  • How can I get `find` to ignore .svn directories?

    - by John Kugelman
    I often use the find command to search through source code, delete files, whatever. Annoyingly, because Subversion stores duplicates of each file in its .svn/text-base/ directories my simple searches end up getting lots of duplicate results. For example, I want to recursively search for uint in multiple messages.h and messages.cpp files: # find -name 'messages.*' -exec grep -Iw uint {} + ./messages.cpp: Log::verbose << "Discarding out of date message: id " << uint(olderMessage.id) ./messages.cpp: Log::verbose << "Added to send queue: " << *message << ": id " << uint(preparedMessage->id) ./messages.cpp: Log::error << "Received message with invalid SHA-1 hash: id " << uint(incomingMessage.id) ./messages.cpp: Log::verbose << "Received " << *message << ": id " << uint(incomingMessage.id) ./messages.cpp: Log::verbose << "Sent message: id " << uint(preparedMessage->id) ./messages.cpp: Log::verbose << "Discarding unsent message: id " << uint(preparedMessage->id) ./messages.cpp: for (uint i = 0; i < 10 && !_stopThreads; ++i) { ./.svn/text-base/messages.cpp.svn-base: Log::verbose << "Discarding out of date message: id " << uint(olderMessage.id) ./.svn/text-base/messages.cpp.svn-base: Log::verbose << "Added to send queue: " << *message << ": id " << uint(preparedMessage->id) ./.svn/text-base/messages.cpp.svn-base: Log::error << "Received message with invalid SHA-1 hash: id " << uint(incomingMessage.id) ./.svn/text-base/messages.cpp.svn-base: Log::verbose << "Received " << *message << ": id " << uint(incomingMessage.id) ./.svn/text-base/messages.cpp.svn-base: Log::verbose << "Sent message: id " << uint(preparedMessage->id) ./.svn/text-base/messages.cpp.svn-base: Log::verbose << "Discarding unsent message: id " << uint(preparedMessage->id) ./.svn/text-base/messages.cpp.svn-base: for (uint i = 0; i < 10 && !_stopThreads; ++i) { ./virus/messages.cpp:void VsMessageProcessor::_progress(const string &fileName, uint scanCount) ./virus/messages.cpp:ProgressMessage::ProgressMessage(const string &fileName, uint scanCount) ./virus/messages.h: void _progress(const std::string &fileName, uint scanCount); ./virus/messages.h: ProgressMessage(const std::string &fileName, uint scanCount); ./virus/messages.h: uint _scanCount; ./virus/.svn/text-base/messages.cpp.svn-base:void VsMessageProcessor::_progress(const string &fileName, uint scanCount) ./virus/.svn/text-base/messages.cpp.svn-base:ProgressMessage::ProgressMessage(const string &fileName, uint scanCount) ./virus/.svn/text-base/messages.h.svn-base: void _progress(const std::string &fileName, uint scanCount); ./virus/.svn/text-base/messages.h.svn-base: ProgressMessage(const std::string &fileName, uint scanCount); ./virus/.svn/text-base/messages.h.svn-base: uint _scanCount; How can I tell find to ignore the .svn directories?

  • How can I receive mouse events when a wrapped control has set capture?

    - by Greg
My WndProc isn't seeing mouse-up notifications when I click with a modifier key (shift or control) pressed. I see them without the modifier key, and I see mouse-down notifications with the modifier keys. I'm trying to track user actions in a component I didn't write, so I'm using the Windows Forms NativeWindow wrapper (wrapping the component) to get Windows messages from the WndProc() method. I've tried tracking the notifications I do get, and I the only clue I see is WM_CAPTURECHANGED. I've tried calling SetCapture when I receive the WM_LBUTTONDOWN message, but it doesn't help. Without modifier (skipping paint, timer and NCHITTEST messages): WM_PARENTNOTIFY WM_MOUSEACTIVATE WM_MOUSEACTIVATE WM_SETCURSOR WM_LBUTTONDOWN WM_SETCURSOR WM_MOUSEMOVE WM_SETCURSOR WM_LBUTTONUP With modifier (skipping paint, timer and NCHITTEST messages): WM_KEYDOWN WM_PARENTNOTIFY WM_MOUSEACTIVATE WM_MOUSEACTIVATE WM_SETCURSOR WM_LBUTTONDOWN WM_SETCURSOR (repeats) WM_KEYDOWN (repeats) WM_KEYUP If I hold the mouse button down for a long time, I can usually get a WM_LBUTTONUP notification, but it should be possible to make it more responsive.. Edit: I've tried control-clicking outside of the component of interest and moving the cursor into it before releasing the mouse button, and then I do get a WM_LBUTTONUP notification, so it looks like the component is capturing the mouse on mouse-down. Is there any way to receive that notification when another window has captured the mouse? Thanks.

