  • Recompiling Nginx 1.4.3 with "--with-http_gzip_static_module" error

    - by Elijah Paul
I'm trying to enable the 'ngx_http_gzip_static_module' module in Nginx 1.4.3 by adding the --with-http_gzip_static_module to my ./configure configuration. But I recieve the following error when i try to recompile (make): # make make -f objs/Makefile make[1]: Entering directory `/tmp/nginx-1.4.3' make[1]: *** No rule to make target `src/os/unix/ngx_gcc_atomic_x86.h', needed by `objs/src/core/nginx.o'. What am I missing here?

  • 'txn-current-lock': Permission denied [500, #13] - Subversion + Apache Configuration Issue

    - by wfoster
Current Setup Fedora 13 32bit Apache 2.2.16 Subversion repositories setup under /var/www/svn I have two different repositories under this directory so my /etc/httpd/conf.d/subversion.conf setup in this way; LoadModule dav_svn_module modules/mod_dav_svn.so LoadModule authz_svn_module modules/mod_authz_svn.so <Location /svn> DAV svn SVNListParentPath on SVNParentPath /var/www/svn <LimitExcept GET PROPFIND OPTIONS REPORT> AuthType Basic AuthName "Subversion Repository" AuthUserFile /etc/httpd/.htpasswd Require valid-user </LimitExcept> </Location> After copying over my repos and using; chmod 755 -R /var/www/svn chcon -R -t httpd_sys_content_t /var/www/svn chown apache:apache -R /var/www/svn I can browse my repos fine through the browser, and I can update all my working copies, however when I try to check in from anywhere I get the same error Can't open file '/var/www/svn/repo/db/txn-current-lock':Permission denied I have been working on this issue for a while now and cant seem to find a solution to my issues. It might be of some use to know that the repo existed on a different server before this, it has been now moved to this new server. Everything I have read seems to indicate that the permissions for apache are incorrect, however apache is set to run as User apache and Group apache. So as far as I can tell my setup is correct. The behavior is not though. Any Ideas? Solution The only way I was able to get this to work is to disable SELinux, it could also be done by setting the proper booleans with SELinux via setsetbool and getsebool since this is just a home server, I decided to disable SELinux and am reaping the benefits now.

  • Why would I be getting IXFR and AXFR transfer denied on my DNS server?

    - by danielj
    From everything I've researched and tried, it appears that my named.conf is configured correctly, including the allow-transfer section. Here is a sample of the errors. It is only happening with a couple of my secondary servers, but it is happening for every zone for those servers that are failing. One of the servers is attempting IXFR, the other AXFR. The result is the same: 18-Mar-2011 14:27:51.372 security: error: client 84.234.24.90#59208: zone transfer 'juansgaranton.com/IXFR/IN' denied 18-Mar-2011 14:32:18.015 security: error: client 174.37.196.55#50783: zone transfer 'cheshirecat.net/AXFR/IN' denied Here is the relevant part of named.conf. options { directory "/etc/bind"; pid-file "/var/run/named/named.pid"; files 4096; allow-transfer { 140.186.190.103; 84.234.24.90; 207.246.95.34; 203.20.52.5; 140.186.190.103; 127.0.0.1; 174.37.196.55; }; }; logging { channel "bind" { file "/var/log/bind.log" versions 3; print-time yes; print-severity yes; print-category yes; severity info; }; category lame-servers { null; }; category "default" { "bind"; }; };

  • time sync with ntpd

    - by guthrie
I run Debian on several systems, and their times do not seem to stay in sync. I can run ntpdate manually, but I thought that I should have an ntpd running that would automate that. I did check with apt and apt-cache but don't find any ntpd (or associated ntpq), not any such names in my system (locate...), but ntp-doc does still describe them. Looking around I see that there is an ntpdate-debian command, and it uses /etc/default/ntpdate for servers (instead of the standard /etc/ntp.conf), but even thought that file is there and has "yes" indicated to use ntp.conf, it fails with "no servers can be used", although ntpdate works fine. Is this just a layer over ntpdate, any reason to use it instead? So, why are they missing, do I need them, how do I automate time updates? Associated, two of my machines are virtualized on a MSoft VM, how is it that their clocks drift, and both to different values? (The underlying Windows machine clock seems stable). I see a few old notes about time & ntp problems on VMware, didn't find anything either current or relating to MSoft VMs. Anything I did see says just to use ntpd, but as above, ...?!

