  • Optimal template for change content via XMLHTTPRequest with JQuery,PHP,SQL [closed]

    - by B.F.
    This is my method to handle XMLHTTPRequests. Avoids mysql request, foreign access, nerves user, double requests. jquery var allow=true; var is_loaded=""; $(document).ready(function(){ .... $(".xx").on("click",functio(){ if(allow){ allow=false; if(is_loaded!="that"){ $.post("job.php", {job:"that",word:"aaa",number:"123"},function(data){ $(".aaa").html(data); is_loaded="that"; }); } setTimeout(function(){allow=true},500); } .... }); job.php <?PHP ob_start('ob_gzhandler'); if(!isset($_SERVER['HTTP_X_REQUESTED_WITH']) or strtolower($_SERVER['HTTP_X_REQUESTED_WITH']) != 'xmlhttprequest')exit("bad boy!"); if($_POST['job']=="that"){ include "includes/that.inc; } elseif($_POST['job']== .... ob_end_flush(); ?> that.inc if(!preg_match("/\w/",$_POST['word'])exit("bad boy!"); if(!is_numeric($_POST['number'])exit("bad boy!"); //exclude more. $path="temp/that_".$row['word']."txt"; if(file_exists($path) and filemtime("includes/that.inc")<$filemtime($path)){ readfile($path); } else{ include "includes/openSql.inc"; $call=sql_query("SELECT * FROM that WHERE name='".mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['word'])."'"); if(!$call)exit("ups"); $out=""; while($row=mysql_fetch_assoc($call)){ $out.=$_POST['word']." loves the color ".$row['color'].".<br/>"; } echo $out; $fn=fopen($path,"wb"); fputs($fn,$out); fclose($fn); } if something change at the database, you just have to delete involved files. Hope it was English.

  • C++ Inheritance Question

    - by shaz
    I have a base class MessageHandler and 2 derived classes, MessageHandler_CB and MessageHandler_DQ. The derived classes redefine the handleMessage(...) method. MH_DQ processes a message and puts the result in a deque while MH_CB processes the message and then executes a callback function. The base class has a static callback function that I pass along with a this pointer to a library which calls the static callback when a new message is available for processing. My problem comes when I am in the static callback with a void * pointing to either a MH_DQ or a MH_CB. If I cast it to the base class the empty MessageHandler::handleMessage(...) method is called, rather than the version in the appropriate derived class. What is the best way to address this situation from a design perspective and/or what language features might help me to implement a solution to my problem? Thanks in advance!

  • Default Contoller in CodeIgniter

    - by gregavola
    I am wondering if there is any other configuration options for a default controller. For example - if I have a controller called "site" and I set the default controller in the following file: application/config/routes.php to: $route['default_controller'] = "site"; I should be able to go to http://localhost and that brings up the index(); function in the site controller. However, if I try to do go to http://localhost/index.php/index2 to load the index2(); function I get a 404 error. If I change the URL to http://localhost/index.php/site/index2 it works fine - but I thought already set the default controller. Is there any way around this?

  • How to do something after effect animation ends in Flex?

    - by Chobicus
    I'm a beginner in Flex so there must be more elegant way of doing this. //move effect private var m:Move = new Move(); //this function creates labels with some text and starts move effect on them public function moveText(i:int):void { var myLabel:Label = new Label(); myLabel.text = "some text"; m.target = myLabel; ... m.play(); } Method moveText is called in a loop so I guess that labels don't get "garbage collected". What I want to do is to remove Labels created in moveText method after play animation ends. Another way of doing this is maybe creating some kind of "pool" of labels which I would use to move arround text. I don't know how would I return labels in to "pool". The question is how to do something after effect animation ends?

  • AJAX Closures and targeting 'this'

    - by Nick Lowman
    In the code example below the success callback function logs 'input#04.update' four times rather than each individual input, which makes sense seeing how closures work but how would I go about targeting each individual input using this. <input type="text" name="" id="01" class="update"> <input type="text" name="" id="02" class="update"> <input type="text" name="" id="03" class="update"> <input type="text" name="" id="04" class="update"> function updateFields(){ $('input.update').each(function(){ $this = $(this); $.ajax({ data: 'id=' + this.id, success: function(resp){ console.log($this); $this.val(resp) } }); }); }

  • Unable to return/process JSON in JQuery $.get()

    - by shyam
    I have a problem returning/processing JSON data while calling $.get() function. Here's the code: JQuery: $.get("script.php?", function(data) { if (data.status) { alert('ok'); } else { alert(data.error); } },'json'); PHP if ($r) { $ret = array("status"=>true); } else { $ret = array("status"=>false,"error"=>$error); } echo json_encode( $ret ); So this is the code. But the response is always taken as string in the jquery. data.status and data.error is undefined.

  • jquery - turning "autocomplete" to off for all forms (even ones not loaded yet)

    - by matthewsteiner
    So, I've got this code: $(document).ready(function(){ $('form').attr('autocomplete', 'off'); }); It works great for all forms already existing. The problem is, some forms of mine are in pop ups loaded throught ajax. This won't apply to them since they're "loaded" later. I know there's a live() function - but that's only for attaching events. What's a good way to apply this to all forms? Thanks.

