  • What is the best design to this class?

    - by HPT
    assume this class: public class Logger { static TextWriter fs = null; public Logger(string path) { fs = File.CreateText(path); } public static void Log(Exception ex) { ///do logging } public static void Log(string text) { ///do logging } } and I have to use this like: Logger log = new Logger(path); and then use Logger.Log() to log what I want. the question is: is this a good design? to instantiate a class and then always call it's static method? any suggestion yield in better design is appreciated.

  • Wired component null in seam EntityHome action

    - by rangalo
    I have a custom EntityHome class. I wire the dependent entity in the wire method, but when I call the action (persist) the wired component is always null. What could be the reason, similar code generated by seam gen is apparently working. Here is the entity class. I have overrden persist method to log the value of the wired element. @Name("roundHome") @Scope(ScopeType.CONVERSATION) public class RoundHome extends EntityHome<Round>{ @In(required = false) private Golfer currentGolfer; @In(create = true) private TeeSetHome teeSetHome; @Override public String persist() { logger.info("Persist called"); if (null != getInstance().getTeeSet() ) { logger.info("teeSet not null in persist"); } else { logger.info("teeSet null in persist"); // wire(); } String retVal = super.persist(); //To change body of overridden methods use File | Settings | File Templates. return retVal; } @Logger private Log logger; public void wire() { logger.info("wire called"); TeeSet teeSet = teeSetHome.getDefinedInstance(); if (null != teeSet) { getInstance().setTeeSet(teeSet); logger.info("Successfully wired the teeSet instance with color: " + teeSet.getColor()); } } public boolean isWired() { logger.info("is wired called"); if(null == getInstance().getTeeSet()) { logger.info("wired teeSet instance is null, the button will be disabled !"); return false; } else { logger.info("wired teeSet instance is NOT null, the button will be enabled !"); logger.info("teeSet color: "+getInstance().getTeeSet().getColor()); return true; } } @RequestParameter public void setRoundId(Long id) { super.setId(id); } @Override protected Round createInstance() { Round round = super.createInstance(); round.setGolfer(currentGolfer); round.setDate(new java.sql.Date(System.currentTimeMillis())); return round; } } Here the xhtml <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE composition PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <ui:composition xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xmlns:s="http://jboss.com/products/seam/taglib" xmlns:ui="http://java.sun.com/jsf/facelets" xmlns:f="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core" xmlns:h="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html" xmlns:a="http://richfaces.org/a4j" xmlns:rich="http://richfaces.org/rich" template="layout/template.xhtml"> <ui:define name="body"> <h:form id="roundform"> <rich:panel> <f:facet name="header>"> #{roundHome.managed ? • seam page parameters not working as expected.

    - by rangalo
    Hi, I am learning seam and following a very famous book Seam In Action by Dan Allen. This is an example from this book. Seam 2.2.0.GA JBoss 5.1.0.GA Here the page parameter roundId is always null even after a round is serialized, it is never passed. Neither to Roud.xhtml nor to RoundEdit.xhtml after clicking save on RoundEdit.xhtml. The entity always stays unmanaged. • which xml validator will work perfectly for multithreading project

    - by Sunil Kumar Sahoo
    Hi All, I have used jdom for xml validation against schema. The main problem there is that it gives an error FWK005 parse may not be called while parsing The main reason was that multiple of threads working for xerces validation at the same time. SO I got the solution that i have to lock that validation. which is not good So I want to know which xml validator works perfectly for multithreading project public static HashMap validate(String xmlString, Validator validator) { HashMap<String, String> map = new HashMap<String, String>(); long t1 = System.currentTimeMillis(); DocumentBuilder builder = null; try { //obtain lock to proceed // lock.lock(); try { builder = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance().newDocumentBuilder(); // Source source = new DOMSource(builder.parse(new ByteArrayInputStream(xmlString.getBytes()))); validator.validate(new StreamSource(new StringReader(xmlString))); map.put("ISVALID", "TRUE"); logger.info("We have successfuly validated the schema"); } catch (Exception ioe) { ioe.printStackTrace(); logger.error("NOT2 VALID STRING IS :" + xmlString); map.put("MSG", ioe.getMessage()); // logger.error("IOException while validating the input XML", ioe); } logger.info(map); long t2 = System.currentTimeMillis(); logger.info("XML VALIDATION TOOK:::" + (t2 - t1)); } catch (Exception e) { logger.error(e); } finally { //release lock // lock.unlock(); builder = null; } return map; } Thanks Sunil Kumar Sahoo

