  • Nested fragments survive screen rotation

    - by ievgen
    I've faced with an issue with Nested Fragments in Android. When I rotate the screen the Nested Fragments survive somehow. I've come up with a sample example to illustrate this issue. public class ParentFragment extends BaseFragment { @Override public View onCreateView(LayoutInflater inflater, ViewGroup container, Bundle savedInstanceState) { return inflater.inflate(R.layout.fragment_parent, container); } @Override public void onViewCreated(View view, Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onViewCreated(view, savedInstanceState); getChildFragmentManager() .beginTransaction() .add(getId(), new ParentFragmentChild(), ParentFragmentChild.class.getName()) .commit(); } @Override public void onResume() { super.onResume(); log.verbose("onResume(), numChildFragments: " + getChildFragmentManager().getFragments().size()); } } public class ParentFragmentChild extends BaseFragment { @Override public View onCreateView(LayoutInflater inflater, ViewGroup container, Bundle savedInstanceState) { return inflater.inflate(R.layout.fragment_child, null); } } BaseFragment just logs method calls. This is what I see when I rotate the screen. When Activity initially appears ParentFragment? onAttach(): ParentFragment{420d0a98 #0 id=0x7f060064} ParentFragment? onCreate() ParentFragment? onViewCreated() ParentFragmentChild? onAttach(): ParentFragmentChild{420d08d0 #0 id=0x7f060064 com.kinoteatr.ua.filmgoer.test.ParentFragmentChild} ParentFragmentChild? onCreate() ParentFragmentChild? onViewCreated() ParentFragment? onResume() ParentFragment? onResume(), numChildFragments: 1 ParentFragmentChild? onResume() Screen rotation #1 ParentFragmentChild? onPause() ParentFragment? onPause() ParentFragment? onSaveInstanceState() ParentFragmentChild? onSaveInstanceState() ParentFragmentChild? onStop() ParentFragment? onStop() ParentFragmentChild? onDestroyView() ParentFragment? onDestroyView() ParentFragmentChild? onDestroy() ParentFragmentChild? onDetach() ParentFragment? onDestroy() ParentFragment? onDetach() ParentFragment? onAttach(): ParentFragment{4211bc38 #0 id=0x7f060064} ParentFragment? onCreate() ParentFragmentChild? onAttach(): ParentFragmentChild{420f4180 #0 id=0x7f060064 com.kinoteatr.ua.filmgoer.test.ParentFragmentChild} ParentFragmentChild? onCreate() ParentFragment? onViewCreated() ParentFragmentChild? onViewCreated() ParentFragmentChild? onAttach(): ParentFragmentChild{42132a08 #1 id=0x7f060064 com.kinoteatr.ua.filmgoer.test.ParentFragmentChild} ParentFragmentChild? onCreate() ParentFragmentChild? onViewCreated() ParentFragment? onResume() ParentFragment? onResume(), numChildFragments: 2 ParentFragmentChild? onResume() ParentFragmentChild? onResume() Screen rotation #2 ParentFragmentChild? onPause() ParentFragmentChild? onPause() ParentFragment? onPause() ParentFragment? onSaveInstanceState() ParentFragmentChild? onSaveInstanceState() ParentFragmentChild? onSaveInstanceState() ParentFragmentChild? onStop() ParentFragmentChild? onStop() ParentFragment? onStop() ParentFragmentChild? onDestroyView() ParentFragmentChild? onDestroyView() ParentFragment? onDestroyView() ParentFragmentChild? onDestroy() ParentFragmentChild? onDetach() ParentFragmentChild? onDestroy() ParentFragmentChild? onDetach() ParentFragment? onDestroy() ParentFragment? onDetach() ParentFragment? onAttach(): ParentFragment{42122a48 #0 id=0x7f060064} ParentFragment? onCreate() ParentFragmentChild? onAttach(): ParentFragmentChild{420ffd48 #0 id=0x7f060064 com.kinoteatr.ua.filmgoer.test.ParentFragmentChild} ParentFragmentChild? onCreate() ParentFragmentChild? onAttach(): ParentFragmentChild{420fffa0 #1 id=0x7f060064 com.kinoteatr.ua.filmgoer.test.ParentFragmentChild} ParentFragmentChild? onCreate() ParentFragment? onViewCreated() ParentFragmentChild? onViewCreated() ParentFragmentChild? onViewCreated() ParentFragmentChild? onAttach(): ParentFragmentChild{42101488 #2 id=0x7f060064 com.kinoteatr.ua.filmgoer.test.ParentFragmentChild} ParentFragmentChild? onCreate() ParentFragmentChild? onViewCreated() ParentFragment? onResume() ParentFragment? onResume(), numChildFragments: 3 ParentFragmentChild? onResume() ParentFragmentChild? onResume() ParentFragmentChild? onResume() They keep getting multiplied. • jquery: nested tags and hover() not working in IE

