  • rails rollback updates when task fails

    - by ash34
Hi, I have the following "generate_report" method being called from a rake task, which gets a hash as an input, that contains the reported hours spent by each user on a task and outputs the data as a .csv report. desc "Task reporting" task :report, [:inp_dt] => [:environment] do |t, args| h = select_data(args.inp_dt) /* not shown here */ generate_report(h) end def generate_report(h) out_dir = File.dirname(__FILE__) + '/../../output' myfile = "#{out_dir}" + "/monthly_#{Date.today.strftime("%m%d%Y")}.csv" writer = CSV.open(myfile, 'w') h.each do |h,v| v.each do |key, val| writer << val end end writer.close end where h = {:BILL=>{:PROJA=>["CYR", "00876", "2", 24], :PROJB=>["EPR", "00876", "2", 16]}, :JANE=>{:PROJA=>["TRB", "049576", "2", 16]}} I would like to set/update a 'processed' flag for each reported transaction and only commit the update when the file is written correctly or rollback the updates when the task fails. How can I accomplish this. thanks, ash

  • Error 500 on template.render() with jinja2

    - by Asperitas
I am working on playing with some Python to create a webapp. At first I put the HTML in a string, using %s to fill certain elements. That all worked perfectly. Now I want to put the HTML in a template, so I followed this tutorial. My code looks like this (I deleted irrelevant code for this error): import codecs import cgi import os import jinja2 jinja_environment = jinja2.Environment(loader=jinja2.FileSystemLoader(os.path.join(os.path.dirname(__file__)))) class Rot13Handler(webapp2.RequestHandler): def get(self): template = jinja_environment.get_template('rot13.html') self.response.out.write(template.render({'text': ''})) When I replace just template.render({'text': ''}) a random string, the program works fine. I did add the latest jinja2 library to my app.yaml, and naturally my rot13.html does exist with the {{ text }} added. So could anyone please help me in the right direction? I don't know why it's going wrong.

  • What value to use for include_path in .htaccess

    - by bateman_ap
Currently in my .htaccess file I am setting include_path such as this: php_value include_path /mnt/webs/mysite/includes:/usr/share/pear However this isn't great if I need to put my sites on a new server as I need to go through a whole load of sites updating each .htaccess. Basically would like a way to basically say "use the folder called includes in the site root (I run a variety of different sites off one server so each .htaccess file and include path will be different). In a related question on here I had someone use: inclue(dirname(__FILE__)."/inc2.php"); But this is in code and might be a bit annoying to do everytime, however should I just use this method and scrap the idea of using .htaccess?

  • How can I set the Rails environment for my somewhat stand alone Ruby script?

    - by Nick
I have a Ruby script in my Rails app that I use to load some data from Twitter. In the future I will make it an automatic background process, but for now I run it manually like: ruby /lib/twitter/twitterLoad.rb In order to use the Rails model classes and such, I have the following as the top line of the script: require "#{File.dirname(__FILE__)}/../../config/environment.rb" By default, the development environment is used. But, I'd like to be able to choose the production environment at some point. Update #1: The RAILS_ENV constant is getting set in the environment.rb file. So, I was able to put ENV['RAILS_ENV'] = 'production' at the very top (before the environment.rb) line and solve my problem somewhat. So, my new question is, can do pass in env vars through the command line?

  • "rake test" doesn't load fixtures?

  • basename() returning int?

    - by EB
Probably something stupid I'm missing but, why am I getting this warning? static void foo(char *path) { char *bname; char *path2 = strdup(path); bname = basename(path2); (line with basename() call): warning: assignment makes pointer from integer without a cast Indeed, if I change to this, the warning goes away: bname = (char *)basename(path2); man 3 basename tells me: char *basename(char *path); Both dirname() and basename() return pointers to null-terminated strings. What gives?

  • Ruby - Is there a way to overwrite the __FILE__ variable?

    - by Markus Orrelly
I'm doing some unit testing, and some of the code is checking to see if files exist based on the relative path of the currently-executing script by using the FILE variable. I'm doing something like this: if File.directory?(File.join(File.dirname(__FILE__),'..','..','directory')) blah blah blah ... else raise "Can't find directory" end I'm trying to find a way to make it fail in the unit tests without doing anything drastic. Being able to overwrite the __ FILE __ variable would be easiest, but as far as I can tell, it's impossible. Any tips?

