    Hi all, I am facing one transactional replication delay issue on log reader agent. The log reader output is : ********* STATISTICS SINCE AGENT STARTED ************** 02-28-2011 20:12:08 Execution time (ms): 304141 Work time (ms): 304016 Distribute Repl Cmds Time(ms): 303764 Fetch time(ms): 300813 Repldone time(ms): 1826 Write time(ms): 5319 Num Trans: 15500 Num Trans/Sec: 50.984159 Num Cmds: 191639 Num Cmds/Sec: 630.358271 It seems Log Reader Reader-Thread Latency, and I also run 'sp_replcounters' and see more than 20,000 sec replication latency and keep on increasing. I used SQL profiler to monitor sp_replcmds and found sp_replcmds execution time was 11 sec to 15 sec Is it there any way to optimize to make Log Reader read faster from transaction log??? Other information: SQL Server 2008 (SP2) Standard 64 bit

  • Window 7 hangs on using Adobe Reader

    Window 7 often hangs when i open some pdf file with Adobe Reader. First of all, Adobe Reader crashes and as soon as it stops, the window hangs and after few seconds, it displays a message quoting "Dumping Physical Memory" in a typical Windows98 manner and then the system reboots. This problem persists each time i use Adobe Reader. However, i have installed Foxit Reader to view Pdf files. But there are some issues with that also. As sometimes i have editable files, which could be done in Adobe Reader's newest version only. Suggestions on how to solve this problem would be appreciated.

  • Why does Google Reader use up so much memory?

    I'm running the dev version of Chrome and just found out I could see the memory usage of every tab (press shift + ESC to find out yourself). Turns out the Shockwave Flash plugin uses 240 MB of memory and 27% of CPU while having open Google Reader. Killing this page brings it down to 50 MB. I reckon it builts up after reading through about 100 feeds. So my question is: why does it take up so much memory and what should I do to diminish it? Why I care? I often don't restart my browser (or laptop for that matter) and keep the Google Reader tab open for long periods of time. The memory does start to add up that way. Plus I have the feeling, perhaps incorrect, that it slows things down as well looking at the CPU usage. Side note: using Chrome 4 on Windows 7 (32 bit)

  • How to post a poll on the Facebook wall

    Hi, I'm trying to convert my poll app into a Facebook iframe app. My app is written in PHP and uses some Ajax calls to vote at a poll. In the application canvas everything is working fine, but of course I want to get the poll on the wall of a user too. Unfortunately I'm not able to find out how I can post a simple poll with some radio buttons for the options on the wall. I know how to publish images, text, audio files and links to the wall, but I have no idea how to publish my poll on the wall. And I don't just want to use links to vote, I want the user be able to choose a radio button. Does anyone have an idea how to do this or where to find information about doing this? I'm stuck there now for a while and it gets pretty frustrating. I'm using the new Graph API by the way. Or is this impossible? But I don't think so. Any help is appreciated. Bengt

    I followed the django tutorial here: http://docs.djangoproject.com/en/dev/intro/tutorial01/ and now I am at creating a poll. The code below works fine until I want to create choices, where for some reason I always get this error message: line 22, in unicode return self.question AttributeError: 'Choice' object has no attribute 'question' Unfortunatley, I dont understand where I made an error.   • poll(2) doesn't empty the event queue

    Hi, Im using linux as my programming platform. I am using poll(2) to know if my device is triggering an event. The first call of poll is ok, it blocks and wait for the event to happen. But in the second poll function call, it will return but it capture the event. Below are my code ret = poll( fds, 1, 2000); //2 secs timeout if( fds[0].revents & POLLIN && ret > 0) { printf("event occur\n"); } It seems the queue/buffer is not empty, im just assuming. What do you think is the problem? Thanks.

  • Clarity Comics Comic Reader for Windows Phone 7

    Weve been really busy building all sorts custom Windows Phone 7 goodies lately.  One of the experiences weve been working on recently is a comic book reader  for WP7.  Here at Clarity we have particular individuals that are nuts about comics and codingso it was a no-brainer to knock this thing out.  Under the Covers There are a couple of components to this application that made it come together quickly.  First, as you know, WP7 runs Silverlight so we were able to leverage a bunch of silverlight assets we had hanging around from previous projects.  We were shocked to see the 80% code reuse claim was true!  Second, the application was built on the newly created Clarity Phone Framework (CP7).  This framework provides a platform that we can leverage to quickly wire up applications and get them out the door.  The framework includes gesture support, mapping controls, data visualization,  a special mvvm architecture for the phone, navigation animations, and a handful of other controls weve cooked up in our labslike voice recognition support.  (additional posts on the framework are coming soon) Third, the reading experience of the comic reader is driven by Deep Zoom.  We were pleasantly surprised to see that the windows phone 7 sdk worked nicely with Deep Zoom and the Deep Zoom composer.  We did have to add some hooks in there to get the gestures to work, but nothing too deep (no pun intended).  Unfortunately we cant release the code for this one just yet.  But rest-assured, there will be plenty more Windows Phone 7 and Silverlight goodies to come.   • Kingston SD reader not working for USB3