    - by mafka
    hello folks! i have a construction like this: <div id="container"> <span> <span></span> </span> <span> <span></span> </span> </div> i need to catch the mouseout event of the container, so i made jquery do this: $("#container").hover('',function(){ alert("Out"); }); In Firefox / Opera, it only fires the mouseout-function when leaving the div (how I want it). In IE it fires the mouseout-function at every -Tag inside of the div the mouse hits. (maybe important is, that the span tags have also mouseover and out events) Anyone has an idea how to solve this? (The nested structure cant be changed because a complex layout) thx4 any ideas!

  • Select lowest nested selector when clicked

    - by rikAtee
    I would like to click $('.sub-menu') selector and return the lowerst nested item that was clicked, rather than the highest. e.g., when I click "enlish", "root" is returned becasue "english" is a child of "root". I want "english" returned when I select "english". <div ID="browse_container"> <div class="sub-menu">Root <div class="sub-menu">English</div> <div class="sub-menu">Maths <div class="sub-menu">Year 1</div> <div class="sub-menu">Year 2</div> </div> <div class="sub-menu">? Science</div> </div> </div> my script is simply: $('.sub-menu, #root').on('click', function(event){ alert($(this).text()) });

  • Nested form child only updates if parent changes.

    - by chap
    In this video (10 sec) you can see that the nested attribute is only updated if it's parent model is changed. Using rails 3.0.0.beta and full project is on github. Summary of models and form: class Project < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :tasks accepts_nested_attributes_for :tasks end class Task < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :project has_many :assignments accepts_nested_attributes_for :assignments end class Assignment < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :task end form_for(@project) do |f| Project: f.text_field :name f.fields_for :tasks do |task_form| Task: task_form.text_field :name task_form.fields_for :assignments do |assignment_form| Assignment: assignment_form.text_field :name end end f.submit end

  • problems with build params for accepts_nested_attributes_for

    - by holden
    I'm trying to add the user_id to a nested attribute that gets built by a parent controller but it doesn't seem to have the desired effect? Ie. I have a model called Place.rb which accepts_nested_attributes_for :reviews The nested attribute works fine and I build it inside the Places controller like so... @review = @place.reviews.build(:user_id => current_user.id) I was previously adding the user thru the form, but would like to do it thru the controller so that it only adds the user_id on creation, as it might get updated by someone else and i don't want the update changing the user_id... old way which works: <%= e.label :content, "Review" %><br /> <%= e.text_area :content, :rows => 20, :class => 'jquery_ckeditor' %><br /> <%= e.hidden_field :user_id, :value => current_user.id %> but thru the controller the build method with options has no effect? Any ideas? Can I not do this thru the build?

  • Nested forms and automatic creation of parent, children

    - by Karen
    Guys, I was wondering if it was possible to create new parent, children in a has many relationship, using rails nested forms. Rails documentation clearly says that this works in a one to one relationship. Not sure if its the same in has many relationship. For example: If params = { :employee => { :name => "Tester", :account_attributes => {:login => 'tester'} } } works as one to one relationship. So Employee.new(params) works fine. New employee, account are created. Supposing I had params = { :employee => { :name => "Tester", :account_attributes => { "0" => {:login => 'tester'}, "1" => {:login => 'tester2'} } } } Employee.new(params) doesnt work. It fails on child validations saying parent cant be blank. Any help is appreciated. Thanks Karen

  • Nested Object Forms not working as expected

    - by Craig Walker
    I'm trying to get a nested model forms view working. As far as I can tell I'm doing everything right, but it still does not work. I'm on Rails 3 beta 3. My models are as expected: class Recipe < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :ingredients, :dependent => :destroy accepts_nested_attributes_for :ingredients attr_accessible :name end class Ingredient < ActiveRecord::Base attr_accessible :name, :sort_order, :amount belongs_to :recipe end I can use Recipe.ingredients_attributes= as expected: recipe = Recipe.new recipe.ingredients_attributes = [ {:name=>"flour", :amount=>"1 cup"}, {:name=>"sugar", :amount=>"2 cups"}] recipe.ingredients.size # -> 2; ingredients contains expected instances However, I cannot create new object graphs using a hash of parameters as shown in the documentation: params = { :name => "test", :ingredients_attributes => [ {:name=>"flour", :amount=>"1 cup"}, {:name=>"sugar", :amount=>"2 cups"}] } recipe = Recipe.new(params) recipe.name # -> "test" recipe.ingredients # -> []; no ingredient instances in the collection Is there something I'm doing wrong here? Or is there a problem in the Rails 3 beta?

