• Linux Fiber Channel Host Setup Basic

  I've been googling for about 4 hours now with no luck. I am trying to setup a Linux server running Oracle Server 6.3 as a Fiber Channel host. And then connect it to a Dell Compellent Fibre Channel Host contain a 500GB Volume. The Oracle server itself contains two Brocade 815 FC HBAs. I've discovered their WWN(I think) via cat /sys/class/fc_host/host1/port_name 0x100000051efc3d85 cat /sys/class/fc_host/host2/port_name 0x100000051efc3d9f The next part is where I am at a loss. I've used iSCSI before...is FC the same deal where you have an initiator and a target? If so where do I specific that in linux? I'm also new to Fiber Channel as a protocol, so i am unsure what is needed to make a transaction? WWN and port ID? Similar to IP:Port combination in the Ethernet world. I've read alot regarding using systool, multipath, fc_transport commands, however none of these is recognized as a valid command from Oracle Server 6.3 Appreciate the guidance and assistance. • Building a new PC, Installing XP, blue screen of death

  I got a gigabyte barebones kit and am installing windows-XP(SP1) and the initial setup works, then it restarts and goes into the second phase of the setup. Then when installing components (I think that's what it says) it gets half way done and comes up with a blue screen saying IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. BUT! I had gotten past that by installing windows-XP media center addition Now I am trying to install the drivers for my Asus ATI Radeon 5770 graphics card and I get another blue screen of death that doesnt give much info something about address x0000005. Would you think there is something wrong with something in my system or do you think if I got windows 7 that would take care of things? Sorry for probably not giving enough info. • Eclipse Juno failing to start with Java returning 1 error report

• RHEL 6.x on Rackspace Cloud and Dedicated hardware experiencing Redis Timeouts

  I just recently set up a mixture of RHEL 6.1 Rackspace cloud hosts and RHEL 6.2 dedicated hosts using Rackconnect. I am experiencing intermittent Redis timeouts from within our Rails 3.2.8 app with Redis 2.4.16 running on the RHEL 6.2 dedicated hosts. There is no network latency or packet loss. Also there are no errors on any interfaces on our cloud or dedicated servers or on the managed firewall from Rackspace. When Redis timesout, there is nothing logged within redis even though it is set up to do debug logging. The only error we receive is from Airbrake saying there was a Redis timeout. • Can't run node.js script on server reboot

  I need to listen events on port 3240 and I'm using node.js for that purpose. I need to execute my script with forever tool. I also need to run forever on server reboot. When I run forever glh.js everything works: forever list says there is a running process. But when I'm trying to run forever on server reboot I can't get it working. I've created a file in /etc/init.d with the following content: #!/bin/bash /var/www/yan/data/gitlabhook/runglh.sh &>/var/www/yan/data/gitlabhook/runglh.log When I reboot the server, the output log is the following (the same as when I run it manually via console): info: Forever processing file: glh.js But in this case forever doesn't start a process. forever list outputs: info: No forever processes running

• ARM laptop available?

  Hearing all the fuss about some new consumer product that uses an ARM Cortex A8, I'm interested to get in on some of the action. But I want a real programmable computer running something like Linux. I've seen many, many reports in the past 2 or 3 years about prototype ARM laptops with great battery life. Unfortunately, when I tried googling today, all I can find are the old videos and press releases about the prototypes, not a shipping product. Is there an actual ARM laptop available today? Or did everybody give up and just use Intel Atom chips?

  I am trying to decrypt my WLAN data with Wireshark. I have already read and tried eveything on this page but without any success (well, I tried the example dump on that page and succeeded, but I fail with my own packets). I caught the four-way handshake from another client connecting to the network. My network info is as follows: SSID: test Passphrase: mypass The above info would give this preshared key: 58af7d7ce2e11faeab2278a5ef45de4944385f319b52a5b2d82389faedd3f9bf In Wireshark in the Preferences--IEEE 802.11 I have set this line as Key 1: wpa-psk:58af7d7ce2e11faeab2278a5ef45de4944385f319b52a5b2d82389faedd3f9bf I have tried the different options of "Ignore the protection bit" but none works. What could I have missed?

  I'm trying to install a second version of PHP, to run alongside the current version of php. I've compiled the latest php source from github (5.5-DEV), and I'm trying to run it as CGI. • Can't communicate with Primary DNS Server

  A computer, with Windows 7, can't access any website by domain suddenly. Whether this computer use a wired link or connect to the WLAN, The fault persists IP and DNS obtained automatically, and seems normal (ipconfig /all return the correct info) I can visit websites by using HTTP proxy The DNS server is available, other computer in my room works properly. I can ping myself, the gateway and any other IP, but domains I can use nslookup and obtain the correct IP info There are some error information in the event log about dns client events explaining the client can not verify the DNS server available Windows network diagnosis explain that Windows can't communicate with the device or resource (Primary DNS Server) I guess the dns client should be blame. I tried to do the following things but the fault persist. Reinstall the driver of network adapter Reset TCP/IP (netsh int ip reset) Reset Winsock (netsh winsock reset) Reset LSP I don't want to reinstall the whole os, what should I do?

