• Call an anchor tag via javascript

  Hi all, I am using thick box 3.1 to load a pop up. It working well by using in the following way: <a href="filename.php" class="thickbox"> TEST </a> If we click on the TEST now then the popup is working well and good. Now my prob is: I need to call this popup in form load using JavaScript. I do something like below: <script type="text/javascript"> window.location.href = "filename.php" </script> it's just redirecting to that particular file. But not showing in the pop up. • learning the Lower levels of computing

  I am a software developer with four years experience in .Net development, I always like to keep up to date with the latest technologies (.net related normally) being released and love learning them. I didn't however go to university and learnt all I know through helpful colleagues, .Net courses, the internet and good old books. I feel that I am a good developer, but without learning the lower levels of a computer as you would in the first year of a computer related Uni course, I get lost when talking to people about a lot of more technical lower level computing. Is there a book(s) that anyone could recommend, that would cover the lower levels of what is going on when I click "Run" in Visual Studio? I feel out of my depth when my boss says to me "Thats running in the CPU cache" or "you're limited by disk reads there", and would like to feel more confident when talking about how the hardware talks to each other (CPU to RAM etc). Apologise if thats a vague question, or has been asked before (i did check and couldn't find anything on here that answers my question).

• Safari Back button not honouring PHP logout session

  I've got a logout.php page which ends a user's session and works well and does the following: session_start(); session_unset(); session_destroy(); I've just noticed when testing with Safari that when you logout you can click the back button to return to the previous page which requires authentication but are not prompted. You cannot navigate away from this page without entering the navigation but it should not be displaying the previous page in the first place. So far in my testing this is only an issue with Safari on Mac OS X and there are a number of other reports about this but with no resolution that I could find: http://www.experts-exchange.com/Web_Development/Web_Languages-Standards/PHP/Q_23702691.html I would love to be able to disable this behaviour with Safari's back button - surprised that this is happening in the first place. • LLBLGenProDataSource : cannot see updates values of newly inserted item from a FormView

  After performing a FormView.InsertItem, I am unable to read the new values from the bound object within the LLBLGenProDataSource that the FormView is bound to. I have tracing turned on, I can see the insert happen, and the data does make it into the database, yet when I examine the contents of LLBLGenProDataSource.EntityCollection(0) (there is only one item in the collection) I do not see the values from the FormView.....yet, they are somehow being inserted into the database. • How to change a UIBarButtonItem in a UINavigationBar

  I'm trying to set up a list of items that can be edited. I have a main view, with a UINavigationBar at the top and a UITableView directly under it. I'd like to have my "edit" button change to a "done" button on click, but I can't figure out how to do it. If I could do it in the code (not it interface builder), I could just replace it, but I can't even do that. I've seen some code using [self.navigationItem], but in my case self is a UIView. It also feels a bit odd to be using a UINavigationBar when I don't want navigation (this is one page only), but I want a toolbar with a title and and a button, so I don't think really have a choice.

  Hello, everybody!!!! I have just successfully installed TWILL on my computer with the help of one very supportive member of "StackOverflow" (you can check it out HERE) and have tried to run one of the simple examples on the twill documentation page (you can see that page HERE). Here is that example: Let's say my username on www.slash.org is lynxye and my password is mammal. When I try to enter that example code into my Python prompt, I can only type and enter the first line of the code because when I click on "Enter" to start a new line, I get some error messages right away: The same happens when I try to enter this code into my terminal: I think I miss out on some basics here. Perhaps, I need to create a file that would contain that code and then run that file somehow, but I really don't know where I need to create that file and with what extensdion. Can anyone, please, help me with this?

• I have a problem with a AE1200 Cisco/Linksys Wireless-N USB adapter having stopped working after I ran the update manager in Ubuntu 12.04

  Here is the problem, I use a Cisco/Linksys AE1200 wireless network adapter to connect my desktop to a public wifi internet connection. I use ndiswrapper to use the windows driver and it had been working fine for me untill I ran the update manager overnight a few days ago. In other words, without adding x:Class to the top of Generic.xaml and thus creating a code-behind file for it, which I assume you wouldn't want to do, how do you handle events for elements in your xaml that don't have a Command property (which is just about everything other than a Button)? Should LooklessControl have it's own XAML file (much like what you get when you create a new UserControl) associated with it that Generic.xaml just pulls in as a MergedDictionar as its default template? Or is there some other acknowledged way to do what I'm trying to do?

• How do I include 2 tables in LocalStorage?

