  • Adding a view with a view controller as a subview of another view controller. Doesn't work.

    I'm trying to essentially re-implement the UISplitViewController (because it has its limits), but when I create a UIViewController viewController, and then do an "[viewController.view addSubview contentViewController.view]" on it, to add a view that already has a view controller, that content view doesn't seem to get initialised by its view controller. I guess its view controller is getting detached or deallocated, is this the case?

    Any tips How to figure out where is memory leak in my Facebook app, its ASPX using Facebook toolkit DLL and I am afraid the bug may be in that CS library. The problem is that after one week uptime, server is running out of memory and needs to be rebooted, there are quite many users and I cannot run debugger on this "production server", so I would need to simulate somehow use on my local PC.

    I am writing a virtual desktop application which utilises the DeferWindowPos API functions. The current method I am using is moving the windows off the screen if they're not on the current virtual desktop. However I know wish to also hide the windows that are off-screen so they do not appear on the task bar. I have attempted this by also passing SWP_SHOWWINDOW/SWP_HIDEWINDOW to the DeferWindowPos() calls. I have read a few sites regarding this and one of them suggested that if SWP_SHOWWINDOW/SWP_HIDEWINDOW are passed, then the window will only show or hide, and no reposition. Can anyone confirm this, or am I doing something wrong?

    Hi, I've got a service which runs all the time and also keeps a log file. It basically adds new lines to the log file every few seconds. I'm written a small file which reads these lines and then parses them to various actions. The question I have is how can I delete the lines which I have already parsed from the log file without disrupting the writing of the log file by the service? Usually when I need to delete a line in a file then I open the original one and a temporary one and then I just write all the lines to the temp file except the original which I want to delete. Obviously this method will not word here. So how do I go about deleting them ?

    Hi, i have a container div which is position:relative and the squares are position:absolute because i want to play with their positions. Like what you see, the container does not fit the content except if the squares are positioned in Relative, is there a solution for this?     Hi im having a few problems rotating a string, i found that you need graphics.rotate() but when i change the rotation, i cannot even see the string. It appears the pivot point has completely thrown me. Also i saw an example with transform but i decided i did not need this? If my string was a graph label, reading top to bottom and i needed to rotate it 180 degrees so that it read bottom to top, how would i do this? Thanks in advance

Anybody has any ideas on what's going on here?

  • is it possible to use a python scrapper in a website?

    I want to scrap a website and use that content in a website of my own. I am just wondering if that can be done with python 2.7, and if so how? If not, do I have to use JavaScript to scrap it? And do you have a good place to learn how to do that or good libraries for it. For those of you wondering, the website I am scrapping is legal, and they allow for this to be done. I have searched all over but apparently nobody tries to implement these scrappers that they write. I can write a web scrapper in python just fine. Say my scrapper scraps a name from a wikipedia page (John Doe for example), how can I use that name that I get in my website? Another update, I have found pjsrape and PhantomJS. I have only found one stack overflow post and the github examples with aren't very intuitive. If anybody has any experience or better ways to do it I would very much appreciate it

  • Cannot open a .tif with color using .Net Image or Bitmap classes

    I am attempting to open .tif files that have color in them (300 dpi, PixelFormat.Format24bppRgb) using the .Net Image and Bitmap classes. I always get an "invalid parameter" error when the tiffs have color (works fine for black and white tiffs). If anyone has source code on how to open a .tif with color in it I'd deeply appreciate it.   • JList with JScrollPane and prototype cell value wraps element names (replaces with dots instead of s

    I've got a Jlist inside a JScrollPane and I've set a prototype value so that it doesn't have to calculate the width for big lists, but just uses this default width. Now, the problem is that the Jlist is for some reason replacing the end of an element with dots (...) so that a horizontal scrollbar will never be shown. How do I disable with "wrapping"? So that long elements are not being replaced with dots if they are wider than the Jlist's width? I've reproduced the issue in a small example application.     Hi, I'm a relative PHP newbie implementing a PayPal IPN listener and all seems to be working fine, except I dont really know how to check for a response code. I've tried something ugly with cURL but it doesn't work at all (I'm not understanding cURL). I've tried this piece of code that I grabbed from somewhere on the net: $fp = fsockopen('ssl://www.sandbox.paypal.com', 443, $errno, $errstr, 30); $response_headers = get_headers($fp); $response_code = (int)substr($headers[0], 9, 3); ... but it's not working (returns $response_code = 0). So right now, I'm debugging my IPN code without checking for a Response 200. Can anyone more experienced advise me on what's the proper/simple way to check this? Thanks

  • Is it possible in .NET to set the local endpoint (IP address) when using webclient to consume a web

    I'm wondering if it is possible using .NET to call a remote web service and in effect specify which IP the call is made on. I'm consuming a service that limits the number of calls I can make based on IP. The service costs in the 20k range after the free limit is used up. I'm very close to enough calls but not quite there using the free service. My server has 3 IP so I could in effect triple the number of calls I could make to the remote service by changing the IP.

  • How to set -Xbootclasspath for a JRE with a custom launcher?

    I have a Java application which is using a certain Java Runtime Environment. The application uses it's own launcher to startup the java virtual machine. No use of the java.exe, javaw.exe, javaws.exe binaries is being made -- as the application seems to have it's own launcher which is a different executable. This custom launcher is using the rest of the JRE files, such as bin/client/jvm.dll and rt.jar package etc. Now, the problem is that I want to set a boot class path for this custom launcher. The custom launcher does not support the -Xbootclasspath command line parameter, like the default java.exe does. Is there any way for me to set the boot class path now for this java runtime environment? Thanks in advance.
