• WPF custom BalloonTips problem with multithreading

  Hi, I have read other related question but i cant really get them to relate to this so I thought it were best to ask, Im pretty new to WPF and so on so please bear with me. I am using this http://www.codeproject.com/KB/WPF/wpf_notifyicon.aspx api to work with custom WPF Windows (in particular FancyBalloon). However, i'm coming across the following problem, I seem unable to start off BalloonTips in a separate thread ( i need this because i'm parsing emails and hence if there are 3 emails for instance, it displays the first email (that works fine), but when it comes to the second email it crashes with a TargetInvocationException , {"Specified element is already the logical child of another element. Disconnect it first."}. Thing is, im supposedly working with the same instance and i have attempted calling it to close it before, disposing it etc but to no avail. (then again if i dispose it, i cant create another instance as apparently WPF UI components must be called from a static thread so throughout the looping of emails + displaying balloon, i am trying to use the same BalloonTip. Any suggestions please? I am really at a loss here and i've been on it for quite a while now :/ I was wondering if there was anyone

• CSS Attribute selector - Match attribute values that begin with

  I am trying to identify all the <UL> that contain a menu list by defining the ID like this: <ul id="menutop"> <li><a href="#">item1</a></li> <li><a href="#">item2</a></li> <li><a href="#">item3</a></li> </ul> <ul id="menumain"> <li><a href="#">item1</a></li> <li><a href="#">item2</a></li> <li><a href="#">item3</a></li> </ul> As per what I understand, I could use: ul[id|='menu']>li>a {color:#f00;} (<a> direct child of a <li> direct child of an <ul> that has its id starting with menu) But it doesn't work. Searching a bit brought me this [question][1] which suggests that ID is an attribute and not a property so I don't get why it isn't working. What am I doing wrong? • Creating Array of settings names and values using ADO.NET Entities

  I'm using an ADO.NET Entities (.edmx) data-model along with MVC2 to build an application. I have a DB table where I want to store settings for method that run elsewhere. MVC2 allows me to create a view, editor, etc. to update this table which is great, but now when I want to do simple assignments based on column titles I'm a bit confused. For example, I would like to easily build an array that I could offset into the record's value based on it's "Title" Column: var entities = new ManagerEntities(); Setting[] settings = entities.settings.ToArray(); This returns something like: Settings[0].[SettingTitle][SettingValue] However, I would like to more easily index into the value than having to loop through all the returned settings, when they're already index. string URL_ID_NEED = [NeededUrl][http://www.url.com] Am I missing something relatively simple? • Detect Autocomplete

  Hello, I have some forms that have inlined labels. I have some javascript (jQuery) that detects when focus has changed or when a user is entering text that changes the class so that the inlined label disappears and isn't blocking the user's view of their entered text. The problem I'm having occurs when the browser autocompletes the form. None of the conditions below are triggered so I can't clear out the inlined label. How can I detect the fact that text has been entered via autocomplete so that I can clear the labels? • IE7 div boxes with clear: right and float: left - float to top

  Hey, lately i've been slamming my head against my desk to solve this Problem. Didn't work out. I know it can be solved by editing the contents with some clearing elements. Sadly there is some javascript sorting beeing used and the Sourcode is being generated by CMS Components so that would be my last shot. I'm having a few boxes beeing floated alwayes 2 in a row. The boxes have a diffrent height but equal width and are all placed in a container with static width. The link shows the source i need to reproduce the Problem. My Boxes are beeing floated left. I tried to fix this with clear: left on odd and clear: right on even elements. But that only works in ff/ie8/chrome Browsers, not ie7. Example: http://www.i3rutus.de/ie7divfloatexample/ Anyone knows a possibility to fix this Problem by just editing the CSS not the actual XHTML? Problem appears in IE7. IE8, Chrome and FF work fine. • How to print data form C#

  I've searched Stackoverflow and google and found many ways how I can print stuff in C#. The best way for me would be to populate blank white windows form with some label, textbox and picturebox elements and print it as a windows form. This way is very poor because it prints in 72 DPI, and is not flexible for multiple pages print. Next way that I found that would be good is using iTextSharp, but there is a problem that iTextSharp only generates PDF-s, and you have to open it in PDF viewer and print from there. I love this way of thinking where I create a paragraph, and then fill it with text and graphic, so I found this thread http://www.devarticles.com/c/a/C-Sharp/Printing-Using-C-sharp/ where it discusses how to create your own printing engine in C#, something like iTextSharp, but very lightweight... Now that I've said that, I want to know is there any ready to use printing engine that would be like iTextSharp, made for printing, not for PDF generation? What is the best way to print something, without using reporting services like CrystalReports. I think Crystal Reports wouldn't work for my case cause I don't want to print generic reports, but some text and graphics that I need to dynamicaly generate every time I need to print.

