I have to know, who (usersid or loginname) changed a specified GPO for a specified OU in the Active Directory. Given our audit settings include this, what would be the right Event ID to look for?
Firefox adoption in the home/personal user base seems to be growing fine, but adoption in the enterprise is not going anywhere quickly.
My view on this is because SysAdmins are not promoting it within the organisations because Internet Explorer has features which make it more acceptable to an enterprise, such as
Managing settings via GPO…
I've followed the deployment instructions on:

I've applied some settings to a GPO:
However,
When I do GPUPDATE, log out, log back in, nothing has changed...?
Am I missing something?
I'm using Firefox 3.6.2.

How to configure non-admin users to allow them to install updates for Java and Adobe Acrobat Reader without needing for administrator password on Windows 7. Updates for Microsoft products install without problems.
This can be Active Directory (Windows 2003) solution, or computer based (employable through GPO or login script).
I'm not even sure if "robustly" is a word. Anyway.
Context:
We have a few hundred Windows 7 workstations on a LAN. We use AD/GPO management pretty heavily, but there are a lot of periodic and/or manual maintenance tasks we need to do that can't be done via GPO/scheduled task. For example, say I want to execute program X (which runs…
We have a windows 2003 AD and are using Folder redirection to redirect the users My Documents to a share. Is there a way to save certain filetypes (*.mp3, *.avi) or folders (My Music, My Pictures) on the user's hard disk instead of saving on the netwerk share?
I'm aware of the GPO setting 'Exclude directories in roaming profile' but…
I'm writing an installer and need to change all users' wallpaper. I can do this from the group policy editor GUI, but need to do so from my installer. I can't just edit the registry as it gets reset by a GPO on login.
How do I apply the relevant administrative template via programatically (preferably cmd.exe or via the registry)?…
I am trying to use a Drive Maps GPO on Server 2012 - User Configuration - Preferences - Windows Settings - Drive Maps.
Problem is I want to map a drive to D: but this is automatically assigned to the DVD drive.
Question is can I prevent D: being used as the next drive letter when Windows 8 boots up? I seem to recall in early…
Hi,
we're running an ActiveDirectory environment and want to have some shares listed as Shared Resources under the Network Neighbourhood.
This is easy in the UI but I can't seem to find a way to do it automatically via scripts/GPO/etc.
I need to set the Network Proxy Settings to Direct Connection, for computers on our domain.
I have looked at the unattended setup configurations, as well as the deployment.properties file, and didn't see an option to set it to Direct Connection.
Are there any alternate means to set this? ex...logon script, vbscript,…
Is it possible to view only those elements of GPO that are actually modified/specified?
For example, when looking at RSOP for an OU, I have loads of options which are mostly not specified - can I automatically filter it to show only e.g. that it doesn't allow to use control panel or install software, instead of…
So I am in a situation where my wallpaper is locked to a specific image on my work computer via group policy. I can't change it via the Personalization settings since it is grayed out and says it has been set by the system administrator.
Anyone know some local GPO and/or registry hackery I can do to override…
I'm trying to determine what GPO's are being applied to my Windows 7 machine in a Windows 2003 AD network. However, whenever I bring up a command window and run the GPRESULT command, all I get are error messages. Does gpresult work at all in Windows 7?
I have a small AD in which I am deploying software to domain computers through GPO (using msi installers).
What is the best method to deploy software that

All I can think is to use startup scripts (that will do…

We have recently deployed ePO to our infrastructure, but the Agent will not deploy to all systems. We suspect this is a firewall issue as disabing Windows Firewall generally makes it work.
We have decided to install the Agent via Group Policy to make sure all…