  • How to set up IP forwarding on Nexenta (Solaris)?

    - by Gleb
I am trying to set up IP forwarding on my Nexenta box: root@hdd:~# uname -a SunOS hdd 5.11 NexentaOS_134f i86pc i386 i86pc Solaris The box has 2 network interfaces: root@hdd:~# ifconfig -a lo0: flags=2001000849<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv4,VIRTUAL> mtu 8232 index 1 inet 127.0.0.1 netmask ff000000 e1000g1: flags=1001100843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST,ROUTER,IPv4,FIXEDMTU> mtu 1500 index 2 inet 192.168.12.2 netmask ffffff00 broadcast 192.168.12.255 ether 68:5:ca:9:51:b8 myri10ge0: flags=1100843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST,ROUTER,IPv4> mtu 9000 index 3 inet 10.10.10.10 netmask ffffff00 broadcast 10.10.10.255 ether 0:60:dd:47:87:2 lo0: flags=2002000849<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv6,VIRTUAL> mtu 8252 index 1 inet6 ::1/128 192.168.12.0 is my normal LAN with 192.168.12.1 being the firewall/gateway 10.10.10.0 is a separate LAN for iSCSI (with no internet access) I want to set up IP forwarding so that a computer on 10.10.10.0 will be able to access the internet by using 10.10.10.10 as a gateway (I don't need any port forwarding) I have turned on IP forwarding: root@hdd:~# routeadm Configuration Current Current Option Configuration System State --------------------------------------------------------------- IPv4 routing disabled disabled IPv6 routing disabled disabled IPv4 forwarding enabled enabled IPv6 forwarding disabled disabled Routing services "route:default ripng:default" Routing daemons: STATE FMRI disabled svc:/network/routing/rdisc:default disabled svc:/network/routing/route:default disabled svc:/network/routing/legacy-routing:ipv4 disabled svc:/network/routing/legacy-routing:ipv6 disabled svc:/network/routing/ripng:default online svc:/network/routing/ndp:default But when I dry to start ipnat, I get an error: root@hdd:~# ipnat -CF -f /etc/ipf/ipnat.conf ioctl(SIOCGNATS): I/O error Here is the config: root@hdd:~# cat /etc/ipf/ipnat.conf #!/sbin/ipnat -f - # map e1000g1 10.10.10.10/24 -> 192.168.12.2/32 So the question is how to fix this.. • OpenSSL response 404 issue on centOS 6

    - by dsp_099
I followed this tutorial (though it's for 5.2, I figured I'd be alright). The changes I had to make that seemed to have worked: Rename ca.csr to ca.cslr (that's the one the command generated) List it in the ssl.conf as ca.cslr instead of ca.csr I have the following in the httpd.conf <VirtualHost *:80> DocumentRoot /etc/test ServerName site.com </VirtualHost> <VirtualHost *:433> SSLEngine on SSLCertificateFile /etc/pki/tls/certs/ca.crt SSLCertificateKeyFile /etc/pki/tls/private/ca.key <Directory /etc/test> AllowOverride All </Directory> DocumentRoot /etc/test ServerName cryptokings.com </VirtualHost> /test contains a folder inside of it, accessible via http://site.com/test/foo, however attempting to access it via https://site.com/test/foo results in warning that the certificate is untrusted (self-signed, no biggie) a 404 error. Chrome's complains about the certificate are the following: The identity of this website has not been verified. • Server's certificate does not match the URL. • Server's certificate is not trusted. I think those warnings are a side-effect of a self-signed certificate - or is the first one something that needs to be addressed? I seem to be able fetch the root page via https just fine though, it shows a standard CentOS setup page. (That said, I haven't added a VirtualHost entry for it so I suppose that makes sense) I think I've made a mistake somewhere during the setup as I'm not too familiar with the process. During setup, I was prompted for a type of password that would be required when apache restarts but running service httpd restart does not seem to prompt me for one. Any help would be appreciated.