  • nested include in php

    - by aeonsleo
    The directory structure: C:/wamp/www/application/model/data_access/data_object.php C:/wamp/www/application/model/users/user.class.php C:/wamp/www/application/controller/projects.php C:/wamp/www/application/controller/links/links.php I have 2 php files data_object.php and user.class.php Now user.class.php has an include statement for data_object.php wchih is relative to user.class.php.These two files are under different directory hierarchy. Now I have to include this user.class.php in various files (like projects.php, links.php-which themselves are under different hierarchy) whenever i want to create a User() object. The problem is the relative path for file inclusion of data_object.php does work for say projects.php but if i open links.php the error message says it could not open file data_object.php in user.class.php. What i think is for relative inclusion of data_object.php it is considering the path of the file in which user.class.php is included. I am facing such problems in more than one scenarios I have to keep my directory structure the way it is but have to find a way to work with nested includes. I used Document root of session it give root path as C:/wamp/www/ i appended the path for data_object.php include but this is not working. (note: the forward slash is present after www) I am currently running on wamp server's localhost but after completion i have to host the solution on a domain. Pls help

  • MySQL nested set hierarchy with foreign table

    - by Björn
    Hi! I'm using a nested set in a MySQL table to describe a hierarchy of categories, and an additional table describing products. Category table; id name left right Products table; id categoryId name How can I retrieve the full path, containing all parent categories, of a product? I.e.: RootCategory > SubCategory 1 > SubCategory 2 > ... > SubCategory n > Product Say for example that I want to list all products from SubCategory1 and it's sub categories, and with each given Product I want the full tree path to that product - is this possible? This is as far as I've got - but the structure is not quite right... select parent.`name` as name, parent.`id` as id, group_concat(parent.`name` separator '/') as path from categories as node, categories as parent, (select inode.`id` as id, inode.`name` as name from categories as inode, categories as iparent where inode.`lft` between iparent.`lft` and iparent.`rgt` and iparent.`id`=4 /* The category from which to list products */ order by inode.`lft`) as sub where node.`lft` between parent.`lft` and parent.`rgt` and node.`id`=sub.`id` group by sub.`id` order by node.`lft`

  • Problem with Railscast #197 - Nested Model Form Part 2

    - by sscirrus
    I'm trying to implement Ryan's Railscast #197 in a system with Questions, Answers, and (multiple choice) Options. http://railscasts.com/episodes/197-nested-model-form-part-2. I have successfully implemented the nesting among these forms/partials. The simpler 'check box' way to delete records works properly. The problem occurs when I try to add/delete records. I have copied the code exactly as it appears in his Railscast: #new.html.erb <%= javascript_include_tag :defaults, :cache => true %> <% f.fields_for :in_options do |builder| %> <%= render "option_fields", :f => builder %> <% end %> #_option_fields.html.erb partial <%= f.hidden_field :_destroy %> <%= link_to_function "remove", "remove_fields(this)" %> #application_helper.rb (exact same as #197) def link_to_remove_fields(name, f) f.hidden_field(:_destroy) + link_to_function(name, "remove_fields(this)") end def link_to_add_fields(name, f, association) new_object = f.object.class.reflect_on_association(association).klass.new fields = f.fields_for(association, new_object, :child_index => "new_#{association}") do |builder| render(association.to_s.singularize + "_fields", :f => builder) end link_to_function(name, h("add_fields(this, \"#{association}\", \"#{escape_javascript(fields)}\")")) end #application.js (exact same as #197. I have an Event.addbehavior below this code.) function remove_fields(link) { $(link).previous("input[type=hidden]").value = "1"; $(link).up(".fields").hide(); } function add_fields(link, association, content) { var new_id = new Date().getTime(); var regexp = new RegExp("new_" + association, "g") $(link).up().insert({ before: content.replace(regexp, new_id) }); } 2 problems: When I click on the 'remove' link it doesn't remove - it just shifts the page up or down. When I include link_to_add_fields "Add Answer", f, :answers, I get undefined method `klass' for nil:NilClass. Thanks everyone.

