  • Rendering ExtJs components without panels?

    Hi, Take a look at this example: http://www.extjs.com/deploy/dev/examples/multiselect/multiselect-demo.html On it, there are components rendered against a panel. I've been searching for a way to render components without a panel, so that they are laid out against empty background directly, without any window-like panels. Is there a way to accomplish this?

  • Creating "screenshots" with HTML 5 and CSS 3?

    Hi, I need to create small thumbnails of HTML elements. I first thought using CSS 3 reflection, but it is limited to being only a reflection (and not a direct copy) and I can not move it from its standard position. Then I thought using JavaScript to copy the HTML element entirely along with all its contents and apply CSS 3 transform to scale it down to a thumbnail. That works pretty well, but is kind of a hack. Does anyone know a better way of doing this with JavaScript, HTML 5 and CSS 3. Flash, Java and such are not an option and it only needs to work in one browser.

    Hi, I'm wondering that how much worried I should be about data types. I can easily jump from TINYINT to SMALLINT and from SMALLINT to INT, but are there any drawbacks to this? Obviously situations like from text to int will have consequences, but I'm talking about situations like INT-BIGINT, TINYTEXT-TEXT, etc.

    Hi, Is there a way to display a component in EditorGridPanel without the need to click on the cell? The problem I see on this demo is that the checkboxes are not Ext.form.Checkbox components, and not even inherited from it. The checkboxes are simply background images and since I am building a grid that needs ComboBoxes, it will not be simple to apply a similar hack.

    Hi, I have a PHP script that runs database queries. Now, if a query fails, should I trigger an error or throw an exception? I noticed that if I do the latter, the script execution will stop after facing the exception. My code is as follows: if (!$this->connection[0]->query($this->query)) throw new Exception($this->connection[0]->error); What are the pros and cons of using exceptions for this kind of cases (failed queries)?

    Hi, I'm working on a database program and I noticed that when I'm doing queries with tables that have TEXT/BLOB columns, MySQL will use temp tables and use filesort. I'm not entirely sure when and how this happens, but are there cases where MySQL does not use filesort when there are BLOB/TEXT columns? Like if the sort column is type of VARCHAR() with an index?

  • Reinstall Acer OEM Windows 8, Windows 8 Recovery for Acer Aspire V5 122p

    My Acer Aspire V5-122P-61456G50NSS, model - MS2377, has crashed all together. It came preloaded with Windows 8 and I upgraded to windows 8.1 3-4 days before crash. Unfortunately I did not make any recovery media before the crash. While accessing the eRecovery on Acer store with my PC's serial no. it says nor RCD available for this. I tried recovery by loading recovery manager (Left Alt + F10) Various other advanced startup options (like holding shift key while turning on or pressing F8 key) returns nothing but no luck. However I am able to enter BIOS. After doing research on above condition on various PC forums, now my questions: I read that a 'Windows Recovery Drive' can be made on any PC running Windows 8 and could be used to repair another PC. Does anybody in SuperUser community have that (or a link to download the same from somewhere? as I'm unable to find anybody running windows 8 among my friends). I downloaded a window 8 Pro ISO and made a bootable USB. I was able to go to 'Repair Your Computer' option and after going to 'Reset your PC' option found that my recovery partition has gone/missing. I tried all options available but no luck. Then I tried to install with that Windows 8 Pro ISO but got message: "The product key entered does not match any of the Windows images available for installation. Enter a different product key". before this message I did not got any form to fill product key! Does this mean that the installer was picking up the key from BIOS (OEM Key)? and may be the installation did not succeeded because OEM Windows version was Window 8 and I was trying to install Windows 8 Pro. If that is the case then, could somebody please send me link to download an Windows 8 ISO? I am helpless and couldn't find anywhere on internet (without having to pay for a new key, but I should not pay as the installer will use OEM key).

    I have a dedicated server running CentOS 5.3. I'm trying to update Plesk 9.5.2 to version 10.0.0 but update fails.   • Ubuntu dual monitor set up - taskbars appear on other monitor

    I'm trying to get my TV (connected via HDMI cable) to act as a second monitor to watch video etc. The TV is to my left, so in Display Preferences I unticked "Mirror Screens" and put the monitors like this: -------- ---------- | PC | | TV | | | ---------- -------- When I do this, the PC monitor comes up with just the desktop wallpaper and the interface - taskbar and windows, etc - moves to the TV screen. But if I swap the monitors around, the taskbars are still on the TV screen, with the windows (and desktop icons) on the PC screen. Is there a way to set the computer monitor as the main one and the TV as the second screen? PC: Dell Inspiron 531 Monitor: Samsung SyncMaster 720N TV: Philips 26PFL5522D LCD TV

  • Socket(TCPIP) Unstable

    I have a setup of a SCPI server in a Win7 PC and have 2 other programs talking to it locally(127.0.0.1) over TCPIP socket 5025 and 5029. This worked well and stable in a fresh PC, but when we moved it into our production lines and the IT dept added their policies and stuff, it became unstable. The PC is connected to the production floor server but both of the programs are running locally in the PC. The connection tends to be disconnected when there is an idle period. And it takes 5-6times to refreshing the connection to get it back. I'm not a programmer myself, so I'm hoping to see if anyone here can help with some answers. Thank you very much!!     Hi my problem is this: I have a 3 pc (192.168.1.2,..3,..4) and a windows 2008 server (192.168.1.100) router is 192.168.1.1. I just want that the 3 pc set like gateway 192.168.1.100, are filter by squid proxy loaded in win2008 so in win2008 I 've set in control panel the proxy 192.168.1.100:3128 and in win2008 browser work, the connection is filtered by proxy, but in 3 pc not works, so maybe I should route all incoming request into squid, but I dunno how ... thanks

  • IIS 7.5 saving configuration settings to web.config with IIS Manager

    I installed IIS 7.5 (Windows 7) on two different PCs, one PC saves configuration to applicationHost.config and the other to web.config! Screenshot: As you can see, the PC on the left does not contain the settings (they are stored in applicationHost.config) and the PC to the right does in fact store the settings in web.config. I have not and hope not to modify the configuration files by hand and would like to do it using IIS Manager only. Does anyone know why this happens or if there is some setting to force configuration to the web.config file? Thank you. Edit: I am adding a screenshot of the applicationHost.config file (PC on the left) demonstrating how the configuration is stored in it instead of inside the web.config file.

