  • QTest::keyPress is not returning nativeScanCode

    - by vels
    Hi, I am simulating F1 key using QTest::keyPress() method to test keypress event, on simulation of F1 key when i check for nativeScanCode, it returns 0 value. can any one help? //Code snippet //To simulate F1 key press QTest::keyPress(&kboard, Qt::Key_F1); //To check keypress Event void keyboard::keyPressEvent(QKeyEvent* ke) { if ( ke->type() == QEvent::KeyPress ) { QKeyEvent* key_event = static_cast<QKeyEvent *>(ke); //To check F1 key simulation if (key_event->key() == Qt::Key_F1) { int nativeCode = key_event->nativeScanCode(); qDebug()<< nativeCode <<endl; } } } Thanks, vels

    - by Vladimiroff
    I'm writing an Qt application and I go through authorization process and everything. I'm even able to fetch the @self feed, but for some reason I get error 404 when trying to do the same thing with @consumption: "Download of https://www.googleapis.com/buzz/v1/activities/v.kiril/@consumption failed: Error downloading https://www.googleapis.com/buzz/v1/activities/v.kiril/@consumption - server replied: Not Found" I've got this url from the Google Buzz API. And I've tried to use my personal google profile ID and this @me namespace. Without success

  • Penalty of using QGraphicsObject vs QGraphicsItem?

    - by Dutch
    I currently have a hierarchy of items based off of QGraphicsItem. I want to move to QGraphicsObject instead so that I can put properties on my items. I will not be making use of signals/slots or any other features of QObject. I'm told that you shouldn't derive from QObject because it's "heavy" and "slow". To test the impact, I derive from QGraphicsObject, add a couple properties to my items, and look at the memory usage of the running app. I create 1000 items using both flavors and I don't notice anything more than 10k more memory usage. Since all I am adding on to my items are properties, is it safe to say that QObject only adds weight if you are using signals/slots?

  • Qt Qbrush issue

    - by Solitaire
    What is the difference in the following code, QGraphicsScene * scence = new QGraphicsScene(); QBrush *brush = new QBrush((QColor(60,20,20))); scence->setBackgroundBrush(*brush); QGraphicsView *view = new QGraphicsView(); view->setScene(scence); //view->setBackgroundBrush(*brush); //view->setCacheMode(QGraphicsView::CacheBackground); view->showFullScreen(); gives black color background QGraphicsScene * scence = new QGraphicsScene(); QBrush *brush = new QBrush(); brush->setColor(QColor(60,20,20)); scence->setBackgroundBrush(*brush); QGraphicsView *view = new QGraphicsView(); view->setScene(scence); //view->setBackgroundBrush(*brush); //view->setCacheMode(QGraphicsView::CacheBackground); view->showFullScreen(); it gives nothing.

  • How to delete a QProcess instance correctly?

    - by Kopfschmerzen
    Hi everyone! I have a class looking like this: class FakeRunner : public QObject { Q_OBJECT private: QProcess* proc; public: FakeRunner(); int run() { if (proc) return -1; proc = new QProcess(); QStringList args; QString programName = "fake.exe"; connect(comp, SIGNAL(started()), this, SLOT(procStarted())); connect(comp, SIGNAL(error(QProcess::ProcessError)), this, SLOT(procError(QProcess::ProcessError))); connect(comp, SIGNAL(finished(int, QProcess::ExitStatus)), this, SLOT(procFinished(int, QProcess::ExitStatus))); proc->start(programName, args); return 0; }; private slots: void procStarted() {}; void procFinished(int, QProcess::ExitStatus) {}; void procError(QProcess::ProcessError); } Since "fake.exe" does not exist on my system, proc emits the error() signal. If I handle it like following, my program crashes: void FakeRunner::procError(QProcess::ProcessError rc) { delete proc; proc = 0; } It works well, though, if I don't delete the pointer. So, the question is how (and when) should I delete the pointer to QProcess? I believe I have to delete it to avoid a memory leak. FakeRunner::run() can be invoked many times, so the leak, if there is one, will grow. Thanks!

  • QTableWidget::itemAt() returns seemingly random items

    - by Jordan Milne
    I've just started using Qt, so please bear with me. When I use QTableWidget-getItemAt(), it returns a different item from if I used currentItemChanged and clicked the same item. I believe it's necessary to use itemAt() since I need to get the first column of whatever row was clicked. Some example code is below: MainWindow::MainWindow(QWidget *parent) : QMainWindow(parent), ui(new Ui::MainWindow) { ui->setupUi(this); QList<QString> rowContents; rowContents << "Foo" << "Bar" << "Baz" << "Qux" << "Quux" << "Corge" << "Grault" << "Garply" << "Waldo" << "Fred"; for(int i =0; i < 10; ++i) { ui->tableTest->insertRow(i); ui->tableTest->setItem(i, 0, new QTableWidgetItem(rowContents[i])); ui->tableTest->setItem(i, 1, new QTableWidgetItem(QString::number(i))); } } //... void MainWindow::on_tableTest_currentItemChanged(QTableWidgetItem* current, QTableWidgetItem* previous) { ui->lblColumn->setText(QString::number(current->column())); ui->lblRow->setText(QString::number(current->row())); ui->lblCurrentItem->setText(current->text()); ui->lblCurrentCell->setText(ui->tableTest->itemAt(current->column(), current->row())->text()); } For the item at 1x9, lblCurrentItem displays "9" (as it should,) whereas lblCurrentCell displays "Quux". Am I doing something wrong?