  • pooling with Windsor

    - by AlonEl
    I've tried out the pooling lifestyle with Windsor. Lets say I want multiple CustomerTasks to work with a pool of ILogger's. when i try resolving more times than maxPoolSize, new loggers keeps getting created. what am i missing and what exactly is the meaning of min and max pool size? the xml configuration i use is (demo code): <component id="customertasks" type="WindsorTest.CustomerTasks, WindsorTestCheck" lifestyle="transient" /> <component id="logger.console" service="WindsorTest.ILogger, WindsorTestCheck" type="WindsorTest.ConsoleLogger, WindsorTestCheck" lifestyle="pooled" initialPoolSize="2" maxPoolSize="5" /> Code is: public interface ILogger { void Log(string message); } public class ConsoleLogger : ILogger { private static int count = 0; public ConsoleLogger() { Console.WriteLine("Hello from constructor number:" + count); count++; } public void Log(string message) { Console.WriteLine(message); } } public class CustomerTasks { private readonly ILogger logger; public CustomerTasks(ILogger logger) { this.logger = logger; } public void SaveCustomer() { logger.Log("Saved customer"); } }

  • Timer Service in ejb 3.1 - schedule calling timeout problem

    - by Greg
    Hi Guys, I have created simple example with @Singleton, @Schedule and @Timeout annotations to try if they would solve my problem. The scenario is this: EJB calls 'check' function every 5 secconds, and if certain conditions are met it will create single action timer that would invoke some long running process in asynchronous fashion. (it's sort of queue implementation type of thing). It then continues to check, but as long as long running process is there it won't start another one. Below is the code I came up with, but this solution does not work, because it looks like asynchronous call I'm making is in fact blocking my @Schedule method. @Singleton @Startup public class GenerationQueue { private Logger logger = Logger.getLogger(GenerationQueue.class.getName()); private List<String> queue = new ArrayList<String>(); private boolean available = true; @Resource TimerService timerService; @Schedule(persistent=true, minute="*", second="*/5", hour="*") public void checkQueueState() { logger.log(Level.INFO,"Queue state check: "+available+" size: "+queue.size()+", "+new Date()); if (available) { timerService.createSingleActionTimer(new Date(), new TimerConfig(null, false)); } } @Timeout private void generateReport(Timer timer) { logger.info("!!--timeout invoked here "+new Date()); available = false; try { Thread.sleep(1000*60*2); // something that lasts for a bit } catch (Exception e) {} available = true; logger.info("New report generation complete"); } What am I missing here or should I try different aproach? Any ideas most welcome :) Testing with Glassfish 3.0.1 latest build - forgot to mention

  • How to set logging level for JDBCDriverLogging

    - by Scott
    I am trying to change the logging level to stop showing millions of this: <May 26, 2010 10:26:02 AM EDT> <Debug> <JDBCDriverLogging> <000000> <2336: 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 | |> I have tried adding this to my java line: -Djava.util.logging.config.file=/foo/bar/logging.properties With this as my logging.properties file: handlers = java.util.logging.ConsoleHandler .level = OFF java.util.logging.ConsoleHandler.level = INFO No luck. I have tried this: Logger logger = Logger.getLogger("com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc"); Handler handler = new ConsoleHandler(); handler.setLevel(Level.INFO); logger.addHandler(handler); logger.setLevel(Level.INFO); logger.setUseParentHandlers(false); No luck. I have searched around and all ideas center around one of these two options, so I must be doing something else wrong I am using jtds-1.2.2.jar. Thanks for any suggestions.

