  • Clever way to add files to changeset after commit?

    It sometimes happens to me that I forget to include a file in a changeset (i.e. a commit of a number of changed files that belong together, e.g. "Fixes bug #45") I will usually just make a second commit with the same commit message. Is there a clever and simple way to add the "latecomer" to the first commit somehow? Without svn dumping and svndumpfilter ing?

    Hi all, I am trying to get a latest version of a particular file from the repo. SVN UPDATE doesnt overwrite my local working copy. Actually I have the latest version from the Repository (eg revision 98). After Checkout I made some changes to the file and now I want to get rid of those local changes and get the copy from the repository (which is still at revision 98). How can i do this on Linux machine???

    Why do build servers poll for changes instead of SVN firing off an event (or a post-commit step) that tells the build server to start a build? It seems terribly inefficient to poll for changes, especially when the number of projects increases and the polling period is set to a very low value (for example, 30 seconds).

  • Move your Working Copy

    I tried to find out how to move my working copy. I know SVN move can be used to move files and folders inside your working copy but what about the working copy itself? I want to move it because I created a branch in a folder location that's different from my branch and had updated therefore all my .NET project references. So when I go to merge back to the mainline trunk I get a bunch of tree conflicts.

  • Subversion: svn status displays tons of undesired .metadata files

    I'm trying to set up Subversion on Ubuntu Linux. It seems to be working, except that when I made one change and tried svn status, I found about 100 files had been changed, in the .metadata directory. My ~/.subversion/config file currently contains the following line: global-ignores = *.o *.lo *.la *.al .libs *.so *.so.[0-9]* *.a *.pyc *.pyo *.rej *~ .*.swp .DS_Store What do I need to add to ignore the .metadata files? The directory under consideration is used by Eclipse for Python development using PyDev, if that matters.

Since the version of web.config is different on the server and the developers' computers I want the file to remain on the computers but to be ignored by Subversion. I added it to the svn:ignore but it still remains (and still has a red exclamation mark too since we are not committing it).   • Getting "invalid XML in the response" while checking out my project from github

    I was trying to get fresh copy of my project from github using tortoise svn client. But I am getting following exception. The PROPFIND request returned invalid XML in the response: XML parse error at line 1: no element found (Checkout from https://github.com/anoopchaurasia/JavaScript-File-Manager.git) When I tried to checkout using subeclipse on Eclipse, it saying "Folder does not exist.". I am able to checkout same repository on my other system.

    Hello, I have setup an SVN repository for use with Apache 2 via svnadmin create command and appropriate vhost configuration. I found that, in order to correctly use the repository, this must be owned by wwwrun user (or www group) or chmodded to 777. I would like to ask if it's possible to explicitly tell Apache to impersonate another user when serving requests to a certain path (from vhost.conf), like with suphp extension, so I won't mess with permissions once I create a repository. I was wondering if there's a ccnet plugin of some sort that would allow the above to be specified. I know this could be done with a NAnt deploy script.
