  Hi, I have the following error Exception in thread "main" javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: CounterBean not bound trying to access an EJB JAR CounterBean.jar deployed on JBoss5 from a client application outside the Application Server. From the Jboss log, it looks like it does not have a global JNDI name? Is this ok? What have I done wrong? • Cannot use standard android color attribute in custom color selector

  So, android defines the following in themes.xml: <style name="Theme"> ... <item name="colorPressedHighlight">@color/legacy_pressed_highlight</item> </style> and: <style name="Theme.Holo"> ... <item name="colorPressedHighlight">@color/holo_blue_light</item> </style> I want to use this colorPressedHighlight as the background color for my custom Button when it is pressed.   Hi, I'm trying to integrate ads (admob) into my Android app. It's mostly working, except for one issue with the layout. However, they seem to be overlayed or drawn on top of the bottom portion of the grid view. I would like the gridview to be shorter, so that the ad can fill the bottom portion of the screen, and not hide part of the gridview. The problem is most annoying when you scroll all the way to the bottom of the gridview, and you still cannot fully see the last row items in the grid due to the ad. I'm not sure if this is the standard way that AdMob ads work. If this is the case, adding some padding to the bottom of the grid (if that's possible) would due the trick. That way the user can scroll a bit further, and see the last row in addition to the ad. I just switched from using LinearLayout to RelativeLayout after reading some similar issues with ListViews. Now my ad is along the bottom instead of above the grid, so I'm getting closer. Thoughts? -Kevin

• Metro UsernameToken Policy

  I created a web services client prototype using api's available in weblogic 10.3. I've been told I need to use Metro 2.0 instead (it's already being used for other projects). The problem I have encounter is that the WSDL does not include any Security Policy information but a UsernameToken is required for each method call. In weblogic I was able to write my own policy xml file and instantiate my service with it (see below), however I can not seem to figure out how to do the same using Metro. • Python Ctypes Read/WriteProcessMemory() - Error 5/998 Help!

  Please don't get scared but the following code, if you are familiar with ctypes or C it should be easy to read. I have been trying to get my ReadProcessMemory() and WriteProcessMemory() functions to be working for so long and have tried almost every possibility but the right one. It launches the target program, returns its PID and handle just fine. But I always get a error code of 5 - ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED. When I run the read function(forget the write for now). I am launching this program as what I believe to be a CHILD process with PROCESS_ALL_ACCESS or CREATE_PRESERVE_CODE_AUTHZ_LEVEL. I have also tried PROCESS_ALL_ACCESS and PROCESS_VM_READ when I open the handle. I can also say that it is a valid memory location because I can find it on the running program with CheatEngine. As for VirtualQuery() I get an error code of 998 - ERROR_NOACCESS which further confirms my suspicion of it being some security/privilege problem. • jQuery Cycle plugin IE6/7 issues

  I've implemented a slideshow using the Cycle plugin, which is working in all browsers except IE6&7, where the images just show up in a list, and the #page_copy div is not hiding. I've been going through the code all day without any luck, and not exactly sure how or what I should be looking for. What would be the best way to go about debugging this issue? • XML Socket and Regular Socket in Flash/Flex does not send message immediately.

  I am trying to build a basic RIA where my Flex application client opens an XML socket, sends the xml message "people_list" to server, and prints out the response. I have ruby at the server side and I have successfully set up the security policy stuff. The ruby xml server, successfully accepts the connections from Flex, successfully detects when they are closed and can also send messages to client. But; there is a problem... It cannot receive messages from flex client. The messages sent from flex client are queued and sent as one package when the socket is closed. Therefore, the whole wait-for-request-then-reply thing is not working... This is also -kinda- mentioned in the XMLSocket.send() document, where it is stated that the messages are sent async so; they may be delivered at any time in future. But; I need them to be synced, flushed or whatever. • Entrepreneur Needs Programmers, Architects, or Engineers?

  Hi guys (Ladies included). I posted on a related site, but THIS is the place to be. I want to build a specialized website. I am an entrepreneur and refining valuations now for venture capitalsists: i.e., determining how much cash I will need. I need help in understanding what human resources I need (i.e., Software Programmers, Architects, Engineers, etc.)??? Trust me, I have read most--if not all--of the threads here on the subject, and I can tell you I am no closer to the answer than ever. Here's my technology problem: The website will include (2) main components: a search engine (web crawler)...and a very large database. The search engine will not be a competitor to google, obviously; however, it "will" require bots to scour the web. The website will be, basically, a statistical database....where users should be able to pull up any statistic from "numerous" fields. Like any entrepreneur with a web-based vision, I'm "hoping" to get 100+ million registered users eventually. However, practically, we will start as small as feasible. As regards the technology (database architecture, servers, etc.), I do want quality, quality, quality. My priorities are speed, and the capaility to be scalable...so that if I "did" get globally large, we could do it without having to re-engineer anything. In other words, I want the back-end and the "infrastructure" to be scalable and professional....with emphasis on quality. I am not an IT professional. Although I've built several Joomla-based websites, I'm just a rookie who's only used minor javascript coding to modify a few plug-ins and components. The business I'm trying to create requires specialization and experts. I want to define the problem and let a capable team create the final product, and I will stay totally hands off. So who do you guys suggest I hire to run this thing? A software engineer? I was thinking I would need a "database engineer," a "systems security engineer", and maybe 2 or 3 "programmers" for the search engine. Also a web designer...and maybe a part-time graphic designer...everyone working under a single software engineer. What do you guys think? Who should I hire?...I REALLY need help from some people in the industry (YOU guys) on this. Is this project do-able in 6 months? If so, how many people will I need? Who exactly needs to head up this thing?...Senior software engineer, an embedded engineer, a CC++ engineer, a java engineer, a database engineer? And do I build this thing is Ruby or Java?