  • Python logging in Django

    - by Jeff
    I'm developing a Django app, and I'm trying to use Python's logging module for error/trace logging. Ideally I'd like to have different loggers configured for different areas of the site. So far I've got all of this working, but one thing has me scratching my head. I have the root logger going to sys.stderr, and I have configured another logger to write to a file. This is in my settings.py file: sviewlog = logging.getLogger('MyApp.views.scans') view_log_handler = logging.FileHandler('C:\\MyApp\\logs\\scan_log.log') view_log_handler.setLevel(logging.INFO) view_log_handler.setFormatter(logging.Formatter('%(asctime)s %(name)-12s %(levelname)-8s %(message)s')) sviewlog.addHandler(view_log_handler) Seems pretty simple. Here's the problem, though: whatever I write to the sviewlog gets written to the log file twice. The root logger only prints it once. It's like addHandler() is being called twice. And when I put my code through a debugger, this is exactly what I see. The code in settings.py is getting executed twice, so two FileHandlers are created and added to the same logger instance. But why? And how do I get around this? Can anyone tell me what's going on here? I've tried moving the sviewlog logger/handler instantiation code to the file where it's used (since that actually seems like the appropriate place to me), but I have the same problem there. Most of the examples I've seen online use only the root logger, and I'd prefer to have multiple loggers.

    Hello! I have a class in c++ in order to write log files for an application of mine. I have already built the class and it works, it is something like this: class Logger { std::string _filename; public: void print(std::string tobeprinted); } Well, it is intuitive that, in order to print a line in the log file, for an object of Logger, it is simply necessary to do the following: Logger mylogger("myfile.log"); mylogger.print(std::string("This is a log line")); Well. Using a method approach is not the same as using a much better pattern like << is. I would like to do the following: Logger mylogger("myfile.log"); mylogger << "This is a log line"; That's all. I suppose I must overload the << operator... But overloading using this signature (the classic one): ostream& operator<<(ostream& output, const MyObj& o); But I do not have a ostream... So, should I do as follows? Logger& operator<<(Logger& output, const std::string& o); Is this the right way? Thanks

  • How can i get more user debug logging related to kerberos for alfresco?

    - by Maarten
    I am running alfresco community edition 3.4c on a debian linux. I have problems getting the kerberos authentication in order. The biggest problem is that do not seem to have any sort of user logs. what i am using already: log4j.logger.org.alfresco.web.app.servlet.KerberosAuthenticationFilter=debug log4j.logger.org.alfresco.repo.webdav.auth.KerberosAuthenticationFilter=debug log4j.logger.org.alfresco.smb.protocol=debug log4j.logger.org.alfresco.fileserver=debug I've also checked if the users actually reach the server, and they do, (also on a linux firefox outside of domain, i seem to be able to log in). Can anyone help me get more user logging?

  • Running python script in incrontab in Debian

    - by WilliamMayor
    I have a user, dropbox, that runs the Dropbox daemon, I want to monitor the directories in the Dropbox directory for new files and run a python script when they appear. I have the python script that I know works: $ /home/dropbox/monitor.py Trying to get lock Got lock, waiting for Dropbox to be idle Dropbox idle Finding instructions Done, releasing lock I have an incrontab entry: $ incrontab -l /home/dropbox/Dropbox IN_CREATE /home/dropbox/monitor.py | logger /home/dropbox/test IN_CREATE logger "$$ $@ $# $% $&" When I add a file to the test directory I see the output in /var/log/syslog: $ touch /home/dropbox/test/a $ tail /var/log/syslog ... Nov 9 10:18:27 vps incrond[1354]: (dropbox) CMD (logger "$ /home/dropbox/test a IN_CREATE 256") Nov 9 10:18:27 vps logger: "$ /home/dropbox/test a IN_CREATE 256" ... However, when I add a file to the Dropbox directory the command doesn't seem to run: $ touch /home/dropbox/Dropbox/a $ tail /var/log/syslog ... Nov 9 10:24:16 vps incrond[1354]: (dropbox) CMD (/home/dropbox/monitor.py | logger) ... So the incron daemon notices the new file and the correct command is found to be executed but it never actually gets executed. Nor are there any error messages. It kind of seems like incrontab can only be used to run the most simple of commands. This might be a similar question to: Incrond running but not executing commands CentOS 6.4 but I think that I don't have env problems, every path is absolute. I tried changing .../monitor.py to /usr/bin/python2.7 .../monitor.py just in case but it didn't make any difference.

