• My app crashes on Iphone SDK 3.2

  Hi Guys, My app worked ok on iPhone SDK 3.1. However, when I try to run it in 3.2 simulator, I get the following error and it crashes: bool _WebTryThreadLock(bool), 0x5148280: Tried to obtain the web lock from a thread other than the main thread or the web thread. This may be a result of calling to UIKit from a secondary thread. Crashing now... Program received signal: “EXC_BAD_ACCESS”. When I debug it, it leads me to this peace of code: - (void)LoginViewToCheckView:(id)sender { CheckViewController *tempTestController = [[CheckViewController alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewStyleGrouped]; [tempTestController setDelegate:self]; [self setCheckViewController: tempTestController]; [tempTestController release]; [navigationController pushViewController:checkViewController animated:YES];} Other thing worth mentioning is maybe that I am calling this function from a separate thread. Any ideas what could be wrong?

  I'm trying to present the new EKCalendarChooser in my app as a modal view. If however, I display the view using the following code: [[self navigationController] pushViewController:calendarChooser animated:YES]; It works just fine. The done button is displayed. • Pushing View from UITableView Problem

  Basically, what I want is to be able to press a record in a table, and have it push to another view. To do this, I created a nib file and a UIViewController subclass (for the "pushed" view). I set the nib file's "File Owner" to be the controller I created. Then, in the view controller of the table that will push that view, I set the didSelectRowIndexAtPath: method to include the following: SearchTableController *vc = [[SearchTableController alloc] initWithNibName:@"SearchTable" bundle:[NSBundle mainBundle]]; [self.navigationController pushViewController:vc animated:YES]; [vc release]; (where "SearchTableController" is the name of the UIViewController subclass and "SearchTable" is the name of the nib file) However, when I run this code and click on the record, nothing happens- the app doesn't crash, but the view doesn't get pushed. The code is getting run, because it works when I NSLog(), but it doesn't seem to be pushing the view. Thanks for any help in advance.

• iPhone: How do I override the back button in a Navigation Controller?

  Hello, In my app I have a basic Navigation Controller. For all of my views, except one, the controller works as it should. However, for one view in particular, I would like the 'back' button to not go back to the previous view, but to go to one I set. In particular it is going to go back 2 views and skip over one. After doing some research I found that I can intercept the view when it disappears, so I tried to put in code to have it navigate to the page I would like: - (void)viewWillDisappear:(BOOL)animated { [super viewWillDisappear:animated]; //i set a flag to know that the back button was pressed if (viewPushed) { viewPushed = NO; } else { // Here, you know that back button was pressed mainMenu *mainViewController = [[mainMenu alloc] initWithNibName:@"mainMenu" bundle:nil]; [self.navigationController pushViewController:mainViewController animated:YES]; [mainViewController release]; } } That didn't work, so does anyone have any ideas? What I would like it to do is wait until it finishes the scroll/selection and then push the view controller. Is there any possible way of doing this? Thanks

• iPhone Application crashing upon loading a new Detail View

  Hi, My problem is when trying to load a detail view through a table cell, the application constantly crashes. The error that comes up when running through debug is "__TERMINATING_DUE_TO_UNCAUGHT_EXCEPTION___" objc exception thrown. If anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated.   The other day I asked about using a UINavigationController as a child of a UIViewController. I got that working via the answer. Now what I'm trying to do is push a controller onto the nav stack.   I am making a simple navigation based application that drills down one level and show a new xib file each time. When I drill down one level my screen shows up blank. I still have the navigation controller at the top with a back button but my view dosent load.   I am using a UITableView to display a list of cells, when the user selects a cell then a new view appears by using the following code: - (void) tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { [self.navigationController pushViewController: detailsViewController animated: TRUE]; } By using the code above, the view is displayed correctly, but when I return back to the root table view, then the cell is still selected. I noticed, in many sdk examples, that the cell is deselected (with a nice animation) when the root view is poped pack, but I could not find the code that implemented this feature in any of the examples. I know that I can use: [tableView deselectRowAtIndexPath:indexPath animated: YES]; to implement this, but I am very curious on how these examples do it without using any code. Any ideas?

  I have a ViewController that takes time to load its views. When I run Instruments, I see from the home screen, if I tap on the icon that pushes that view controller onto the stack, it's half laying out the views, and half getting the data for the views. I tried adding an activity indicator to display on the home screen over the button when the button is pressed to push the LongRunningViewController onto the stack.   I've subclassed MKAnnotation so that i can assign objects to annotations and then assign this object to a view controller like so: - (void)mapView:(MKMapView *)mapView annotationView:(MKAnnotationView *)view calloutAccessoryControlTapped:(UIControl *)control { PlaceDetailView *detailView = [[PlaceDetailView alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewStyleGrouped]; detailView.place = [view.annotation place]; [self.navigationController pushViewController:detailView animated:YES]; [detailView release]; } This is working great but i'm having the following issues: If i try and access the place getter method like so view.annotation.place i recieve an error: Accessing unknown place getter method If i acces the place getter method like so [view.annotation place] i receive a warning: place not found in protocol From my understanding this is because the place object is not defined in the MKAnnotation protocol, although i'm aware of this i'm not sure how to tell the complier that place does exist and it's not calling it blind.

• Static keyboard in uitableview

  I have a UITableView that holds just two cells with a textfield in each. As my tableview is just for editing the text in these textfields I always want the keyboard to be shown static in the bottom of the screen. So in viewDidLoad I set the first textfield to become first responder. Something I have noticed though is that when I push the UITableViewController into the UINavigationController the keyboard show up a little bit slower so you can see it animate into the screen. It would be much better if it was there already there when the uitableview shows up. I also tried making the textfield first responder before pushing it as recommended but that didn't made the keyboard show at all: MyTableViewController *myTableViewController = [[MyTableViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"MyTableViewController" bundle:nil]; [myTableViewController.textField becomeFirstResponder]; [self.navigationController pushViewController:myTableViewController animated:YES]; [myTableViewController release]; How can I accomplish this? • Documents/Images display fine in Simulator, but not on my device

  Hello. My application is running fine on the simulator, but not on the device. Basically, any documents from the web (PDF, Word, M4P videos) are working great on the simulator (and can be accessed from Safari on the iPhone). However, running on the iPhone, they don't display anything.   I have a picker that prompts the user to choose a gender and an age group (17-21, 22-26, etc.) These 2 choices determine which view the user will be brought to after pressing the button, but I am having troubles writing the method for that button. I can select a control(text box), but once I click out of one, it crashes. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
