  • How to do a proper search with nhibernate

    Hello everyone, i'm working on a small project that is supposed to allow basic searches of the database. Currently i'm using nhibernate for the database interaction. In the database i have 2 tables: Person and Address. The Person table has a many-to-one relationship with Address. The code i've come up with for doing searches is: public IList<T> GetByParameterList(List<QueryParameter> parameterList) { if (parameterList == null) { return GetAll(); } using (ISession session = NHibernateHelper.OpenSession()) { ICriteria criteria = session.CreateCriteria<T>(); foreach (QueryParameter param in parameterList) { switch (param.Constraint) { case ConstraintType.Less: criteria.Add(Expression.Lt(param.ParameterName, param.ParameterValue)); break; case ConstraintType.More: criteria.Add(Expression.Gt(param.ParameterName, param.ParameterValue)); break; case ConstraintType.LessOrEqual: criteria.Add(Expression.Le(param.ParameterName, param.ParameterValue)); break; case ConstraintType.EqualOrMore: criteria.Add(Expression.Ge(param.ParameterName, param.ParameterValue)); break; case ConstraintType.Equals: criteria.Add(Expression.Eq(param.ParameterName, param.ParameterValue)); break; case ConstraintType.Like: criteria.Add(Expression.Like(param.ParameterName, param.ParameterValue)); break; } } try { IList<T> result = criteria.List<T>(); return result; } catch { //TODO: Implement some exception handling throw; } } } The query parameter is a helper object that i use to create criterias and send it to the dal, it looks like this: public class QueryParameter { public QueryParameter(string ParameterName, Object ParameterValue, ConstraintType constraintType) { this.ParameterName = ParameterName; this.ParameterValue = ParameterValue; this.Constraint = constraintType; } public string ParameterName { get; set; } public Object ParameterValue { get; set; } public ConstraintType Constraint { get; set; } } Now this works well if i'm doing a search like FirstName = "John" , but not when i try to give a parameter like Street = "Some Street". It seems that nhibernate is looking for a street column in the Person table but not in the Address table. Any idea on how should i change my code for so i could do a proper search? Tips? Assume you can add a collection of items to a list and do the usual CRUD , is it preferred to create one feature for this complete set of CRUD actions or a feature for each? What is the preferred/accepted method ? At what point does an action become a feature itself ?

  • Autohide scrollbars when not scrolling in a ListView

    In the new official Twitter app, the scrollbars in all the ListViews the app uses are hidden unless the user is scrolling through the list. When you start scrolling, the scrollbars appear. When you stop, they fade out with an animation until they are gone completely. I can't seem to find anything in the documentation that indicates this as being a standard feature. Is this something included in the API? If not, anyone know how this might be done?

And I know that I can use geopy to convert an inputted address into coordinates.   • GTK Scolled Window - Keep Scroll Bar at bottom

    I have a GTK/C++ program that uses a ScrolledWindow. I keep adding data to the list within the scrolled window, and I want to keep focus on the newest item. But I also want to allow the user to scroll through the data to select an old item. Is there a way to do this? I've looked everywhere but can't find anything.

I noticed the code looks like absolute bollocks (is the the correct usage? Im not a brit) and would like some feedback on optimizing it, mostly for reuse and readability. How can I get around this? I'd like those two to take higher precedence than the reserved words.

    I have a Gridview that shows a list of files previously uploaded to the server with a HyperLink control to be able to download it, I need to force a download every time the user clicks on one of the provided links, so that the file does not open directly on the browser (they are usually images). Currently I have a side-server function that forces a download, but I do not know how to assign this function to each one of the links when the user clicks on it.

  • How to use the Bass library to convert audio to another format (using C#)

I'm trying to create a "simple" program that allows me to create a list of video files (Youtube video's to be precise) that are then run through by my program and converted any given format to pure MP3 audio. For this purpose I'm trying to use the BASS.dll and well it isn't going so well. I was wondering if anyone has used BASS to convert from one audio format to another? Or is there another library better suited for this?