    When I try to create a Webservice from Eclipse, the log4j-1.2.8.jar which is configured in the project's build path just gets deleted, and when I try to invoke the Webservice it gives error as below: 2014-06-05 11:47:48,742 ERROR ServiceRequester:55 - RemoteException 2014-06-05 11:47:48,742 ERROR ServiceRequester:56 - ------ AxisFault faultCode: {http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/}Server.generalException faultSubcode: faultString: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/log4j/Logger; nested ex ception is: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/log4j/Logger faultActor: faultNode: faultDetail: {http://xml.apache.org/axis/}hostname:INPUSCPC07719 java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/log4j/Logger; nested exception is: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/log4j/Logger We also tried to place this jar to a different path than where the project is located, but it still delete this jar from that path too. • Automatically create bug resolution task using the TFS 2010 API

    - by Bob Hardister
    My customer requires bug resolution to be approved and tracked.  To minimize the overhead for developers I implemented a TFS 2010 server-side plug-in to automatically create a child resolution task for the bug when the “CCB” field is set to approved. The CCB field is a custom field.  I also added the story points field to the bug WIT for sizing purposes. Redundant tasks will not be created unless the bug title is changed or the prior task is closed. The program writes an audit trail to a log file visible in the TFS Admin Console Log view. Here’s the code. BugAutoTask.cs /* SPECIFICATION * When the CCB field on the bug is set to approved, create a child task where the task: * name = Resolve bug [ID] - [Title of bug] * assigned to = same as assigned to field on the bug * same area path * same iteration path * activity = Bug Resolution * original estimate = bug points * * The source code is used to build a dll (Ows.TeamFoundation.BugAutoTaskCreation.PlugIns.dll), * which needs to be copied to * C:\Program Files\Microsoft Team Foundation Server 2010\Application Tier\Web Services\bin\Plugins * on ALL TFS application-tier servers. * * Author: Bob Hardister. */ using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.IO; using System.Xml; using System.Text; using System.Diagnostics; using System.Linq; using Microsoft.TeamFoundation.Common; using Microsoft.TeamFoundation.Framework.Server; using Microsoft.TeamFoundation.WorkItemTracking.Client; using Microsoft.TeamFoundation.WorkItemTracking.Server; using Microsoft.TeamFoundation.Client; using System.Collections; namespace BugAutoTaskCreation { public class BugAutoTask : ISubscriber { public EventNotificationStatus ProcessEvent(TeamFoundationRequestContext requestContext, NotificationType notificationType, object notificationEventArgs, out int statusCode, out string statusMessage, out ExceptionPropertyCollection properties) { statusCode = 0; properties = null; statusMessage = String.Empty; // Error message for for tracing last code executed and optional fields string lastStep = "No field values found or set "; try { if ((notificationType == NotificationType.Notification) && (notificationEventArgs.GetType() == typeof(WorkItemChangedEvent))) { WorkItemChangedEvent workItemChange = (WorkItemChangedEvent)notificationEventArgs; // see ConnectToTFS() method below to select which TFS instance/collection // to connect to TfsTeamProjectCollection tfs = ConnectToTFS(); WorkItemStore wiStore = tfs.GetService<WorkItemStore>(); lastStep = lastStep + ": connection to TFS successful "; // Get the work item that was just changed by the user. • How to deal with elimination of duplicate logic vs. cost of complexity increase?