  • Biztalk suspended messages in database

    - by WtFudgE
Hi, I was wondering if some1 knows where I can see the data of a suspended message in the biztalk database. I need this because about 900 messages have been suspended because of a validation and I need to edit all of them, resuming isn't possible. I know that info of suspended messages are shown in "BizTalkMsgBoxDb" in the table "InstancesSuspended" and that the different parts of each message are shown in the table "MessageParts". However I can't find the table where the actual data is stored. Does anyone have any idea where this can be done? Thx

  • Strange jboss console error

    - by c0mrade
Hello everyone, I'm creating additional module to already multi-module maven project. And for this one I want everything to be like in other modules(meaning dependencies) just to test hello world, then I'll go do some more complex stuff. And it does print hello world as it should when deployed onto jboss server, but I get some strange error on console, had anyone had similar experience? and how can I fix it? Here it is : 15:48:35,789 ERROR [STDERR] log4j:ERROR A "org.jboss.logging.appender.FileAppender" object is not assignable to a "org.apache.log4j.Appender" variable. 15:48:35,789 ERROR [STDERR] log4j:ERROR The class "org.apache.log4j.Appender" was loaded by 15:48:35,790 ERROR [STDERR] log4j:ERROR [BaseClassLoader@9a8d9b{vfszip:/C:/jboss-5.1.0.GA/server/default/deploy/new-module-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.war/}] whereas object of type 15:48:35,790 ERROR [STDERR] log4j:ERROR "org.jboss.logging.appender.FileAppender" was loaded by [org.jboss.bootstrap.NoAnnotationURLClassLoader@506411]. 15:48:35,790 ERROR [STDERR] log4j:ERROR Could not instantiate appender named "FILE".

  • nServiceBus with large XML messages

    - by Sean
Hello, I have read about the true messaging and that instead of sending payload on the bus, it sends an identifier. In our case, we have a lot of legacy apps/services and those were designed to receive the payload of messages (xml) that is close to 4MB (close MSMQ limit). Is there a way for nService bus to handle large payload and persist messages automatically or another work-around, so that the publisher/subscriber services don't have to worry neither about the payload size, nor about how to de/re-hydrate the payload? Thank you in advance.

  • Cocoa: getting a Table View cell to send action messages

    - by underthetable
I'm really having trouble getting a Cocoa Table View cell to send action messages. At the most basic level, in IB there is an action assigned for the NSTextViewCell object, and after editing and pressing Return nothing happens. So I have an IBOutlet hooked up to the NSTextViewCell, and have been experimenting with NSActionCell messages to it. But the Table View seems to pretty much just ignore them. I've also tried subclassing NSTextViewCell, but the methods I'm seeing all look like they want to pass values to the object from somewhere, not return a value from inside the object to configure its behavior. I'm pretty new to programming and Cocoa -- can someone explain each thing that needs to be overridden and how and where to do it?

  • NativeWindow WndProc not receiving messages

    - by BadNinja
    Could someone shed some light on why my WndProc method as implemented below isn't receiving any messages? If I put this class below in a WinForms application and pass in that application's handle, WndProc receives messages as I would expect. However, using the IntPtr returned from GetForegroundWindow() as I have below doesn't yield the same results. (FWIW, I have my code set up to execute GetForegroundWindow() when my application is hidden, so I'm certain that the IntPtr is referring to an outside application.) public class MyNativeWindow : NativeWindow { [DllImport("user32.dll", ExactSpelling = true, SetLastError = true)] private static extern IntPtr GetForegroundWindow(); public MyNativeWindow() { this.AssignHandle(GetForegroundWindow()); } // Never called... I set a breakpoint [System.Security.Permissions.PermissionSet(System.Security.Permissions.SecurityAction.Demand, Name = "FullTrust")] protected override void WndProc(ref Message m) { base.WndProc(ref m); } }

  • How to get descriptive error messages from DB2?

