  • Rails and MongoDB with MongoMapper

    - by FCastellanos
    I'm new to Rails development and I'm starting with MongoDB also. I have been following this Railscast tutorial about complex forms with Rails but I'm using MongoDB as my database. I'm having no problems inserting documents with it's childs and retrieving the data to the edit form, but when I try to update it I get this error undefined method `assert_valid_keys' for false:FalseClass this is my entity class class Project include MongoMapper::Document key :name, String, :required => true key :priority, Integer many :tasks after_update :save_tasks def task_attributes=(task_attributes) task_attributes.each do |attributes| if attributes[:id].blank? tasks.build(attributes) else task = tasks.detect { |t| t.id.to_s == attributes[:id].to_s } task.attributes = attributes end end end def save_tasks tasks.each do |t| t.save(false) end end end Does anyone knows whats happening here? Thanks

  • Mongomapper - unit testing with shoulda on rails 2.3.5

    - by egarcia
    I'm trying to implement shoulda unit tests on a rails 2.3.5 app using mongomapper. So far I've: Configured a rails app that uses mongomapper (the app works) Added shoulda to my gems, and installed it with rake gems:install Added config.frameworks -= [ :active_record, :active_resource ] to config/environment.rb so ActiveRecord isn't used. My models look like this: class Account include MongoMapper::Document key :name, String, :required => true key :description, String key :company_id, ObjectId key :_type, String belongs_to :company many :operations end My test for that model is this one: class AccountTest < Test::Unit::TestCase should_belong_to :company should_have_many :operations should_validate_presence_of :name end It fails on the first should_belong_to: ./test/unit/account_test.rb:3: undefined method `should_belong_to' for AccountTest:Class (NoMethodError) Any ideas why this doesn't work? Should I try something different from shoulda? I must point out that this is the first time I try to use shoulda, and I'm pretty new to testing itself.

  • Ant: foreach loop

    - by user305801
    I'm trying to use the foreach loop in an Ant script but I get the message: Problem: failed to create task or type foreach Cause: The name is undefined. I don't understand why this doesn't work. It is not a 3rd party library. It is a standard task that would be part of the latest version of Ant (1.8). <target name="parse"> <echo message="The first five letters of the alphabet are:"/> <foreach param="instance" list="a,b,c,d,e"> </foreach> </target>

  • jQuery getScript and Google Maps API Problem

    - by k0ni
    HI I got a problem with loading the google maps api. I got my own object with a function that initializes the map, and the google maps api gets loaded via jquery.getscript. but i always get an error message in the callback function: var MyGMap = { GMapScriptURL: "http://maps.google.com/maps?file=api&v=2&async=2&key=", Map: null, Geocoder: null, InitiazlizeMaps: function () { if (GBrowserIsCompatible()) { this.Map = new GMap2(document.getElementById("map_canvas")); this.Map.setCenter(new GLatLng(37.4419, -122.1419), 13); this.Geocoder = new GClientGeocoder(); } } } $(function(){ var CurrentKey = "MY_KEY"; $.getScript(MyGMap.GMapScriptURL + CurrentKey, function () { MyGMap.InitiazlizeMaps(); // throws GMap2 is undefined }); }); whats wrong? why is this not running?

  • Typescript + requirejs: How to handle circular dependencies?

    - by Aymeric Gaurat-Apelli
    I am in the process of porting my JS+requirejs code to typescript+requirejs. One scenario I haven't found how to handle is circular dependencies. Require.js returns undefined on modules that are also dependent on the current and to solve this problem you can do: MyClass.js define(["Modules/dataModel"], function(dataModel){ return function(){ dataModel = require("Modules/dataModel"); ... } }); Now in typescript, I have: MyClass.ts import dataModel = require("Modules/dataModel"); class MyClass { dataModel: any; constructor(){ this.dataModel = require("Modules/dataModel"); // <- this kind of works but I lose typechecking ... } } How to call require a second time and yet keep the type checking benefits of typescript? dataModel is a module { ... }

  • Communicate between content script and options page

    - by Gaurang Tandon
    I have seen many questions already and all are about background page to content script. Summary My extension has an options page, and a content script. The content script handles the storage functionality (chrome.storage manipulation). Whenever, a user changes a setting in the options page, I want to send a message to the content script to store the new data. My code: options.js var data = "abcd"; // let data chrome.tabs.query({ active: true, currentWindow: true }, function (tabs) { chrome.tabs.sendMessage(tabs[0].id, "storeData:" + data, function(response){ console.log(response); // gives undefined :( }); }); content script js chrome.runtime.onMessage.addListener(function(request, sender, sendResponse) { // not working }); My question: Why isn't the approach not working? Is there any other (better) approach for this procedure.