    I just wrote some code that is very representative of a recurring theme (in my coding world lately): repeated logic leads to an instinct to eliminate duplication which results in something that is more complex the tradeoff seems wrong to me (the examples of the negative side aren't worth posting - but this is probably the 20th console utility I've written in the past 12 months). I'm curious if I'm missing some techniques or if this is really just on of those "experience tells you when to do what" type of issues. Here's the code... I'm tempted to leave it as is, even though there will be about 20 of those if-blocks when I'm done. static void Main(string[] sargs) { try { var urls = new DirectTrackRestUrls(); var restCall = new DirectTrackRestCall(); var logger = new ConsoleLogger(); Args args = (Args)Enum.Parse(typeof(Args), string.Join(",", sargs)); if (args.HasFlag(Args.Campaigns)) { var getter = new ResourceGetter(logger, urls.ListAdvertisers, restCall); restCall.UriVariables.Add("access_id", 1); getter.GotResource += new ResourceGetter.GotResourceEventHandler(getter_GotResource); getter.GetResources(); SaveResources(); } if (args.HasFlag(Args.Advertisers)) { var getter = new ResourceGetter(logger, urls.ListAdvertisers, restCall); restCall.UriVariables.Add("access_id", 1); getter.GotResource += new ResourceGetter.GotResourceEventHandler(getter_GotResource); getter.GetResources(); SaveResources(); } if (args.HasFlag(Args.CampaignGroups)) { var getter = new ResourceGetter(logger, urls.ListCampaignGroups, restCall); getter.GotResource += new ResourceGetter.GotResourceEventHandler(getter_GotResource); getter.GetResources(); SaveResources(); } } catch (Exception e) { Console.WriteLine(e.InnerException); Console.WriteLine(e.StackTrace); }

    i have an update server that sends client updates through TCP port 12000, the sending of a single file is successful only the first time, but after that i get an error message on the server "Unable to write data to the transport connection: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host", if i restart the update service on the server, it works again only one, i have normal multithreaded windows service SERVER CODE namespace WSTSAU { public partial class ApplicationUpdater : ServiceBase { private Logger logger = LogManager.GetCurrentClassLogger(); private int _listeningPort; private int _ApplicationReceivingPort; private string _setupFilename; private string _startupPath; public ApplicationUpdater() { InitializeComponent(); } protected override void OnStart(string[] args) { init(); logger.Info("after init"); Thread ListnerThread = new Thread(new ThreadStart(StartListener)); ListnerThread.IsBackground = true; ListnerThread.Start(); logger.Info("after thread start"); } private void init() { _listeningPort = Convert.ToInt16(ConfigurationSettings.AppSettings["ListeningPort"]); _setupFilename = ConfigurationSettings.AppSettings["SetupFilename"]; _startupPath = System.IO.Path.GetDirectoryName(System.Reflection.Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly().GetName().CodeBase).Substring(6); } private void StartListener() { try { logger.Info("Listening Started"); ThreadPool.SetMinThreads(50, 50); TcpListener listener = new TcpListener(_listeningPort); listener.Start(); while (true) { TcpClient c = listener.AcceptTcpClient(); ThreadPool.QueueUserWorkItem(ProcessReceivedMessage, c); } } catch (Exception ex) { logger.Error(ex.Message); } } void ProcessReceivedMessage(object c) { try { TcpClient tcpClient = c as TcpClient; NetworkStream Networkstream = tcpClient.GetStream(); byte[] _data = new byte[1024]; int _bytesRead = 0; _bytesRead = Networkstream.Read(_data, 0, _data.Length); MessageContainer messageContainer = new MessageContainer(); messageContainer = SerializationManager.XmlFormatterByteArrayToObject(_data, messageContainer) as MessageContainer; switch (messageContainer.messageType) { case MessageType.ApplicationUpdateMessage: ApplicationUpdateMessage appUpdateMessage = new ApplicationUpdateMessage(); appUpdateMessage = SerializationManager.XmlFormatterByteArrayToObject(messageContainer.messageContnet, appUpdateMessage) as ApplicationUpdateMessage; Func<ApplicationUpdateMessage, bool> HandleUpdateRequestMethod = HandleUpdateRequest; IAsyncResult cookie = HandleUpdateRequestMethod.BeginInvoke(appUpdateMessage, null, null); bool WorkerThread = HandleUpdateRequestMethod.EndInvoke(cookie); break; } } catch (Exception ex) { logger.Error(ex.Message); } } private bool HandleUpdateRequest(ApplicationUpdateMessage appUpdateMessage) { try { TcpClient tcpClient = new TcpClient(); NetworkStream networkStream; FileStream fileStream = null; tcpClient.Connect(appUpdateMessage.receiverIpAddress, appUpdateMessage.receiverPortNumber); networkStream = tcpClient.GetStream(); fileStream = new FileStream(_startupPath + "\\" + _setupFilename, FileMode.Open, FileAccess.Read); FileInfo fi = new FileInfo(_startupPath + "\\" + _setupFilename); BinaryReader binFile = new BinaryReader(fileStream); FileUpdateMessage fileUpdateMessage = new FileUpdateMessage(); fileUpdateMessage.fileName = fi.Name; fileUpdateMessage.fileSize = fi.Length; MessageContainer messageContainer = new MessageContainer(); messageContainer.messageType = MessageType.FileProperties; messageContainer.messageContnet = SerializationManager.XmlFormatterObjectToByteArray(fileUpdateMessage); byte[] messageByte = SerializationManager.XmlFormatterObjectToByteArray(messageContainer); networkStream.Write(messageByte, 0, messageByte.Length); int bytesSize = 0; byte[] downBuffer = new byte[2048]; while ((bytesSize = fileStream.Read(downBuffer, 0, downBuffer.Length)) > 0) { networkStream.Write(downBuffer, 0, bytesSize); } fileStream.Close(); tcpClient.Close(); networkStream.Close(); return true; } catch (Exception ex) { logger.Info(ex.Message); return false; } finally { } } protected override void OnStop() { } } i have to note something that my windows service (server) is multithreaded.. i hope anyone can help with this