  • How do I install the main repositories for RHEL6

    - by eisaacson
We've setup RHEL6 on a new server. As far as we can tell, our subscription is all setup properly. However, when I run yum repolist, it doesn't show any repositories. /etc/yum.repos.d/redhat.repo is empty. I tried pasting in the content from another RHEL6 server's redhat.repo but as soon as I run yum, it wipes it out again. I just need to get the basic RedHat repositories setup so I can install packages. EDIT: Using the GUI, I went to System Administration Red Hat Subscription Manager. Under the 'Products' tab, it did not show any products. EDIT: When I run yum update, here's what I get: # yum update Loaded plugins: product-id, refresh-packagekit, security, subscription-manager This system is receiving updates from Red Hat Subscription Management. Setting up Update Process No Packages marked for Update When I log in to RedHat customer portal, it shows that subscription as active. EDIT: To make sure I wasn't having a subscription issue. I re-registered and re-subscribed. I get all the same results. # subscription-manager register --force # subscription-manager subscribe --pool=*redacted* EDIT: contents of /etc/yum.conf [main] cachedir=/var/cache/yum/$basearch/$releasever keepcache=0 debuglevel=2 logfile=/var/log/yum.log exactarch=1 obsoletes=1 gpgcheck=1 plugins=1 installonly_limit=3 contents of /etc/yum/pluginconf.d/rhnplugin.conf: [main] enabled = 0 gpgcheck = 1

  • apache permission errors

    - by Wilduck
I'm trying to set up Apache on a arch-linux box as a testing environment (I'm only using the localhost, not trying to serve anything to the greater web). When setting up Django with mod_wsgi, it recommended that I set up a WSGIScriptAlias from / to /usr/local/django/mysite/apache/django.wsgi . I've done this, as well as added the /usr/.../apache directory to my httpd.conf. When I try to access http://localhost I get a 403 forbidden error. I have no idea why this is happening. Things I've tried so far: 1) chown -R http .../apache 2) chmod -R 777 .../apache 3) using a simple Alias directive to host a static file from that directory. None of these have worked. I'm at a loss for what I'm doing wrong. Below is a relevant excerpt from my httpd.conf: Alias / /usr/local/django/mysite/apache <Directory "/usr/local/django/mysite/apache"> Order deny, allow Allow from all </Directory> So my question is: what am I doing wrong?

  • Problem configuring php-fpm with nginx

    - by Nisanio
First of all: I'm not an expert in configuring things. This is very new for me, so, my apologies in advance. At work we have a Centos server. The guy who worked here before installed nginx. We need to made a php site, so, obviously, I need to set up php and make it work with nginx. Making short a very long tale, I had to replace the nginx binary with a new one (because the older was compile without fast-cgi), and I had to recompile and install php (because the new version has fpm). Then I struggle with the config files, making this nginx.conf (not all the file) user php; location ~ \.php$ { fastcgi_pass 127.0.0.1:9000; fastcgi_index index.php; fastcgi_param SCRIPT_FILENAME /scripts$fastcgi_script_name; include fastcgi_params; } and uncomment some parameters in php-fpm (to much to detail here, but the important is that group and user are "php") I never could start the php-fpm with the instructions of the book sudo /usr/sbin/php-fpm start But after look at the net, I found this sudo /usr/local/sbin/php-fpm --fpm-config=/usr/local/etc/php-fpm.conf This worked (I think) I restarted nginx. But... nothings happens with php... My calls to php files (via firefox) doesn't even appear in the log (/opt/nginx/logs/error.log) I'm really, really exhausted and lost... Could anyone help me, pleaaase.... :( Thanks in advance

