• Debugging/Running executables in cmake/Visual Studio project

  We are moving from hand-managed Visual Studio projects to cross platform cmake. We used to open a solutions file, select a project as "Startup Target" and push Ctrl+F5 or F5 debug or run. Now cmake has this install concept. It requires me to run the install target. But the install project doesn't have any executables set so it can not be used to start with debugging. If I set my executable project as a startup target, then install will not run, so I can not debug. I am sure there is a better way of doing this. Any ideas ?

  I've gone through this page: http://developer.android.com/guide/developing/device.html, My manifest has <application android:icon="@drawable/icon" android:label="@string/app_name" android:debuggable="true"> My phone has Menu - Settings - Applications - Development - USB Debugging checked I have gone to the control panel on my Windows XP 64 bit and installed the USB drivers given to me by the SDK installer at: android-sdk_r05-windows\android-sdk-windows\usb_driver So my computer does recognize the android device. However.. when I run an app on Eclipse, it still insists on opening it up in an emulator rather than my phone. How can I fix that?

• SSIS Custom Control Task Debugging UI in BIDS and VS

  I've created a SSIS Custom Task in C# and I'm currently developing the UI. I was wondering if there is a better way of debugging the UI instead of compiling the project, copying the DLL's into the appropriate DTS folder and then opening the test Package within BIDS and then attaching the process to Visual Studio. This part I'm not bothered about but once you've tested the UI and made changes to UI within Visual Studio. I've got to recomplile the DLL's and then repeat the entire process. I've got to close BIDS and VS because they don't release the DLL's before I have to start the entire process over again. Does anyone have any tips to speed up this process. It's just so frustrating having to do this everytime.

• Help debugging Apache, Passenger and Rails problem

  We have an environment running that uses Apache, Passenger and rails. The system is handling most request normally, yet certain requests do not make it to the rails application. For instance, a request to /books is successful, but /books/1 hits apache and passenger, but does not even make it to rails. We set the apache log level to debug and the passenger log level to 3 so that we could monitor all incoming requests. We could see each request coming through and even the /books/1 request is being handled by passenger. But it never gets to rails. Is there any way to determine where the request goes between Passenger and rails or where debugging information might live? Has anyone ever seen any problems with passenger spawning or queuing? We have spawning set to conservative. Also, we have had some permission/ownership problems in the past, so I am not ruling this out yet. Thanks in advance

I'm on Mac Snow Leopard with a Nexus One phone and I've followed the steps here http://developer.android.com/intl/zh-TW/guide/developing/device.html So I added: 1. android:debuggable="true" 2. Turn on "USB Debugging" on your device. However, when I go to the terminal and do "adb devices" only the emulator shows up there. I'm supposed to see my device name too right? What am I missing?   I am currently using a webview to load a webpage which contains lots of javascript and having lots of trouble debugging what exactly gets loaded and when in the webview . Then I saw this post where the op seems to be using apache log to monitor webpage load events in his webview. Enhance webView performance (should be the same performance as native Web Browser) Can I get a similar utility plugin or anything so that I can use it with logcat in ddms view. If possible please provide some resource as to how to configure it for android.

• Debugging PHP in Aptana 2.0

  I'm a real newbie when it comes to PHP debugging so forgive my stupidity. I have a simple html form that submits to a PHP script and I want to debug that script and see what's being sent from the form. My Aptana has two two PHP interpreters installed; Zend Debugger on port 10001 and XDebug on 9000 I have the Firefox Aptana Addon installed I have my HTML page on the following url, running locally; http://3i/latest.html In the IDE I open the PHP script and add some breakpoints, I then open the latest.html and I click on the debug button. It launches the HTML page in a local webserver running at; http://127.0.0.1:8000/3i/latest.html I then fill out the form and submit at which point the debugger tells me the JS Debugger has terminated but it doesn't stop at my break points. I've had a good read around and I can't find anything which helps me, which makes me think it's something pretty easy and I'm being a bit dumb.

  Hi, I'm maintaining a vb6 project(ActiveX DLL). When debugging, the app run into the following function: Public Function HasValue(ByVal vValue) As Boolean On Error GoTo Err If IsMissing(vValue) Then HasValue = False ElseIf IsNull(vValue) Or Len(vValue) = 0 Then HasValue = False ElseIf isEmpty(vValue) Then HasValue = False Else HasValue = True End If Exit Function Err: If IsArray(vValue) Or IsObject(vValue) Then HasValue = True Else HasValue = False End If End Function and it stops at the line ElseIf IsNull(vValue) Or Len(vValue) = 0 Then vValue is a custom object, contains some properties(obviously, not null). Although I didn't put any break point there, the app stopped there and alerted error dialog saying that "Run-time error '438': Object doesn't support this property or method". We had error handling code but the app didn't run to error handling code. It just stopped at the line causing the error and I had to stop the application. Do you have any idea about that?   I'm programming in C, and I have the following problem: I use fopen and try to read from a csv file, that is currently storred in the folder of the exe file of the program. the program works fine in debug mode and release mode, but when I try to run the program in "start without debugging" on visual studio 2008 express edition, the program stops working and windows is showing a message: "*.exe has stopped working. a program caused the program to stop working correctly. windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available". I've tried running the program on several computers, and it's the same. another information I can give you is that if I enter the full path of the file (C:....file.csv) - then is works just fine, without any problem. I know I didn't write any code, but I hope someone will have an idea why this can happend. thanks is advance.

• ColdFusion debugging output in my Ajax

  If I turn off "Enable Request Debugging Output", the 3rd option under the Debug Output Settings, then I no longer get debug info in my $.ajax call to a cfc with access="remote". That's good, but I'd like to keep it turned on for all my other programs and turn it off programatically for this one exception. I put <cfsetting showdebugoutput="false"> at the top of my Index.cfm, but that didn't turn off the debug output coming from the cfc. Oh wait. Never mind. I had to put the in the function rather than in Index.cfm.

