  • strcmp equivelant for integers (intcmp) in PHP

    - by Chase
    So we got this function in PHP strcmp(string $1,string $2) // returns -1,0, or 1; We Do not however, have an intcmp(); So i created one: function intcmp($a,$b) { if((int)$a == (int)$b)return 0; if((int)$a > (int)$b)return 1; if((int)$a < (int)$b)return -1; } This just feels dirty. What do you all think?

  • Loading of external SWF results in a "Could not find resource bundle messaging" error

    - by Leeron
    I'm using flash.display.Loader to load this example SWF as a use-case for loading SWFs that uses flex charting components in an application I'm working on. This is the code I'm using to load the swf: Main.mxml: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <mx:Application xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" creationComplete="onCreationComplete(event);"> <mx:Script> <![CDATA[ import mx.events.FlexEvent; import myLoaderClass; private function onCreationComplete( e:FlexEvent ):void { trace("Init!"); var l:myLoaderClass = new myLoaderClass(); this.addChild(l); } ]]> </mx:Script> </mx:Application> myLoaderClass: package { import mx.core.UIComponent; import flash.display.DisplayObject; import flash.display.DisplayObjectContainer; import flash.display.Loader; import flash.display.Sprite; import flash.display.StageAlign; import flash.display.StageScaleMode; import flash.events.Event; import flash.events.ProgressEvent; import flash.net.URLRequest; import flash.text.TextField; import flash.text.TextFieldType; import flash.utils.Dictionary; public class JittRunner extends UIComponent { private var displayedObjects:Dictionary; public function JittRunner():void { displayedObjects = new Dictionary(); if (stage) init(); else addEventListener(Event.ADDED_TO_STAGE, init); } private function init(e:Event = null):void { removeEventListener(Event.ADDED_TO_STAGE, init); var mLoader:Loader = new Loader(); var mRequest:URLRequest = new URLRequest('ChartSampler.swf'); mLoader.load(mRequest); } } } The thing is, the minute the swf is loaded I'm getting the following runtime error: Error: Could not find resource bundle messaging at mx.resources::ResourceBundle$/getResourceBundle()[C:\autobuild\3.5.0\frameworks\projects\framework\src\mx\resources\ResourceBundle.as:143] at mx.utils::Translator$cinit() at global$init() at mx.messaging.config::ServerConfig$cinit() at global$init() at _app_FlexInit$/init() at mx.managers::SystemManager/http://www.adobe.com/2006/flex/mx/internal::docFrameHandler()[C:\autobuild\3.5.0\frameworks\projects\framework\src\mx\managers\SystemManager.as:3217] at mx.managers::SystemManager/docFrameListener()[C:\autobuild\3.5.0\frameworks\projects\framework\src\mx\managers\SystemManager.as:3069] What am I doing wrong here?

  • How to use JQuery to remove dynamic content?

    - by ed.talmadge
    I have an html page that is generated by a CMS. I cannot modify the page, but can add JavaScript. Each time the page loads, a JavaScript function (that I cannot modify) dynamically inserts a paragraph onto the page. How can I use JQuery to .remove() that paragraph whenever it is loaded? For example, when the page first loads, it look like this (blank): <div></div> Then, a few seconds later, a JavaScript function (that I have no control over) adds a paragraph to the page. The page then looks like this: <div><p id="foo">bar</p></div> How can I use JQuery to remove the paragraph with id=foo each time it is dynamically loaded onto the page?

  • How do you override operator == when using interfaces instead of actual types?

    - by RickL
    I have some code like this: How should I implement the operator == so that it will be called when the variables are of interface IMyClass? public class MyClass : IMyClass { public static bool operator ==(MyClass a, MyClass b) { if (ReferenceEquals(a, b)) return true; if ((Object)a == null || (Object)b == null) return false; return false; } public static bool operator !=(MyClass a, MyClass b) { return !(a == b); } } class Program { static void Main(string[] args) { IMyClass m1 = new MyClass(); IMyClass m2 = new MyClass(); MyClass m3 = new MyClass(); MyClass m4 = new MyClass(); Console.WriteLine(m1 == m2); // does not go into custom == function. why not? Console.WriteLine(m3 == m4); // DOES go into custom == function } }