  • How to prevent nginx from locking files on mounted samba partition in Centos 6

    - by Bruce Kirkpatrick
I'm using nginx 1.3.8 inside a centos 6.3 virtualbox 4.2.4 virtual machine. The system is running the latest software available via yum update. The host OS is windows 7. The site files nginx is serving are on mounted samba partition, which is a folder on the host Windows system. I.e., inside linux, nginx paths are referring to /home/vhosts and this is mounted from D:\vhosts\ on windows. The samba partition is mounted as root with 777 privileges. /etc/fstab looks like this, but with real ip, username, password: //hostip/vhosts /home/vhosts cifs username=username,password=SECRETPASSWORD,uid=root,gid=root,file_mode=0777,dir_mode=0777,rw,_netdev 0 0 I.e. linux/nginx reads from the windows share, and not the opposite. in /etc/samba/smb.conf, I have tried to disable all samba locking features, but it seems to have no effect even after rebooting the virtual machine. locking=no share modes=no oplocks = no level2 oplocks = no kernel oplocks =no I'm receiving "Access is denied" errors in Windows or linux when attempting to overwrite the javascript file in windows that has been accessed at least once with nginx. If I run "service nginx reload", the lock is removed and I'm able to save the file. That's why I think it is nginx causing the lock. The same problem occurs with directories. However, that may be a different issue not related to the use of samba. I'm using samba so that I can manage the source code outside of the virtual machine. Also note that after I run "service nginx reload", the file I'm editing is actually automatically deleted from the windows host. SOLVED: I just reviewed my nginx.conf file. It appears the "open_file_cache" feature is what is causing the lock and deleted files. When I set this option to open_file_cache off;, My problem is resolved. I will repost as the answer when it allows me to do so.

  • JavaScript is not pointing correctly on IIS7 running behind Apache mod_proxy

    - by sohum
So here's my setup. I've got a DynDNS account since I have a dynamic IP. I have Apache listening on port 80 and IIS7 on port 8080. I don't want users to have to enter in mydyndns.dyndns.com:8080 to get to IIS7, so I've added the following code to my Apache httpd.conf file to enable a proxy/reverse proxy: <VirtualHost *:80> ProxyPass / http://localhost:8080/myASPSite/ ProxyPassReverse / http://localhost:8080/myASPSite/ ServerName myaspsite.mydomain.com </VirtualHost> I've got a CNAME record set up on my DNS so that myaspsite.mydomain.com redirects to mydyndns.dyndns.com. When I type in myaspsite.mydomain.com into my browser, everything works beautifully... mostly. IIS7 serves up the ASPX pages and visitors to the site don't know any better. A problem arises, however, when I add Ajax Control Toolkit controls into my ASPX website, because these generate JavaScript and apparently mod_proxy_html isn't geared to handle the JS URIs properly. Sure enough, when I open up the source of my ASPX page, it has script elements as follows: <script src="/myASPSite/WebResource.axd?xyz" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="/myASPSite/ScriptResource.axd?xyz" type="text/javascript"></script> Sure enough, these scripts are attempting to be resolved at http://myaspsite.mydomain.com/myASPSite/WebResource..., which through the proxy translates to localhost:8080/myASPSite/myASPSite/.... How can I solve this problem. The couple of websites I found suggested turning on ProxyHTMLExtended but when I tried doing that, the server did not start. I'm guessing I didn't know how to do it properly. Anyone has a handy couple of config lines that I can add to my Apache conf file to get this working as I need? I'm using Apache 2.2.11. Thanks!

  • How do I get a subdomain on Xampp Apache @ localhost?

    - by jasondavis
**UPDATE- I got it working now, I just had to change to The port number is important here. I just modified my windows HOST file @ C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc and added this to the end of it 127.0.0.1 images.localhost 127.0.0.1 w-w-w.friendproject-.com 127.0.0.1 friendproject.-com Then I modified my httpd-vhosts.conf file on Apache under Xampp @ C:\webserver\apache\conf\extra Under the part where it shows examples for adding virtualhost I added this code below: NameVirtualHost *:80 <VirtualHost *:80> DocumentRoot /htdocs/images/ ServerName images.localhost </VirtualHost> <VirtualHost *:80> DocumentRoot /htdocs/ ServerName friendproject.com/ </VirtualHost> <VirtualHost *:80> DocumentRoot /htdocs/ ServerName w-ww-.friendproject.c-om/ </VirtualHost> Now the problem is when I go to any of the newly added domains in the browser I get this error below and even worse news is I now get this error even when going to http://localhost/ which worked fine before doing this I realize I can change everything back but I really need to at least get htt-p://im-ages.localhost to work. What do I do? Access forbidden! You don't have permission to access the requested directory. There is either no index document or the directory is read-protected. If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster . Error 403 localhost 07/25/09 21:20:14 Apache/2.2.11 (Win32) DAV/2 mod_ssl/2.2.11 OpenSSL/0.9.8i PHP/5.2.9

