  My .net app generates messages which it sends via the google hosted mailserver. I'd link to track the results so I can see bounced and invalid domain messages. How (and/or where) do i embed something in either the body or another element of the message that lets me link the original message with any and all following smtp traffic? Is the problem is complicated by the fact that out-going is handled by googlemail? Native IIS services running under winserver08. logparser should be an integral part of my solution, shouldn't it? thx

  On a quite ancient UNIX (Apple A/UX 3.0.1 for 680x0 processors) using the built-in c compiler (cc), this issue arrises. Here is the code I'm trying to compile: #include <stdlib.h> #include <stdio.h> int main() int argc; char **argv; { if (argc > 1) puts(argv[1]); return (EXIT_SUCCESS); } And here is the output I get: pigeonz.root # cc -c test.c "test.c", line 5: declared argument argc is missing "test.c", line 6: declared argument argv is missing Using a more modern prototype did not help, nor did the manual page, nor a quick google search.   I observe that placing the following in an external script file has the desired effect in my copies of Firefox and Google Chrome: var s = document.createElement('script'); s.setAttribute('type', 'text/javascript'); s.setAttribute('src', 'http://www.example.com/external_script.js'); s.onload = function () { doSomethingNowThatExternalScriptHasLoaded } document.getElementsByTagName('body')[0].appendChild(s); It adds a an external script tag to them DOM, and attaches a function to the tag for when the script has loaded. I'm having trouble testing in Internet Explorer right now, but I'm not sure if it's related to that addition in particular, or something else. Does this method work in the more modern versions of other browsers, including IE7/8? If not, how else could I go about this?

  Hello, A Facebook Sync app filled the address fields of my Mac Address Book contacts with their cities. Having tons of people who have useless addresses makes it difficult to search by people on Google Maps app (ending up scrolling through many many people- I only want to see those who have proper addresses entered). I want to clear all the home address fields in my address book using applescript. I wrote something small but couldn't get it to work, probably needs some help from somebody who knows applescript :) tell application "Address Book" repeat with this_person in every person repeat with this_address in every address of this_person if label of this_address is "home" then remove this_address from addresses of this_person end if end repeat end repeat end tell I tried to deduct the logic of multiple addresses/phones from other scripts but could only find adding them, not removing them. • CPU and profiling not supported for remote jvisualvm session

  When monitoring a remote app (using jstatd) I can neither profile nor monitor cpu consumption. Heap monitoring (provided I do not use G1) works. jvisualvm provides the message "Not supported for this JVM." in the CPU graph window. Is there anything missing in my setup? The google showed up next to no results.   My co-worker and I have come across this warning message a couple times recently. For the below code: package com.mycompany.product.data; import com.mycompany.product.dao.GenericDAO; public abstract class EntityBean { public abstract GenericDAO<Object, Long> getDAO(); // ^^^^^^ <-- WARNING OCCURS HERE } the warning appears in the listed spot as EntityBean.getDAO() has non-API return type GenericDAO<T, ID> A Google search for "has non-API return type" only shows instances where this message appears in problem lists. I.e., there's no public explanation for it. What does this mean? We can create a usage problem filter in Eclipse to make the message go away, but we don't want to do this if our usage is a legitimate problem. Thanks!

  I'm trying to install libjpeg on os X to fix a problem with the Python Imaging Library JPEG setup. I downloaded libjpeg from http://www.ijg.org/files/jpegsrc.v7.tar.gz I then began to setup the config file cp /usr/share/libtool/config.sub . cp /usr/share/libtool/config.guess . ./configure –enable-shared However, the enable-shared flag didn't seem to work. $ ./configure –-enable-shared configure: WARNING: you should use --build, --host, --target configure: WARNING: invalid host type: –-enable-shared checking build system type... Invalid configuration `–-enable-shared': machine `–-enable' not recognized configure: error: /bin/sh ./config.sub –-enable-shared failed I've done lot's of google searches and I can't figure out where the error is or how to work around this error.

• Wordpress auto-generated "canonical" links - how to add a custom URL parameter?

