• c# RichTextBox Tab size

  Hello, I'm using System.Windows.Forms.RichTextBox and by default the tab size is 8 spaces. The RichTextBox itself is not that big and 8 spaces leads to a lot of scrolling. Is there any way to make it 4 spaces. If it matters, the control is initially blank and the user starts entering stuff and the tabs have to shorter (4 spaces) as the user enters text with tabs. I tried http://stackoverflow.com/questions/154204/modifying-default-tab-size-in-richtextbox and a few variations of it but no luck.

The perfect solution for me would be an application that lets me start typing a window's and offer a classic auto-complete drop down list to chose from.   I have a project that uses a timer to update the position of motors. I am adding 3 more motors and would like to control each of them the same way as the first. I tried moving my controls to a Tab Control but my update timers are not triggering. I made the UpdateTimer.SynchronizingObject = TheMainForm; Because if I tried to make it the Tab Page I got an error. I am very new to threaded projects. What am I doing wrong. Will post more code if its needed.

• Switching to tabs to the right or left of the current tab in Notepad++

  How can I switch to the document to the left or right of the current document in Notepad++? For example, if I have documents A, B, and C open, and I'm currently editing B, I would like a shortcut to be able to switch to A (Alt-LeftArrow or Ctrl-Pageup) or C (Alt-RightArrow or Ctrl-PageDown). Is this possible? All I've found is a way to switch to next or previous documents based on the "history" of when the document was last opened (Ctrl-Tab and Ctrl-Shift-Tab), which are useful, but not what I want.

  I would like to customize the name of the tab in Tilda (I guess that it doesn't change anything from the Gnome-terminal's behavior), but I can't find the exact sequence ... so far, I figured out that Bash does it when displaying my PS1 prompt: echo $PS1 \[\e]0;HELLO\a\]\[\033[01;32m\]\u\[\033[00m\]@\[\033[1;35m\]\h\[\033[00m\]:\[\033[01;34m\]\[\033[00m\] I guess that \[\e]0;HELLO\a\] is responsible for the title to be set to 'HELLO', but when I start echo -ne "\[\e]0;HELLO WORLD\a\]" only writes '[]' what's wrong with my command ?

  A command line in a text editor is a wonderful feature. It allows the user to explore the editor's functionality and learn it's shortcuts in a textual way. It's much faster than using the mouse, and it is much easier to memorise "shortcuts" this way. Emacs and VI provide this, though, emacs and vi are not "modern". By "modern", I mean one that is original built to cope with the modern de-facto standards of selecting, copying, pasting, cutting, undoing, redoing and auto-completing. Cream/vi or EmacsCUE are not valid options, since there are loads of things built over them that conflict with the mentioned stuff. Is there any alternative? (I do not intend to use the "modern" term as derrogatory. I love both Emacs and VI, but I hate their keyboard shortcut baggage.) (please do not advertise Vim and Emacs, that's not answering the question. I am asking for alternatives)

  I have created custome Membership Role and Profile provider using INGRES db. Now I can see my IngresMembership and IngresRole provider in the Provider tab(Select a different provider for each feature (advanced) ) of WSAT but when I clik on security tab I get this error: "There is a problem with your selected data store. This can be caused by an invalid server name or credentials, or by insufficient permission. It can also be caused by the role manager feature not being enabled. Click the button below to be redirected to a page where you can choose a new data store. The following message may help in diagnosing the problem: Object reference not set to an instance of an object." What am I missing? Do I need to add code for all override methods for Role provider? I have just written code for the Initialize and GetRolesForUser functions. Thanks

I have changed the actual tab bar background, but I need to know how to add custom images for the icons and their respective "selected" icons. I also need to remove the square highlight that is default. Pretty much, it just needs to be my icons. Also wondering if the images can be coloured or not.   At the moment I have the following code which works fine. label = new JLabel(panelLabel,SwingConstants.CENTER); outputPanel.add(label,BorderLayout.CENTER); I get the text in the center of the panel (in terms of the left-right position as well as in terms of the top-bottom). Now I want to set the position to the bottom (and center in terms of "left-right"). I tried to use SOUTH instead of the CENTER in the first line. Compiler does not complains but during the execution i get IllegalArgumentException: HorizontalAlignment. What is that?

  I am a new android developer, just tried something with Android Tablayout. There are two tabs and one tab has a GridView and the other one has a DatePicker. I created an activity and layout for each tab. The problem is that when I switch to the gridView, the background is not refreshed, and the images are just drawn over the DatePicker, so through images, the DatePicker still can be seen. If you have a plain html input type=text with a small width eg 20 and then type more characters than can be displayed, it shows the last characters you type. • Prevent auto scrolling when clicking tab anchor

  On my page I have some tabs that I've added some javascript so when they're clicked the page loads the tab's anchor URL instead of simply changing the view with AJAX, but I now want to stop the browser from auto scrolling to the anchor location. Having done some research, I'm pretty sure I just need to add a couple of lines so that when clicked it returns false or prevents default but, being a noob, I've no idea where to put them!?!   I've got a text file with an arbitrary number of lines, e.g.: one line some other line an additional line one more here I'd like to write a script to reorder those lines based on a given order. e.g. An input of 2 1 3 4 would swap the first and second lines. An input of 3 1 2 4 would put the 3rd line first, the 1st line second, the 2nd line third and keep the 4th line fourth. I could hack something together, but I'm wondering if there's an elegant solution? I can use either bash or ksh.

• How to identify/handle text file newlines in Java?

  Hi Everyone! I get files in different formats coming from different systems that I need to import into our database. Part of the import process it to check the line length to make sure the format is correct. We seem to be having issues with files coming from UNIX systems where one character is added. I suspect this is due to the return carriage being encoded differently on UNIX and windows platform. Is there a way to detect on which file system a file was created, other than checking the last character on the line? Or maybe a way of reading the files as text and not binary which I suspect is the issue? Thanks Guys !