  • Problem accessing variable in a nested form partial

    - by brad
    I have a nested form in a rails view that is called like this <% f.fields_for :invoice_item_numbers do |item_no_form| %> <%= render 'invoice_item_number', :f => item_no_form %> <% end %> and the partial (_invoice_item_number.html.erb) looks like this <div class='invoice_item_numbers'> <% if f.object.new_record? %> <li><%= f.label :item_number %><%= f.text_field :item_number %> <%= link_to_function "remove", "$(this).parent().remove()", :class => 'remove_link' %></li> <% else %> <li class="inline"><%= f.label :item_number %><%= f.text_field :item_number %> </li><li class="inline"><%= f.label :description %><%= invoice_item_number.description %></li><li><%= f.label :amount %><%= f.text_field :amount %> <%= f.check_box '_destroy', :class => 'remove_checkbox' %> <%= f.label '_destroy', 'remove', :class => 'remove_label' %></li> <% end %> </div> This fails with the error message undefined method `description' for nil:NilClass Why does invoice_item_number return a nil object in this partial? It is obviously being defined somehow because if I change it to something else (e.g. item_number.description then the error message becomes undefined local variable or methoditem_number' for #instead. The invoice_item_number object that is being displayed by this partial is being used perfectly well by the form helpers as<%= f.text_field :item_number %and<% f.text_field :amount %both work perfectly well. I have tried a number of solutions such as using@invoice_item_number` and explicitly defining an object in the render method but these have not worked. Presumably there is a very simple answer to this.

  • Is nested synchronized block necessary?

    - by Dan
    I am writing a multithreaded program and I have a method that has a nested synchronized blocks and I was wondering if I need the inner sync or if just the outer sync is good enough. public class Tester { private BlockingQueue<Ticket> q = new LinkedBlockingQueue<>(); private ArrayList<Long> list = new ArrayList<>(); public void acceptTicket(Ticket p) { try { synchronized (q) { q.put(p); synchronized (list) { if (list.size() < 5) { list.add(p.getSize()); } else { list.remove(0); list.add(p.getSize()); } } } } catch (InterruptedException ex) { Logger.getLogger(Consumer.class.getName()).log(Level.SEVERE, null, ex); } } } EDIT: This isn't a complete class as I am still working on it. But essentially I am trying to emulate a ticket machine. The ticket machine maintains a list of tickets in the BlockingQueue q. Whenever a client adds a ticket to the machine, the machine also keeps track of the price of the last 5 tickets (ArrayList list)

  • How to render all records from a nested set into a real html tree

    - by Christoph Schiessl
    I'm using the awesome_nested_set plugin in my Rails project. I have two models that look like this (simplified): class Customer < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :categories end class Category < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :customer # Columns in the categories table: lft, rgt and parent_id acts_as_nested_set :scope => :customer_id validates_presence_of :name # Further validations... end The tree in the database is constructed as expected. All the values of parent_id, lft and rgt are correct. The tree has multiple root nodes (which is of course allowed in awesome_nested_set). Now, I want to render all categories of a given customer in a correctly sorted tree like structure: for example nested <ul> tags. This wouldn't be too difficult but I need it to be efficient (the less sql queries the better). Update: Figured out that it is possible to calculate the number of children for any given Node in the tree without further SQL queries: number_of_children = (node.rgt - node.lft - 1)/2. This doesn't solve the problem but it may prove to be helpful.

  • Nested IF statements in Excel [Over the 7 allowed limit]

    - by Alks
    hey guys, i am trying to create a spreadsheet which automagically gives a grade to a student based on their marks they got. I've apparently hit excels nested IF statement limit which is 7. here's my if statement: =IF(O5>0.895,"A+",IF(O5>0.845,"A",IF(O5>0.795,"A-",IF(O5>0.745,"B+",IF(O5>0.695,"B",IF(O5>0.645,"B-",IF(O5>0.595,"C+",IF(O5>0.545,"C","D")))))))) I was reading online that I could create a VBA script and assign it that, but I dont know anything about VBA....so if someone could help me write a VBA for this, would be awesome. Its still mising the C- grade and anything lower should be awarded a D mark. This is the grading scheme I am trying to create...: A+ 89.500 - 100.000 Pass with Distinction A 84.500 - 89.490 Pass with Distinction A- 79.500 - 84.490 Pass with Distinction B+ 74.500 - 79.490 Pass with Merit B 69.500 - 74.490 Pass with Merit B- 64.500 - 69.490 Pass with Merit C+ 59.500 - 64.490 Pass C 54.500 - 59.490 Pass C- 49.500 - 54.490 Pass D 0.000 - 49.490 Specified Fail I wouldn't mind going down the VBA route, however my understanding of VB language is absolutely minimal (don't like it)...if this gets too tedious, I was thinking to create a small php/mysql application instead. Cheers :)