  • Cannot move ckeditor 4 selection to beginning

    - by Gary Hillerson
    I've been exploring numerous solutions in stackoverflow and elsewhere to try to get ckeditor 4 to scroll to the top after I've programmatically added a number of pages to it, using CKEditor's InsertHtml function. After adding my html, which looks fine, I want to position the cursor at the beginning. Here's one of a variety of things I've tried without success: function MoveCaretToStart(myEditor) { var range = new CKEDITOR.dom.range( editor.document ); range.selectNodeContents(editor.document.getBody()); range.moveToElementEditStart(range.root); // also tried range.collapse(true); range.select(); } ... MoveCaretToStart(CKEDITOR.instances['myEditor']); // which already has contents in it This doesn't throw any errors, but also doesn't move the cursor position (it remains at the end of the doc). I thought this one would be easy, but it sure hasn't been. Any help appreciated.

  • Named keywords in decorators?

    - by wheaties
    I've been playing around in depth with attempting to write my own version of a memoizing decorator before I go looking at other people's code. It's more of an exercise in fun, honestly. However, in the course of playing around I've found I can't do something I want with decorators. def addValue( func, val ): def add( x ): return func( x ) + val return add @addValue( val=4 ) def computeSomething( x ): #function gets defined If I want to do that I have to do this: def addTwo( func ): return addValue( func, 2 ) @addTwo def computeSomething( x ): #function gets defined Why can't I use keyword arguments with decorators in this manner? What am I doing wrong and can you show me how I should be doing it?

  • Illegal offset type

    - by BFTrick
    Hello, I am having trouble uploading a file through php. I check the file type at the beginning of the process and I get an error. This is the error I am getting: Warning: Illegal offset type in /balblabla/DBfunctions.inc.php on line 183 This is the printed out $_FILES var Array ( [Picture] = Array ( [name] = JPG.jpg [type] = image/jpeg [tmp_name] = /tmp/phpHlrNY8 [error] = 0 [size] = 192221 ) ) Here is the segment of code I am using that is giving me issues: function checkFile($file, $type) { if( in_array($_FILES[$file]['type'], $type) ){ // <--- LINE 183 return true; }//if return false; } // end checkFile() This is the line of code that calls the function if( checkFile( $_FILES['Picture'], array("image/jpeg") ) == true ){ //do stuff }// end if I have used this piece of code on dozens of websites on my own server so i am guessing that this is some different configuration option. How can i modify my code so that it works on this different server?

  • jquery Hotkeys - enabling a combination while INSIDE a input/textarea

    - by TheExit
    Hello, I'm using the jQuery hotkeys plugin here: https://github.com/tzuryby/jquery.hotkeys The plugin prevents hot keys from firing when you are inside an input field. In my case, I want a hotkey to fire when inside an input box, not all but one in particular: $(function() { $(document).bind('keydown', 'Shift+return',function (evt) { alert('got it') }); }); Any ideas on how jQuery Hotkeys can be patched to allow for shift+return to be fired when inside an input/textarea field? but not fired for all the other hotkey bindings? Thanks

  • jquery attribute indexOf

    - by Victor
    When I am getting at an attribute onclick of custom(Reporting Services) checkbox it gives me correct result. However when I am trying to use indexOf on that result it says "Object doesn't support this property or method", i.e. this is fine, gives me a long string $('input[id*=CustomCheckBox]').click(function() { alert( $(this).attr("onclick") ); }); But this gives an error(object doesn't support this property or method): $('input[id*=CustomCheckBox]').click(function() { if ($(this).attr("onclick").indexOf("SomeString") > -1 ) { //do some processing here } } What would I need to modify so that indexOf is working properly?

  • hook_form for multiple content types defined by the same module

    - by pao13gate
    A new module 'foo' implements foo_node_info() where one or more new content types can be defined. If foo_node_info() defines two content types, namely a content type 'footypea' and a content type 'footypeb', how does one go about implementing hook_form() (what should the name of the "hook" be?) to configure each node's editing form? In the drupal example, the name of the new content type is the same as the module name. What happens in the above described example where two new content types are defined by the module? Should the implemented hook_form() function be of the form: footypea_form() and footypeb_form() ? (this doesn't seem to work) Or should you implement a single foo_form() function and within this create and return an array $form with elements $form['footypea'] and $form['footypeb'] that are in turn arrays of the individual form field definitions?

