    I originally started this question in another thread, but that thread was sorta, kinda answered, and now I primarily want to know how to specify another form action... I tried using the code below, but the form action, when output, remains unchanged, although looking at the print_r($form), it's correctly changed...   • Problem with DOMPDF and Kohana 3

    I have used DOMPDF many times before successfully, however outside of the Kohana Framework. I created a module for DOMPDF and called it simply pdf. I have even tried this basic HTML <html> <head> <title>PDF</title> </head> <body> please work </body> </html> Is this a known problem? I have not touched anything in dompdf_config.inc.php except uncomment out the error reporting levels so they now read error_reporting(E_STRICT | E_ALL); PHP is not reporting any errors.   • What makes merging in DVCS easy?

    I read at Joel on Software: With distributed version control, the distributed part is actually not the most interesting part. The interesting part is that these systems think in terms of changes, not in terms of versions. and at HgInit: When we have to merge, Subversion tries to look at both revisions—my modified code, and your modified code—and it tries to guess how to smash them together in one big unholy mess. It usually fails, producing pages and pages of “merge conflicts” that aren’t really conflicts, simply places where Subversion failed to figure out what we did. By contrast, while we were working separately in Mercurial, Mercurial was busy keeping a series of changesets. And so, when we want to merge our code together, Mercurial actually has a whole lot more information: it knows what each of us changed and can reapply those changes, rather than just looking at the final product and trying to guess how to put it together. By looking at the SVN's repository folder, I have the impression that Subversion is maintaining each revisions as changeset. And from what I know, Hg is using both changeset and snapshot while Git is purely using snapshot to store the data. If my assumption is correct, then there must be other ways that make merging in DVCS easy. What are those?

  • Jrails and jquery-rails together?

    I hope you forgive me if I'm a little confused about this. Jrails rewrites all the helper methods for rjs otherwise in prototype. Jquery-rails overrides rails.js (so I taught the rjs helpers as well, but I see it's not) and the rest of the libraries in jquery instead of prototype. Does it means that with just Jquery-rails I can't use rjs at all? Then do these gems work well together and let me completely forget prototype? Is there any disadvantage in using them together? I read some complaining about the fact that jrails uses jq 1.5 and now there is 1.8, but jquery-rails gives me the last version (is there retro compatibility?), but how will this affect my development (using both the gems together)? I mean have you got some examples of jquery-ui plugins I can't use or I could have problems with? Any help is appreciated. Don't get me wrong, I'm not against prototype, just I keep on having conflicts over conflicts using both of them, and I have to chose I pick Jquery.

  • getting CS1502 compiler error on dev environment but not production.

    When I try to run my ASP.NET app from my development environment I get the following error message: Compiler Error Message: CS1502: The best overloaded method match for 'mmars.Printing.printFunctions.SetPrintSummaryProperties(mmars.contextInfo, ref mmars.Printing.printObjSummary)' has some invalid arguments. When I publish and run on our production server I don't get this error. It seems to compile fine when I build from the build menu (in fact if I change the second argument of the bolded function call below, i get a compiler error in visual studio), but now i've suddenly started getting this error message at runtime. So another question I have in addition to getting rid of the error is why is the .NET development server even trying to do JIT compilation on my project if it is already compiled into a DLL?   • Subversion unable to merge changes when using Dreamweaver

    I've got a project running and we're using SVN as the version control. There are 3 devs on it. Dev1 = OSX + Textmate Dev2 = Windows 7 + Dreamweaver (plus tortoise svn) Dev3 = OSX + Coda Case 1 (expected): Dev1 and dev3 work on a file called signup.php. They work on different parts of the file. Dev1 commits it and dev3 updates their copy. signup.php is merged as expected. All good. Case 2 (not expected): Dev1 and dev2 work on a file called signup.php. They work on different parts of the file. Dev1 commits it and dev2 updates their copy. signup.php is always in conflict even though different parts of the file are worked on. This is not the expected behaviour experienced by dev1 and dev3. This works boths ways and each time dev1 updates dev2's changes he gets conflicts too. But never with dev3. Could this be down the way Dreamweaver is saving files ? Perhaps character encoding. We are all working in UTF8. These constant and unnecessary conflicts are becoming a massive distraction. Help !

  • Best practices to deal with "slightly different" branches of source code

    This question is rather agnostic than related to a certain version control program. Assume there is a source code tree under certain distributed version control. Let's call it A. At some point somebody else clones it and gets its own copy. Let's call it B. I'll call A and B branches, even if some version control tools have different definitions for branches (some might call A and B repositories). Let's assume that branch A is the "main" branch. In the context of distributed version control this only means that branch A is modified much more actively and the owner of branch B periodically syncs (pulls) new updates from branch A. Let's consider that a certain source file in branch B contains a class (again, it's also language agnostic). The owner of branch B considers that some class methods are more appropriate and groups them together by moving them inside the class body. Functionally nothing has changed - this is a very trivial refactoring of the code. But the change gets reflected in diffs. Now, assuming that this change from branch B will never get merged into branch A, the owner of branch B will always get this difference when pulling from branch A and merging into his own workspace. Even if there's only one such trivial change, the owner of branch B needs to resolve conflicts every time when pulling from branch A. As long as branches A and B are modified independently, more and more conflicts like this appear. What is the workaround for this situation? Which workflow should the owner of branch B follow to minimize the effort for periodically syncing with branch A?

