Checking the existence of a Profile with the specific value for link beforehand - this obviously would result in an enormous amount of superfluous queries.

I am trying to wrap an environment created with \NewEnviron (package 'environ') into an old good \newenvironment: \NewEnviron{test}{\colorbox[gray]{0.7}{\BODY}} \newenvironment{wrapper}{\begin{test}}{\end{test}} \begin{wrapper} debug me \end{wrapper} However, this gives me a strange error: LaTeX Error: \begin{test} on input line 15 ended by \end{wrapper}. LaTeX Error: \begin{wrapper} on input line 15 ended by \end{document}. If I replace \NewEnviron{test}{aaa(\BODY)bbb} with \newenvironment{test}{aaa(}{)bbb} — everything works as expected! It seems like \NewEnviron fails to find its end for some reason. I'm trying to do some magic with 'floatfig' wrapped into a \colorbox so I need a way to convert \colorbox to an environment and wrap it into another one. I can define a new command but it's not a very good idea. Thanks in advance!

• Strange/simple batch question regarding Java/Ant

  For my company, I'm making a batch script to go through and compile the latest revisions of code for our current project. I'm using Ant to build the class files, but encountered a strange error. One of the source files imports .* from a directory, where there are no files (only folders), and in fact, the folders needed are imported right after. It compiles perfectly fine in Eclipse, but I'm using an Ant script to automate it outside of the IDE, and Javac throws an error when it encounters this line. Is there any automated procedure I can use to ignore/suppress this error with javac in Ant? I'd even go so far as to create a dummy file in the importing directory, but all of that in contained in a Jar file I don't wish to have to decompress and then recompress with the dummy file. • C# ASP.Net The type or namespace name 'iAnywhere' could not be found

  Morning all, I know that this sounds like a simple referencing problem from the title this is becoming a nightmare! I have a code class that uses the "iAnywhere.Data.AsaClient.dll". This Dll is referenced in the project and in the code class I have added this dll in the Using section. Everything seems fine at build with no errors at all but when I go to run the application it comes up with the following Compilation Error: Compiler Error Message: CS0246: The type or namespace name 'iAnywhere' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) The line that the Error points to this line in the class: using iAnywhere.Data.AsaClient; I have set the dll to copy local and it makes no difference, the Dll is installed on my PC so is in the GAC, I use this Dll with many other C# projects and have no problems. I have scoured Google looking for an answer and haven't found anything that points me to an answer to my problem. Any help would be brilliant!
