• Drupal 6: Taxonomy splot up in managed fields?

  So you have two taxonomies, namely: "Business Type" and "Location" This is assigned to a node called BUSINESS. In effect, when the user creates a BUSINESS node, her has to choose for example, location "New York" and type "Information Services". My problem is when: a) Capturing the taxonomy, and b) Displaying the taxonomy I want the two terms to be separated from each other. I.e. I want to be able to move the two terms individual positions in the MANAGE FIELDS view, so that they can be grouped or placed seperately. Currently, Drupal only allows one entry, called "TAXONOMY" which is effectively the two terms next to each other. This is what I have: This is what I want: Bare in mind, I need to be able to use this with Hierarchical Select, which means Content Taxonomy is not an option.

  I've got the following problem: I have rhtml (html minced together with ruby inside <% % and <%= % tags) stored in a database which I want to render. The information is acquired through a query. I need to be able to evaluate the information I get from the database as though as it was normal content inside the .erb-file. What I currently have: <% @mymods.each do |mod| %> <%= render_text(mod["html"])%> <% end %> Where mod["html"] is the variable containing the rhtml-code and @mymods an array of objects from the query. • How can I split a PHP form into two sections, before submission to a database?

  Hi guys, I have set up a PHP form for a competition, for users to enter and all information to be stored in a database. I used the following NetTut+ tutorial to do so: http://tr.im/SwAd. I've got the form submitting to the database as required, but with so many additional questions being asked, I would like to split the form into two separate sections. Obviously the first page would say continue to the next step before the second step allowing for the form to be submitted to the database. The content that the user sees should be split, but should all be a part of the same form. Step 1 Step 2 before submission. Would anyone know of or recommend any methods to do this?   Am rather new to this world of htaccess redirects.Am trying to force all redirects in my Zend MVC to my https but I get a requested URL not found error on requests that dont go though the index controller Example https://www.example.com/auth/register gives a requested URL /auth/register not found error. However if I remove the https redirect rule it works fine over http. If I adjust the URL to https://www.example.com/index.php/auth/register it works fine. The URL https://www.example.com/index/faq works just fine since it goes through the index controller.   How do you determine whether the content for the detail page being displayed is filled by a specific subreport? For example, consider two subreports on the same master report, using different detail bands: Detail 1 Detail 2 The header on the master report should show certain fields on pages where the subreport in the Detail 2 band is printed. A Return Value from the subreport in the Detail 2 band only seems to be set after the report has finished, even though the Reset type for the variable (in both the master and the subreport) is set to Page. (Setting it to Report also does not help.)

  I am using an iframe (I hate them by the way!) to call in a 3rd party checkout page into my parent page. The check out page doesn't allow me to pass any variables into it other than $total_amount. So, if an individual purchases 2 or more items they have no record of the items they purchase just the total amount. I have echoed the list of items purchased with php above the iframe for their reference. The final checkout step in the iframe allows you to print the receipt. However, it only prints the iframe content. Can you tell a print button within an iframe to print the parent page as well?

  I have an HTML report, with each print page contained by a <div class="page">. The page class is defined as width: 180mm; height: 250mm; page-break-after: always; background-position: centre top; background-image: url(Images/MainBanner.png); background-repeat: no-repeat; padding-top: 30mm; After making a few changes to my report content, when I call abcPDF to convert the report to PDF, suddenly I'm getting a blank page inserted after every real report page. I don't want to roll back the changes I've just made to remove this problem, so I'm hoping someone may know why the extra pages are being inserted.

  I have a requirement to allow users in a content management system to create their own image maps through a gui interface, which I have accomplished. But instead of saving the image map to the page code, I want to save the image map code to a database (sql), which I've also accomplished. When I started down this road in my head I was thinking the whole time that I'd just add the "usemap" attribute at runtime shown below where promo1.ImageMap holds the entire map code: if(promo1.HasImageMap) imgPromotion1.Attributes.Add("usemap", promo1.ImageMap); I guess I didn't think it though well enough, because it seems that "usemap" only expects the name of the existing map to use from the page code, and not the map code as a string. Does anyone have any clever ideas on how to apply the map from the database to the image at run time?