  • How come $(this) is undefined after ajax call

    - by JohnnyQ
    I am doing an ajax request when an anchor tag is clicked with an ID set to href. Btw, this anchor tag is dynamically created. <a href="983" class="commentDeleteLink">delete</a> When the anchor tag is clicked the following code is executed: $('.commentDeleteLink').live('click', function(event) { event.preventDefault(); var result = confirm('Proceed?'); if ( result ) { $.ajax({ url: window.config.AJAX_REQUEST, type: "POST", data: { action : 'DELCOMMENT', comment : $('#commentText').val(), comment_id : $(this).attr('href') }, success: function(result) { alert($(this).attr('href')); //$(this).fadeOut(slow); } }); } }); When I tried to display $(this).attr('href') it says it's "undefined". What I really want to do is fadeOut the anchor tag but when I investigated the value of $(this) it is "undefined". What could be wrong with the snippet above?

  • Preventing SQL injecting in a database class

    - by Josh
    I'm building a database class and thought it'd be a good idea to incorporate some form of SQL injection prevention (duh!). Here's the method that runs a database query: class DB { var $db_host = 'localhost'; var $db_user = 'root'; var $db_passwd = ''; var $db_name = 'whatever'; function query($sql) { $this->result = mysql_query($sql, $this->link); if(!$this->result) { $this->error(mysql_error()); } else { return $this->result; } } } There's more in the class than that but I'm cutting it down just for this. The problem I'm facing is if I just use mysql_real_escape_string($sql, $this->link); then it escapes the entire query and leads to a SQL syntax error. How can I dynamically find the variables that need to be escaped? I want to avoid using mysql_real_escape_string() in my main code blocks, i'd rather have it in a function. Thanks.

  • jQuery.post not working when using data type json

    - by swift
    I have been trying to utilize json in this jQuery.post because I need to return two values from my executed php. The code was working when I was not implementing json. I need to see if a promo code entered is valid for a particular broker. The two variables I need back are the instant message whether or not it's valid (this is displayed to the user) and I need to update a hidden field that will be used later while updating the database. The jQuery.post does not seem to be firing at all, but the code directly above it (the ajax-loader.gif) is working. I did re-write the whole thing at one point using jQuery.ajax, and had issues there too. Granted, I have probably been looking at this too long and have tried to re-write too many times, but any help is greatly appreciated!! Here's the jQuery.post <!-- Below Script is for Checking Promo Code Against Database--> <script type="text/javascript"> jQuery(document).ready(function() { jQuery("#promocode").keyup(function (e) { //removes spaces from PromoCode jQuery(this).val(jQuery(this).val().replace(/\s/g, '')); var promocode = jQuery(this).val(); var brokerdealerid = document.getElementById("BrokerDealerId").value; if(promocode.length > 0 ){ jQuery("#promo-result").html('<img src="../imgs/ajax-loader.gif" />'); jQuery.post( '../check_promocode.php', {promocode:promocode, brokerdealerid:brokerdealerid}, function(data) { $("#promo-result").html(data.promoresult); $("#promo-result-valid").html(data.promovalid); }, "json"); } }); }); </script> <!-- End Script is for Checking Promo Code Against Database--> Here's relevant code from check_promocode.php: //sanitize incoming parameters if (isset($_POST['brokerdealerid'])) $brokerdealerid = sanitizeMySQL($_POST['brokerdealerid']); $promocode = sanitizeMySQL($promocode); //check promocode in db $results = mysql_query("SELECT PromotionCodeIdentifier FROM PromotionCode WHERE PromotionCodeIdentifier='$promocode' AND BrokerDealerId='$brokerdealerid' AND PromotionCodStrtDte <= CURDATE() AND PromotionCodExpDte >= CURDATE()"); //return total count $PromoCode_exist = mysql_num_rows($results); //total records //if value is more than 0, promocode is valid if($PromoCode_exist) { echo json_encode(array("promoresult"=>"Promotion Code Valid", "promovalid"=>"Y")); exit(); }else{ echo json_encode(array("promoresult"=>"Invalid Promotion Code", "promovalid"=>"N")); exit(); }

  • jQuery .noconflict with prototype not working in (you guessed it) IE.

    - by Kyle Sevenoaks
    On my new customer page, I have successfully implemented a jQuery show/hide toggle alongside a Prototype script using jQuery's .noconflict. (Thanks to all for answers!) But as the world of the net is, IE's not playing ball. {literal} <script src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-latest.js" type="text/javascript"> </script> <script type="text/javascript"> var $j = jQuery.noConflict(); $j(function() { $j("#button1").click(function() { $j("#show-hide").toggle("slow"); }); });? </script> {/literal} As you all must know by now, I'm just newly coming to all this jQuery stuff, so I have no idea what could cause it. Thanks for any help.

