  • Simple syntax question

    Hey everyone, First off, sorry for my noob-ness. Believe me when i say ive been rtfm'ing. Im not lazy, im just dumb (apparently). On the bright side, this could earn someone some easy points here. I'm trying to do a match/replace with a pattern that contains special characters, and running into syntax errors in a Flex 3 app. I just want the following regex to compile... (while also replacing html tags with "") value.replace(/</?\w+((\s+\w+(\s*=\s*(?:".*?"|'.*?'|[^'">\s]+))?)+\s*|\s*)/?>/g, ""); On a side note, the pattern /<.*?/g wouldn't work in cases where there are html entities between tags, like so: <TEXTFORMAT LEADING="2"> <P ALIGN="LEFT"> <FONT FACE="Arial" SIZE="11" COLOR="#4F4A4A" LETTERSPACING="0" KERNING="0"><one</FONT> </P> </TEXTFORMAT><TEXTFORMAT LEADING="2"> <P ALIGN="LEFT"> <FONT FACE="Arial" SIZE="11" COLOR="#4F4A4A" LETTERSPACING="0" KERNING="0">two</FONT> </P> </TEXTFORMAT> The first regex would get both "<one" and "two", but the second would only get "hi" Thanks!   • Simple Reliable UDP C++ Libraries

    Hello, I am in need of a reliable UDP library. The one I wrote does not work too well and I would like to see what a 3rd party can do in the same circumstances. Enet will not work because of some "interesting" compile issues in xcode (I have another question on stack overflow about that).     If I have an oracle query like below: SELECT * FROM table_a where A = "1", B = "2", C = "3" for this query to pickup one of the indexes of table_a...does the index need to be on all 3 of these columns? What I am asking is: What if Index is on A, B, C, D? What if Index is on B, C? Will the index only be picked when it is on A, B, C?

I think the ' type="boolean" ' part of the field is creating problems. I know this might be a very trivial problem. Kindly bear with my ignorance. Please help.

  • Simple C++ classes question

    Its been a long time since i've done C++ and I'm running into some trouble with classes referencing eachother. right now I have something like: a.h class a { public: a(); bool skeletonfunc(b temp); } ==================== b.h class b { public: b(); bool skeletonfunc(a temp); } since each one needs a reference to the other i've found I cant do a #include of eachother at the top or i end up in a weird loop of sorts with the includes. So how can I make it so that a can use b and vice versa with out making a cyclical #include problem. thanks!

I thought I would be able to select a div and replace the contents with load()?

  • Windows Batch script - For /L not working -- simple

This is a university program, everything is working fine except when I call my :forLoop method to iterate through 100 numbers (1,1,100) starting at 1 going by 1 til 100 and doing the iteration % 5 (i%%5). for some reason I cannot get this to work. appreciate any help or direction. When I echo %%A it is iterating through all the number perfect.     I'm using PDO's bindParam. This is the function which checks every GET variable on the website. After changing it will echo it out: function Check_Get_Param($val){ $value1=addslashes($val); $string1=htmlspecialchars($value1); $string2=strip_tags($string1); $string3=intval($string2); return $string3; } Hhere this will output the result: Check_Get_Param($_GET['id']); Now the idea is any id or id= any or id = % $_GET['id'] = % will result 0 as % is not integer. How to allow % also? How do I modify this function or any other function that I could filter the GET parameters so I could keep out the web from injections?

  • Make it simple. Make it work.

    In 2010 I had an experience to work for a business that had lots of challenges. One of those challenges was luck of technical architecture and business value recognition which translated in spending enormous amount of manpower and money on creating C++ solutions for desktop client w/o using .NET to minimize “footprint” (2#) of the client application in deployment environments. This was an awkward experience, considering that C++ custom code was created from scratch to make clients talk to .NET backend while simple having .NET as a dependency would cut time to market by at least 50% (and I’m downplaying the estimate). Regardless, recent Microsoft announcement about .NET vNext has reminded me that experience and how short sighted architecture at that company was. Investment made into making C++ client that cannot be maintained internally by team due to it’s specialization in .NET have created a situation where code to maintain will be more brutal over the time and  number of developers understanding it will be going and shrinking. Not only that. The ability to go cross-platform (#3) and performance achievement gained with native compilation (#1) would be an immediate pay back. Why am I saying all this? To make a simple point to myself and remind again – when working on a product that needs to get to the market, make it simple, make it work, and then see how technology is changing and how you can adopt. Simplicity will not let you down. But a complex solution will always do.
