  • Using Sphinx with a distutils-built C extension

    I have written a Python module including a submodule written in C: the module itself is called foo and the C part is foo._bar. The structure looks like: src/ foo/__init__.py <- contains the public stuff foo/_bar/bar.c <- the C extension doc/ <- Sphinx configuration conf.py ... foo/__init__.py imports _bar to augment it, and the useful stuff is exposed in the foo module. This works fine when it's built, but obviously won't work in uncompiled form, since _bar doesn't exist until it's built. I'd like to use Sphinx to document the project, and use the autodoc extension on the foo module. This means I need to build the project before I can build the documentation. Since I build with distutils, the built module ends up in some variably named dir build/lib.linux-ARCH-PYVERSION — which means I can't just hard-code the directory into a Sphinx' conf.py. So how do I configure my distutils setup.py script to run the Sphinx builder over the built module?     I have the following extension method public static class ListExtensions { public static IEnumerable<T> Search<T>(this ICollection<T> collection, string stringToSearch) { foreach (T t in collection) { Type k = t.GetType(); PropertyInfo pi = k.GetProperty("Name"); if (pi.GetValue(t, null).Equals(stringToSearch)) { yield return t; } } } } What it does is by using reflection, it finds the name property and then filteres the record from the collection based on the matching string. This method is being called as List<FactorClass> listFC = new List<FactorClass>(); listFC.Add(new FactorClass { Name = "BKP", FactorValue="Book to price",IsGlobal =false }); listFC.Add(new FactorClass { Name = "YLD", FactorValue = "Dividend yield", IsGlobal = false }); listFC.Add(new FactorClass { Name = "EPM", FactorValue = "emp", IsGlobal = false }); listFC.Add(new FactorClass { Name = "SE", FactorValue = "something else", IsGlobal = false }); List<FactorClass> listFC1 = listFC.Search("BKP").ToList(); It is working fine. But a closer look into the extension method will reveal that Type k = t.GetType(); PropertyInfo pi = k.GetProperty("Name"); is actually inside a foreach loop which is actually not needed.   • select failing with C program but not shell

    So I have a parent and child process, and the parent can read output from the child and send to the input of the child. So far, everything has been working fine with shell scripts, testing commands which input and output data. I just tested with a simple C program and couldn't get it to work. Here's the C program: #include <stdio.h> int main( void ) { char stuff[80]; printf("Enter some stuff:\n"); scanf("%s", stuff); return 0; } The problem with with the C program is that my select fails to read from the child fd and hence the program cannot finish. Here's the bit that does the select.. //wait till child is ready fd_set set; struct timeval timeout; FD_ZERO( &set ); // initialize fd set FD_SET( PARENT_READ, &set ); // add child in to set timeout.tv_sec = 3; timeout.tv_usec = 0; int r = select(FD_SETSIZE, &set, NULL, NULL, &timeout); if( r < 1 ) { // we didn't get any input exit(1); } Does anyone have any idea why this would happen with the C program and not a shell one?   • Firefox extension js object initialization

    Note: this is about Firefox extension, not a js general question. In Firefox extension project I need my javascript object to be initialized just once per Firefox window. Otherwise each time I open my window a new timers will be engaged, new properties will be used, so everything will start from scratch. hope example below will demystify my question :) var StupidExtension { statusBarValue: "Not Initialized Yet", startup: function () { ... // Show statusBarValue in Status Bar Panel }, initTimerToRetrieveStatusBarValueFromNetwork: function () { ... } } so each time you hit Ctrl+N a new window you will see "Not Initialized Yet" and then new timer will be fired, so after some time it retrieve data from network you will see value also on second window and so on. Ideally would be to have just a single timer function running and updating all status bar panels in all Firefox windows. Of course I can do some caching, like saving the value in prefs or some other storage, then show it from there. But I feel like this is artificial. So the question will be is there "native" technique of making static some parts of the object among all Firefox window instances?

  • pgsql.so is not loaded in PHP

    Hi, I've been tasked to create a PHP app which accesses an existing PostgreSQL database. This is my first time working with Postgre, not to mention the PHP has already been installed in the Linux box on which the app is supposed to run. I have no experience setting up this stuff, I just code. My question is that I can't seem to get the Postgre extension working in PHP. I checked the php.ini file, there were no "extension=..." lines. So I added "extension=pgsql.so". I then checked the "extension_dir" and found that there were only 2 files in there (ldap.so, phpcups.so), I added a pgsql.so file taken from another Linux box. I restarted httpd. And it does not work. I couldn't find any "pgsql" or "postgre" in phpinfo(). Forgive my noobness. I know too little Linux. I would really appreciate it if you can point me to the right direction.