  • AppEngine and Django: including a template file

    - by PythonPower
As the title suggests, I'm using Google App Engine and Django. I have quite a bit of identical code across my templates and would like to reduce this by including template files. So, in my main application directory I have the python handler file, the main template, and the template I want to include in my main template. I would have thought that including {% include "fileToInclude.html" %} would work on its own but that simply doesn't include anything. I assume I have to set something up, maybe using TEMPLATE_DIRS, but can't figure it out on my own. EDIT: I've tried: TEMPLATE_DIRS = (os.path.join(os.path.dirname(__file__), 'templates'), ) But to no avail. I'll try some other possibilities too.

  • PHP file upload not working with dynamic path

i am trying to write a php upload script to upload files to different folders. My code works for direct path (something like 'path/to/directory') but not for dynamic path taken from runtime. $directory_self = dirname($_SERVER['PHP_SELF']); $folder = $_POST['folder_name']; //final folder $toupload = $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'] . $directory_self .'/files'. $folder; $uploadsDirectory = str_replace (" ", "", $toupload); When i echo $uploadsDirectory it shows the exact path. Could any one help me what could be wrong in this?

  • Is it possible to use os.walk over SSH?

    - by LeoB
I'm new to Python so forgive me if this is basic, I've searched but can't find an answer. I'm trying to convert a Perl script into Python (3.x) which connects to a remote server and copies the files in a given directory to the local machine. Integrity of the transfer is paramount and there are several steps built-in to ensure a complete and accurate transfer. The first step is to get a complete listing of the files to be passed to rsync. The Perl script has the following lines to accomplish this: @dir_list = `ssh user@host 'find $remote_dir -type f -exec /bin/dirname {} \\;'`; @file_list = `ssh user@host 'find $remote_dir -type f -exec /bin/basename {} \\;'`; The two lists are then joined to create $full_list. Rather than open two separate ssh instances I'd like to open one and use os.walk to get the information using: for remdirname, remdirnames, remfilesnames in os.walk(remotedir): for remfilename in remfilesnames: remfulllist.append(os.path.join(remdirname, remfilename)) Thank you for any help you can provide.

  • Syntax problem when checking for a file

    - by Luke
This piece of code has previously worked but I have C&P it to a new place and for some reason, it now won't work! <? $user_image = '/images/users/' . $_SESSION['id'] . 'a.jpg'; if (file_exists(realpath(dirname(__FILE__) . $user_image))) { echo '<img src="'.$user_image.'" alt="" />'; } else { echo '<img src="/images/users/small.jpg" alt="" />'; } ?> As you can see, I am checking for a file, if exists, showing it, if not, showing a placeholder. The $_SESSION['id'] variable does exist and is being used elsewhere within the script. Any ideas what the problem is? Thanks

  • [PHP] Variables loaded from a separate script are not defined within functions

    - by Goro
Hello, I use settings.php to store general settings for my application. When I load this settings file, I can use the variables defined in settings.php in the script itself, but not within any functions I define in it. For example, in my class definition, myclass.php: <?php $preIP = dirname(__FILE__); require_once( "preIP/settings.php" ); class MyClass { ... public function foo() { echo $variable_from_settings; } } The code in the function foo() will not work (the variable will not be defined). The settings.php file looks like this: $variable_from_settings = "bar"; Thanks,

  • Google App Engine: Difficulty with Users API (or maybe just a Python syntax problem)

    - by Rosarch
I have a simple GAE app that includes a login/logout link. This app is running on the dev server at the moment. The base page handler gets the current user, and creates a login/logout url appropriately. It then puts this information into a _template_data dictionary, for convenience of subclasses. class BasePage(webapp.RequestHandler): _user = users.get_current_user() _login_logout_link = None if _user: _login_logout_link = users.create_logout_url('/') else: _login_logout_link = users.create_login_url('/') _template_data = {} _template_data['login_logout_link'] = _login_logout_link _template_data['user'] = _user def render(self, templateName, templateData): path = os.path.join(os.path.dirname(__file__), 'Static/Templates/%s.html' % templateName) self.response.out.write(template.render(path, templateData)) Here is one such subclass: class MainPage(BasePage): def get(self): self.render('start', self._template_data) The login/logout link is displayed fine, and going to the correct devserver login/logout page. However, it seems to have no effect - the server still seems to think the user is logged out. What am I doing wrong here?

  • Best method for creating absolute path in PHP? (See 3 methods listed inside)

    - by mark
I can create paths with no problem, but I want to know which of these 3 methods is the most rock solid and reliable and will work on the most servers. Right now I am using method 1 in my script and some users are having path issues. I just want the method that will work on any version of php and almost any server config. 1. <?php echo $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT']; ?> 2. <?php echo getcwd(); ?> 3. <?php echo dirname(__FILE__); ?> Thank you so much for any expertise you can provide about this!