  • Is there a way to unhook a global hotkey in windows?

    I'm running Windows 7, and I installed an application that installed a global hot key (ctrl+shift+space) which conflicts with another application (Visual Studio) that uses that hotkey (though, not globally, only applications specific). The question is, knowing which application it is (ScanSnap Manager) and that it doesn't have a setting to turn off the hot key, is there a way I disable it through Windows somehow? Thanks!

Now: # yum install php-gd Fails of course (not the same PHP version) into: *Error: Missing Dependency: php-common = 5.1.6-27.el5_5.3 is needed by package php-gd-5.1.6-27.el5_5.3.x86_64* And: # yum install php53-gd Fails into Error: php53-common conflicts with php-common How can I add the GD libraries now?

  • CTRL-Space always toggles Chinese IME (Windows 7)

    I am running Windows 7 Ultimate (w/ SP1), and have multiple UI languages installed - mainly for screenshots etc. Among them are Chinese (traditional) and Chinese (Simplified), which insist on hooking the CTRL+Space key even though I have disabled / overridden these hotkey assignments under Language Bar settings / Advanced key settings. (It conflicts with CTRL+Space in the Visual Studio IDE, and is pretty annoying beyond that.) Any ideas?

    I you copy/paste some files into a directory that already contains files with the same name you'll get a confirmation dialog "There is already a file with the same name in this location..." To replace all files you have to check "Do this for the next N conflicts" and then click on "Copy and Replace". Is there a keyboard shortcut for this (like there was in XP where you could simply press 'a')?

  • Is there any very bare minimal ftp server for ubuntu that wouldn't conflict with other installed servers?

    I have installed proftpd with mod-sql modules; i need to have a ftp server that would run on another port (and use a separate authentication scheme) Whenever i try to install vsftpd or pureftpd it simply removes proftpd and dependencies; i'm guessing it's to prevent having conflicts ... Is there any 'very small' ftp server; like run from command line that I could use ? I've searched all around but cannot find ... Any help would be appreciated

  • Prevent service from starting

    So, I do Arduino development on my system to program arduinos using the FTDI USB programming interface (if you have no idea what this means don't worry). The issue arises because the FTDI interface uses tty to communicate and it conflicts with one of the default ubuntu services. The default service in question is called brltty (which enables braille accessibility for people with impaired vision). Considering that I don't have any particular use for this service and it's annoying to stop it manually (using 'service brltty stop') after I restart my system... Where would I configure this (or any) service to prevent it from loading on startup? Note: I also have this issue with qemu-kvm conflicting with virtualbox.

The root problem is that I need to use a new feature introduced in the latest MySQL Workbench builds (DB Migration) which uses odbc for that matter. Here is what Mysql doc says about it : Linux The Migration Wizard uses iODBC as a driver manager for all of its ODBC connections in Linux. This may give you some troubles because most Linux distributions provide ODBC drivers compiled against unixODBC. This is another driver manager not supported by MySQL Workbench so you won’t be able to use those drivers unless you compile them against iODBC. Here’s what you should do.     The "initialization error: class file has wrong version" has become a somewhat recurrent error message thrown by JDeveloper 10.1.2.x as newer JDKs have been released in the last years. Note that JDeveloper 10.1.2 was developed to run with JDK 1.4.2. The reasons for this error message to be thrown include: A JDK version higher than 1.4.2 is being used and some unexpected incompatibility conflicts can occur because of that Some of the libraries used on the workspace and/or project were compiled with newer JDK version So, it is strongly recommended to use newer JDeveloper versions (10.1.3 - 11g) for newer JDKs.   • Databinding to an Entity Framework in WPF

    Is it good to use databinding to Entity Framework's Entity in WPF? I created a singleton entity framework context: To have only one connection and it won't open and close all the time. So I can pass the Entity around to any class, and can modify the Entity and make changes to the database. All ViewModels getting the entity out from the same Context and databinding to the View saves me time from mapping new object, but now I imagine there is problem in not using the newest Context: A ViewModel databinding to a Entity, then someone else updated the data. The ViewModel will still display the old data, because the Context is never being dispose to refresh. I always create new Context and then dispose of it. If I want to pass the Entity around, then there will be conflicts between Context and Entity. What is the suggested way of doing this ?

I want to see a list of information-age conflicts that you feel qualify as "infowar." Me, I think the RIAA vs file-sharing qualifies.   • Windows doesn't boot after Ubuntu installation

    I have had serious problems installing Ubuntu and Windows and have dual boot. Recently I installed both operating systems, Ubuntu was the last one, and after that my computer was booting directly to Windows 7. I used my Ubuntu USB live to repair the grub, and could repair. Now I initiate my pc with grub 1.99 and Ubuntu and Windows are recognized, but Windows gives an error and don't initiate, suggesting to use Windows DVD to repair the grub. I tried that but with no effects on be behavior. I have a new asus n56vm. This conflicts with gpt and mbr have been a huge pain to me. I don't know what to to, I installed Ubuntu and Windows numerous times since I bought this computer 2 weeks ago.
