    I have added a new step in my job activity monitor which runs ssis package(encrepted with password). dtexec /f "\\sw-conf-dev-01\projects\dtsx\Email.dtsx" /de "ssispassword" error message: Description: The package is encrypted with a password. The password was not specified, or is not correct. End Error Could not load package "\sw-conf-dev-01\projects\dtsx\Email.dtsx" because of error 0xC0014037. Description: Failed to remove package protection with error 0xC0014037 "The package is encrypted with a password. The password was not specified, or is not correct.". This occurs in the CPackage::LoadFromXML method I have used the same password in the package as well, but i don't know why I'm still getting an error message. Any ideas?

  • Unable to access MySQL from MyPHPAdmin after setting root password in EasyPHP{WAMP}

    Am a new starter with WAMP and trying to play around my way using the EasyPHP setup. After successful setup on intial launch of MySQL, the page prompted me to set up ROOT password for security reasons. On setting the password, am no longer able to access MySQL. The error is : Error MySQL said: Documentation 1045 - Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO) Looked up on the net and tried the following options in the config.inc.php from the phpmyadmin foler: 1] Set the authetication to "http" so that it prompts to enter the username and password /* Authentication type */ $cfg['Servers'][$i]['auth_type'] = 'http'; 2] Set up the correct password in the config file $cfg['Servers'][$i]['password'] = 'myPwd'; None of them worked. Can anyone suggest a workaround to access MySQL? Am not fussed about not being able to use the root account but would like to CRUD on the database using other username. Thanks in advance.

    I created an assembly containing WCF service code and dropped into another web project. When I try to invoke a service method, I get the following inner exception: Request for the permission of type 'System.Data.SqlClient.SqlClientPermission, System.Data, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed. Why this is happening? My newly created assembly lives inside the ASP.NET /bin folder along with other assemblies. At this level, should the database not know or care whether it is being called from a web service or from a normal call? How would it know that my assembly is foreign? How do I resolve this issue?

The problem is that we've got web apps and fat client apps using authentication and storing cookies. However, logging out of a web app does not log out of a fat client app, and we have now way of forcing a refreshed cookie, atm.

    Searched SO and Everywhere else, including the .net developers guide to directory services programming book - no luck. I am trying to create a simple password reset web page that allows the user to change their password. The change password portion of the code is working fine. For the users I would also like to display when their current password will expire next. Using the sample code from the book mentioned above I was able to get all of the code setup however, the attribute that is returned is always equal to Long.MinValue and hence cannot be inverted to a positive number, plus this means it did not find the proper domain setting. Does anyone have sample code or references for getting the password expiration in a Windows 2008 or R2 domain environment where password policies can be different for each user?

Best practice #1: A short time delay that increases with the number of failed attempts, like: 1 failed attempt = no delay 2 failed attempts = 2 sec delay 3 failed attempts = 4 sec delay 4 failed attempts = 8 sec delay 5 failed attempts = 16 sec delay etc. DoS attacking this scheme would be very impractical, but on the other hand, potentially devastating, since the delay increases exponentially. I am curious how I could implement something like this for my login system in PHP?

  • Using JavaScript eval to parse JSON

    Question: I'm using eval to parse a JSON return value from one of my WebMethods. I prefer not to add jquery-json because the transfer volume is already quite large. So I parse the JSON return value with eval. Now rumors go that this is insecure. Why ? Nobody can modify the JSOn return value unless they hack my server, in which case I would have a much larger problem anyway. And if they do it locally, JavaScript only executes in their browser. So I fail to see where the problem is.   • What are best practices for securing the admin section of a website?

    I'd like to know what people consider best practice for securing the Admin sections of websites, specifically from an authentication/access point of view. Of course there are obvious things, such as using SSL and logging all access, but I'm wondering just where above these basic steps people consider the bar to be set. For example: Are you just relying on the same authentication mechanism that you use for normal users? If not, what? Are you running the Admin section in the same 'application domain'? What steps do you take to make the admin section undiscovered? (or do you reject the while 'obscurity' thing)

    I have been using rails for developing web applications and now i need to do design an api for iphone application and since i used respond to json it also produces json but i use devise for authentication in my web application and when i send email and password along with the api it gives out {"user":{"authentication_token":"Lsusyd27ewgasga63","email":"[email protected]"}} and there is forgot password functionality in the iphone app but in the web application when clicking on forgot password button it sends an email to the users email, whereby the user has to go to his mail and click on the link sent and it will take to the change password path and after changing it the user will be login but in this iphone app i want to send the password to the user mail and the user can use that password and login. How can i do this? Also do i have to create new controllers for api or the web application controller is enough if it respond as json? please help me.

    I've built a full sign up system with user account activation, login, validation, captcha etc. To complete this I now need to implement a forgot password/reset password feature.. I have created one function that generates a random password 8 characters, another method that takes that random password word and applies sha1 and hashing. Also one that takes that hashed password and stores it in a table in the database. I will keep these methods to one side as they might come in handy later on but for now I would like to know if anyone can point me to a nice tutorial for creating a password reset feature for my website.     First of all, I would like to say that I have used the search box looking for a similar question and was unsuccessful, maybe because of my poor english skills. I have a a 'homemade' framework. I have certain PHP files that must only be visible for the admin. The way I currently do this is check within every single page to see if a session has been opened. If not, the user gets redirected to a 404 page, to seem like the file which has been requested doesn't exist. I really don't know if this is guaranteed to work or if there's a better and more safe way because I'm currently working with kind of confidential data that should never become public. Could you give me some tips? Or leave a link where I could find some? Thank you very much, and again excuse me for kicking the dictionary. EDIT What I usually write in the top of each file is something like this <?php include("sesion.php"); $rs=comprueba(); //'check' if ($rs==1) { ?> And then, at the end <?php } ?> Is it such a butched job, isn't it? EDIT Let's say I have a customers list in a file named customers.php That file may be currently on http://www.mydomain.com/admin/customers.php and it must only be visible for the admin user. Once the admin user has been logged in, I create a session variable. That variable is what I check on the top of each page, and if it exists, the customers list is shown.