  • Using DNFS for test purposes

    - by rene.kundersma
Because of other priorities such as bringing the first v2 Database Machine in Netherlands into production I did spend less time on my blog that planned. I do however like to tell some things about DNFS, the build-in NFS client we have in Oracle RDBMS since 11.1. What DNFS is and how to set it up can all be found here . As you see this documentation is actually the "Clusterware Installation Guide". I think that is weird, I would expect this to be part of the Admin Guide, especially the "Tablespace" chapter. I do however want to show what I did not find in the documentation that quickly (and solved after talking to my famous colleague "the prutser"): First, a quick setup: 1. The standard ODM library needs to be replaced with the NFS ODM library: [oracle@ocm01 ~]$ cp $ORACLE_HOME/lib/libodm11.so $ORACLE_HOME/lib/libodm11.so_stub [oracle@ocm01 ~]$ ln -s $ORACLE_HOME/lib/libnfsodm11.so $ORACLE_HOME/lib/libodm11.so After changing to this library you will notice the following in your alert.log: Oracle instance running with ODM: Oracle Direct NFS ODM Library Version 2.0 2. The intention is to mount the datafiles over normal NAS (like NetApp). But, in case you want to test yourself and use an exported NFS filesystem, it should look like the following: [oracle@ocm01 ~]$ cat /etc/exports /u01/scratch/nfs *(rw,sync, insecure) Please note the "insecure" option in the export, since you will not be able to use DNFS without it if you export a filesystem from a host. Without the "insecure" option the NFS server considers the port used by the database "insecure" and the database is unable to acquire the mount: Direct NFS: NFS3ERR 1 Not owner. path ocm01.nl.oracle.com mntport 930 nfsport 2049 3. Before configuring the new Oracle stanza for NFS we still need to configure a regular kernel NFS mount: [root@ocm01 ~]# cat /etc/fstab | grep nfs ocm01.nl.oracle.com:/u01/scratch/nfs /incoming nfs rw,bg,hard,nointr,rsize=32768,wsize=32768,tcp,actimeo=0,vers=3,timeo=600 4. Then a so called Oracle-'nfstab' needs to be created that specifies what the available exports to use: [oracle@ocm01 ~]$ cat /etc/oranfstab server:ocm01.nl.oracle.com path:192.168.1.40 export:/u01/scratch/nfs mount:/incoming 5. Creating a tablespace with a datafile on the NFS location: SQL create tablespace rk datafile '/incoming/rk.dbf' size 10M; Tablespace created. Be sure to know that it may happen that you do not specify the insecure option (like I did). In that case you will still see output from the query v$dnfs_servers: SQL select * from v$dnfs_servers; ID SVRNAME DIRNAME MNTPORT NFSPORT WTMAX RTMAX -- -------------------- ----------------- --------- ---------- ------ ------ 1 ocm01.nl.oracle.com /u01/scratch/nfs 684 2049 32768 32768 But, querying v$dnfsfiles and v$dnfs_channels will now return any result, and indeed, you will see the following message in the alert-log when you create a file : Direct NFS: NFS3ERR 1 Not owner. path ocm01.nl.oracle.com mntport 930 nfsport 2049 After correcting the export: SQL select * from v$dnfs_files; FILENAME FILESIZE PNUM SVR_ID --------------- -------- ------ ------ /incoming/rk.dbf 10493952 20 1 Rene Kundersma Oracle Technology Services, The Netherlands

    - by jon
I have two Linux systems, both running Debian Squeeze. Versions of (I think) the stuff involved are: kernel: 2.6.32-5-xen-amd64 ii nfs-kernel-server 1:1.2.2-4squeeze2 support for NFS kernel server ii libnfsidmap2 0.23-2 An nfs idmapping library ii nfs-common 1:1.2.2-4squeeze2 NFS support files common to client and server ii portmap 6.0.0-2 RPC port mapper (The client doesn't have nfs-kernel-server involved.) I have a directory with ACLs: # file: dirname # owner: jon # group: foogroup # flags: -s- user::rwx user:www-data:rwx group::r-x group:foogroup:rwx mask::rwx other::r-x default:... There are two users, neither one of which owns the directory: uid=3001(jake) gid=3001(jake) groups=3001(jake),104(wheel),3999(foogroup) uid=3005(nic) gid=3005(nic) groups=3005(nic),3999(foogroup) The jake user can create files in the directory without issues. The nic user can't. All UIDs/GIDs are the same on the client and server. I've verified (packet sniffing) that the right uids/gids get sent via AUTH_UNIX are correct-- uid=gid=3005, auxiliary gids=3005,3999-- and that the server replies with NFS3ERR_ACCESS, which the kernel on the client maps to EACCES (Permission denied). Can anyone help me here?