  • Use jQuery's dataTable plugin with a nested Ajax call

    - by mrr0ng
    I am trying to use a nested ajax call to populate a table, and once the table is built, use jQuery's dataTable plugin to pretty it up. The problem I am running into is an order of operations question. When do I call the dataTable function so that I can be assured that the table is built AFTER the values are populated? When I try the following code, the dataTable is created before the rows are built. <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { $.ajax({ url:"http://totalrockregistration.com/feeds/bands.php", dataType:"jsonp", success: function(jsonData){ $.each(jsonData.bands, function(i,bands){ if (bands.barID == "<?php echo $_GET["barID"]; ?>"){ var songIdFromBandJson = bands.song; var bandNameFromJson = bands.name; var bandScoreFromJson = bands.score; $.ajax({ url:"http://totalrockregistration.com/feeds/songs.php", dataType:"jsonp", success: function(songsJsonData){ $.each(songsJsonData.songs, function(i,songs){ if (songIdFromBandJson == songs.id){ var songName=(songs.name); $("#leaderBoardTable tbody").append("<tr><td>"+bandNameFromJson+"</td><td>"+bandScoreFromJson+"</td><td>"+songName+"</td></tr>"); } }); } }); } }); makeLeaderTable(); }, }); function makeLeaderTable(){ $('#leaderBoardTable').dataTable({ "aaSorting": [[ 1, "desc" ]], "iDisplayLength": 50 }); } }); </script>

  • Sorting nested set by name while keep depth integrity

    - by wb
    I'm using the nested set model that'll later be used to build a sitemap for my web site. This is my table structure. create table departments ( id int identity(0, 1) primary key , lft int , rgt int , name nvarchar(60) ); insert into departments (lft, rgt, name) values (1, 10, 'departments'); insert into departments (lft, rgt, name) values (2, 3, 'd'); insert into departments (lft, rgt, name) values (4, 9, 'a'); insert into departments (lft, rgt, name) values (5, 6, 'b'); insert into departments (lft, rgt, name) values (7, 8, 'c'); How can I sort by depth as well as name? I can do select replicate('----', count(parent.name) - 1) + ' ' + node.name , count(parent.name) - 1 as depth , node.lft from departments node , departments parent where node.lft between parent.lft and parent.rgt group by node.name, node.lft order by depth asc, node.name asc; However, that does not match children with their parent for some reason. department lft rgt --------------------------- departments 0 1 ---- a 1 4 ---- d 1 2 -------- b 2 5 -------- c 2 7 As you can see, department 'd' has department 'a's children! Thank you.

  • Rails Nested Attributes Doesn't Insert ID Correctly

    - by MunkiPhD
    I'm attempting to edit a model's nested attributes, much as outline here, replicated here: <%= form_for @person do |person_form| %> <%= person_form.text_field :name %> <% for address in @person.addresses %> <%= person_form.fields_for address, :index => address do |address_form|%> <%= address_form.text_field :city %> <% end %> <% end %> <% end %> In my code, I have the following: <%= form_for(@meal) do |f| %> <!-- some other stuff that's irrelevant... --> <% for subitem in @meal.meal_line_items %> <%= f.fields_for subitem, :index => subitem do |line_item_form| %> <%= line_item_form.label :servings %><br/> <%= line_item_form.text_field :servings %><br/> <%= line_item_form.label :food_id %><br/> <%= line_item_form.text_field :food_id %><br/> <% end %> <% end %> <%= f.submit %> <% end %> This works great, except, when I look at the HTML, it's creating the inputs that look like the following, failing to input the correct id and instead placing the memory representation(?) of the model: <input type="text" value="2" size="30" name="meal[meal_line_item][#<MealLineItem:0x00000005c5d618>][servings]" id="meal_meal_line_item_#<MealLineItem:0x00000005c5d618>_servings">

  • Do you know of a C dictionary that supports COW transactions?