  I've got a table that you can edit, and I've got a simple code saving that list when you're done with editing it. (the tables have the contenteditable on) The problem I've stumbled upon is that if I double click on enter, the table gets divided into two separate tables with the same ID. This causes the code I'm using to set the localStorage to only store one of the tables (I assume the first).. I've thought of different solutions and I wonder if someone could point out the pro's and con's (if the solutions even works that is). Make a loop that checks the page after tables and stores them into an array of localStorage-items.. I'd have to dynamically create a localStorage item for each table. Take the whole div that the tables are in, and store that in the localStorage, when a user revisits the page, the page checks after the items in storage and displays the whole divs. Any suggestions you have that can beat this :).. (but no cache, it has to be with the localStorage!) Thanks

On click of button; it redirects to the path I mentioned in form action. With Tamper data I find that the request goes to URL ( as in method ) with GET and then it re-directs to form's action URL. I added return false in the method call also.-- javascript:doCloseWindow();return false" I tired various combination like window.location.href = "https://abc.xyz.com/mydir/?param=123"; window.document.location.href = "https://abc.xyz.com/mydir/?param=123"; document.location.href = "https://abc.xyz.com/mydir/?param=123"; But no success.

  Hi, I am new to XML and am having a small problem in Flash. I have a number of buttons. Each of these buttons need to open up a different URL which is in a xml file (I have added only one button for now (banstead), as I wasn´t sure how to add more). • Creating custom contact page -- page-contact.tpl.php (Drupal)

  I'm new to Drupal. I want to create a contact page, so I copied page.tpl.php and renamed it to page-contact.tpl.php. I created some new elements in the page, so I can see that if I click on the "contact" link, I'll know that I went to the correct page. Right now I don't see any change. Was there something I missed? Do I need to do something in the admin settings so Drupal knows which file I need to open? I also tried clearing my cache.

For running a JAR file I am using a command-line window and executing the following command: java -jar helloworld.jar By using this command I can execute the JAR file. But instead of doing it in a command-line window, I want to execute the JAR file if I double click on the JAR file. I did some Google search for this. But I cannot do this. For this do I need to install any software? Can any one provide me help on this?

• UITableView: moving a row into an empty section

  I have a UITableView with some empty sections. I'd like the user to be able to move a row into them using the standard edit mode controls. The only way I can do it so far is to have a dummy row in my "empty" sections and try to hide it by using tableView:heightForRowAtIndexPath: to give the dummy row a height of zero. This seems to leave it as a 1-pixel row. I can probably hide this by making a special type of cell that's just filled with [UIColor groupTableViewBackgroundColor], but is there a better way? This is all in the grouped mode of UITableView UPDATE: Looks like moving rows into empty sections IS possible without any tricks, but the "sensitivity" is bad enough that you DO need tricks in order to make it usable for general users (who won't be patient enough to slowly hover the row around the empty section until things click)

• Stress Test tool for Password Protected Website

  We need to run a stress test on a password protection section of a website we host. What tool (paid or free) would be best for us to use for this? We'd like to be able to create several 'scripts' and then have the stress test simulate X number of users. Each script will have us login as a specific user and then click on some links and submit forms to simulate an actual user. Ideally the software would also create some nice data exports/charts. Server is a linux web server, but we could run this on linux or Windows so software that will run on either is fine.

  Hi, Can anyone advise if its possible to pass data via JQUERY to an ASP.NET MVC controller action and have a view rendered in new browser tab based on the model data passed to the action method. My scenario is that I have a Jqgrid populated with product info on a page. The user would tick the items in the grid that they would like a label produced for. After they've made their slection they would click a button and I would like (if possible) to render a view of that contains a label for each selected item and have the view render in a new browser tab. All the code to allow the selections and post the relevant data back to the action method is all working fine and I know its easy to use the Jquery $(selector).load() command to populate an element on the current page with the HTML returned from the action. But is it possible to populate an element on a page in a new browser tab. If it is how would I go about it? Hope this make sense.

• jQuery ajaxForm returning .json file

  I've got a model creation form in rails which I also have returning JSON through ajax. My code so far look like: $('#new_stem').ajaxForm({ //#new_stem is my form dataType: 'json', success: formSuccess }); function formSuccess(stemObj) { //does stuff with stemObj } And I have a multipart form with a file uploader (but I'm not sure if that is relevant). When I submit the form it works fine (my models are properly being created and renders as json), but instead of the json getting handled by the formSuccess function, it prompts a download for "stems.json" (the path to my stem creation action) in Firefox. What would cause this to happen, and what could solve it? Not sure if this is part of the problem, but I don't have a submit button in my form, I have a link with a click handler that calls $('#new_stem).submit() Thanks guys!

• Flash AS3 Chrome Mailto link issues

  Hi I have a problem with flash in Chrome. I have a couple of mailto: links in my flash web page, when clicking on them in chrome they either don't do anything at all, opens up a blank page/tab and no email client or opens an email client once (have to refresh the page in order to click it again). Does anyone know the best way in which to do a chrome supported mailto? Seems to work in all other browsers. I have changed the target to _blank, _parent, _self etc. Plus I have one link actually on the stage and another running through AS. Hope that makes sense, cheers.