  • Eliminating inherited overlong MACRO

    - by ExpatEgghead
    I have inherited a very long set of macros from some C algorithm code.They basically call free on a number of structures as the function exits either abnormally or normally. I would like to replace these with something more debuggable and readable. A snippet is shown below #define FREE_ALL_VECS {FREE_VEC_COND(kernel);FREE_VEC_COND(cirradCS); FREE_VEC_COND(pixAccum)..... #define FREE_ALL_2D_MATS {FREE_2D_MAT_COND(circenCS); FREE_2D_MAT_COND(cirradCS_2); } #define FREE_ALL_IMAGES {immFreeImg(&imgC); immFreeImg(&smal..... #define COND_FREE_ALLOC_VARS {FREE_ALL_VECS FREE_ALL_2D_MATS FREE_ALL_IMAGES} What approach would be best? Should I just leave well alone if it works? This macro set is called twelve times in one function. I'm on Linux with gcc.

  • Next/Previous click jQuery UI

    - by madjester
    I am trying to add next/previous buttons on a button click using the jQuery UI Slider. I found this code... $("#down").click(function() { var s = $("#slider"), val = s.slider("value"), step = s.slider("option", "step"); s.slider("value", val - step); }); $("#up").click(function() { var s = $("#slider"), val = s.slider("value"), step = s.slider("option", "step"); s.slider("value", val + step); }); Here: http://osdir.com/ml/jquery-ui/2009-03/msg00617.html However this only changes the value of the Slider, moving the slider handle, but it doesn't actually slide the element. Little help?

  • using jquery $.post() for returning multiple values

    - by Aninemity
    Hi all I am trying to use a $.post() in the following way: $.post("file.php", { file_id: $(this).val()}, function(data){...} The file.php then does a database query and returns an array with a title, description and image reference. What I want to do then is be able to update the .val() for form fields for each. I understand how to do this on a single variable, it would just be the following: $.post("file.php", { file_id: $(this).val()}, function(data){ $('#title').val(data); } But, how do I get the data returned to be recognizable in jquery as either separate variables or as an array? Thanks in advance

  • why does it use the movl instead of push ?!

    - by user554403
    hi all. pay attention to this code : #include <stdio.h> void a(int a, int b, int c) { char buffer1[5]; char buffer2[10]; } int main() { a(1,2,3); } after that : gcc -S a.c that command shows our source code in assembly. now we can see in the main function, we never use "push" command to push the arguments of the a function into the stack. and it used "movel" instead of that main: pushl %ebp movl %esp, %ebp andl $-16, %esp subl $16, %esp movl $3, 8(%esp) movl $2, 4(%esp) movl $1, (%esp) call a leave why does it happen? what's difference between them?

  • Can a link have both an onclick jquery and javascript event?

    - by odpogn
    I have a link that jQuery listens to, and if clicked it will toggle another div. The link also has an onclick javascript action. When I click the link, the div I want to toggle shows, but the javascript doesn't execute. Is it possible to get the javascript to execute AND have jQuery toggle the div? If so what would I put in the jQuery code to allow the link to execute the onclick javascript action? jQuery script $(function() { $('#links a').live('click', function() { $("#showall").toggle('slow'); }); }); my link <div id ="links"> <a href="some javascript" onclick="javascript">Play</a> </div>

  • jQuery ajax get

    - by Happy
    There are many class="item" blocks on the page. For each one there is different var item_link and ajax request. Ajax searches for src attribute of .message img and throws it to var src. $(".item").each(function(){ var item_link = "http://..."; $(this).prepend('<div class="src"></div>'); $.get(item_link, function(data) { var src = $('.message img', data).attr('src'); }); }); How to print var src to <div class="src"></div>? Thanks.

  • how to do collision detection for hollow(?) movieclips in flash AS3?

    - by Pieter888
    Hey everyone, I'm making small interactive games in flash to learn AS3, now I ran into a problem that I need some help with. I need to check the collision between the player and the wall which is normally simple using the hitTestObject function. But now I made a wall object totally surrounding the player with corridors and turn, a collision playground so to speak. Now when I use the hitTestObject function to check whether the player is in collision with the wall it tells me it always collides supposedly because the player object is within the bounds of the wall object. So assuming that I'm correct about the error: How can I prevent getting a collision when I'm inside the bounds of the wall object but not touching the actual walls in that object?

  • speeding up parsing of files

    - by user248237
    the following function parses a CSV file into a list of dictionaries, where each element in the list is a dictionary where the values are indexed by the header of the file (assumed to be the first line.) this function is very very slow, taking ~6 seconds for a file that's relatively small (less than 30,000 lines.) how can I speed it up? def csv2dictlist_raw(filename, delimiter='\t'): f = open(filename) header_line = f.readline().strip() header_fields = header_line.split(delimiter) dictlist = [] # convert data to list of dictionaries for line in f: values = map(tryEval, line.strip().split(delimiter)) dictline = dict(zip(header_fields, values)) dictlist.append(dictline) return (dictlist, header_fields) thanks.