  • Processing a log to fix a malformed IP address ?.?.?.x

    I would like to replace the first character 'x' with the number '7' on every line of a log file using a shell script. Example of the log file: 216.129.119.x [01/Mar/2010:00:25:20 +0100] "GET /etc/.... 74.131.77.x [01/Mar/2010:00:25:37 +0100] "GET /etc/.... 222.168.17.x [01/Mar/2010:00:27:10 +0100] "GET /etc/.... My humble beginnings... #!/bin/bash echo Starting script... cd /Users/me/logs/ gzip -d /Users/me/logs/access.log.gz echo Files unzipped... echo I'm totally lost here to process the log file and save it back to hd... exit 0 Why is the log file IP malformed like this? My web provider (1and1) has decide not to store IP address, so they have replaced the last number with the character 'x'. They told me it was a new requirement by 'law'. I personally think that is bs, but that would take us off topic. I want to process these log files with AWstats, so I need an IP address that is not malformed. I want to replace the x with a 7, like so: 216.129.119.7 [01/Mar/2010:00:25:20 +0100] "GET /etc/.... 74.131.77.7 [01/Mar/2010:00:25:37 +0100] "GET /etc/.... 222.168.17.7 [01/Mar/2010:00:27:10 +0100] "GET /etc/.... Not perfect I know, but least I can process the files, and I can still gain a lot of useful information like country, number of visitors, etc. The log files are 200MB each, so I thought that a shell script is the way to go because I can do that rapidly on my Macbook Pro locally. Unfortunately, I know very little about shell scripting, and my javascript skills are not going to cut it this time. I appreciate your help.

  • Editting CSS in iframe that sets Select tag's text color to black?

    This is a very specific question for a Google Chrome extension. http://www.meebo.com/mobile/ This page is where you're kicked to when you go to Meebo.com on an iPhone or Droid phone. But if you notice, the Status box where you can set yourself away or what you want your status to be has white text on a white background. In order to get a website to appear in a Google Chrome extension's popup window (the one that drops down when you click the icon next to the address bar) that isn't an included html file in the extension, I need to use an iFrame. I know that there's security measures about Cross-Site stuff like javascript and I'm not surprised I'm having trouble accessing the CSS. But there's a class, status, and it's color is white and I need to change that to black. I've tested it with Chrome's Inspect Element window and if I change that, I'll be fine. I've tried changing the manifest.json file to inject a CSS file using Content-Scripts, but nothing... I'm new to Chrome Extensions but I have experience doing web development.

  • What's a good way to write batch scripts in C#?

    I would like to write simple scripts in C#. Stuff I would normally use .bat or 4NT .btm files for. Copying files, parsing text, asking user input, and so on. Fairly simple but doing this stuff right in a batch file is really hard (no exceptions for example). I'm familiar with command line "scripting" wrappers like AxScript so that gets me part of the way there. What I'm missing is the easy file-manipulation framework. I want to be able to do cd(".."), copy(srcFile, destFile) type functionality. Tools I have tried: NANT, which we use in our build process. Not a good scripting tool. Insanely verbose XML syntax and to add a simple function you must write an extension assembly. Can't do it inline. PowerShell. Looks great, but I just haven't been able to switch over to this as my primary shell. Too many differences from 4NT. Whatever I do needs to run from an ordinary command prompt and not require a special shell to run it through. Can PowerShell be used as a script executor? Perl/Python/Ruby. Really hate learning an entirely new language and framework just to do batch file operations. Haven't been able to dedicate the time I need to do this. Plus, we're a 99% .NET shop for our toolchain and I really want to leverage our existing experience and codebase. Are there frameworks out there that are trying to solve this problem of "make a batch file in C#" that you have used? I want the power of C#/.NET with the immediate-mode type functionality of a typical cmd.exe shell language. Am I alone in wanting something like this?