    - by tangens
When I call a SQL statement via JDBC on the DB2 and the statement fails, I catch an SQLException with the following message text: com.ibm.db2.jcc.a.nn: DB2 SQL Error: SQLCODE=-206, SQLSTATE=42703, SQLERRMC=O.METADATENSATZ, DRIVER=3.52.95 I tried an automatic translation of the message according to the error list published by IBM, but there are placeholders inside the messages referencing other elements of the exception. While looking for these elements inside the exception, I found the DB2ExceptionFormatter and tried to use it to access the missing elements. But here I stopped, because the DB2ExceptionFormatter gave me a clue: Error occurred while trying to obtain message text from server. Only message tokens are available. So my question is: What do I have to configure to get the correct messages from the DB2 server? If I can get a human readable message from the server, I could use it directly and wouldn't have to translate it by myself.

  • python Socket.IO client for sending broadcast messages to TornadIO2 server

    - by Alp
I am building a realtime web application. I want to be able to send broadcast messages from the server-side implementation of my python application. Here is the setup: socketio.js on the client-side TornadIO2 server as Socket.IO server python on the server-side (Django framework) I can succesfully send socket.io messages from the client to the server. The server handles these and can send a response. In the following i will describe how i did that. Current Setup and Code First, we need to define a Connection which handles socket.io events: class BaseConnection(tornadio2.SocketConnection): def on_message(self, message): pass # will be run if client uses socket.emit('connect', username) @event def connect(self, username): # send answer to client which will be handled by socket.on('log', function) self.emit('log', 'hello ' + username) Starting the server is done by a Django management custom method: class Command(BaseCommand): args = '' help = 'Starts the TornadIO2 server for handling socket.io connections' def handle(self, *args, **kwargs): autoreload.main(self.run, args, kwargs) def run(self, *args, **kwargs): port = settings.SOCKETIO_PORT router = tornadio2.TornadioRouter(BaseConnection) application = tornado.web.Application( router.urls, socket_io_port = port ) print 'Starting socket.io server on port %s' % port server = SocketServer(application) Very well, the server runs now. Let's add the client code: <script type="text/javascript"> var sio = io.connect('localhost:9000'); sio.on('connect', function(data) { console.log('connected'); sio.emit('connect', '{{ user.username }}'); }); sio.on('log', function(data) { console.log("log: " + data); }); </script> Obviously, {{ user.username }} will be replaced by the username of the currently logged in user, in this example the username is "alp". Now, every time the page gets refreshed, the console output is: connected log: hello alp Therefore, invoking messages and sending responses works. But now comes the tricky part. Problems The response "hello alp" is sent only to the invoker of the socket.io message. I want to broadcast a message to all connected clients, so that they can be informed in realtime if a new user joins the party (for example in a chat application). So, here are my questions: How can i send a broadcast message to all connected clients? How can i send a broadcast message to multiple connected clients that are subscribed on a specific channel? How can i send a broadcast message anywhere in my python code (outside of the BaseConnection class)? Would this require some sort of Socket.IO client for python or is this builtin with TornadIO2? All these broadcasts should be done in a reliable way, so i guess websockets are the best choice. But i am open to all good solutions.

  • RabbitMQ serializing messages from queue with multiple consumers

    - by Refefer
Hi there, I'm having a problem where I have a queue set up in shared mode and multiple consumers bound to it. The issue is that it appears that rabbitmq is serializing the messages, that is, only one consumer at a time is able to run. I need this to be parallel, however, I can't seem to figure out how. Each consumer is running in its own process. There are plenty of messages in the queue. I'm using py-amqplib to interface with RabbitMQ. Any thoughts?