  We have a WCF service with multiple clients to schedule operations amongst clients. It worked great on XP. Moving to win7, I can only connect a client to the server on the same machine. At this point, I'm thinking it's something to do with IPv6, but I'm stumped as to how to proceed. Client trying to connect to a remote server gives the following exception: System.ServiceModel.EndpointNotFoundException: Could not connect to net.tcp://10.7.11.14:18297/zetec/Service/SchedulerService/Scheduler. Now, the Java versions on the two machines are slightly different. Both the machines have Sun's java, the Linux machine has 1.6.0_10, while the Windows machine has 1.6.0_08, or maybe 07 or 06, I can't remember the exact number right now, and don't have the machine at hand. But even though the minor versions of the Javas are slightly different, the code shouldn't break like this. Does anyone understand what's wrong here?

I guess that maybe the encryption / decryption process uses the application name / file or something and therefore means I can not open it. Does anyone have an idea as to: A) Be able explain why this isn't working? B) Offer a solution that would allow me to be able to open files that were created with the legacy application and be able to convert them please? Thank you

• iPhone UIWebView: loadData does not work with certain types (Excel, MSWord, PPT, RTF)

  My task is to display the supported document types on an iPhone with OS 3.x, such as .pdf, .rtf, .doc, .ppt, .png, .tiff etc. Now, I have stored these files only encrypted on disk. For security reasons, I want to avoid storing them unencrypted on disk. Hence, I prefer to use loadData:MIMEType:textEncodingName:baseURL: instead of loadRequest: to display the document because loadData allows me to pass the content in a NSData object, i.e. I can decrypt the file in memory and have no need to store it on disk, as it would be required when using loadRequest. The problem is that loadData does not appear to work with all file types: Testing shows that all picture types seem to work fine, as well as PDFs, while the more complex types don't. I get a errors such as: NSURLErrorDomain Code=100 NSURLErrorDomain Code=102 WebView appears to need a truly working URL for accessing the documents as a file, despite me offering all content via the NSData object already. Here's the code I use to display the content: [webView loadData:data MIMEType:type textEncodingName:@"utf-8" baseURL:nil]; The mime-type is properly set, e.g. to "application/msword" for .doc files. Does anyone know how I could get loadData to work with all types that loadRequest supports? Or, alternatively, is there some way I can tell which types do work for sure (i.e. officially sanctioned by Apple) with loadData? Then I can work twofold, creating a temp unencrypted file only for those cases that loadData won't like. Update Looks like I'm not the first one running into this. This is probably a bit more memory-intensive, though, as both the server and the webview will probably both hold the entire contents in memory as two copies then, as opposed to using loadData, where both would rather share the same data object. (Mind you, I'll have to hold the decrypted data in memory, that's the whole point here).

The entity class has arraylist and on trying to retrieve the data from data base I'm getting the exception: Type 'org.datanucleus.sco.backed.ArrayList' was not included in the set of types which can be serialized by this SerializationPolicy or its Class object could not be loaded. For security purposes, this type will not be serialized. I'm using JPA. • Microsoft Charting Histogram Zero With Line

  I am currently developing an application that uses chart control to create a histogram. The histogram displays data correctly however I would like to center the data. Right now the Min and Max are automatically set. I would like the graph to always force its to be displayed symmetrically. Here is an example of what I'm trying to accomplish. Basically I would like it to look like a normal distribution graph. Does anyone know how I can do the the following: Get the graph to be displayed symmetrically? Always show a zero line. • jQuery show/hide menu problem

  Hi folks, I am encountering an odd behavior using jQuery to show/hide a menu. I have an absolutely positioned div which contains an "activator " div (relatively positioned) which I want to reveal a menu on moseover. Menu div is contained by the activator div and is also relatively positioned. I was working on assumption that since it would be contained by the activator that rolloff would not be triggered when the mouse travels over into the reveled menu. When you roll onto the revealed menu however show/hide starts pulsing and does so a second or so even after the mouse clears the area. • F# Add Constructor to a Record?

  Basically I want to have a single construct to deal with serializing to both JSON and formatted xml. Records workd nicley for serializing to/from json. However XmlSerializer requires a parameterless construtor. I don't really want to have to go through the exercise of building class objects for these constructs (principal only). I was hoping there could be some shortcut for getting a parameterless constructor onto a record (perhaps with a wioth statement or something). • JavaScript/Dojo Module Pattern - how to debug?

  I'm working with Dojo and using the "Module Pattern" as described in Mastering Dojo. So far as I can see this pattern is a general, and widely used, JavaScript pattern. My question is: How do we debug our modules? So far I've not been able to persuade Firebug to show me the source of my module. Firebug seems to show only the dojo eval statement used to execute the factory method. Hence I'm not able to step through my module source. I've tried putting "debugger" statements in my module code, and Firebug seems to halt correctly, but does not show the source. Contrived example code below. This is just an example of sufficient complexity to make the need for debugging plausible, it's not intended to be useful code. • Still getting duplicate token error after calling DuplicateTokenEx for impersonated token

  I'm trying to return a Sytem.IntPtr from a service call so that the client can use impersonation to call some code. My imersonation code works properly if not passing the token back from a WCF service. I'm not sure why this is not working. According to the MSDN documentation I read here I should be able to create a token valid for delegation and use across the context on remote systems.
