  • Spring Weblfow 2 - Double Submit

    - by John W.
Hello All, I am investigating a possible issue with double submits and I am looking at the possibilty of a double submit from a webflow execution. I have read many times that webflow will handle double submits, there are plenty references here. However I then came across I a forum response on the spring source forums contradicting what I read saying, SWF synchronizes on the conversation. Only one request will be processed at a time per conversation. Take note that if you're using snapshots, then it's possible repeatedly clicking on the submit button will generate a second request. I would recommend setting history to invalidate or discard in the transition from your view-state. We do have snapshots enabled but the book notes that using snapshots actually allows to solve the double submits. Does anyone have any insight on this? Thanks.

  • Are JSF 2.x ViewScoped Beans Thread Safe?

    - by Mark
I've been googling for a couple hours on this issue to no eval. WELD docs and the CDI spec are pretty clear regarding thread safety of the scopes provided. For example: Application Scope - not safe Session Scope - not safe Request Scope - safe, always bound to a single thread Conversation Scope - safe (due to the WELD proxy serializing access from multiple request threads) I can't find anything on the View Scope defined by JSF 2.x. It is in roughly the same bucket as the Conversation Scope in that it is very possible for multiple requests to hit the scope concurrently despite it being bound to a single view / user. What I don't know is if the JSF implementation serializes access to the bean from multiple requests. Anyone have knowledge of the spec or of the Morraja/MyFaces implementations that could clear this up?

  • I could use some help with my SQL command

    - by SuperSpy
    I've got a database table called 'mesg' with the following structure: receiver_id | sender_id | message | timestamp | read Example: 2 *(«me)* | 6 *(«nice girl)* | 'I like you, more than ghoti' | yearsago | 1 *(«seen it)* 2 *(«me)* | 6 *(«nice girl)* | 'I like you, more than fish' | now | 1 *(«seen it)* 6 *(«nice girl)* | 2 *(«me)* | 'Hey, wanna go fish?' | yearsago+1sec | 0 *(«she hasn't seen it)* It's quite a tricky thing that I want to achieve. I want to get: the most recent message(=ORDER BY time DESC) + 'contact name' + time for each 'conversation'. Contact name = uname WHERE uid = 'contact ID' (the username is in another table) Contact ID = if(sessionID*(«me)*=sender_id){receiver_id}else{sender_id} Conversation is me = receiver OR me = sender For example: From: **Bas Kreuntjes** *(« The message from bas is the most recent)* Hey $py, How are you doing... From: **Sophie Naarden** *(« Second recent)* Well hello, would you like to buy my spam? ... *(«I'll work on that later >p)* To: **Melanie van Deijk** *(« My message to Melanie is 3th)* And? Did you kiss him? ... That is a rough output. QUESTION: Could someone please help me setup a good SQL command. This will be the while loup <?php $sql = "????"; $result = mysql_query($sql); while($fetch = mysql_fetch_assoc($result)){ ?> <div class="message-block"> <h1><?php echo($fetch['uname']); ?></h1> <p><?php echo($fetch['message']); ?></p> <p><?php echo($fetch['time']); ?></p> </div> <?php } ?> I hope my explanation is good enough, if not, please tell me. Please don't mind my English, and the Dutch names (I am Dutch myself) Feel free to correct my English UPDATE1: Best I've got until now: But I do not want more than one conversation to show up... u=user table m=message table SELECT u.uname, m.message, m.receiver_uid, m.sender_uid, m.time FROM m, u WHERE (m.receiver_uid = '$myID' AND u.uid = m.sender_uid) OR (m.sender_uid = '$myID' AND u.uid = m.receiver_uid) ORDER BY time DESC;

  • User Drawn Controls: the MSN chat window

    - by Tommy
I'm wondering about the famous MSN chat clients conversation windows! I'm sure there must be alot of different aspects but I'd like to focus on those little sliding panes. For instance where the pictures of the people in the conversation is displayed. When you click the collapse button the pictures dissapear and the panel gracefully slides in, and when you click it again to expand, it slides out and the pictures are smoothly faded in. How would one go about customly drawing a control in WinForms that had simmilar behaviour?

  • java multiple connections between server and one client

    - by user1507128
I'm trying to make like a skype-instant messager, my idea for it is to have one server which handles multiple connections for the clients. What I now have is a friend list etc, but now I want to create Threads both for server and client to handle a conversation. The problem is that I need multiple connections between a server and one client for every conversation(I think). but i dont think it's possible. Does someone have another way for doing this or maybe a way to make multiple connections between the server and a client? Thanks for helping me out PS: English is not my main language so please excuse me for my grammar.

  • TFS 2010 and SSL Configuration: Part 1 Certificates in Place

    - by Enrique Lima
What is needed?  For starters, an understanding on the how to properly configure a certificate in IIS. Many people have found challenges in working with certificates in IIS 7 First thing is to get your certificate created, and then proceed to add it to IIS 7 By clicking on Server Certificates, we will get to this And we will be able to see the certificate or certificates installed. What options do we have to get certificates? They can be generated “in-house” or purchase them from certification authorities.  If it is “in-house”, you will those options in the Server Certificates area of IIS Manager.

  • Rumor Mill: New Features SQL 11

    - by Mike Femenella
For those of you that remember the old Mike Myers SNL skit, talk amongst yourselves..I’ll give you a topic: This is purely based on 1 conversation with 1 person from the mothership (Microsoft). SQL 11 is in the works and supposedly includes readable mirrors and in the version beyond that read/write mirrors. Given the name I would assume that release would be (drum roll) 2011 some time. Discuss.

