    I am working in driver development in linux USB modules. I have written driver for usb and it is working as cd rom in windows machine 1)I made first partation as fat32 "modprobe g_hidmass file=/dev/mmcblk0p1 cdrom=1 stall=0 removable=1" this works fine in windows 2)I made first partation as hfs partation "modprobe g_hidmass file=/dev/mmcblk0p1 cdrom=1 stall=0 removable=1" but same thing i applied with hfs partation in MAC it is getting error like this "The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer" in diskutil it is shown as CD-rom but not reading the file system. frame like this Please help me how can I overcome this error...

    I have exactly the same problem as the fellow from this post - http://jenkins.361315.n4.nabble.com/Tag-this-build-not-working-subversion-td384218.html, except that I use build 1.413 Unfortunately, the post does not provide any workarounds except downgrading to 1.310 (from 1.315) I would gladly provide the logs, if I knew the logger names. Please, help. P.S. I have posted this issue both on jenkins issues site - https://issues.jenkins-ci.org/browse/JENKINS-9961 and in the respective google group - https://groups.google.com/d/topic/jenkinsci-users/4UVKFxXA9Jo/overview. To no avail. So, this site is my last hope - thanks to all in advance. EDIT Upgraded to 1.417 - still tagging does nothing.

  • emacs does not open a file from argument and syntax highlight does not work

    In my latest ubuntu box, When I type for example emacs ~/.bashrc, Emacs will start but not open .bashrc. This is true for any file I pass in. I've used Emacs for several years, and have never experienced this problem before. I added (global-font-lock-mode 1);; to my .emacs file, and Emacs does recognize it, for example. "(C++/; Abbrev)", but it won't do syntax highlighting. If you can solve any of these problems, it will be very appreciated.   • AA doesn't work due to monitor?

    I have a monitor (with TV tuner - Philips 221T1SB), native resolution of 1920x1080, but there is an Overscan in Catalyst. It says from left to right '10%' and '0%', if i set it (all the way to the left) on 10%, i get screen with black borders (you know what i mean), but if i set it to 0%, i get a filled monitor. It does make sense, but why the hell is there such an option? I never had any AA issues before, but now, with this monitor, here they go. I can't find any solution, i have only one lead = overscan, or pretty much anything with the CCC settings. Yes, i almost forgot. After a bit of trying to configure the monitor with remote, i found there is a PC channel option, few other channels, and then a HDMI option. I have monitor through HDMI, but why i get black screen when i select the PC channel? That might be another problem. I tried almost everything. Please guys, give me a hand. I don't want jaggies!   • Can't get sync with SVN to work to put a directory under version control

    I've created a directory on our SVN server and added a local directory with my project to it. It got uploaded and seems to be OK. However, I didn't get those cute green (or any others) icons on the file. So I clicked on the project's directory and used "checkout". That wasn't good because I've downloaded ALL of the repository. How can I synchronize my uploaded directory with it's corresponding directory on the server? (It's probably something easy that I've forgot to check in or so...)

  • Does nginx auth_basic work over HTTPS?

    I've been trying to setup a password protected directory in a SSL website as follows: /etc/nginx/sites-available/default server { listen 443: ssl on; ssl_certificate /usr/certs/server.crt; ssl_certificate_key /usr/certs/server.key; server_name server1.example.com; root /var/www/example.com/htdocs/; index index.html; location /secure/ { auth_basic "Restricted"; auth_basic_user_file /var/www/example.com/.htpasswd; } } The problem is when I try to access the URL https://server1.example.com/secure/, I get a "404: Not Found" error page. My error.log shows the following error: 011/11/26 03:09:06 [error] 10913#0: *1 no user/password was provided for basic authentication, client: 192.168.0.24, server: server1.example.com, request: "GET /secure/ HTTP/1.1", host: "server1.example.com" However, I was able to setup password protected directories for a normal HTTP virtual host without any problems. Is it a problem with the config or something else?

  • SSH Tunnel doesn't work in China

    Last year I was working in China for a few months. I never bothered setting up a real VPN, but just created a SSH tunnel, and changed my browsers proxy settings to connect through it. Everything worked great (except flash of course) but that was fine. However, now I'm back in China but I'm having problems with this approach. I do the same thing as last time, and according to https://ipcheckit.com/ my IP address is indeed the IP of my (private) server in the US, and I'm logging in to my server using a fingerprint I created long before going to China so no MITM should be possible. Furthermore the certificate from ipcheckit.com is from GeoTrust - so everything should be OK However, I still can't access sites which are blocked in China. Any idea how this could be possible?

I have definitely ticked the regular expression box What am I doing wrong EDIT: I am trying to find the start of a new line - In textpad it is find '^' and ensure reg ex is enabled.     I have a PC with linux-mint installed on it. I wanted to install win-7 along-side, for some reasones. what I have done is: create a bootable USB-stick with Ubontu ios. restarted the computer, this time with Ubuntu (running from my disk-on-key). created a partition on the main HD using GPart. formated the partition to NTFS. restarted the computer, this time through the installation CD for win-7. installed win-7 with normal settings. that all worked, and I'm writing this through win-7. the thing is - when I boot my system, I don't get to choose what OS to run. I checked the settings in msconfig, and in boot label it has just win-7. how can I boot linux?

