• Plymouth did not install properly

  I was installing the plymouth manager in hopes of making a custom loading screen. While the terminal was working, my computer unexpectedly powered off. I can open up the manager and it appears to do what it is supposed to (minus the fact that I can't make my own theme) and the screen only shows on powering down. Anyway, all of the advice I have seen so far have resulted in errors and nothing getting fixed. I do not have permissions to simply select the folder and delete it for some reason and I have not been able to find out how to grant myself those permissions. I guess my question then is how do I get rid of the plymouth manager so I can reinstall it properly? I want colored bodies having all the property like gravity, restitution etc. In brief, I want to make colored ball and surface.And i don't want to attach sprite on bodies. • I'm building a theme for tumblr and the {HasPages} doesn't seem to work properly.

  I've put the HTML draft of the theme so far, with minor CSS edits. Currently I have all the block posts and everything else that's essential to a tumblr theme but I can't seem to get the {HasPages} block to work properly. I've tested it on a different tumblr, also. There are pages created and I already have provided some basic CSS for it just in case. But there isn't anything showing up. Has anyone has this problem and if so, is there a solution I'm missing? The code to display the pages is included. {block:HasPages} <ul> <li><a href="/">Home</a></li> {block:Pages}<li><a href="{URL}">{Label}</a></li>{/block:Pages} </ul> {/block:HasPages} Also, is this a valid web masters' question. • Does Google include the time to load images, for a single page, as part of the page speed?

  we all know that Google's affects your page rank with the load time of a page. How? That's part of the secret sauce. But we know that page speed is a serious factor. So - what is considered the speed of a page? Is it just the first (and main) html file which the GET receives? Or does it also include loading of images as part of that speed. so for example... GET /index.htm <- takes 0.45 seconds to retrieve (including DNS lookup before). robot parses page.. see's there's a single main image.... GET /img/main.png <- takes 5 seconds to download. is the page speed for that resource, 0.45 seconds OR 5.45 seconds? I understand Javascript is not fired .. but are any of these external resources all downloaded and part of the page speed?

• Maintaining packages with code - Adding a property expression programmatically

  Every now and then I've come across scenarios where I need to update a lot of packages all in the same way. The usual scenario revolves around a group of packages all having been built off the same package template, and something needs to updated to keep up with new requirements, a new logging standard for example.You'd probably start by updating your template package, but then you need to address all your existing packages. Often this can run into the hundreds of packages and clearly that's not a job anyone wants to do by hand. I normally solve the problem by writing a simple console application that looks for files and patches any package it finds, and it is an example of this I'd thought I'd tidy up a bit and publish here. This sample will look at the package and find any top level Execute SQL Tasks, and change the SQL Statement property to use an expression. It is very simplistic working on top level tasks only, so nothing inside a Sequence Container or Loop will be checked but obviously the code could be extended for this if required. • Weird .ASP pages from my non-ASP site generating 404s

  In Google Webmaster Tools, I have a huge list of "Not Found" crawl errors (404) with URLs that look like this: http://www.exclusivevillas.co.za/villa_view.asp?vSeq=82&activitySeq=3&page=3, seemingly originating from URLs very similar to that (eg http://www.exclusivevillas.co.za/villa_view.asp?vSeq=82&activitySeq=3&page=4. Thing is, the site is WordPress. Has been for almost a year now. Was plain html before that. I don't know where these ASP requests are coming from. And furthermore, the dates these supposed ASP pages requested these other ASP pages, resulting in 404s, are very recent. What's going on?

• Slow in the app, fast in SSMS

  Users complain about a timeout but when you run the exact same query in SSMS it runs in a flash. Sounds familiar? I've been baffled by this before. I worked out that I was getting a different query plan in SSMS because of different SET OPTIONS but, having dealt with that, I was then stuck with parameter sniffing as the cause of the timeout. I've read about that but still didn't really understand how to fix it. • Laptop battery fails to change unless power level very low, and then dicharges quickly

  I've had my laptop for about 5-6 weeks. Its a DELL Alienware M15x and I have never replaced the battery,such as http://www.pcbatteria.com/dell-alienware-m15x-series.html. The past 3 weeks or so the battery can only charge when the computer is off or in a low power state. If its on and plugged in it will still lose its charge unless its already at 100%. On a full charge without being plugged in it only holds its charge for about 1 hour on "power saver". This makes it extremely hard to use it as a portable device so i'm trying to find a way to troubleshoot the problem without having to buy a new battery or laptop. Unfortunately I need it for the next few months in some of my classes so its kind of urgent. Thanks for your help!

  I want to write a shader/filer probably in adobe Pixel Bender that will do the best job possible in emulating the fill of an oldskul monochromatic arcade CRT screen. It will add scanlines It will blur the color channels to create that color bleeding effect It will distort the shape of the image from a perfect rectangle into a rounder shape. The question is, could you please provide any other attributes that are beneficial to emulating an arcade CRT feel and links and resources on coding these effects. Thanks

• Testing on Device Other Than the Known Brand Question (Local and Imported Phone Question)

  I have a question. When testing a device by using Eclipse, it's easy to install and add device software with these specific brands commonly used in game testing like Samsung, Google, T-Mobile, and HTC; according to the Android Developers website. What if I'm using other brands that runs on Android to test the program via Eclipse (i.e. MyPhone, Starmobile), what should I look for to download in order to enable testing phones that those brands are using other than the brands that are known and commonly used: model number or simply brand?