  I have a read a number of excellent questions and answers today about dealing with user input. I am now using htmlspecialchars() to display user data in the create/edit forms (but accepting the raw input via prepared PDO statements into my database). The main question I know have is, what do you do when you are allowing the user to submit HTML which will then be displayed to the public. Obviously htmlspecialchars() is no longer suitable as it just encodes the tags and renders the content useless for purpose. My application is currently accepting HTML from an admin for product descriptions. This would allow a malicious admin to inject potentially unsafe data into public facing pages. How do people cope with this?

I am trying to design a tagging system with a model like this: Tag: content = CharField creator = ForeignKey used = IntergerField It is a many-to-many relationship between tags and what's been tagged. Everytime I insert a record into the assotication table, Tag.used is incremented by one, and decremented by one in case of deletion. Tag.used is maintained because I want to speed up answering the question 'How many times this tag is used?'. However, this seems to slow insertion down obviously. Please tell me how to improve this design. Thanks in advance.

What is the correct way to deselect all the tabs?

  Once upon a time in a country far far away... Okay, actually it's not that bad but it has been a while since the last meeting of the Linux User Group of Mauritius (LUGM). There have been plans in the past but it never really happened. Finally, Selven took the opportunity and organised a new meetup with low administrative overhead, proper scheduling on alternative dates and a small attendee's survey on the preferred option. All the pre-work was nicely executed. First, I wasn't sure whether it would be possible to attend. Luckily I got some additional information, like children should come, too, and I was sold to this community gathering. According to other long-term members of the LUGM it was the first time 'ever' that a gathering was organised outside of Quatre Bornes, and I have to admit it was great! LUGM - user group meeting on the 15.06.2013 in L'Escalier Quick overview of Linux & the LUGM With a little bit of delay the LUGM meeting officially started with a quick overview and introduction to Linux presented by Avinash. During the session he told the audience that there had been quite some activity over the island some years ago but unfortunately it had been quiet during recent times. Of course, we also spoke about the acknowledged world dominance of Linux - thanks to Android - and the interesting possibilities for countries like Mauritius. It is known that a couple of public institutions have there back-end infrastructure running on Red Hat Linux systems but the presence on the desktop is still very low. Users are simply hanging on to Windows XP and older versions of Microsoft Office. Following the introduction of the LUGM Ajay joined into the session and it quickly changed into a panel discussion with lots of interesting questions and answers, sharing of first-hand experience either on the job or in private use of Linux, and a couple of ideas about how the LUGM could promote Linux a bit more in Mauritius. It was great to get an insight into other attendee's opinion and activities. Especially taking into consideration that I'm already using Linux since around 1996/97. Frankly speaking, I bought a SuSE 4.x distribution back in those days because I couldn't achieve certain tasks on Windows NT 4.0 without spending a fortune. OpenELEC Mediacenter Next, Selven gave us decent introduction on OpenELEC: Open Embedded Linux Entertainment Center (OpenELEC) is a small Linux distribution built from scratch as a platform to turn your computer into an XBMC media center. OpenELEC is designed to make your system boot fast, and the install is so easy that anyone can turn a blank PC into a media machine in less than 15 minutes. I didn't know about it until this presentation. In the past, I was mainly attached to Video Disk Recorder (VDR) as it allows the use of satellite receiver cards very easily. Hm, somehow I'm still missing my precious HTPC that I had to leave back in Germany years ago. It was great piece of hardware and software; self-built PC in a standard HiFi-sized (43cm) black desktop casing with 2 full-featured Hauppauge DVB-s cards, an old-fashioned Voodoo graphics card, WiFi card, Pioneer slot-in DVD drive, and fully remote controlled via infra-red thanks to Debian, VDR and LIRC. With EP Guide, scheduled recordings and general multimedia centre it offered all the necessary comfort in the living room, besides a Nintendo game console; actually a GameCube at that time... But I have to admit that putting OpenELEC on a Raspberry Pi would be a cool DIY project in the near future. LUGM - our next generation of linux users (15.06.2013) Project Evil Genius (PEG) Don't be scared of the paragraph header. Ish gave us a cool explanation why he named it PEG - Project Evil Genius; it's because of the time of the day when he was scripting down his ideas to be able to build, package and provide software applications to various Linux distributions. The main influence came from openSuSE but the platform didn't cater for his needs and ideas, so he started to work out something on his own. During his passionate session he also talked about the amazing experience he had due to other Linux users from all over the world. During the next couple of days Ish promised to put his script to GitHub... Looking forward to that. Check out Ish's personal blog over at hacklog.in. Highly recommended to read. Why India? Simply because the registration fees per year for an Indian domain are approximately 20 times less than for a Mauritian domain (.mu). Exploring the beach of L'Escalier af the meeting 'After-party' at the beach of L'Escalier Puh, after such interesting sessions, ideas around Linux and good conversation during the breaks and over lunch it was time for a little break-out. Selven suggested that we all should head down to the beach of L'Escalier and get some impressions of nature down here in the south of the island. Talking about 'beach' ;-) - absolutely not comparable to the white-sanded ones here in Flic en Flac... There are no lagoons down at the south coast of Mauriitus, and watching the breaking waves is a different experience and joy after all. Unfortunately, I was a little bit worried about the thoughtless littering at such a remote location. You have to drive on natural paths through the sugar cane fields and I was really shocked by the amount of rubbish lying around almost everywhere. Sad, really sad and it concurs with Yasir's recent article on the same topic. Resumé & outlook It was a great event. I met with new people, had some good conversations, and even my children enjoyed themselves the whole day. The location was well-chosen, enough space for each and everyone, parking spaces and even a playground for the children. Also, a big "Thank You" to Selven and his helpers for the organisation and preparation of lunch. I'm kind of sure that this was an exceptional meeting of LUGM and I'm really looking forward to the next gathering of Linux geeks. Hopefully, soon. All images are courtesy of Avinash Meetoo. • Adding ID's to google map markers