• Developer Laptop with SQL Server 2008 can't login to SSIS when offsite

  When I bring my Windows XP (SP3) laptop home I can still login as my domain account because Windows caches the info necessary to authenticate me when the domain controller isn't around. However, when I try to connect to Integration Services from within SQL Server Management Studio, it generates SSPI context errors. The only way it works is if I connect to the office with VPN or if I'm at the office where the domain controller is. I have both SQL Server Agent and SQL Server Integration Services 10 running under local computer accounts. It seems that the only option to connect to Integration Services from within Management Studio is to use Window authentication. Is there any way to do this when I'm not connected to the office? Why don't these services use the cached info just like Windows Login? Thanks.

• Bulk "open with" change on OS X 10.6

  I use Microsoft remote desktop to connect from my mac to the windows machine I work on. I have a directory with about 50 different rdp files. (The config files for each machine). They go changed to open with the remote desktop in Windows XP on Parallels. Is there a command I can use to change all those back to opening with the remote desktop on my Mac? I can use the right mouse click "Always open with" command, or the equivalent on the "Get Info" menu, but I would like to find a way to make that change in bulk. "Change All..." button on the "Get Info" menu does not have any effect.

• help with Outlook Exchange server and curl

  I work on a mac in a building full of PCs, and the IT department here doesn't have IMAP access turned on on the exchange servers. So I miss a lot of meetings because I don't get reminders because I access my mail via Outlook Web access. I had written a script to scrape my Outlook Web Access calendar and turn it into iCal format, so I could get my reminders via thunderbird or iCal.app. It basically downloaded the calendar page via curl, parsed the HTML and reformatted all the appointments as ical. it wasn't elegant, but it worked. Then they changed to outlook 2007, and it doesn't work any more. I have a sketchy knowledge of curl, and almost zero knowledge of how outlook works. Can anyone point me towards a reference for getting calendar info out of an exchange server without using outlook? If I can configure curl to get the HTML I will be happy, but if there's a more elegant way, such as getting the calendar info as XML I'll be delirious.

• Could my 64-bit server be somehow identifying itself as a 32-bit server?

  Has anyone ever heard of a 64-bit OS identifying itself as a 32-bit OS? We have a Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 development server. We've been trying to activate it with a product key from MSDN, but it keeps telling us the the key is invalid. I've opened a ticket with MSDN for this. Then something odd happened -- I tried to install a 64-bit version of SQL Server 2005. After it extracted, we got this message: This version of hotfix.exe is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program... Now, we're pretty sure this is a 64-bit OS. Computer Properties says: System Type: 64-bit Operating System Also, we have both a "Program Files" and a "Program Files (x64)" directory. I don't know how the product key activator or the SQL install program attempts to divine the type of OS, but could it be...wrong?

• SVN check out to samba directory

  I'm trying to svn co to a directory on Ubuntu, shared via samba, to OS X, but I get the following error (in OS X). svn: In directory 'site/product/tests' svn: Can't open file 'site/product/tests/.svn/tmp/text-base/._base.py.svn-base': No such file or directory My smb.conf file includes the following changes: unix extensions = no browseable = yes public = yes writable = yes delete readonly = yes create mask = 0775 directory mask = 0775 valid users = %S read only = no The checkout works fine locally (on the Ubuntu machine). What am I missing? More detail: Later inspection showed that the svn error couldn't find the file with 3, then 2 underscores: .___init__.py.svn-base Whereas listing the directory in OS X showed 2, then 2 underscores: __init__.py.svn-base And listing the same directory in a successful checkout on Ubuntu shows nothing (because it's a temporary directory?) I've tried the mangled = no setting in share settings, to no effect.

• Will Dolphin emulator run (smoothly) on this machine?

  Product Specs: Intel® NM10 Express chipset /w Intel® Atom® D525 (dual-core, 1.8 GHz) I think the most I can put in there for RAM is 4 GB. (They don't make 8 GB SODIMM do they?) The Dolphin site is pretty vague about requirements: Windows XP or higher, or Linux, or MacOSX Intel Fast CPU with SSE2. GPU with Pixel Shader 2.0 or greater. Some integrated graphics chips work but it depends on the model (and only with DirectX 9). I'm trying to make a light-weight quiet little machine for streaming video and playing eumulators, and I'm trying to figure out the minimum requirements I will need to do what I want. I know I'm not supposed to ask for product recommendations here, so if you could just advise the minimum requirements in terms of CPU, graphics card, and RAM, that'd be helpful.

