  • Customer count map (Google maps?)

    I have a two column list consisting of a US zipcode and a count (number of customers in this case). I want to put this data onto a map. Would Google maps API be a good fit for this? It seems like this would be a common enough type of problem to already have an existing (preferably Java based) solution without having to re-invent the wheel. Any suggestions?

  • displaying search results of more than one word

    in my search form, if the user types 'good', it displays all the results which contain the keyword 'good'. however if the user types in 'good sweetest', it displays no results because there is no record with the two words appearing together; BUT appearing in an entry at different places. for example, the record says: A good action is an ever-remaining store and a pure yield the user types in 'good', it will show up this record, but if the user types in 'good' + 'pure', it will not show anything. or if the record contains the keyword 'good-deeds' and if the user types in 'good deeds' without the hyphen, it will not show anything. what i would like is that if the user types in 'good' + 'pure' or 'good deeds' it should records containing these keywords highlighting them. search.php code: $search_result = ""; $search_result = $_POST["q"]; $search_result = trim($search_result); //Check if the string is empty if ($search_result == "") { echo "<p class='error'>Search Error.   • Complex Entity Framework linked-graphs issue: how to limit change set / break the graph?

    I have an EDMX containing Sentences, and Words, say and a Sentence contains three Words, say. Appropriate FK relationships exist between the tables. I create some words: Word word1 = new Word(); Word word2 = ... I build a Sentence: Sentence x = new Sentence (word1, word2, word3); I build another Sentence: Sentence y = new Sentence (word1, word4, word5); I try to save x to the database, but EF builds a change set that includes everything, including y, word4 and word5 that aren't ready to save to the database. When SaveChanges() happens it throws an exception: Unable to determine the principal end of the ... relationship. Multiple added entities may have the same primary key. I think it does this because Word has an EntityCollection<Sentence> on it from the FK relationship between the two tables, and thus Sentence y is inextricably linked to Sentence x through word1. So I remove the Navigation Property Sentences from Word and try again. It still tries to put the entire graph into the change set. What suggestions do the Entity Framework experts have for ways to break this connection. Essentially what I want is a one-way mapping from Sentence to Word; I don't want an EntityCollection<Sentence> on Word and I don't want the object graph to get intertwined like this. Code sample: This puts two sentences into the database because Verb1 links them and EF explores the entire graph of existing objects and added objects when you do Add/SaveChanges. I can correct the problem by writing cout << (a>temp); where the operator> is similarly defined and i get no errors. but my assignment requires (temp < a) to work so this is where i ask for help.   • jQuery prevent paste to iframe designmode from MS Word

    I've seen some questions on catching the paste event. This looks helpful. But I want to prevent paste on a designmode iframe from happening when the pasted content is not plaintext, but comes from MS Word or other WYSIWYG editor. What is experience on that? I suppose I should catch the event (bind to iframe or to its body?) and look for some specific tags in the clipboard. What content does Internet Explorer add every time? [edit] After doing more research I see there is no easy way to work with clipboard in non Internet Explorer browser except some Flash tricks. I don't want them. How can I detect paste in Firefox and others then?