The PC is connected to the laptop using a Ethernet cable and internet is shared between them. I want to connect my mobile device to my laptop by making the laptop into a Wi-Fi hotspot. PC (Ethernet) == Laptop (connected to net by Wi-Fi) <== Mobile device (Wi-Fi hotspot) I have 3 connections in my laptop: Wireless Network Connection (internet - shared) Local area connection (PC) Wireless Network Connection 2 (Wi-Fi hotspot) Every time I have to disable either the LAN to get the Wi-Fi hotspot working, or disable the Wi-Fi hotspot to get LAN working. How can I share so I can use both at the same time?

    We have 300 windows xp machines on cruddy old hardware across the company. With extended support for XP ending April next year we're looking into our options. Couple of options: Replace the 300 PC's with full windows 7 PC's (£100k +?) - no use of terminal server (our current model) Replace the 300 PC's with off the shelf thin clients & make use of our terminal server - Cheaper clients but Terminal Server CALS required? Keep the 300 PC's, replace windows XP with linux thin client capable of connecting to our terminal server - no hardware costs, just Terminal Server CALS required? Keep the 300 PC's - remove hard drives and make use of a PXE bootable "thin client" to connect to our terminal server If we were to choose option 4, what our the options out there? Is there any official PXE bootable thin clients for terminal server out there? If so, what are the licence requirements? Is there options we haven’t considered? There must be lots of companies out there in this situation - curious what the current trend is for this problem? Edit: Option 5 - Create a bootable Windows PE image with RDP auto start and use that as a "thin client" for our terminal server - is Windows PE licence free in such a model?

    Now, Let me explain the situation. I am having a query regarding Wi-Fi network. I am having PC & laptop. I requested my Wi-Fi providers that I want connection in my PC. So that - Wi-Fi provider set up an Antenna on my building Terrace - They joined a cable to pc & that Antenna. ( I think using RJ45 connector ) - The reason behind this - my does not have a built in Wi-Fi adapter. Now - almost laptops have built in Wi-Fi. Now - On terrace there is Wi-Fi with superb speed. But on my flat - Wi-fi comes with low speed. So, when ever I use internet on my pc - it has great speed - but my laptop works with low speed. The reason behind this - PC is catching wifi from terrace & laptop is catching the wifi from it's own place. Now, My question is something like this. Can we place an antenna or something like that & connect it to laptop for better wifi speed?   • Windows XP computer can't see Windows 7 shares

    I am building a network containing notably a laptop running XP and a computer running Windows 7. Both computer have shared folders and the 7 has a shared printer, to which another laptop running 7 is able to print. If I attempt to see the laptop's network shares on the PC, everything works perfectly: I am able to see and enter the folders. The reverse operation however doesn't work. Xp doesn't see the Windows 7 PC. Other things to note: As mentioned above, another Windows 7 computer is able to see the printer and I can ping both computers from either PC. Both computers are in the same workgroup named ALLAITEMENT Password-protected shares are turned off on the PC. The 7 Computer uses 40/56 bit encryption The Windows XP laptop has SP3

  • GTX 280 purple snow on bootup, card works without drivers

    i have owned a ASUS GTX280 for 3 years now. The card has been great all along but i started having problems 10 days ago. I was playing Diablo 3 for 1 week on max settings no problems, then suddenly my display kept getting some weird purple/colours as soon as i booted and logged into windows. Went into safe mode, updated drivers and it kept crashing. Formatted PC, fresh windows install with new WHQL drivers again same problem. Uninstalled nvidia drivers and pc has been running great for 4 days now, ofcourse i cannot run games but everything works on 1680x1050 resolution and i can browse internet,watch movies and use my PC for everything but gaming. As soon as i install nvidia drivers PC won't boot. I only wanna game a few hours a week (very busy program with school this month so it might be a blessing that i cannot game) and i would love it if i could keep the card. I am looking to upgrde later on when i will have time for gaming but i wonder if i could still use the card somehow with different/new drivers (tried older drivers that came with the card on a CD aswell) tldr: PC works fine with no nvidia drivers (apart from gaming ofc). Once i install WHQL drivers or older ones, cannot even log into windows. Fix?

    Please help me, Currently we have about 10 pc's sharing internet. and We have CISCO 800 series router that connect the ADSL, to the lan Segment it connect switch throw the switch all pc's are getting connecting. all user pc's having 192.168.3.--- range ips and gateway is 192.168.3.254 now i install the endian firewall to one PC, it must work as firewall,VPN & proxy i made green zone ip as 192.168.3.222 then how to give red zone IP? i know that is static IP but it cant be same range so please help me out to sort this without changing anything in router, if want i can change the internal IP sets instead of 3.-- 10.-- or something like that and also please state me at present i tried Endian firewall red and green zone cables are pluged in to network switch only please help me to overcome this its urgent