• CURL on PHP 5.2 works in CLI but not in IIS

  I have a Windows 2003 Server running IIS with php 5.2.8, I'm trying to use CURL, and it works in CLI mode (if i execute php.exe) but it does not seem to be registered when running under IIS. The output of PHP info in both CLI and IIS show the same 'Loaded Configuration File', but under IIS it does not give the CURL info box. c:\program files\php\php.exe -i shows ... Loaded Configuration File => C:\Program Files\PHP\php.ini ... curl cURL support => enabled cURL Information => libcurl/7.16.0 OpenSSL/0.9.8i zlib/1.2.3 phpinfo() ... Loaded Configuration File => C:\Program Files\PHP\php.ini ... NOTE: This server also runs php 5.3 in c:\program files\php-5.3.0 and CURL does properly work with that installation.

  Let's say we have two files. match.txt: A file containing patterns to match: fed ghi tsr qpo data.txt: A file containing lines of text: abc fed ghi jkl mno pqr stu vwx zyx wvu tsr qpo Now, I want to issue a grep command that should return the first and third line from data.txt: abc fed ghi jkl zyx wvu tsr qpo ... because each of these two lines match one of the patterns in match.txt. I have tried: grep -F -f match.txt data.txt but that returns no results. grep info: GNU grep 2.6.3 (cygwin) OS info: Windows 2008 R2 Update: It seems, that grep is confused by the space in the search pattern lines, but with the -F flag, it should be treating each line in match.txt as an individual match pattern.

• How to enable printer settings over Jetdirect on HP 4100N

  I have a HP 4100N printer and I am using it over network. Previously I was able to access the printer settings over internet, but now the only thing visible is Device Info and Networking. I can connect to the web server and I can set all the network related settings, but that's not what I want. There should be a supplies, config, print info, etc. page, what are not visible now. Can you tell me what setting should I set to enable this printer config page on the webserver? The printer is a HP 4100N and the network card is J4169A (Jetdirect 610n).

• migrate SharePoint to SBS Server

  We have a SharePoint 2003 server and we need to migrate that data to SharePoint 2011 on a SBS server. We cannot use the migration tool because one of the servers is SBS and the other is not. We exported the SharePoint data from the old system, but the import to the SBS SharePoint is failing with very little info on why. I think that there is a schema conflict, but I am not that familiar with SBS and I am not finding the error in the Windows logs. Has anyone had to migrate data from non-SBS system to an SBS system? Or can anyone help me figure out where to look for more info on what is going on?

  In postfix, I'm using relay_host to send an email to an external address using sendgrid, but I get an error about local ricipient table when sending an email from my PHP code. This is my main.cf in /postfix/ ## -- Sendgrid smtp_sasl_auth_enable = yes smtp_sasl_password_maps = static:username:password smtp_sasl_security_options = noanonymous smtp_tls_security_level = may header_size_limit = 4096000 relayhost = [smtp.sendgrid.net]:587 This is the error message from the log: postfix/smtpd[53598]: [ID 197553 mail.info] NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from localhost[127.0.0.1]: 550 5.1.1 Recipient address rejected: User unknown in local recipient table; from=<[email protected]> to=<[email protected]> proto=ESMTP helo=<localhost.localdomain> One interesting thing is when I use "sendmail [email protected]" from the command line, the email is delivered successfully using SendGrid. • Brand new Lenovo u410 heats up around touchpad

  My Lenovo u410 started heating around the right palm rest minutes after I unpacked it! I am devastated, because I bought this for programming, and it's impossible to type on this for extended periods with the surface getting so hot. I haven't run any serious programs on it yet, so the processor has been pretty much idle. I've been Googling this problem, and found only one person who had this issue too. Is this is a defect in the product? Why aren't many others getting this problem? I bought it via newegg.com and as per their policy you can't return a product once you've opened it. Specs: Core i5, 6 GB RAM, 750 GB harddisk. Running Windows 8.

  I've asked this on stackoverflow, but it may be better suited for serverfault... I'm having a problem running Apache + Subversion with SSL behind an Nginx proxy and I'm hoping someone might have the answer. I've scoured google for hours looking for the answer to my problem and can't seem to figure it out. What I'm seeing are "502 (Bad Gateway)" errors when trying to MOVE or COPY using subversion; however, checkouts and commits work fine.   just need a quick info on two questions but very related. 1 if we use rds on amazon aws, what happens if some of the machines rds is running on crash? i mean what happens with the data? is it gone? 2 if we use rds on amazon aws via beanstalk, and decide to stop them is the database gone, i mean data, is it gone? thnx a lot, simple yes/no will do, but if you can give more info or a solution to mitigate these issues if any of the answers is unfavorable, that would be great.