  • QWT plugin for QT 4.5

    - by Extrakun
    Hi, I have gotten the latest QWT 5.1.2 for QT 4.5 and managed to get it to complie. I am now trying to get the plugin to work in QT Designer (with VS intergration). I have placed the plugin files into the plugin/designer folder, but when attempting to load, I hit this error Cannot load library qwt_desginer_plugin5.dll: The specified module cannot be found. I've done some search on this issue, one page which suggest moving the plugin to the VS intergration folder - which does not exist for Program Files\Nokia\Vs4Addin. My QT Designer is a debug-and-relase build. (That is, if I use a debug build of the plugin it would complain that it is expecting a release).

  • Deleting QWinWidget

    - by user152508
    Hello I am using mfc to Qt migration and I am showing Qt dialogs in my Mfc app. Is it Ok to deleteLater QWinWidget in its winEvent handler? The thing is that I want all of my open Qt dialogs in My Mfc application to be automatically deleted when the main mfc window is closed. Since WM_DESTROY will be sent for all child windows ( and the Qt widgets too) So I added the following code in QwinWidget winEvent handler : QWinWidget::winEvent(MSG * message, long * result) { ........ if(message->message == WM_DESTROY ) deleteLater(); return false; } Can someone comment this Thanks

  • What exactly are signals and slots in Qt?

    - by Jen
    I know how they work conceptually, but how are signals and slots implemented in the Qt framework? Qt Creator treats them as keywords, but are they simply a set of macros, or is a special pre-processor required before these source files can be compiled? In other words, if I use Qt's signal/slot features in my code, can I easily compile it on any C++ compiler?

  • QT intellisense question

    - by uzay95
    in this code: #include <QApplication> #include <QPushButton> int main(int argc,char *argv[]) { QApplication app(argc,argv); QPushButton *button = new QPushButton("Button Text"); QObject::connect(button,SIGNAL(clicked()),&app,SLOT(quit())); button->show(); return app.exec(); } intellisense is appearing when the cursor is in SIGNAL parenthesis to write button event. But it doesn't appear in SLOT parenthesis to write app method ? is it related with & character in front of app ?

  • What is the fastest way to display an image in QT on X11 without OpenGL?

    - by msh
    I need to display a raw image in a QT widget. I'm running X11 on a framebuffer, so OpenGL is not available. Both the image and the framebuffer are in the same format - RGB565, but I can change it to any other format if needed. I don't need blending or scaling. I just need to display pixels as is. I'm using QPainter::drawImage, but it converts QImage to QPixmap and this conversion seems to be very slow. Also it is backed by Xrender and I think there is unnecessary overhead required to support blending in Xrender which I don't really need Is there any better way? If it is not available in QT, I can use Xlib or any other library or protocol. I can modify the driver, X server or anything else.

  • Hidden features of Qt.

    - by Lukasz Lew
    A little is hidden in Qt given splendid documentation. But given vastness of Qt functionality paradoxically many useful features have been overlooked by me (and reimplemented or work-arounded). What Qt functions you wish you have noticed earlier?

  • QString::number() - zero padding?

    - by elcuco
    I want to "stringify" a number and keep leading zeros. Unlike this question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/885401/print-trailing-zeros-in-a-qstring I also need this in hex. By code now uses this, which is not enough: QString::number(myNumber,16).toUpper()

  • Qt/PyQt dialog with toggable fullscreen mode - problem on Windows

    - by Guard
    I have a dialog created in PyQt. It's purpose and functionality don't matter. The init is: class MyDialog(QWidget, ui_module.Ui_Dialog): def __init__(self, parent=None): super(MyDialog, self).__init__(parent) self.setupUi(self) self.installEventFilter(self) self.setWindowFlags(Qt.Dialog | Qt.WindowTitleHint) self.showMaximized() Then I have event filtering method: def eventFilter(self, obj, event): if event.type() == QEvent.KeyPress: key = event.key() if key == Qt.Key_F11: if self.isFullScreen(): self.setWindowFlags(self._flags) if self._state == 'm': self.showMaximized() else: self.showNormal() self.setGeometry(self._geometry) else: self._state = 'm' if self.isMaximized() else 'n' self._flags = self.windowFlags() self._geometry = self.geometry() self.setWindowFlags(Qt.Tool | Qt.FramelessWindowHint) self.showFullScreen() return True elif key == Qt.Key_Escape: self.close() return QWidget.eventFilter(self, obj, event) As can be seen, Esc is used for dialog hiding, and F11 is used for toggling full-screen. In addition, if the user changed the dialog mode from the initial maximized to normal and possibly moved the dialog, it's state and position are restored after exiting the full-screen. Finally, the dialog is created on the MainWindow action triggered: d = MyDialog(self) d.show() It works fine on Linux (Ubuntu Lucid), but quite strange on Windows 7: if I go to the full-screen from the maximized mode, I can't exit full-screen (on F11 dialog disappears and appears in full-screen mode again. If I change the dialog's mode to Normal (by double-clicking its title), then go to full-screen and then return back, the dialog is shown in the normal mode, in the correct position, but without the title line. Most probably the reason for both cases is the same - the setWindowFlags doesn't work. But why? Is it also possible that it is the bug in the recent PyQt version? On Ubuntu I have 4.6.x from apt, and on Windows - the latest installer from the riverbank site.