    - by Tim Post
    I'm looking for a key - value dictionary library written in C that supports a theoretically unlimited number of cheap transactions. I'd like to have one dictionary in memory, with hundreds of threads starting transactions, possibly modifying the dictionary, ending (completing) the transaction or potentially aborting the transaction. Only 50% of the time will these threads actually modify the dictionary. Most dictionary transaction implementations that I've seen copy always, instead of copying on write, whenever a transaction is started. Given the expected size ( 1GB) of the dictionary, I'm hoping to find something that COWs only when something is actually changed during a transaction. I'm also hoping for something that is packaged by most major GNU/Linux distributions. Any suggestions or links are very much appreciated.

  • Rails: radio button selection for nested forms objects

    - by satynos
    I have the following form for photo_album which uses the nested forms feature of the Rails in saving the photos while updating the photo_album. And having trouble with the selection of radio button value. I want only one of the photos be able to select as the album cover, but due to the way rails produces form element ids and names, I am able to select all of the photos as album covers. Is there any workaround? <% form_for @photo_album do |f| %> <%= f.error_messages %> <% @photo_album.photos.each do |photo| %> <% f.fields_for :photos, photo do |photo_fields| %> <p> <%= image_tag url_for_image_column(photo, "data", :thumb) %> </p> <p> <%= photo_fields.label :title %> <%= photo_fields.text_field :title %> </p> <p> <%= photo_fields.label :body %> <%= photo_fields.text_area :body %> </p> <p> <%= photo_fields.radio_button :cover, "1" %> <%= photo_fields.label :cover, 'Album Cover', :class => 'option' %> <%= photo_fields.check_box :_delete %> <%= photo_fields.label :_delete, 'Delete', :class => 'option' %> </p> <% end %> <% end %> <p> <%= f.submit @photo_album.new_record? ? I've tried all manner of pluralization/singular, removing the attr_accessible altogether, and who knows what else. restaurant.rb: # == RESTAURANT MODEL # # Table name: restaurants # # id :integer not null, primary key # name :string(255) # created_at :datetime not null # updated_at :datetime not null # class Restaurant < ActiveRecord::Base attr_accessible :name, :job_attributes has_many :jobs has_many :users, :through => :jobs has_many :positions accepts_nested_attributes_for :jobs, :allow_destroy => true validates :name, presence: true end job.rb: # == JOB MODEL # # Table name: jobs # # id :integer not null, primary key # restaurant_id :integer # shortname :string(255) # user_id :integer # created_at :datetime not null # updated_at :datetime not null # class Job < ActiveRecord::Base attr_accessible :restaurant_id, :shortname, :user_id belongs_to :user belongs_to :restaurant has_many :shifts validates :name, presence: false end restaurants_controller.rb: class RestaurantsController < ApplicationController before_filter :logged_in, only: [:new_restaurant] def new @restaurant = Restaurant.new @user = current_user end def create @restaurant = Restaurant.new(params[:restaurant]) if @restaurant.save flash[:success] = "Restaurant created." redirect_to welcome_path end end end new.html.erb: <% provide(:title, 'Restaurant') %> <%= form_for @restaurant do |f| %> <%= render 'shared/error_messages' %> <%= f.label "Restaurant Name" %> <%= f.text_field :name %> <%= f.fields_for :job do |child_f| %> <%= child_f.label "Nickname" %> <%= child_f.text_field :shortname %> <% end %> <%= f.submit "Done", class: "btn btn-large btn-primary" %> <% end %> Output Parameters: {"utf8"=>"?", "authenticity_token"=>"DjYvwkJeUhO06ds7bqshHsctS1M/Dth08rLlP2yQ7O0=", "restaurant"=>{"name"=>"The Pink Door", "job"=>{"shortname"=>"PD"}}, "commit"=>"Done"} The error i'm receiving is: ActiveModel::MassAssignmentSecurity::Error in RestaurantsController#create Cant mass-assign protected attributes: job Rails.root: /home/johnnyfive/Dropbox/Projects/sa Application Trace | Framework Trace | Full Trace app/controllers/restaurants_controller.rb:11:in `new' app/controllers/restaurants_controller.rb:11:in `create' Anyone have ANY clue how to get this to work? Thanks!