• CSS div/overflow Question: Why does the first HTML file work but not the second?

  Notice how the first HTML/CSS works when you re-size the browser horizontally. It will shrink no further than around 800 pixels, but it will expand as far as you drag the right edge of the browser. It will also correctly overflow the table at the top and scroll it horizontally. The thing I don't like about the first code snippet is where the scrollbar is. I want it to show up within the borders of the fieldset, so even if I narrow the browser down to 800 pixels wide, I can see both the left and right sides of the fieldset's border. The second code snippet is exactly the same as the first except I add another div tag to the mix, inside of the field set and around the grid. Notice how the top fieldset's width won't correctly shrink when you make the viewport of your browser narrower. Any ideas on why it doesn't work, what I can do to get it to work like the first code snippet? I don't think I'm describing this clearly, but if you run the two side by side, and expand and contract the horizontal edge of your browser windows, you'll see the differences between the two. I'm pretty new to CSS and HTML layout, so my understanding of why CSS handles sizing the way it does in some situations is still really confusing to me.   Good day, I've been trying to build a perfect footer who sticks at the bottom of the browser window after it's content. And I got help here @ Stack Overflow previously. • XML Catalog file failing to resolve

  I'm using an OASIS v 1.1 compatible resolver (Norm Walsh's XMLResolver in conjunction with the catalog below. However, I'm pretty sure I've made some sort of obvious error here (this is the first time I've needed to use v 1.1 features) since attempting to resolve OxChapML.dtd fails. • Custom HTTPHandler causing caching or session issues?

  So i have a custom CMS running under .Net 3.5 written entirely in c#. The engine is optimized to render for mobile devices, but also server to normal web browsers. It also supports cookieless sessions. Great... I've chosen not to cache anything (including browser data) in order to control the rendering completely from data. This has been all good until lately. The engine implements a basic login function that simply logs the user state within a session object. The behavior is rather strange. User will click through the site no problem. Then login. The login will either go through successfully or just redisplay the login screen, suggesting a cached page being returned or redisplayed... If the login is successful the concurrent page hits will switch arbitrarily between logged in and logged out state... Also suggesting either the session state is not accessible or a cached page being returned. I have debugged the hell out of the thing.... including using fiddler and the like. When debugging the behavior disappears. Huh?   I am using sIfr (3.436) for my H1 and H2 tags. In IE8 the text flickers and jumps around alot. • Where exactly should i add crossdomain.xml file?

  Hi everyone... i am trying to create a internet radio.... I use icecast2 for streaming..... edcast plugin with winamp to send the music to icecast... and the xspf web music player (http://musicplayer.sourceforge.net/) to connect the user to the icecast server and play the music.... The setup works great and i can broadcast and receive on the local network i use to test the radio.. using xampp... Now the icecast broadcasts online from a windows server with the ip address say xx.xx.xxx.xxx The webpage in which the flash player is embedded is uploaded to www.xyz.com/images/radio This domain has the same ip address from where the icecast server runs. Now when i run the webpage to connect to the radio with the flash player, i get the error in firebug as "xx.xx.xxx.xxx:8000/crossdomain.xml 404 NOT FOUND" But i have created a crossdomain.xml file in the root of the xx.xx.xxx.xxx server... Still it doesn't recognize the file... Can anyone tell me where exactly i should create the file for my setting...??? Thanks a lot in advance.....

  I am using ant for my project and I have been trying to generate JUnit report using ant target. The problem I run in to is that at the end of the execution my TESTS-TestSuites.xml is empty. But all the other individual test xml files have data. And due to this my html reports are empty, in the sense results shows "0". • Multilingual spellcheck on WPF richtextbox

  I need to turn spellcheck on for a richtextbox, and set the language to one the user has picked from a drop down. For now, I'm just testing it by building the richtextbox in xaml and providing a language to the xaml language attribute. I've read two different resources and one says I need to set the language attribute, and the other says I need to set the xml:lang attribute. Neither seems to work. I've tried setting either one to "es" for Spanish, and I've also tried setting both to "es". I've also tried french by setting them to "fr-FR", without success. The only thing that happens is that english words aren't marked, but the other language words are marked as misspelled. I also read that I need to change the keyboard language. This would be a problem for my application as the language within the application needs to be switched on the fly, so having the end user go to their keyboard settings just so spellcheck will work is a problem. However, I've changed my keyboard settings, and spell check still does not work properly. This time it doesn't mark anything as misspelled, even misspelled english words. What am I missing?