  • Getting sendmail to install/work for using php mail()

    I'm running WordPress on a Ubuntu VPS. When WordPress tries to send an email like a password reset or registration email it never gets delivered. WordPress uses php's mail() function. I figure it's not working as my VPS didn't have sendmail installed. So I went into SSH and installed it with sudo apt-get install sendmail which appeared to succeed. Following more googled advice I edited the php.ini file to have the sendmail path. I located it as being /usr/sbin/sendmail which I believe is typical for many *nix servers. To check I browsed to this directory on FTP. The "sendmail" directory appears to be a shortcut. Is this correct/expected? Either way the php mail function is not working. I have created a phpinfo file and a test mail php file which contains just a mail() function with my email as the recipient. Note: my VPS doesn't yet have a domain, just an IP address. Would this affect sendmail functionality? My phpinfo is here for your reference: http://95.142.166.209/phpinfo.php Do I also need postfix? I don't think I have it... Here is some of the mail log.   • USB devices don't work after restoring from Stand By

    Hi. I'm running Windows XP SP3 on a NEC Versa L1100 laptop. If I wake my laptop up from Stand By, no attached USB devices will function. Device Manager shows all USB entries to be working properly. There is an option to "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" in the Power Management properties of USB entries. Is this causing the issue or something else? I have the latest drivers for my motherboard installed.

    I know what the /burnmemory switch does on Windows, but I'd like to understand what Windows is doing under the hood to support it. It's described on msdn as the "amount of memory, in megabytes, that Windows cannot use". Does this mean simply that the kernel does not allow user virtual memory mapping into this area? How is this accomplished in the kernel, and are there other restrictions that the kernel will make when burnmemory is set?

    It was working just fine, until the other day I yanked it out. The wireless works just fine on the same router. If I login to a windows 7 instance on this dual boot laptop then the ehternet works just fine. So it's not a hardware, cable or router issue. The card even gets an ip, but I can't connect to the internet. Here are the details from route, iptables, ifconfig, ping etc. Any ideas?     I have installed Ubuntu on a partition of my external usb drive. Since I had problems with grub2, I have uninstalled it and installed grub1. But then the usb drive didn't boot anymore, and I am forced to the limited shell of grub1. If I write manually kernel (hd0,4)/vmlinuz-2.6.31-15-generic root=/dev/sdb4 ro quiet splash initrd (hd0,4)/boot/initrd.img-2.6.31-15-generic boot then Ubuntu is loaded, but if I execute the commands root (hd0,4) setup (hd0) as explained at http://www.gnu.org/software/grub/manual/html_node/Installing-GRUB-natively.html#Installing-GRUB-natively, next time I boot from usb I am forced again to the grub limited shell. How can I restore a working grub?

  • Will a hosting company work with a site that'll (eventually and ideally) have many frequent visitors

My question is, will staying with a hosting company (namely, FatCow) be a complete disaster? Or is there an alternative?     I'm pretty new to runit. I installed it on a Ubuntu host. What I did: 1) created a dir testrun in /etc/sv 2) created a script run in /etc/sv/testrun/run, the script content: #! /bin/bash exec /root/FP/annotate-output python /root/FP/test.py | logger -t svtest 3) If I call directly /etc/sv/testrun/run it executes successfully 4) I run sv start testrun (or sv run testrun, sv restart testrun), all of them end up with the same error msg: fail: sv: unable to change to service directory: file does not exist Any ideas what am I doing wrong?   • /etc/hosts in Windows 8.1 doesnt work like in Windows 7 [on hold]

    Last time when i installed Win7, i configured it to block some netbios names in LAN with hosts file. Something like this: 192.168.0.10 computer_name 192.168.0.10 computer_IP where 192.168.0.10 some ip-address in network, where user need to login to access it. So, when user trying to access computer_name via \\computer_name, he will redirect to 192.168.0.10 rather then going to computer_name. In Windows 8.1 I can't do this trick. I tried to disable Windows Defender, flushed DNS, nbtstat -R. Nothing works. When I pinging computer_name, IP address returning 192.168.0.10, but when I accessing it via explorer (\\computer_name\d$), it opening computer partitions. In Win7, when I trying to access \\computer_name, its trying to open 192.168.0.10 one. Maybe its not the best solution to do this, but it works in Windows 7.

  • ALT+TAB doesn't work properly in Windows 8.1

    Holding ALT+TAB will activate the flip 2D to switch from a window to another. The problem is that this function remains active for a very short time and I'm not able to select the window I want in the foreground. I also noticed that when I put the cursor on an icon on the taskbar, the live preview thumbnail disappears quickly. With a safe mode restart the problem is no longer there, all is fine! With a clean install of Windows 8.1(no driver and applications installed) the problem is here again; obviously disappears with a safe mode restart also in this situation. What's the problem? A Windows process or service?

I am using Windows 7 and a Cosonic headset. It works on my brother's PC but not on mine, I can't seem to any mic response from my PC. The program doesn't require to locate the input device. D-Bus look fine, I can use dbus-monitor. I installed gnome, but I still can't use NM. I 'm using openbox now.