  • JavaScript setInterval loop not holding variable

    - by Ryan
    Here is my code: var showNo = 1; window.setInterval(function() { console.log(showNo); if(showNo === 1) { var nextNo = 2; } else if(showNo === 2) { var nextNo = 3; } else if(showNo === 3) { var nextNo = 4; } else if(showNo === 4) { var nextNo = 5; } else if(showNo === 5) { var nextNo = 1; } else { var showNo = 1; var nextNo = 2; } var showNo = nextNo; }, 500); My question is, why is the showNo variable not holding when the setInterval loop starts? The console displays 'undefined' in the above example. This may be a simple question, but I am trying to teach myself query and this has me stuck.. Any answers would be great. Thanks.

  • Can I void all JavaScript calls to $

    - by alex
    I need some scripts inside an existing site's scripts.js. This site has been online for ages, and I can not touch the scripts file. I am including it standardly in another page. There are numerous jQuery calls in the scripts file. The place I include it does not have jQuery. I want to void all $() type things. I tried this... $ = function() { }; before I included scripts.js and it didn't seem to work. I am still getting errors like $(document) is undefined Is there a way to void all these jQuery calls? Thanks

  • Referring to this pointer in a static assert?

  • Failed opening 'SiteTest: Firefox.php' when running Yii Functional Test

    - by Phelios
    Warning: include(): Failed opening 'SiteTest: Firefox.php' for inclusion ... \yii\framework\YiiBase.php on line 418 Yii v1.1.10 PHPUnit v3.6.10 PHPUnit_Selenium v 1.2.6 I get this error when trying to run the example on the book "Agile Web Development with Yii 1.1 and PHP5" I kind of feel that there is a problem with the phrase SiteTest:, it shouldn't be there. But, how do I fix this? UPDATE (SOLVED): Apparently, the problem is not the warning shown above, but there is another error down the road. It says that "curl_init()" is undefined. I already enabled the php_curl extension, but the PHP from CLI is not using the same .ini file as the apache one. So, after I enabled the php_curl in the CLI version of the ini, it works fine now (still giving the warning, but the test is running).

  • "[object Object]" passed instead of the actual object as parameter

    - by Andrew Latham
    I am using Heroku with a Ruby on Rails application, and running from Safari. I have the following Ajax call: $.ajax({ type : 'POST', url : '/test_page', data : {stuff: arr1}, dataType : 'script' }); arr1 is supposed to be an array of objects. There's a console.log right before that, and it is: [Object, Object, Object, Object, Object, ...] However, I got an error on the server side when I made this ajax call. The logs showed 2012-10-01T03:13:34+00:00 app[web.1]: Parameters: {"stuff"=>"[object Object]"} 2012-10-01T03:13:34+00:00 app[web.1]: WARNING: Can't verify CSRF token authenticity 2012-10-01T03:13:34+00:00 app[web.1]: NoMethodError (undefined method `to_hash' for "[object Object]":String): 2012-10-01T03:13:34+00:00 app[web.1]: Completed 500 Internal Server Error in 1ms I'm unable to replicate the error. It's really confusing to me - what would cause that string to sometimes be passed to the server instead of the object?

  • Ruby module_function, invoking module's private method, invoked in class method style on module shows error

    - by Jignesh
    test_module.rb module MyModule def module_func_a puts "module_func_a invoked" private_b end module_function :module_func_a private def private_b puts "private_b invoked" end end class MyClass include MyModule def test_module module_func_a end end Invoking module function from class c = MyClass.new c.test_module Output 1: $ ruby test_module.rb module_func_a invoked private_b invoked Invoking module function on module in class method style ma = MyModule.module_func_a Output 2: module_func_a invoked test_module.rb:5:in `module_func_a': undefined local variable or method `private_b' for MyModule:Module (NameError) from test_module.rb:31 As can be seen from the Output 1 and Output 2 when including the module in a class, no issue occurs when a module's private method gets invoked from a module function while in case when directly invoking the module function on the module in class method style the module's private method, invoked from module function, is not found. Can anybody make me understand the reason behind above behavior and whether invoking module function (which in turn invokes module's private method) on module in class method style is possible or not? If possible, then what rectifications are required in my code to do the same? Thanks, Jignesh

  • trying to use ActiveRecord with Sinatra, Migration fails question

    - by David Lazar
    Hi, running Sinatra 1.0, I wanted to add a database table to my program. In my Rakefile I have a task task :environment do ActiveRecord::Base.establish_connection(YAML::load(File.open('config/database.yml'))["development"]) end I have a migration task in my namespace that calls the migration code: namespace :related_products do desc "run any migrations we may have in db/migrate" task :migrate => :environment do ActiveRecord::Migrator.migrate('db/migrate', ENV["VERSION"] ? ENV["VERSION"].to_i : nil ) end My console pukes out an error when the call to ActiveRecord::MIgrator.migrate() is made. rake aborted! undefined method `info' for nil:NilClass The migration code itself is pretty simple... and presents me with no clues as to what this missing info class is. class CreateStores < ActiveRecord::Migration def self.up create_table :stores do |t| t.string :name t.string :access_url t.timestamps end end def self.down drop_table :stores end end I am a little mystified here and am looking for some clues as to what might be wrong. Thanks!