  • Print new line in the source-code with jQuery.

    - by Kucebe
    I have a simple function in jQuery that creates new elements in the DOM. the problem is in the html source code, it append every element in the same line, and it's very bad to read. function _loadNewElements(elements){ for(var i=0; i<elements.length; i++){ var fixedElement = $('<img />') var position = elements[i].position; var cssMap = { 'position': 'fixed', 'top': position.top + "px", 'left': position.left + "px" }; fixedElement.css(cssMap); fixedElement.addClass("fixedTag"); fixedElement.attr('alt', elements[i].text); fixedElement.attr('src', "elements/" + elements[i].id + ".png"); fixedElement.appendTo($('#board')); //i'd like to print something here like ("\n"); } } I tried document.write("\n") but in this context it doesn't work. Any solution?

  • Ubuntu inside VirtualBox is slow

    - by Kapsh
    I am running an Ubuntu instance on VirtualBox inside XP. Here are the details: Host: Windows XP Pro Guest: Ubuntu 8.10 Total RAM: 3GB RAM For VM: 1GB Total Video Memory: 128MB Video Memory for VM: 40MB Hard Drive: 200GB Hard Drive for VM: 30GB Processor: 2.80GHz Core Duo The problem is that whenever I am inside the virtual machine, things seem so much slower in general. For example Firefox, Eclipse take longer to load, dragging windows show a lag etc. I have tried running Ubuntu before (not inside a VM) and it seemed fantastically fast. So I am disappointed to have to deal with this situation. But I need access to the XP partition without having to reboot and hence the attempt. I am surprised with the perceived slowness since the whole world seems to be doing virtualization and I cannot imagine everyone works on slow systems knowingly. My question is - is there something I should be doing to boost performance? Am I doing something wrong? This is my home machine and I am not sure if this is the right forum to ask. Thanks.

  • Whats the most common waste of computing power in javascipt

    - by qwertymk
    We've all seen people who do this jQuery('a').each(function(){ jQuery(this)[0].innerHTML += ' proccessed'; }); function letsPoluteNS() { polute = ''; for (morePolution = 0; morePolution < arguments.length; morePolution++) polute.join(arguments[morePolution]); return polute; } and so on. I was wondering what people have seen the most common javascript/jQuery technique that is slowing down the page and/or wasting time for the javascript engine. PS I know that this question may not seem to fit into whats an accepted question, yet I'm asking for what the most common accepted waste is

  • Is it possible to do live events in YUI, similar to jQuery's live events?

    - by eculver
    It doesn't currently seem as though there is a way to do live events in YUI similar to jQuery: http://api.jquery.com/live/ It sure would be nice if something like: function handleClick(e) { // click! } YUI().use('node-base', function(Y) { Y.on("click", handleClick, ".foo"); }); caused handleClick to be fired when a node with the "foo" class was clicked on after being dynamically added to the DOM and sometime after the Y.on was evaluated. I feel like live events are one of jQuery's killer features that YUI lacks.

  • Pass property to access using .NET

    - by BitFiddler
    I'm fairly sure this is possible, but what I want to do is have a generic method where I can pass in an object along with a Expression that will tell the method which Property to use in it's logic. Can anyone get me started on the syntax for something like this? Essentially what I would like to code is something like: Dim firstNameMapper as IColumnMapper = new ColumnMapper(of Author)(Function(x) x.FirstName) Dim someAuthorObject as new Author() fistNameMapper.Map("Richard", someAuthorObject) Now the mapper object would know to set the FirstName property to "Richard". Now using a Function here won't work, I know this... I'm just trying to give an idea what I'm trying to work towards. Thanks for any help!

  • How do I remove a <tr> with jQuery?

    - by George Edison
    Okay, I am really stuck here. I have a table of tr's that have id's: #tr_xx where xx is a number. item is a number. The if(... part makes sure that what follows is only executed once at the end of all the animations. $('#tr_' + item + '>td').fadeOut('slow', function() { if($('#tr_' + item + '>td:animated').length === 0) { $(this).parent().remove(); // This function recolors the rows // -not really related to this Recolor(); } }); The problem is that the tr does not get deleted. It just gets hidden. How can I delete the <tr> and not just hide it?