  Using a stand alone Windows Server 2012 Standard edition (no Active Directory), I Tried to establish a simple remote desktop with a custom port number, but could not modify the port number in the Firewall inbound rule, when I open the inbound property I get the next message: "This is a predefined rule and some of its properties cannot be modified" I have tried to set it up like this: New rule - predifined drop down list - Remote Desktop - check mark rules - Allow the connection. but still get "This is a predefined rule and some of its properties cannot be modified" Thank you in advance.

• Having IIS remote management problem with my vista machine managing Server 2008 IIS 7.5

  I am trying to use IIS 7 Remote Management installed on Vista Ultimate SP1. Connection is to IIS 7.5 on Windows Server 2008 Webserver R2. Tried on both full & core install. When I connect up, the console wants to download and install new features. Microsoft.Web.Management.IisClient 7.5.0.0 Microsoft.Web.Management.AspnetClient 7.5.0.0 I check the boxes and click OK and it downloads them and asks if I want to install them, but after I click run it just quits. I tried just choosing one or the other, same thing. I ran IIS Remote tool as administrator. These features installed correctly on my XP machine. Any ideas? UPDATE : If I had any Rep I would offer like 500 rep to get this fixed!

  I'm new with Rundeck and completely amazed with it and I'm trying to execute a job and my scenario is detailed below: Rundeck is configured with ssh passwordless authentication for user master between node Server (rundeck server) and node Target (remote Solaris host) for user "master" In node Target I want to execute a script /app/acme/stopApp.sh with a user appmanager Normally and manually, when I need to run script above I proceed with ssh master@server sudo su - appmanager or simply ssh -t master@server 'sudo su - appmanager' works without password and finally run (as appmanager) /app/acme/stopApp.sh But I'm not sure how can I reproduce these steps using Rundeck. I read in some previous messages that for each job line rundeck use a new ssh connection, so the workflow below always fails for me with the messages: sudo: no tty present and no askpass program specified Remote command failed with exit status 1 Please someone could help me with some information to solve this issue. Without this functionality I wouldn't be able to introduce a little DevOps in my department. I read the user guide and admin guide but I couldn't find an easy example, neither in this forum, to follow.

It can be unidirectional (changes made on the local folder has to be pushed to the remote folder but the reverse is not necessary). It should also be able to specify some excluded files/folders which do not need to be in sync. Is there such an application that you know of?

• Unknown protocol when trying to connect to remote host wit stunnel

  I'm trying to set up a stunnel for WebDav on Windows. I want to connect 80 port on my local interface to 443 on another machine in my network. I can ping the machine remote machine. However when I use the tunnel, I'm getting this error all the time SSL state (accept): before/accept initialization SSL_accept: 140760FC: error:140760FC:SSL routines:SSL23_GET_CLIENT_HELLO:unknown protocol There is nothing in the logs on the other machine and here's my stunnel connection config [https] accept = 127.0.0.2:80 connect = 10.0.0.60:443 verify = 0 I've set it up to accept all certificates so this shouldn't be a problem with a self-signed certificate remote host uses. Does anyone knows what might be the problem that this connection cannot be eastablished?

• Question about Remote WAN IP on NetGear FVS336G VPN setup

  I wanted to be able to have a VPN connection to my home network so I purchased the FVS336G because the reviews said it was easy set up. I am sure it is for someone that knows what needs to be entered it is easy, but I am a little confused. Using the VPN wizard I choose VPN Client as the tunnel connection, enter key, etc... but then I get to the "What is the remote WAN's IP or Internet Name" and "What is the local WAN's IP address or Internet Name" I am lost. I am probably being really dumb, but I am not sure what I need to put in here. Is the remote WAN ip the ip from the outside world to my cable modem? Is the local ip the ip to my FVS336G? Any help would be appreciated.

  I have remote servlet for example: h*tps://[ip_address]/servlet (h*tps://[ip_address]/ - Tomcat main page) that i need to configure on local Apache HTTPd server. My mod_jk configuration looks like below, but doesn't work. Something works, because when i type h*tps://localhost/console in a browser i get Tomcat error page "HTTP Status 404 - /console/".   From time to time,we suffer problems like we can not remote connect to our server via ssh.So we have to send someone on site to restart the computer for this problem.It causes a lot of pain.The situation is we have to remote connect to our server,which are very important like database server and application server and etc.We have met problems like ssh hang,like command ssh [email protected] with no response. when using ssh -v debug mode, it says : debug1: Connection established. debug1: identity file /.ssh/identity type -1 debug1: identity file /.ssh/id_rsa type -1 debug1: identity file /.ssh/id_dsa type -1 debug1: loaded 3 keys and we met this situation many times with no clue how to solve it.Is any log which can identify this problem? or Is there a tool for this problem? help needed!Any idea are appreciated.

• IIS SmtpSVC - Adding remote domains on the fly

  Since I am using SMTPSVC from IIS to send all mail out I have noticed some domains that reject mail regarding LFs and similar SMTP day to day basis problems. So I mostly re route these domains by using smarthosts. Now I aslo read that on IIS7 or most of them when you add a remote domain to domains you must restart SMTPSVC to take effect. I also enabled METABASE editing. So I also hoped that this will help me add remote domains on the fly. But it's not working. Should I use another SMTP: -hmailserver or similar to route DOMAINS by smarthost. We used a smarthost configuration before but ISP smarthost gets a lot on RBL Blacklist so mail comes back. Since DNS MX direct sending is more work because of troublesome domains now I got more work to monitor SMTP logs. Thank you in advance.