  • Nested attributes form for model which belongs_to few models

    - by ExiRe
    I have few models - User, Teacher and TeacherLeader. class User < ActiveRecord::Base attr_accessible ..., :teacher_attributes has_one :teacher has_one :teacher_leader accepts_nested_attributes_for :teacher_leader end class Teacher < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :user has_one :teacher_leader end class TeacherLeader < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :user belongs_to :teacher end I would like to fill TeacherLeader via nested attributes. So, i do such things in controller: class TeacherLeadersController < ApplicationController ... def new @user = User.new @teacher_leader = @user.build_teacher_leader @teachers_collection = Teacher.all.collect do |t| [ "#{t.teacher_last_name} #{t.teacher_first_name} #{t.teacher_middle_name}", t.id ] end @choosen_teacher = @teachers_collection.first.last unless @teachers_collection.empty? end end And also have such view (new.html.erb): <%= form_for @user, :url => teacher_leaders_url, :html => {:class => "form-horizontal"} do |f| %> <%= field_set_tag do %> <% f.fields_for :teacher_leader do |tl| %> <div class="control-group"> <%= tl.label :teacher_id, "Teacher names", :class => "control-label" %> <div class="controls"> <%= select_tag( :teacher_id, options_for_select( @teachers_collection, @choosen_teacher )) %> </div> </div> <% end %> <div class="control-group"> <%= f.label :user_login, "Login", :class => "control-label" %> <div class="controls"> <%= f.text_field :user_login, :placeholder => @everpresent_field_placeholder %> </div> </div> <div class="control-group"> <%= f.label :password, "Pass", :class => "control-label" %> <div class="controls"> <%= f.text_field :password, :placeholder => @everpresent_field_placeholder %> </div> </div> <% end %> <%= f.submit "Create", :class => "btn btn-large btn-success" %> <% end %> Problem is that select form here does NOT appear. Why? Do i do something wrong?

  • Nested WHILE loops not acting as expected - Javascript / Google Apps Script

    - by dthor
    I've got a function that isn't acting as intended. Before I continue, I'd like preface this with the fact that I normally program in Mathematica and have been tasked with porting over a Mathematica function (that I wrote) to JavaScript so that it can be used in a Google Docs spreadsheet. I have about 3 hours of JavaScript experience... The entire (small) project is calculating the Gross Die per Wafer, given a wafer and die size (among other inputs). The part that isn't working is where I check to see if any corner of the die is outside of the effective radius, Reff. The function takes a list of X and Y coordinates which, when combined, create the individual XY coord of the center of the die. That is then put into a separate function "maxDistance" that calculates the distance of each of the 4 corners and returns the max. This max value is checked against Reff. If the max is inside the radius, 1 is added to the die count. // Take a list of X and Y values and calculate the Gross Die per Wafer function CoordsToGDW(Reff,xSize,ySize,xCoords,yCoords) { // Initialize Variables var count = 0; // Nested loops create all the x,y coords of the die centers for (var i = 0; i < xCoords.length; i++) { for (var j = 0; j < yCoords.length, j++) { // Add 1 to the die count if the distance is within the effective radius if (maxDistance(xCoords[i],yCoords[j],xSize,ySize) <= Reff) {count = count + 1} } } return count; } Here are some examples of what I'm getting: xArray={-52.25, -42.75, -33.25, -23.75, -14.25, -4.75, 4.75, 14.25, 23.75, 33.25, 42.75, 52.25, 61.75} yArray={-52.5, -45.5, -38.5, -31.5, -24.5, -17.5, -10.5, -3.5, 3.5, 10.5, 17.5, 24.5, 31.5, 38.5, 45.5, 52.5, 59.5} CoordsToGDW(45,9.5,7.0,xArray,yArray) returns: 49 (should be 72) xArray={-36, -28, -20, -12, -4, 4, 12, 20, 28, 36, 44} yArray={-39, -33, -27, -21, -15, -9, -3, 3, 9, 15, 21, 27, 33, 39, 45} CoordsToGDW(32.5,8,6,xArray,yArray) returns: 39 (should be 48) I know that maxDistance() is returning the correct values. So, where's my simple mistake? Also, please forgive me writing some things in Mathematica notation... Edit #1: A little bit of formatting. Edit #2: Per showi, I've changed WHILE loops to FOR loops and replaced <= with <. Still not the right answer. It did clean things up a bit though... Edit #3: What I'm essentially trying to do is take [a,b] and [a,b,c] and return [[a,a],[a,b],[a,c],[b,a],[b,b],[b,c]]