  • SQL SERVER – Detecting Leap Year in T-SQL using SQL Server 2012 – IIF, EOMONTH and CONCAT Function

    - by pinaldave
Note: Tomorrow is February 29th. This blog post is dedicated to coming tomorrow – a special day :) Subu: “How can I find leap year in using SQL Server 2012?“ Pinal: “Are you asking me how to year 2012 is leap year using T-SQL – search online and you will find many example of the same.” Subu: “No. I am asking – How can I find leap year in using SQL Server 2012?“ Pinal: “Oh so you are asking – How can I find leap year in using SQL Server 2012?“ Subu: “Yeah - How can I find leap year in using SQL Server 2012?“ Pinal: “Let me do that for you – How can you find leap year in using SQL Server 2012?“ Indeed a fun conversation. Honestly, only reason I pasted our conversation here is – it was fun. What he was asking is that how to do it using new functions introduced in SQL Server 2012. Here is the article I have written which introduces all the new functions in SQL Server 2012 Summary of All the Analytic Functions – MSDN and SQLAuthority and 14 New Functions – A Quick Guide. There are many functions written to figure out to figure out if any year is Leap Year or not. The same I have written using T-SQL function over here. CREATE FUNCTION dbo.IsLeapYear (@year INT) RETURNS INT AS BEGIN RETURN(IIF(DATEPART(dd,(EOMONTH(CONCAT(@year,'0201')))) = 29,1,0)) END GO What I really like is that I was able to use three newly introduced function in SQL Server 2012 in above script. You can read more about them here. IIF, EOMONTH and CONCAT. You can validate above query by running following script. SELECT dbo.IsLeapYear('2011') 'IsLeapYear'; SELECT dbo.IsLeapYear('2012') 'IsLeapYear'; GO You will get result 1 if the year is leap year and 0 if year is not leap year. - by Pavan Kumar
Hello, The headphones and microphone on my Ubuntu 10.10 work fine. But when I start an audio conversation using empathy or pidgin, my computer hangs, the microphone doesn't work, and I can't record anything. I have tried sudo alsa force-reload, I have installed pavucontrol, but nothing works. I can't increase the volume of the headphones and master channel using alsamixer though they are unmuted. (Everything works fine in Fedora and Windows XP.) How do I fix this? Thank you.

  • SQL SERVER – Various Leap Year Logics

    - by pinaldave
Earlier I wrote one article on Leap Year and created one video about Leap Year. My point of view was to demonstrate how we can use SQL Server 2012 features to identify Leap year. How ever during the conversation I had some really good conversation. Here are updates for those who have missed reading the excellent comments on the blog. Incorrect Logic There are so many people still think Leap Year is the event which is consistently happening at every four year and the way to find it is divide the year with 4 and if the remainder is 0. That year is leap year. Well, it is not correct. Comment by David Bridge Check out this excerpt from wikipedia page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leap_year “most years that are evenly divisible by 4 are leap years…” “…Some exceptions to this rule are required since the duration of a solar year is slightly less than 365.25 days. Years that are evenly divisible by 100 are not leap years, unless they are also evenly divisible by 400, in which case they are leap years. For example, 1600 and 2000 were leap years, but 1700, 1800 and 1900 were not. Similarly, 2100, 2200, 2300, 2500, 2600, 2700, 2900 and 3000 will not be leap years, but 2400 and 2800 will be.” If you use logic of divide by 4 and remainder is 0 to find leap year, you will may end up with inaccurate result. The correct way to identify the year is to figure out the days of February and if the count is 29, the year is for sure leap year. Valid Alternate Solutions Comment by sainswor99insworth IIF((@Year%4=0 AND @Year%100 != 0) OR @Year%400=0, 1,0) Comment by Madhivanan Madhivanan has written a blog post about an year ago where he listed multiple ways to find leap year. Comment by Jayan DECLARE @year INT SET @year = 2012 IF (((@year % 4 = 0) AND (@year % 100 != 0)) OR (@year % 400 = 0)) PRINT ’1' ELSE print ’0' Comment by David DECLARE @Year INT = 2012 SELECT ISDATE('2/29/' + CAST(@Year AS CHAR(4))) Comment by David Bridge Incidentally – Another approach would be to take one day off March 1st and see if it is 29. • Rails noob - How to work on data stored in models

    - by Raghav Kanwal
I'm a beginner to Ruby and Rails, and I have made a couple applications like a Microposts clone and a Todo-List for starters, but I'm starting work on another project. I've got 2 models - user and tracker, you log in via the username which is authenticated and you can log down data which is stored in the tracker table. The tracker has a column named "Calories" and I would like Rails to sum all of the values entered if they are on the same date, and output the result which is subtracted from, say 3000 in a new statement after the display of the model. I know what I'm talking about is just ruby code, im just not sure how to incorporate it. :( Could someone please guide me through this? And also link me to some guides/tutorials which teach working on data from models? Thank you :)

This page also contains the VisualState for Snapped view, so you don’t have to handle it in code. When you choose to add a basic page to an empty solution, you’ll get a prompt like below. You see, we're all programmers and we are supposed to have talked about these, (in a everyday conversation what we can talk would be more meaningful because it's faster) but we don't. So what about you? Do you enjoy discussing interesting programmer related topics with your programmer friends?
