  • Multiple dropdown combination check and filter

    Using Javascript / jQuery, I'm trying to build a "combination checker" that will take the values of three (but can be more) dropdown lists and filter the options based on a supplied list of allowed combinations. For example: DROPDOWNS Field 1: - value_1 - value_2 Field 2: - value_3 Field 3: - value_4 - value_5 COMBINATIONS - value_1, value_3, value_5 - value_1, value_3, value_4 - value_2, value_3, value_5 When a user selects Field 3 - value_4, the unavailable options will be disabled - ie, Field 1 - value_2 (there is no combination that allows value_2 and value_4 to be selected together). It would be really great if someone could provide some pointers on how this can be achieved or just provide a fresh perspective - I'm going round in circles on this one!

  • Weird code appearing when I loop over model instances in Rails

    In my Rails app I'm trying to loop over the Submission instances inside my Folder instances with Rails templating code. It works. However, it's also returning each instance in code which doesn't seem to be JSON. It's what's returned when you look up an instance in the Rails console. Here's an example: #<Submission id: 112, title: nil, content: nil, created_at: "2013-10-10 23:29:39", updated_at: "2013-10-10 23:29:39", user_id: 1, folder_id: 1, parent_id: nil> Here's what the code looks like for the loop: <%= @folder.submissions.each do |x| %> <% if x.title != nil %> <div id="<%= x.id %>" class="submission-textual"> <h1><%= x.title %></h1> </div> <% else %> <% end %> <% end %> I checked my Folder and Submissions controllers but am not sure what this is. Why are these strings being rendered whenever I try and render an instance in my view? I'm still new to Ruby so that explains why I haven't seen this.

  • JList with JScrollPane and prototype cell value wraps element names (replaces with dots instead of s

    I've got a Jlist inside a JScrollPane and I've set a prototype value so that it doesn't have to calculate the width for big lists, but just uses this default width. Now, the problem is that the Jlist is for some reason replacing the end of an element with dots (...) so that a horizontal scrollbar will never be shown. How do I disable with "wrapping"? So that long elements are not being replaced with dots if they are wider than the Jlist's width? I've reproduced the issue in a small example application.   • Is it possible in .NET to set the local endpoint (IP address) when using webclient to consume a web

    I'm wondering if it is possible using .NET to call a remote web service and in effect specify which IP the call is made on. I'm consuming a service that limits the number of calls I can make based on IP. The service costs in the 20k range after the free limit is used up. I'm very close to enough calls but not quite there using the free service. My server has 3 IP so I could in effect triple the number of calls I could make to the remote service by changing the IP.

  • Why jquery.animate on a textarea make the blinking cursor disapears?

    Hello everyone. I have the following code $(document).ready(function() { $("#myTextArea").focus(function() { $("#myTextArea").animate({ "height": "75px"}, "normal"); return false; }); to expand a textbox when it gets focus. The expand occurs, however the blinking cursor disapears, at least in Firefox! Edited: The textarea is still focused, and i can type on it. Why does this happen? Is there a way to show it again?   • DeferWindowPos and SWP_SHOWWINDOW/SWP_HIDEWINDOW

    I am writing a virtual desktop application which utilises the DeferWindowPos API functions. The current method I am using is moving the windows off the screen if they're not on the current virtual desktop. However I know wish to also hide the windows that are off-screen so they do not appear on the task bar. I have attempted this by also passing SWP_SHOWWINDOW/SWP_HIDEWINDOW to the DeferWindowPos() calls. I have read a few sites regarding this and one of them suggested that if SWP_SHOWWINDOW/SWP_HIDEWINDOW are passed, then the window will only show or hide, and no reposition. Can anyone confirm this, or am I doing something wrong?

However, it doesn't appear to let me do this. It seems like it will allow me to define players if I make it a non-static member variable however.   • C# rotate a string 180 degrees

    Hi im having a few problems rotating a string, i found that you need graphics.rotate() but when i change the rotation, i cannot even see the string. It appears the pivot point has completely thrown me. Also i saw an example with transform but i decided i did not need this? If my string was a graph label, reading top to bottom and i needed to rotate it 180 degrees so that it read bottom to top, how would i do this? Thanks in advance

  • Django Forms: TimeField Validation

    I feel like I'm missing something obvious here. I have a Django form with a TimeField on it. I want to be able to allow times like "10:30AM", but I cannot get it to accept that input format or to use the "%P" format (which has a note attached saying it's a "Proprietary extension", but doesn't say where it comes from). The underlying model has two fields, event_start and event_end, no time fields, so I don't think the problem is in there. What stupid thing am I missing?