  Hello - Does anyone know how to modify the Wordpress canonical links to add a custom URL parameter? I have a Wordpress site with a page that queries a separate (non-Wordpress) database. I passed the URL parameter "pubID" to display individual books and it is working OK. Example: http://www.uglyducklingpresse.org/catalog/browse/item/?pubID=63 But the individual book pages are not showing up properly in Google - the ?pubID parameter is stripped out. I think maybe this is because all the item pages have the same auto-generated "canonical" URL link tag in the source - one with the "pubID" parameter stripped out. Example: link rel='canonical' href='http://www.uglyducklingpresse.org/catalog/browse/item/' Is there a way to perhaps edit .htaccess to add a custom URL parameter to Wordpress, so that the parameter is not stripped out by permalinks and the "canonical" links? Or maybe there's another solution ... Thank you for any ideas!

• What is the `name` keyword in JavaScript?

  When I typed this apparently innocent snippet of code: values.name gedit highlighted name as a keyword. However, name is not listed by the pages linked to by an answer to a question about reserved keywords. I also did a couple trivial tests in SpiderMonkey, but name seemed to act like an ordinary identifier. A Google search didn't tell me much either. However, I did find a page listing name in "Other JavaScript Keywords". My guess is that name is a function or a member of some DOM element and does not intrude on the namespace. Is name really a keyword in JavaScript? If so, what does it do?

• Using FourSquare API in a Rails App

  Anybody have any good resources that might be helpful in trying to integrate the FourSquare API into a Rails app? I'm specifically looking for a good tutorial. There doesn't seem to be much out there yet. There are a few ruby gems, but they are pretty bare bones and I need a bit more hand-holding. If my html template contains the css styles: <div class="margin:10 10 10 0"> <a href="domain.name">Go To</a></div> In this case it works good. But if I send: <a href="domain.name">Go&nbsp;To</a> then I see the letter that comes with broken styles as there (3D is not my misprint) <div style=3D"margin:10 10 10 10;"><a href=3D"www.google.com">Go=C2=A0To</a></div> Well as the letter goes broken when I insert in the template symbols from national alphabets. Somebody can tell what the problem and check with yourself?

• Deploying a PyQt application on Windows Vista x64

  I'm working on an application for a client/friend using PyQt. I've been working on Linux and testing on Vista, but the target computer is Vista x64. Now, Python comes with compiled binaries of Python 2.6 for 64 bit Windows, but Riverbank don't provide 64 bit binaries for PyQt. I don't have much access to the target computer, so I can't really go through the hassle of compiling PyQt. This Google code project might be the solution, but I'm not sure if it's going to work. Can I use something like py2exe from 32 bit Vista, or would I have to have to make the executable from a 64 bit machine with PyQt 64 bit installed? Basically, am I going to have to compile PyQt on the target machine?

• OpenLayers Projections.

  I can succesfully do: point.transform(new OpenLayers.Projection("EPSG:900913"), new OpenLayers.Projection("EPSG:4326")); To a point that is in the google format (in meters), but when I want to do the reverse: point.transform(new OpenLayers.Projection("EPSG:4326"), new OpenLayers.Projection("EPSG:900913")); to a point that is in 4326 (regular lat/lon format), I am having some issues. Any negative value seems to become NaN (not a number) when I do the transformation. Is there something about the transformation in reverse that I don't understand? Edit: Even worse, when I have no negative values, the coordinates seem off. I am getting the coordinates by drawing a square on the screen, then saving those coordinates to a database and loading them later. I can draw a square near the tip of africa (positive coordinates), and then when it loads it's near the top of africa, in the atlantic ocean. I'm definitely doing something wrong....

• MVC2 Annotations dll not found by VS2008 compiler, how do I make it look in the right place?

  I have VS2008 SP1 running with .NET 3.5 SP1 I have MVC2 running (with MVC1 uninstalled) All works ok except when I call the System.Components.DatAnnotations.dll, then the compiler complains of not being able to find it. Message is: Could not load file or assembly 'System.ComponentModel.DataAnnotations, Version=99.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. I tried repairing and reinstalling SP1 of both VS and .Net framework. I also tried referencing the assembly by browsing to it in the Reference assemblies in Programs directory. I have tried out most of the Google search result forum results but to no avail, I think it may be something simple which I have over looked. Any ideas?