  • Improved way to build nested array of unique values in javascript

    - by dualmon
    The setup: I have a nested html table structure that displays hierarchical data, and the individual rows can be hidden or shown by the user. Each row has a dom id that is comprised of the level number plus the primary key for the record type on that level. I have to have both, because each level is from a different database table, so the primary key alone is not unique in the dom. example: id="level-1-row-216" I am storing the levels and rows of the visible elements in a cookie, so that when the page reloads the same rows the user had open are can be shown automatically. I don't store the full map of dom ids, because I'm concerned about it getting too verbose, and I want to keep my cookie under 4Kb. So I convert the dom ids to a compact json object like this, with one property for each level, and a unique array of primary keys under each level: { 1:[231,432,7656], 2:[234,121], 3:[234,2], 4:[222,423], 5:[222] } With this structure stored in a cookie, I feed it to my show function and restore the user's previous disclosure state when the page loads. The area for improvement: I'm looking for better option for reducing my map of id selectors down to this compact format. Here is my function: function getVisibleIds(){ // example dom id: level-1-row-216-sub var ids = $("tr#[id^=level]:visible").map(function() { return this.id; }); var levels = {}; for(var i in ids ) { var id = ids[i]; if (typeof id == 'string'){ if (id.match(/^level/)){ // here we extract the number for level and row var level = id.replace(/.*(level-)(\d*)(.*)/, '$2'); var row = id.replace(/.*(row-)(\d*)(.*)/, '$2'); // *** Improvement here? *** // This works, but it seems klugy. In PHP it's one line (see below): if(levels.hasOwnProperty(level)){ if($.inArray(parseInt(row, 10) ,levels[level]) == -1){ levels[level].push(parseInt(row, 10)); } } else { levels[level] = [parseInt(row, 10)]; } } } } return levels; } If I were doing it in PHP, I'd build the compact array like this, but I can't figure it out in javascript: foreach($ids as $id) { if (/* the criteria */){ $level = /* extract it from $id */; $row = /* extract it from $id */; $levels[$level][$row]; } }

  • Marking multi-level nested forms as "dirty" in Rails

    - by Charles Kihe
    I have a three-level multi-nested form in Rails. The setup is like this: Projects have many Milestones, and Milestones have many Notes. The goal is to have everything editable within the page with JavaScript, where we can add multiple new Milestones to a Project within the page, and add new Notes to new and existing Milestones. Everything works as expected, except that when I add new notes to an existing Milestone (new Milestones work fine when adding notes to them), the new notes won't save unless I edit any of the fields that actually belong to the Milestone to mark the form "dirty"/edited. Is there a way to flag the Milestone so that the new Notes that have been added will save? Edit: sorry, it's hard to paste in all of the code because there's so many parts, but here goes: Models class Project < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :notes, :dependent => :destroy has_many :milestones, :dependent => :destroy accepts_nested_attributes_for :milestones, :allow_destroy => true accepts_nested_attributes_for :notes, :allow_destroy => true, :reject_if => proc { |attributes| attributes['content'].blank? } end class Milestone < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :project has_many :notes, :dependent => :destroy accepts_nested_attributes_for :notes, :allow_destroy => true, :allow_destroy => true, :reject_if => proc { |attributes| attributes['content'].blank? } end class Note < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :milestone belongs_to :project scope :newest, lambda { |*args| order('created_at DESC').limit(*args.first || 3) } end I'm using an jQuery-based, unobtrusive version of Ryan Bates' combo helper/JS code to get this done. Application Helper def add_fields_for_association(f, association, partial) new_object = f.object.class.reflect_on_association(association).klass.new fields = f.fields_for(association, new_object, :child_index => "new_#{association}") do |builder| render(partial, :f => builder) end end I render the form for the association in a hidden div, and then use the following JavaScript to find it and add it as needed. JavaScript function addFields(link, association, content, func) { var newID = new Date().getTime(); var regexp = new RegExp("new_" + association, "g"); var form = content.replace(regexp, newID); var link = $(link).parent().next().before(form).prev(); if (func) { func.call(); } return link; } I'm guessing the only other relevant piece of code that I can think of would be the create method in the NotesController: def create respond_with(@note = @owner.notes.create(params[:note])) do |format| format.js { render :json => @owner.notes.newest(3).all.to_json } format.html { redirect_to((@milestone ? [@project, @milestone, @note] : [@project, @note]), :notice => 'Note was successfully created.') } end end The @owner ivar is created in the following before filter: def load_milestone @milestone = @project.milestones.find(params[:milestone_id]) if params[:milestone_id] end def determine_owner @owner = load_milestone @owner ||= @project end Thing is, all this seems to work fine, except when I'm adding new notes to existing milestones. The milestone has to be "touched" in order for new notes to save, or else Rails won't pay attention.