  • Apache 2 proxy for Tomcat 7

    - by hsnm
Following the how-to, I wanted to make a proxy for traffic to the address /app to be processed by Tomcat 7. I added this to my httpd.conf: LoadModule proxy_module {path-to-modules}/mod_proxy.so LoadModule deflate_module modules/mod_deflate.so ProxyPass /app http://localhost:8081 ProxyPassReverse /app http://localhost:8081 I also have this on my server.xml: <Connector port="8081" enableLookups="false" acceptCount="100" connectionTimeout="20000" proxyName="localhost" proxyPort="80"/> And I have the folder /var/lib/tomcat7/webapps/app with my application files. I restarted both Tomcat 7 and Apache 2 after doing the configurations above. Problem: When navigating to my webpage.com/app, I get the error 500. I consulted apache logs, it says: [warn] proxy: No protocol handler was valid for the URL /app. If you are using a DSO version of mod_proxy, make sure the proxy submodules are included in the configuration using LoadModule. Update: This is running in ubuntu. I resolved this by adding LoadModule proxy_http_module modules/mod_proxy_http.so to my httpd.conf. Now I have another question: How can I make this proxy to work on SSL through port 443?

  • Can't get port based virtual hosts working in Apache2.2 CentOS 5.2, Plesk 8.6

    - by soopadoubled
I have installed Google Sitemap Generator on my CentOS server, which is running plesk 8.6. Google Sitemap Generator adds an include to an external conf in my httpd.conf as follows: Listen 8181 NameVirtualHost *:8181 <VirtualHost *:8181> DocumentRoot "/usr/local/google-sitemap-generator/admin-console" ScriptAlias /cgi-bin/ "/usr/local/google-sitemap-generator/admin-console/cgi-bin/" <Directory "/usr/local/google-sitemap-generator/admin-console"> Allow from all Options ExecCGI DirectoryIndex index.html </Directory> </VirtualHost> LoadModule google_sitemap_generator_module /usr/local/google-sitemap-generator/lib/mod_sitemap.so After installation I should be able to navigate to myserverip:8181 and access the GSG console. Unfortunately my browser throws up "Safari can’t open the page “http://myserverip:8181/” because the server where this page is located isn’t responding." I've checked the port with netstat and nmap, and it's open and listening. I've added a rule to allow traffic on 8181 in iptables, but no joy. Is there anything obvious I could be missing? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Ian

  • Apache 403 Forbidden Error when accessing local web server using local IP address

    - by amjo324
I have an odd problem when attempting to browse to pages stored on a local web server (Apache 2.2). The pages are served as expected when I browse to localhost or 127.0.0.1 on port 80. Yet when I attempt to browse to the same pages by referencing the local IP address (192.168.x.x), I receive a HTTP 403 (Forbidden) error. In essence, http://localhost:80 works but 192.168.x.x:80 doesn't even though I'm specifying the IP of the local machine. You may be thinking "who cares? just use localhost". However, this is the first step in troubleshooting why I cannot remotely access these pages from different hosts on my LAN. I'm presuming this can't be a firewall issue as I'm only connecting to the local machine. Even so, I verified there was no iptables rules that could be having an effect. I've checked the Apache error logs and the corresponding line of relevance is: [Sat Oct 19 07:38:35 2013] [error] [client 192.168.x.x] client denied by server configuration: /var/www/ I've inspected most of the apache config files and they don't appear to differ from what you would expect with a default install. I can't see anything in apache2.conf that would be a problem and httpd.conf is an empty file. This is an excerpt from /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/000-default: <VirtualHost *:80> ServerAdmin webmaster@localhost DocumentRoot /var/www <Directory /> Options FollowSymLinks AllowOverride None </Directory> <Directory /var/www/> Options Indexes FollowSymLinks MultiViews AllowOverride All Order allow, deny allow from all </Directory> Any insight as to where I can look next to find a solution ? Thanks in advance.

I'd expect that the error_page directive would kick in in response to PHP-FPM not being able to find given files as I have fastcgi_intercept_errors on; in http block and nave error_page set up, but I'm guessing the request fails even before that somewhere on internal redirects. Any help would be much appreciated.

