  • Rendering GDI components to a buffer or d3d texture

    Hi, I'm trying to redirect the output of a GDI application to a buffer, preferably a d3d texture but I'll settle for a system memory buffer that I can then copy to a d3d texture. Specifically, I'm trying to get Google Chrome to render into a d3d buffer to be displayed in a d3d application. Are there any foolproof ways to do this or am I opening the mother of all worm-cans?     I am looking into Javascript programming without a browser. I want to run scripts from the Linux or Mac OS X command line, much like we run any other scripting language (ruby, php, perl, python...) $ javascript my_javascript_code.js I looked into spider monkey (Mozilla) and v8 (Google), but both of these appear to be embedded. Is anyone using Javascript as a scripting language to be executed from the command line? If anyone is curious why I am looking into this, I've been poking around node.js

  • Ultimate chat-client API for .NET?

    Does anyone know of a .NET API (source-code is preferrable of course) that I can access all the common chat clients thru it (GT, Yahoo, MSN, AIM, FB, ICQ, SKYPE and more)? I guess I am looking for a .NET library project that performs something like pidjin. I need it because I hate Pidgin's interface and functionality, and I want to have a Google-Talk desktop like UI.   • Good alternative to .net DateTimePicker?

    I can't really explain why exactly, but I really hate the .net DateTimePicker control built into C#.net and VB.net. Is anyone aware of a good alternative to either of these controls which is freely available? I'm sure I'm not the only one who doesn't like the control. The date picker in Google Calendar is one which I really like, so I'd love something like that which I can use in a .net app.

    Looking at http://www.nearmap.com/, Just wondering if you can approximate how much storage is needed to store the images? (NearMap’s monthly city PhotoMaps are captured at 3cm, 5cm, 7.5cm, or 10cm resolution) And what kind of systems/architecture is suitable to deliver those data/images? (say you are not Google, and want to implement this from scratch, what would you do? ) ie. would you store the images in Hadoop, and use memcache to deliver etc ?

  • Why not use Git?

    A lot of people like git (in particular this guy) against other SCMs such as SVN, but many projects, even new ones, are set up using alternative SCMs. Furthermore, Google Code still does not support it (although many of their large open source projects use it). My question is: what are the reasons for not using git in any project, whether it be personal or collaborative? Maybe I've just been brainwashed by this guy, but I can't see any area in which other SCMs excel over git.

  • Authlogic_OpenID - "uninitialized constant Rack::OpenID"

    So I followed the railscast tutorial (http://railscasts.com/episodes/170-openid-with-authlogic) and used the old version of the plugin from Ryan's git file. I can now successfuly create/register a user using OpenID (Google), but I cannot log in with this user. When I submit the OpenID that has been registered, I get "uninitialized constant Rack::OpenID". Any ideas? Thanks!

  • how to display formatted text but have the actual text

    hello I have my own textbox witch inherits System.Windows.Forms.TextBox I am trying to display texts like 5000000 formatted == 5,000,000 but the problem is that Control.Text should return 5000000 but it should display 5,000,000. I know it is WTF, but i really need it and i couldn't Google a lot because my native language is not English(and anyone can get it from my grammar and Im sorry for that).