  I have a script that loops and adds markers one at a time. • Drupal - how to register a MENU_CALLBACK that is accessable to all users(even anonymous ones)?

  I'm trying to learn Drupal 6. I want to register the path '/topic' to a MENU_CALLBACK using hook_menu(). Here's what I have: function mymodule_menu() { $items = array() $items['foo'] = array( 'page callback' => 'show_page_foo', 'access callback' => 'user_access', 'access arguements' => array('access foo content'), 'type' => MENU_CALLBACK ); } function show_page_foo() { //show foo page } This works fine for a logged in user. But when I visit the path as an anonymous user it shows 'Access Denied' message. What must be the 'access callback' and 'access arguments' values to have this accessible to all visitors? I remember I made this work by simply saying 'access' => TRUE in Drupal 5. No longer works in Drupal 6.

• Initialize window code Mac OS X

  I'm currently reading "the red book" for learning OpenGL properly, and in one of the first examples, the author writes a line that says "InitializeAWindowPlease();" as a place holder for the code that will make a window to draw the OpenGL content in. Since I'm using Xcode for my programing, I know that I "get" a window to work with automatically (and that I have to make my own OpenGL view in interfacebuilder). How can I make this with pure code? I'm trying to learn programming, and I'm not to happy about taking "shortcuts" all the time. How can I make a window to draw my openGL stuff in? With Objective-C and C code I would love to see it. My goal is that I can make it without opening interface builder at all:)

• How to reference a specific object in an array of objects using jTemplates

  I am using the excellent jTemplates plugin to generate content. Given a data object like this... var data = { name: 'datatable', table: [ {id: 1, name: 'Anne'}, {id: 2, name: 'Amelie'}, {id: 3, name: 'Polly'}, {id: 4, name: 'Alice'}, {id: 5, name: 'Martha'} ] }; ..I'm wondering if it is possible to directly specify an object in an array of objects using $T. (I'm hoping there is something like $T.table:3 available) Currently the only way I can think of to access a specific object in an array is to do something like this... {#foreach $T.table as record} {#if $T.record$iteration == 3} This is record 3! Name: {$T.record.name} {#/if} {#/for} However that seems clumsy... Any suggestions? Thanks