  • Nginx - Enable PHP for all hosts

    - by F21
I am currently testing out nginx and have set up some virtual hosts by putting configurations for each virtual host in its own file in a folder called sites-enabled. I then ask nginx to load all those config files using: include C:/nginx/sites-enabled/*.conf; This is my current config: http { server_names_hash_bucket_size 64; include mime.types; include C:/nginx/sites-enabled/*.conf; default_type application/octet-stream; sendfile on; keepalive_timeout 65; server { listen 80; root C:/www-root; #charset koi8-r; #access_log logs/host.access.log main; location / { index index.html index.htm index.php; } # redirect server error pages to the static page /50x.html # error_page 500 502 503 504 /50x.html; location = /50x.html { root html; } location ~ \.php$ { fastcgi_pass 127.0.0.1:9000; fastcgi_index index.php; fastcgi_param SCRIPT_FILENAME $document_root$fastcgi_script_name; include fastcgi_params; } } server{ server_name localhost; } } And this is one of the configs for a virtual host: server { server_name testsubdomain.testdomain.com root C:/www-root/testsubdomain.testdomain.com; } The problem is that for testsubdomain.testdomain.com, I cannot get php scripts to run unless I have defined a location block with fastcgi parameters for it. What I would like to do is to be able to enable PHP for all hosted sites on this server (without having to add a PHP location block with fastcgi parameters) for maintainability. This is so that if I need to change any fastcgi values for PHP, I can just change it in 1 location. Is this something that's possible for nginx? If so, how can this be done?

  • Cannot login to zabbix web portal

    - by hlx98007
I've managed to install Zabbix22-server on CentOS 6.x along with php-fpm and nginx. I can view the page of 127.0.0.1 but I can only see this: After clicking the "Login" button, the page is the same: What can I do to make it work as expected, so that I can login as admin? Here are some confs: nginx_zabbix.conf: server { listen 80; add_header X-Frame-Options "SAMEORIGIN"; access_log /var/log/nginx/zabbix.log; error_log /var/log/nginx/zabbix.err.log; client_max_body_size 500M; # This folder is a soft link to /usr/share/zabbix # the permssion has been set to nginx:nginx recursively. root /var/www/zabbix; location / { index index.html index.htm index.php; } location ~ \.php$ { fastcgi_pass 127.0.0.1:9000; fastcgi_index index.php; include fastcgi.conf; fastcgi_param PATH_INFO $path_info; } } php-fpm is using its default values, with permission user/group set to nginx (rather than apache) Folder /var/lib/php/session has been set to nginx:nginx with permission 770. SELinux is set to disabled. I've restarted everything up to this point.

  • exim4 to relay emails

    - by Matthieu
I have exim4 installed on a Linux box. The basics work fine and I can send email from that machine without any problem to whatever email address. I also have a printer/scanner which is capable to send scans as emails. It needs an SMTP gateway to be able to do that. So I give the IP address of that Linux box, changed the configuration a little bit but still cannot get it to work. After I run dpkg-reconfigure exim4-config, here is what I get in /etc/exim4/update-exim4.conf.conf : dc_eximconfig_configtype='internet' dc_other_hostnames='' dc_local_interfaces='127.0.0.1;192.168.2.2' dc_readhost='' dc_relay_domains='mycompanyemail.com' dc_minimaldns='false' dc_relay_nets='192.168.2.0/24' dc_smarthost='' CFILEMODE='644' dc_use_split_config='false' dc_hide_mailname='' dc_mailname_in_oh='true' dc_localdelivery='mail_spool' My problem is that with this configuration, I can only send to emails @mycompanyemail.com... It says I can use wildcard, but when I do that, the '*' is replaced by whatever filename is in the directory where I run all that. How can I configure it to be able to send emails with any domain ? Or am I doing it wrong ? EDIT : here is the part of the log that's causing trouble : 2011-08-03 16:28:18 H=(NPI2D389C) [192.168.2.20] F=<[email protected]> rejected RCPT <[email protected]>: relay not permitted The first part ([email protected]) does not matter. I changed the email address. The point is that if this email is @mycompanyemail.com then everything works fine. Anything else does not work. I could add gmail.com, but I am looking to have any domain working...