  • sending instant messages through python (msn)

    - by code_by_night
ok I am well aware there are many other questions about this, but I have been searching and have yet to find a solid proper answer that doesnt revolve around jabber or something worse. (no offense to jabber users, just I don't want all the extras that come with it) I currently have msnp and twisted.words, I simply want to send and receive messages, have read many examples that have failed to work, and msnp is poorly documented. My preference is msnp as it requires much less code, I'm not looking for something complicated. Using this code I can login, and view my friends that are online (can't send them messages though.): import msnp import time, threading msn = msnp.Session() msn.login('[email protected]', 'XXXXXX') msn.sync_friend_list() class MSN_Thread(threading.Thread): def run(self): msn.start_chat("[email protected]") #this does not work while True: msn.process() time.sleep(1) start_msn = MSN_Thread() start_msn.start() I hope I have been clear enough, its pretty late and my head is not in a clear state after all this msn frustration. edit: since it seems msnp is extremely outdated could anyone recommend with simple examples on how I could achieve this? Don't need anything fancy that requires other accounts.

  • ruby tests - error messages don't include line numbers or file name

    - by joshs
Hi all, How do I get line numbers to be reported with my errors when testing. Here is what I get back on a typical error: josh@josh-laptop:~/d/test$ ruby unit/line_test.rb -n test_update Loaded suite unit/line_test Started E Finished in 0.066663 seconds. 1) Error: test_update(LineTest): NameError: undefined local variable or method `sdf' for #<LineTest:0xb6e61304> 1 tests, 0 assertions, 0 failures, 1 errors It is tough to debug without a line number and filename. From the code samples I've seen, people generally get back a more verbose error reports. How do I enable this? Thanks!

  • Return database messages on successful SQL execution when using ADO

    - by peacedog
I'm working on a legacy VB6 app here at work, and it has been a long time since I've looked at VB6 or ADO. One thing the app does is to executes SQL Tasks and then to output the success/failure into an XML file. If there is an error it inserts the text the task node. What I have been asked to do is try and do the same with the other mundane messages that result from succesfully executed tasks, like (323 row(s) affected). There is no command object being used, it's just an ADODB.Connection object. Here is the gist of the code: Dim sqlStatement As String Set sqlStatement = /* sql for task */ Dim sqlConn As ADODB.Connection Set sqlConn = /* connection magic */ sqlConn.Execute sqlStatement, , adExecuteNoRecords What is the best way for me to capture the non-error messages so I can output them? Or is it even possible?

  • Formatting Log File Messages

    - by Kumar
This is about formatting the messages for logging so as to subsequently be able to parse them relatively easily esp. given the extensive logging required in financial apps Typically a line in the log file is of the form TimeStamp: Module/Function: where the log string contains whatever you choose, typically you'd have some key=value paradigm or even johnny5 key {value} etc. A regex search through the log file might easily pick up Module/Function but enforcing and maintaing consistency on the log string itself for every developer on the team is often a pain The logging api's are typically ILog.LogInfo(string text, params object[] args) ILog.LogWarning(string text, params object[] args) ILog.LogError(string text, params object[] args) Looking for opinions on better logging api's to format the log messages where a regex search can be performed for Module/Function = Basket/AddItem TokenA = Value1 and TokenB = Value2 etc. without going over every developer's every logging call

  • How to sanitize log messages in Log4j to save them in database

    - by Rafael
    Hello, I'm trying to save log messages to a central database. In order to do this, I configured the following Appender in log4j's xml configuration: <appender name="DB" class="org.apache.log4j.jdbc.JDBCAppender"> <param name="URL" value="jdbc:postgresql://localhost/logging_test" /> <param name="user" value="test_user" /> <param name="password" value="test_password" /> <param name="sql" value="INSERT INTO log_messages ( log_level, message, log_date ) VALUES ( '%p', '%m', '%d{yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm:ss}' )" /> </appender> This works fine, except some of the messages contain ', and then the appender fails. Is there an easy way to do this?

  • How to retrieve all errors and messages from a query using ADO

    - by Johan Levin
When a SQL batch returns more than one message from e.g. print statements, then I can only retrieve the first one using the ADO connection's Errors collection. How do I get the rest of the messages? If I run this script: Option Explicit Dim conn Set conn = CreateObject("ADODB.Connection") conn.Provider = "SQLOLEDB" conn.ConnectionString = "Data Source=(local);Integrated Security=SSPI;Initial Catalog=Master" conn.Open conn.Execute("print 'Foo'" & vbCrLf & "print 'Bar'" & vbCrLf & "raiserror ('xyz', 10, 127)") Dim error For Each error in conn.Errors MsgBox error.Description Next Then I only get "Foo" back, never "Bar" or "xyz". Is there a way to get the remaining messages?
