I am using a fileupload on the page where they can find the document and copy the path and then paste it into the details view.     The argument my C# function is getting is a string which is merely a Date or a DateTime. I am suppose to convert this String to DateTime, to carry on furthure calculation. Now I need to test whether the incoming data is a Date, if it is date(examle:"12/31/2009"), then I need to add "00:00:00" (24 hours format) to it, so that it will become "12/31/2009 00:00:00". If string manipulation is one possible way, I want to confirm whether there is some other way where we can automate the testing and conversion within DateTime.TryParseExact() method.   • Updating a specific key/value inside of an array field with MongoDB

    As a preface, I've been working with MongoDB for about a week now, so this may turn out to be a pretty simple answer. I have data already stored in my collection, we will call this collection content, as it contains articles, news, etc. Each of these articles contains another array called author which has all of the author's information (Address, Phone, Title, etc). The Goal - I am trying to create a query that will update the author's address on every article that the specific author exists in, and only the specified author block (not others that exist within the array). Sort of a "Global Update" to a specific article that affects his/her information on every piece of content that exists. I thought I was on the right track, and here's what I've tried. b.content.update( {authors: {$elemMatch: {slug: 'joe-somebody'} } }, {$set: {address: '1234 Avenue Rd.'} }, false, true ); I just believe there's something I am missing in the $set statement to specify the correct author and point inside of the correct array.   • Fill in word form field with more than 255 characters

    I am trying to programmaticly fill in a microsoft word form. I am successfully able to do so if the string is under 255 chars with the following code below, however it says the string is too long if i try and use a string over 255 chars... How do I get past this limitation? If I open the word doc in word I can type in more than 255 chars without a problem.     So I have two tables students (PK sID) and mentors (PK pID). This query SELECT s.pID FROM students s JOIN mentors m ON s.pID = m.pID WHERE m.tags LIKE '%a%' ORDER BY s.sID DESC; delivers this result pID ------------- 9 9 3 9 3 9 9 9 10 9 3 10 etc... I am trying to get a list of distinct mentor ID's with this ordering so I am looking for the SQL to produce pID ------------- 9 3 10 If I simply insert a DISTINCT in the SELECT clause I get an unexpected result of 10, 9, 3 (wrong order). Any help much appreciated.

    Good evening, I am developing a set of Java classes so that a container class Box contains a List of a contained class Widget. A Widget needs to be able to specify relationships with other Widgets. I figured a good way to do this would be to do something like this: public abstract class Widget { public static class WidgetID { // implementation stolen from Google's GWT private static int nextHashCode; private final int index; public WidgetID() { index = ++nextHashCode; } public final int hashCode() { return index; } } public abstract WidgetID getWidgetID(); } so sublcasses of Widget could: public class BlueWidget extends Widget { public static final WidgetID WIDGETID = new WidgetID(); @Override public WidgetID getWidgetID() { return WIDGETID; } } Now, BlueWidget can do getBox().addWidgetRelationship(RelationshipTypes.SomeType, RedWidget.WIDGETID, and Box can iterate through it's list comparing the second parameter to iter.next().getWidgetID(). Now, all this works great so far. What I'm trying to do is keep from having to declare the public static final WidgetID WIDGETID in all the subclasses and implement it instead in the parent Widget class. The problem is, if I move that line of code into Widget, then every instance of a subclass of Widget appears to get the same static final WidgetID for their Subclassname.WIDGETID. However, making it non-static means I can no longer even call Subclassname.WIDGETID. So: how do I create a static WidgetID in the parent Widget class while ensuring it is different for every instance of Widget and subclasses of Widget? Or am I using the wrong tool for the job here? For instance instead of IQueryable of Users I may have an IQueryable of Cars and instead of firstname and surname the search goes off Make and Model. Basically the goal is to reuse the search logic by dynamically selecting what to search on at runtime.

  • Phonegap - iOS keyboard is not hiding on outside tap of input field

    On input text focus, keyboard appears as expected. But when I click outside of the input text, keyboard does not hide. I am using java script and jQuery. With jQueryMobile JS and CSS - page behaves correctly. But for this project we are not using jQueryMobile. This problem is only with iOS simulator/device. With Android, it's working perfectly fine. I even tried using document.activeElement.blur(); on outer element click/tap. But then I am unable to focus to input text, because that input text is inside that outer element.

  • Django: How to dynamically add tag field to third party apps without touching app's source code

    Scenario: large project with many third party apps. Want to add tagging to those apps without having to modify the apps' source. My first thought was to first specify a list of models in settings.py (like ['appname.modelname',], and call django-tagging's register function on each of them. The register function adds a TagField and a custom manager to the specified model. The problem with that approach is that the function needs to run BEFORE the DB schema is generated. I tried running the register function directly in settings.py, but I need django.db.models.get_model to get the actual model reference from only a string, and I can't seem to import that from settings.py - no matter what I try I get an ImportError. The tagging.register function imports OK however. So I changed tactics and wrote a custom management command in an otherwise empty app. The problem there is that the only signal which hooks into syncdb is post_syncdb which is useless to me since it fires after the DB schema has been generated. The only other approach I can think of at the moment is to generate and run a 'south' like database schema migration. This seems more like a hack than a solution. This seems like it should be a pretty common need, but I haven't been able to find a clean solution. So my question is: Is it possible to dynamically add fields to a model BEFORE the schema is generated, but more specifically, is it possible to add tagging to a third party model without editing it's source. To clarify, I know it is possible to create and store Tags without having a TagField on the model, but there is a major flaw in that approach in that it is difficult to simultaneously create and tag a new model.

    I have a text column varchar(4000) with text: 'aaabbaaacbaaaccc' and I need to remove all duplicated chars - so only one from sequence left: 'abacbac' It should not be a function, Procedure or CLR - Regex solution. Only true SQL select. Currently I think about using recursive WITH clause with replace 'aa'-'a', 'bb'-'b', 'cc'-'c'. So recursion should cycle until all duplicated sequences of that chars would be replaced. DO you have another solution, perhaps more Permormant one? PS: I searched through this site about different replace examples - they didnt suit to this case.

    I have created a table with draggable rows. Unfortunately, most of the rows are covered with a large textbox input element. In order to drag the rows, you have to grab the row on the very edge just outside of the textbox. Is there a way to allow the rows to be grabbed through the textboxes without destroying the textbox functionality? (i.e. relay the mouse drag event, but not the mouseclick event?)