  • ghc6 install trouble: hGetContents: invalid argument (invalid UTF-8 byte sequence)

    - by olimay
Having trouble installing ghc6 on Ubuntu Maverick via apt. Here's what seems to be the relevant error that comes up when I try to (apt-get|aptitude) install ghc6: A package failed to install. Trying to recover: Setting up ghc6 (6.12.1-13ubuntu1) ... ghc-pkg: /home/opm/.ghc/i386-linux-6.12.1/package.conf.d/unix-compat-0.2-edefa7bced91ebe610d455bab466e200.conf: hGetContents: invalid argument (invalid UTF-8 byte sequence) (Here's the full output, if you're interested: http://paste.ubuntu.com/566475/ ) This still happens after apt-get clean and apt-get update. My searching around has not really helped me understand what's going on, except that it might be caused by a mismatch in locale. So, here's the output of locale too: LANG=en_US.utf8 LANGUAGE=en_US:en LC_CTYPE="en_US.utf8" LC_NUMERIC="en_US.utf8" LC_TIME="en_US.utf8" LC_COLLATE="en_US.utf8" LC_MONETARY="en_US.utf8" LC_MESSAGES="en_US.utf8" LC_PAPER="en_US.utf8" LC_NAME="en_US.utf8" LC_ADDRESS="en_US.utf8" LC_TELEPHONE="en_US.utf8" LC_MEASUREMENT="en_US.utf8" LC_IDENTIFICATION="en_US.utf8" LC_ALL= Any ideas? Additional background: this all seems very strange to me, because I used to have ghc6 installed correctly--I use XMonad as my main window manager most of the time. I tried to install haskell-platform (through apt), which failed and told me that there was something wrong with ghc6, and so I reinstalled ghc6 and began to get the above error message.

  • httpd Redirect / Rewrite .com to .org

    - by David W
I am trying to redirect a www.example.com to www.example.org. I cannot figure out what I'm doing wrong. I have ensured that mod_rewrite is enabled in httpd.conf with: LoadModule rewrite_module modules/mod_rewrite.so I further verify this by running: httpd -M and getting rewrite_module (shared) included in the results. Later in the same httpd.conf file is the VirtualHost directive where I am trying to perform the rewrite: <VirtualHost *:80> Options +FollowSymlinks RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^example.com [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.example.org/$1 [R=301,NC,L] ServerAdmin [email protected] DocumentRoot /var/www/html ServerName example.org ServerAlias www.example.org *.example.org <Directory "/var/www/html"> Options Includes FollowSymLinks AllowOverride All Order allow, deny Allow from all </Directory> ErrorLog /var/www/logs/error_log CustomLog /var/www/logs/access_log common </VirtualHost> As we can see, we are following SymLinks in the directory (which I believe is a requirement), AND we allow All Overrides (which meets another requirement). But obviously I'm still doing something wrong. Can you spot it?

  • Apache start failing after apache config modifications, showing syntax error, cannot load php5apache2_2.dll into server

    - by Sandeepan Nath
I am stuck again with apache setup guys. I am working on a Windows 7 system. I copied the working php5 installation directory from teammates, copied the necessary .dll files from inside php5 installation folder (like they were in the working setup of teammates) to my windows/system32/. Apache server started successfully with the default apache config file. I was able to access localhost in browser. But php code was not parsing. I noticed no such line like the following in the apache config file:- # PHP5 module LoadModule php5_module D:/php5/php5apache2_2.dll If I add this line, apache server start fails. Running test configuration gives the following error - httpd.exe: Syntax error on line 60 of C:/Program Files (x86)/Apache Software Foundation/Apache2.2/conf/httpd.conf: Cannot load D:/php5/php5apache2_2.dll into server: The specified procedure could not be found. But the dll file is there in the specified location and I have given all permissions to the current system user to the php5 installation directory. The same line also appears in the apache error log, though I am not sure when exactly logs are written to the log file. I am confused if log entries are not made if I have opened the log file for reading? lol ... because I could not observe a pattern in when entries are made. I saw some log entries being made, some not. Oh, why is apache setup such a headache always????

I have a node webapp up and running with my nginx on debian squeeze.