  • Log4j: Events appear in the wrong logfile

    - by Markus
    Hi there! To be able to log and trace some events I've added a LoggingHandler class to my java project. Inside this class I'm using two different log4j logger instances - one for logging an event and one for tracing an event into different files. The initialization block of the class looks like this: public void initialize() { System.out.print("starting logging server ..."); // create logger instances logLogger = Logger.getLogger("log"); traceLogger = Logger.getLogger("trace"); // create pattern layout String conversionPattern = "%c{2} %d{ABSOLUTE} %r %p %m%n"; try { patternLayout = new PatternLayout(); patternLayout.setConversionPattern(conversionPattern); } catch (Exception e) { System.out.println("error: could not create logger layout pattern"); System.out.println(e); System.exit(1); } // add pattern to file appender try { logFileAppender = new FileAppender(patternLayout, logFilename, false); traceFileAppender = new FileAppender(patternLayout, traceFilename, false); } catch (IOException e) { System.out.println("error: could not add logger layout pattern to corresponding appender"); System.out.println(e); System.exit(1); } // add appenders to loggers logLogger.addAppender(logFileAppender); traceLogger.addAppender(traceFileAppender); // set logger level logLogger.setLevel(Level.INFO); traceLogger.setLevel(Level.INFO); // start logging server loggingServer = new LoggingServer(logLogger, traceLogger, serverPort, this); loggingServer.start(); System.out.println(" done"); } To make sure that only only thread is using the functionality of a logger instance at the same time each logging / tracing method calls the logging method .info() inside a synchronized-block. One example looks like this: public void logMessage(String message) { synchronized (logLogger) { if (logLogger.isInfoEnabled() && logFileAppender != null) { logLogger.info(instanceName + ": " + message); } } } If I look at the log files, I see that sometimes a event appears in the wrong file. One example: trace 10:41:30,773 11080 INFO masterControl(192.168.2.21): string broadcast message was pushed from 1267093 to vehicle 1055293 (slaveControl 1) trace 10:41:30,784 11091 INFO masterControl(192.168.2.21): string broadcast message was pushed from 1156513 to vehicle 1105792 (slaveControl 1) trace 10:41:30,796 11103 INFO masterControl(192.168.2.21): string broadcast message was pushed from 1104306 to vehicle 1055293 (slaveControl 1) trace 10:41:30,808 11115 INFO masterControl(192.168.2.21): vehicle 1327879 was pushed to slave control 1 10:41:30,808 11115 INFO masterControl(192.168.2.21): string broadcast message was pushed from 1101572 to vehicle 106741 (slaveControl 1) trace 10:41:30,820 11127 INFO masterControl(192.168.2.21): string broadcast message was pushed from 1055293 to vehicle 1104306 (slaveControl 1) I think that the problem occures everytime two event happen at the same time (here: 10:41:30,808). Does anybody has an idea how to solve my problem? I already tried to add a sleep() after the method call, but that doesn't helped ... BR, Markus Edit: logtrace 11:16:07,75511:16:07,755 1129711297 INFOINFO masterControl(192.168.2.21): string broadcast message was pushed from 1291400 to vehicle 1138272 (slaveControl 1)masterControl(192.168.2.21): vehicle 1333770 was added to slave control 1 or log 11:16:08,562 12104 INFO 11:16:08,562 masterControl(192.168.2.21): string broadcast message was pushed from 117772 to vehicle 1217744 (slaveControl 1) 12104 INFO masterControl(192.168.2.21): vehicle 1169775 was pushed to slave control 1 Edit 2: It seems like the problem only occurs if logging methods are called from inside a RMI thread (my client / server exchange information using RMI connections). ... Edit 3: I solved the problem by myself: It seems like log4j is NOT completely thread-save. After synchronizing all log / trace methods using a separate object everything is working fine. Maybe the lib is writing the messages to a thread-unsafe buffer before writing them to file?