We can't use captcha or other techniques like that because this is before we even ask for human input, basically we are logging page hits and we would like to only log page hits by humans.   • Cannot open a .tif with color using .Net Image or Bitmap classes

    I am attempting to open .tif files that have color in them (300 dpi, PixelFormat.Format24bppRgb) using the .Net Image and Bitmap classes. I always get an "invalid parameter" error when the tiffs have color (works fine for black and white tiffs). If anyone has source code on how to open a .tif with color in it I'd deeply appreciate it.   • How to make a DIV auto height resizable even if the content is absolute?

    Hi, i have a container div which is position:relative and the squares are position:absolute because i want to play with their positions. Like what you see, the container does not fit the content except if the squares are positioned in Relative, is there a solution for this?     Hi, I'm a relative PHP newbie implementing a PayPal IPN listener and all seems to be working fine, except I dont really know how to check for a response code. I've tried something ugly with cURL but it doesn't work at all (I'm not understanding cURL). I've tried this piece of code that I grabbed from somewhere on the net: $fp = fsockopen('ssl://www.sandbox.paypal.com', 443, $errno, $errstr, 30); $response_headers = get_headers($fp); $response_code = (int)substr($headers[0], 9, 3); ... but it's not working (returns $response_code = 0). So right now, I'm debugging my IPN code without checking for a Response 200. Can anyone more experienced advise me on what's the proper/simple way to check this? Thanks

  • Resources for setting up a Visual Studio/C++ development environment

    I haven't done much "front-end" development in about 15 years since moving to database development. I'm planning to start work on a personal project using C++ and since I already have MSDN I'll probably end up doing it in Visual Studio 2010. I'm thinking about using Subversion as a version control system eventually. Of course, I'd like to get up and running as quickly as I can, but I'd also like to avoid any pitfalls from a poorly organized project environment. So, my question is, are there any good resources with common best practices for setting up a development environment? I'm thinking along the lines of where to break down a solution into multiple projects if necessary, how to set up a unit testing process, organizing resources, directories, etc. Are there any great add-ons that I should make sure I have set up from the start? Most tutorials just have one simple project, type in your code and click on build to see that your new application says, "Hello World!". This will be a Windows application with several DLLs as well (no web development), so there doesn't need to be a deploy to a web server kind of process. Mostly I just want to make sure that I don't miss anything big and then have to extensively refactor because of it. Thanks!

    This is a piece of my code, it is called every second, after about 10 seconds the values start to become weird (see below): double a; double b; for (int i = 0; i < currAC.Length; i++ ) { a = currAC[i]; b = aveACValues[i]; divisor = (a/b); Console.WriteLine("a = " + a.ToString("N2") + "\t" + "b = " + b.ToString("N2")); Console.WriteLine("divisor = " + divisor); Console.WriteLine("a+b = " + (a+b)); } and the output: a = -0.05 b = 0.00 divisor = 41 a+b = -0.0524010372273268 currAC and aveACValues are double[] what on earth is going on???? The addition result is correct every time, but the division value is wrong, yet it is reading a and b correctly?? EDIT: '41' is the value of the first calculation, ie when a = currAC[0], but this should not remain???

    I was trying to write a simple method: boolean validate(MyObject o) { // propertyA && propertyB are not primitive types. return o.getPropertyA() == null && o.getPropertyB() == null; } And got a strange error on the == null part: Syntax error on token ==. Invalid assignment operator. Maybe my Java is rusty after a season in PLSQL. So I tried a simpler example: Integer i = 4; i == null; // compile error: Syntax error on token ==. Invalid assignment operator. Integer i2 = 4; if (i == null); //No problem How can this be? I'm using jdk160_05. To clarify: I'm not trying to assign anything, just do an && operation between two boolean values. I don't want to do this: if (o.propertyA() == null && o.propertyB() == null) { return true; } else { return false; }

  • How to "reset" subviews of scrollview for new items?

    I have a MasterViewController displaying Items. Selecting an Item (ItemA), displays images of ItemA in a DetailViewController. The DeatilViewController contains a scrollView, displaying all the images. When tableView:didSelectRowAtIndexPath is called, the images is added to an UIImageView, that is tagged and added as a subview to a scrollview. NSUInteger i; for (i = 1; i <= numberOfImages; i++) { NSString *imageName = [ItemAImages objectAtIndex:i-1]; UIImage *image = [UIImage imageNamed:imageName]; UIImageView *imageView = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:image]; imageView.tag = i; [scrollView addSubview:imageView]; } Works fine. But when I go back to the MasterViewController, and selects a ItemB, the ItemA is still displayed, like the iPhone simulator refuses to forget the previous scrollview,containing ItemA images. I have tried [subview removeFromSuperview]; which results in either no scrollview at all, or no effect. Depending on when this method is called. How can I "reset" the scrollview for the next Item?