  • JCarousel scroll method does not always fire

    - by Scott Faisal
    var carousel = jQuery('#mycarousel').data('jcarousel'); var index = carousel.size() + 1; carousel.size(index); var html = '<li> some html </li>'; carousel.add(index, html); carousel.scroll(index, 1); The very last scroll method fires but not always. Is this a bug in JCarousel? The following is the code for the scroll method in JCarousel: /** * Scrolls the carousel to a certain position. * * @method scroll * @return undefined * @param i {Number} The index of the element to scoll to. * @param a {Boolean} Flag indicating whether to perform animation. */ scroll: function(i, a) { if (this.locked || this.animating) return; this.animate(this.pos(i), a); }

  • Problem linking SDL_Image against libpng

    - by Tim Jones
    I'm trying to compile SDL_Image 1.2.10 with MinGW + MSys (gcc 4.5.0) on Windows, I have compiled all the requires libs (zlib 1.2.5, libpng 1.4.2, libjpeg 8a, libtiff 3.9.2). SDL_Image compiles fine, but fails to link to libpng, throwing .libs/IMG_png.o:IMG_png.c:(.text+0x16): undefined reference errors on various png structs. If I run ./configure --prefix=/mingw --disable-png for SDL_Image, it compiles and links against the other libs just fine. I have tried older versions of libpng (1.2.43), but they also caused SDL_Image to throw the same errors.

  • Can I configure NUnit so that Debug.Fail doesn't show a message box when I run my tests?

  • Rails3. How do I display two different objects in a search?

    - by JZ
    I am using a simple search that displays search results: @adds = Add.search(params[:search]) In addition to the search results I'm trying to utilize a method, nearbys(), which displays objects that are close in proximity to the search result. The following method displays objects which are close to 2, but it does not display object 2. How do I display object 2 in conjunction with the nearby objects? @adds = Add.find(2).nearbys(10) While the above code functions, when I use search, @adds = Add.search(params[:search]).nearbys(10) a no method error is returned, undefined methodnearbys' for Array:0x30c3278` How can I search the model for an object AND use the nearbys() method AND display all results returned?

  • ngModel and component with isolated scope

    - by Artem Andreev
    I am creating simple ui-datetime directive. It splits javascript Date object into _date, _hours and _minutes parts. _date uses jquery ui datepicker, _hours and _minutes - number inputs. See example: http://jsfiddle.net/andreev_artem/nWsZp/3/ On github: https://github.com/andreev-artem/angular_experiments/tree/master/ui-datetime As far as I understand - best practice when you create a new component is to use isolated scope. When I tried to use isolated scope - nothing works. ngModel.$viewValue === undefined. When I tried to use new scope (my example, not so good variant imho) - ngModel uses value on newly created scope. Of course I can create directive with isolated scope and work with ngModel value through "=expression" (example). But I think that working with ngModelController is a better practice. My questions: Can I use ngModelController with isolated scope? If it is not possible which solution is better for creating such component?

    I'm working on a web application, using the CAKEPHP framework. Herefor i need to request one variable on multiple pages (all pages have different controllers). it is oubvious that i get a error on several pages, since the variable isn't declared in all the different controllers. Is there a workaround for this? i've already tried the app:: import to import a controller in another controller, but this doens't seem to work (still get a undefined variable error). Thnx for your cooperation! Regards, Simon

  • Rails - How do i update a records value in a join model ?

    - by ChrisWesAllen
    I have a join model in a HABTM relationship with a through association (details below). I 'm trying to find a record....find the value of that records attribute...change the value and update the record but am having a hard time doing it. The model setup is this User.rb has_many :choices has_many :interests, :through => :choices Interest.rb has_many :choices has_many :users, :through => :choices Choice.rb belongs_to :user belongs_to :interest and Choice has the user_id, interest_id, score as fields. And I find the ?object? like so @choice = Choice.where(:user_id => @user.id, :interest_id => interest.id) So the model Choice has an attribute called :score. How do I find the value of the score column....and +1/-1 it and then resave? I tried @choice.score = @choice.score + 1 @choice.update_attributes(params[:choice]) flash[:notice] = "Successfully updated choices value." but I get "undefined method score"......What did i miss?