  • Debugging "Premature end of script headers" - WSGI/Django [migrated]

    - by Marcin
    I have recently deployed an app to a shared host (webfaction), and for no apparent reason, my site will not load at all (it worked until today). It is a django app, but the django.log is not even created; the only clue is that in one of the logs, I get the error message: "Premature end of script headers", identifying my wsgi file as the source. I've tried to add logging to my wsgi file, but I can't find any log created for it. Is there any recommended way to debug this error? I am on the point of tearing my hair out. My WSGI file: import os import sys from django.core.handlers.wsgi import WSGIHandler import logging logger = logging.getLogger(__name__) os.environ['DJANGO_SETTINGS_MODULE'] = 'settings' os.environ['CELERY_LOADER'] = 'django' virtenv = os.path.expanduser("~/webapps/django/oneclickcosvirt/") activate_this = virtenv + "bin/activate_this.py" execfile(activate_this, dict(__file__=activate_this)) # if 'VIRTUAL_ENV' not in os.environ: # os.environ['VIRTUAL_ENV'] = virtenv sys.path.append(os.path.dirname(virtenv+'oneclickcos/')) logger.debug('About to run WSGIHandler') try: application = WSGIHandler() except (Exception,), e: logger.debug('Exception starting wsgihandler: %s' % e) raise e

  • How do you go about checking your open source libraries for keystroke loggers?

    - by asd
    A random person on the internet told me that a technology was secure(1), safe to use and didn't contain keyloggers because it is open source. While I can trivially detect the key stroke logger in this open source application, what can developers(2) do to protect themselves against rouge committers to open source projects? Doing a back of the envelope threat analysis, if I were a rogue developer, I'd fork a branch on git and promote it's download since it would have twitter support (and a secret key stroke logger). If it was an SVN repo, I'd create just create a new project. Even better would be to put the malicious code in the automatic update routines. (1) I won't mention which because I can only deal with one kind of zealot at a time. (2) Ordinary users are at the mercy of their virus and malware detection software-- it's absurd to expect grandma to read the source of code of their open source word processor's source code to find the keystroke logger.

  • Class initialization issues loading java.util.LogManager in Android Dalvik VM

    - by Freddy B. Rose
    I've done changes in an Android native library and installed a new system.img file but am now getting an unrelated Error on startup. I can get past it by swallowing the error but I wanted to know if anyone can explain what the issue is. The Android implementation of Logger.java claims that it is Forcing the LogManager to be initialized since its class init code performs necessary one-time setup. But this forced initialization results in a NoClassDefFoundError. I'm thinking that it has something to do with the class not having been preloaded by Zygote yet but am not that familiar with the whole class loaders and VM business. If anyone has some insight it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. I/Zygote ( 1253): Preloading classes...