Here is the workflow: User logs in from testing-fb.local Cookies are stored When $.ajax() are fired from the Chrome extension Chrome extension listen with chrome.webRequest.onBeforeSendHeaders Chrome extension checks for cookies from chrome.cookies.get Chrome changes the Set-Cookies header to be sent And the request goes through.   • IIS6 Wildcard Mapping to ASP.NET - no file extension results in IIS 404

    I'm trying to perform what I understand to be a relatively simple task. I'd like to remove the extensions from the URLs on my website. I have the proper set up in my application to handle and rewrite the URLs - the trouble is I can't get past IIS to actually get to my application without the extensions. The details: I'm running IIS6 on Windows Server 2003. I've gone into the web site for my application, gone to the home directory tab, clicked "Configuration" and added a wildcard map to the following file: c:\windows\microsoft.net\framework\v2.0.50727\aspnet_isapi.dll Which I verified is the same as what is used above in the application extensions portion by .ascx, etc. If I navigate to http://mywebsite.com/Blogs the result is as follows: HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found Content-Length: 1635 Content-Type: text/html Server: Microsoft-IIS/6.0 X-Powered-By: ASP.NET Date: Thu, 14 Jan 2010 15:04:49 GMT Which seems to be a standard IIS 404 message. If I navigate to http://mywebsite.com/Blogs.aspx I get my ASP.NET app.... How can I troubleshoot this? I feel like I've double checked everything a dozen times but to no avail. I must be missing something obvious. Update: Here are the exact instructions given by the asp.net url rewriter that I'm using: IIS 6.0 - Windows 2003 Server open property page for website / virtual directory. click the 'home directory' tab click the 'configuration' button, select the 'mappings' tab click 'insert' next to the 'Wildcard application maps' section browse to the aspnet_isapi.dll (normally at c:\windows\microsoft.net\framework\v2.0.50727\aspnet_isapi.dll) Ensure that 'check that file exists' is unchecked Click OK, OK, OK to close and apply changes Update 2: I have yet to find a resolution for this. The application does not seem to be receiving the request from IIS, any further ideas?

  • installed openstack using devstack install shell script but getting 500 error when i try opening dashboard

    I followed the instructions at http://devstack.org/guides/single-machine.html to install OpenStack. I first installed Ubuntu on my Windows 7 PC using the officially supported Windows installer for Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. And after that I followed the instructions at above page to install OpenStack. As per instructions, I should be able to access the dashboard aka Horizon, at http://192.168.1.4/ (thats the IP of the PC on which I installed Ubuntu-OpenStack). However I am getting a 500 error web page when I open that. How do I resolve this error? I want to set up a dev environment for OpenStack. (seems like the modem goes out for about 30-60 seconds about once a day) So I copied this handy little script http://www.cyberciti.biz/tips/simple-linux-and-unix-system-monitoring-with-ping-command-and-scripts.html And an running it with watch -n 15 ./ping-test.sh I have been testing it by pulling the plug on my modem. The first time watch runs the script after the network goes out it runs fine (sends some email) and then goes defunct. Once networking is restored the script "finishes" and then watch runs it again. So I'm getting mail for when the network goes down, but not how long it was down for. If I run the script straight from the command line it runs (emails) and then exits. Any ideas why? How can I get the script to keep running once the network is down?

  • Coloring The Z Shell[closed]

    Because I have to stare at my command prompt all the time on my computer, it should look at least half-decent, so I am trying to get it colored. The expected outcome is as seen on this site. I have the colors I want set in my .Xdefaults file, but they of course do not color my prompt. My .zshrc is Phil's Prompt.   • How to enable mysqli extension on redhat?

    My php.ini says: Additional .ini files parsed /etc/php53/php.d/curl.ini, /etc/php53/php.d/fileinfo.ini, /etc/php53/php.d/json.ini, /etc/php53/php.d/mysqli.ini, /etc/php53/php.d/mysql.ini, /etc/php53/php.d/pdo_mysql.ini, /etc/php53/php.d/phar.ini, /etc/php53/php.d/zip.ini mysqli.ini is loaded.. But still i get this, PHP Fatal error: Class 'mysqli' not found i tried enabling dynamic loading and initialize php scripts with dl("mysqli.so"); i also tried recompiling the php source: ./configure --with-mysql=/usr/lib64/mysql --with- mysqli=/usr/lib64/mysql/mysql_config even this didn't work. Can anybody help me solve my problem? Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5 (Tikanga). x86_64 GNU/Linux. No access to RHN. Thanks.