  • Should I make my MutexLock volatile?

    - by sje397
    I have some code in a function that goes something like this: void foo() { { // scope the locker MutexLocker locker(&mutex); // do some stuff.. } bar(); } The function call bar() also locks the mutex. I am having an issue whereby the program crashes (for someone else, who has not as yet provided a stack trace or more details) unless the mutex lock inside bar is disabled. Is it possible that some optimization is messing around with the way I have scoped the locker instance, and if so, would making it volatile fix it? Is that a bad idea? Thanks.

  • Javascript - remove part of cookie with a split('|') like array

    - by MgS
    I'm abit stuck. I'm using jQuery. I have a cookie which has the value such as : 1,something|2,somethingg|1,something We are treating it as [0] as id and [1] as name. I need to remove ONE where the id == '1' for example, this will leave the cookie like this: 1,something|2,somethingg How do I go about this, it will probally be in a loop, but not sure how to remove one of them. I have this so far: function removeItem(id){ var cookieName = 'myCookie'; var cookie = $.cookie(cookieName); if(cookie){ var cookie = cookie.split('|'); $(cookie).each(function(index){ var thisCookieData = this.split(','); if(thisCookieData[0] == id ){ } }); }

  • are runtime linking library globals shared among plugins loaded with dlopen?

    - by conejoroy
    I've a C++ program that links at runtime with, lets say, mylib.so. then, the same program uses dlopen()/dlsym() to load a function from myplugin.so, dynamic library that in turn has dependencies to mylib.so. My question is: will the program AND the function in the plugin access the same globals defined in mydlib.so in the same memory area reserved for the program, or each will be assigned different, unrelated copies in its own memory space? if the latter is the default behaviour, is it possible to change that? Thanks in advance =)!

  • Appending html code to a section inside a dialog window isn't working in IE6

    - by user338413
    I'm using jQuery's validation on a form. When the form is validated, I'm using a submitHandler to fill a dialog with data from the form then I open the dialog to display it. Works great except for in IE6. Nothing displays. I've tried initializing the dialog before and after running the validation code but neither makes a difference. Here's the validation code: $("#acct").validate({ ... submitHandler: function() { fillVerificationDialog(); $("#verification_dialog").dialog('open'); return false; } }); Here's the fillVerificationDialog: function fillVerificationDialog() { $("#dialog-data").empty(); $("<span class='label'>").text("First Name: ").appendTo("#dialog-data"); $("<span class='value'>").text($("#firstname").val()).appendTo("#dialog-data"); $("<br/>").appendTo("#dialog-data"); ... }

  • how to get dynamically created elements width and apply style to that?

    - by 3gwebtrain
    Hi, I am creating an li element dynamically like this: $(data).find('slide').each(function(numSlide){ var slideLink = $(this).attr('link'); var slideimage = $(this).children('slideimage').text(); var slidedesc = $(this).children('slidedesc').text(); $('.slider ul').append('<li><a href="'+slideLink+'"><img src="'+root+"images/top-slider-image/"+slideimage+'" alt="welcome to Burger Davis Blog" /></a><div class="note">'+slidedesc+'</div></li>'); }) But I'd like to calculate the width of the li, and I need to apply some style to it -- how can I do that? If I add styles via the css method, it does not work for dynamically created elements... Please help me to get dynamic elements' width and how to apply styles into that? I know we can use the live function, but I can't get even by that..

  • Sorting Multidimensional Array with Javascript: Integers

    - by tkm256
    I have a 2D array called "results." Each "row" array in results contains both string and integer values. I'm using this script to sort the array by any "column" on an onclick event: function sort_array(results, column, direction) { var sorted_results = results.sort(value); function value(a,b) { a = a[column]; b = b[column]; return a == b ? 0 : (a < b ? -1*direction : 1*direction) } } This works fine for the columns with strings. But it treats the columns of integers like strings instead of numbers. For example, the values 15, 1000, 200, 97 would be sorted 1000, 15, 200, 97 if "ascending" or 97, 200, 15, 1000 "descending." I've double-checked the typeof the integer values, and the script knows they're numbers. How can I get it to treat them as such?