  • Start and shutdown tomcat via ssh

    - by bxshi
Updated I find out that the path of jdk it using is wrong. eval: 1: /opt/Java/jdk1.6.0_25/jre/bin/java: not found the Java should be lower case java, how is that happen? When I run this script directly on server, it is just okay. I'm trying to start or shutdown tomcat via a remote client. On my server, I've got 3 different tomcat: tomcat1, tomcat2, and tomcat3. Firstly, I've tried to run tomcat_path/bin/shutdown.sh to stop it via ssh, and the command is ssh [email protected] "cd /home/jake/tomcat2/bin;exec bash ./shutdown.sh" both " and ' are tried, but do not work, the output is eval: 1: /opt/Java/jdk1.6.0_25/jre/bin/java: not found it seems that the shell script runs on my local client, because on server it has this file. Is there any way to run a shell script on remote server correctly? updated I've run ssh [email protected] "sh -x /home/jake/tomcat/bin/shutdown.sh > /home/jake/tomcat.log 2>&1" and the output in tomcat.log is : + PRG=/home/jake/tomcat/bin/shutdown.sh + [ -h /home/jake/tomcat/bin/shutdown.sh ] + dirname /home/jake/tomcat/bin/shutdown.sh + PRGDIR=/home/jake/tomcat/bin + EXECUTABLE=catalina.sh + [ ! -x /home/jake/tomcat/bin/catalina.sh ] + exec /home/jake/tomcat/bin/catalina.sh stop eval: 1: /opt/Java/jdk1.6.0_25/jre/bin/java: not found

  • Installing Ruby 1.9.3 OSX 10.7.4 breaks after altering PATH

    - by R V
I was having trouble installing ruby 1.9.3-p194 from ruby 1.8.7 on my mac osx 10.7.4. I have was trying to fix my homebrew after running "brew doctor" and got the message of "/usr/bin occurs before /usr/local/bin This means that system-provided programs will be used instead of those provided by Homebrew. The following tools exist at both paths: c++-4.2 cpp-4.2 erb g++-4.2 gcc-4.2 gcov-4.2 gem i686-apple-darwin11-cpp-4.2.1 i686-apple-darwin11-g++-4.2.1 i686-apple-darwin11-gcc-4.2.1 irb rake rdoc ri ruby testrb" I fixed it by entering the following, which I found on another stackoverflow answer: export PATH="/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/sbin:~/bin$PATH" Lo and behold! when I typed that ruby updates to 1.9.3-p194. Ruby files seem to compile and run just fine. However, afterward, my navigation around terminal is messed up severely. For instance I can't do the command "open example_file.html" and have the file pop up in Chrome, instead I get the error: "-bash: open: command not found" Also, when I change directory, I get an error, inputting "$ cd desktop" yields the output, "-bash: dirname: command not found" but the directory does then changes... strange. When I exit out of a terminal window all this resets. I'm back to Ruby 1.8.7, have to use the PATH command again to update to 1.9.3, command line navigation gets broken again. Any guidance on how to remedy so I can use 1.9.3-p194 and also have normal terminal navigation would be greatly appreciated.

  • PLESK PostFix Error Local in maillog, how to troubleshoot

    - by RCNeil
I'm using the PHP mail() function, using PostFix, on CentOS6, Plesk 10.4, and my email is not getting delivered to a particular address. My personal GMail and Yahoo email addresses receive email from my server fine and do not produce errors. After a wonderful suggestion on here, I checked my mail logs, and this is the error I see : Apr 10 10:26:29 ######### postfix/qmgr[8323]: 19EA21827: from= <[email protected]>, size=645, nrcpt=1 (queue active) Apr 10 10:26:29 ######### postfix-local[8331]: postfix-local: [email protected], [email protected], dirname=/var/qmail/mailnames Apr 10 10:26:29 ######### postfix-local[8331]: cannot chdir to mailname dir name: No such file or directory Apr 10 10:26:29 ######### postfix-local[8331]: Unknown user: [email protected] Apr 10 10:26:29 ######### postfix/pipe[8330]: 19EA21827: to=<[email protected]>, relay=plesk_virtual, delay=0.15, delays=0.11/0/0/0.04, dsn=2.0.0, status=sent (delivered via plesk_virtual service) Apr 10 10:26:29 ######### postfix/qmgr[8323]: 19EA21827: removed [email protected] is the name I've declared in php.ini for sendmail_from = "[email protected]" sendmail_path = "/usr/sbin/sendmail -t -f [email protected]" and the recipient is supposed to be [email protected]. Is this an error on my side or the recipients? Can I address this on my server? Many thanks SF.