    I have a Kingston 4-in-1 Multimedia reader. When my PC was formatted with Win7 it worked fine. I decided to change to Ubuntu 14.04 and now it doesn't work. If I plug it into one of the USB2 ports it works fine, but whenever I plug it into one of the USB3 ports, it thinks about it for a minute and then dies.   • Oracle Virtual Desktop Client with USB smart card reader

    I have my Sun Ray thin client at home which I use religiously, I use a Sun Ray 3i at work as my main desktop and just always take my smart card home and happily continue with the hot desking feature. We released a software version of the Sun Ray client called Oracle Virtual Desktop Client (OVDC). There is a version for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X. I have a minimac at home and I installed OVDC on it, which of course works great but since I like to re-connect to my session that I use at work, I wanted to try out the external usb smart card reader feature. I ordered a cute, low cost device online and tried it out. As expected, it worked out of the box without -any- configuration. I took the device, plugged it into my minimac, started OVDC, plugged in my smartcard and I got the password screen (screensaver) to get into my sun ray session on my server at work.   • Poll on Entity Framework 4 &ndash; one year on

    12 months back (today is March 15th 2010) on the 16th of  March 2009 I created a poll on Entity Framework v1 – the marmite of ORMs? A quick poll…. Entity Framework v1 was getting a mixed reception at the time – I met developers who genuinely hated it and I met developers who were loving the productivity improvements they were seeing. There were definitely issues with v1, too many IMHO. Which is why the product team placed a huge effort on listening to the community to drive the feature set for v2 (which ultimately was named Entity Framework 4 as it ships with .NET 4). I think overall the team have done a great job. It isn’t perfect in .NET 4 (which is why the team are busy on post .NET 4 improvements) but I would happily use it and recommend it for a wide variety of projects – much wider than I would have with v1. I am speaking on EF 4 at www.devweek.com this Wednesday and I thought it would be fun to put a new version of the poll out and see how v4 is being received. Obviously the big difference is we have not yet shipped EF4 vs when I did the original poll on EF1.   • How do I sort feeds returned from Google Reader?

    When I query Google Reader for the list of subscriptions for a user, it seems to be returned in a fixed order, no matter what the order is as shown at google.com/reader. (see http://www.google.com/reader/api/0/subscription/list for the list I'm talking about) Each subscription returns a 'sortid', which Google Reader uses when the user rearranges subscriptions, by sending back a concatenation of all sortids in the new order after rearranging is finished. However, that sortid never changes. So my question is this: How do I actually get the order the subscriptions are supposed to be in? I've been using http://code.google.com/p/pyrfeed/wiki/GoogleReaderAPI as a reference, but it is lacking in this department, and I haven't found anything anywhere else either.

  • Adobe Reader crashes immediately after starting

    I'm running ubuntu 12.04 32 bit system. I installed adobe reader through software center but when click on the icon to start acroread it immediately crashes during showing splash window. I've also tried using terminal running command "acroread" but no gain. It even doesn't show any error massage. It should be noted that to solve the problem i've installed lsb module and ia32-libs. But my problem is not solved.

    I recently got a new Droid Bionic, and it has the SD/HC card. Today, I got a new USB card reader that reads the HC format. When I plug it into my Linux Mint 11 (katya), Gnome 32-bit computer, I get this error every I try to copy or move any file off of the card onto my desktop: Error splicing file: Input/output error I don't have the problem on a Windows Vista computer.     Why does Adobe Acrobat Reader require a restart when you update it? It's a piece of software that reads PDFs. Just what else is it installing/updating that requires a total OS reboot to "complete" the installation? A bit of Googling indicates that it's to allow the OS to install the Adobe "Speed Launcher" - is this it or are there other components that are more tightly into the OS that it must absolutely have to have closed so that it can update them?

  • How to use the 4-in-1 card reader on my Lenovo x100e?

    My Lenovo x100e laptop has a "4-in-1" card reader that's supposed to handle SD/SDHC, MMC, Memory Stick and MS Pro, but I can't insert my SDHC card (a "SANDISK SECURE DIGITAL EXTREME SDHC 16GB 30MB/S"). It enters a bit and looks lite it will fit, but then it doesn't get any further in (and yes, I've tried to turn it around). It really doesn't move, and I'm afraid to break something if I push harder. Am I missing something obvious here?

    Using Firefox I was viewing a PDF file embedded within a web page, with the toolbar available. After right-clicking to deselect the toolbar (I was testing something) I cannot find a way to reinstate them. Since the toolbar is enabled by right clicking on the toolbar area, when it's disabled, it's not obvious how to reenable it. When the toolbars have been disabled and no longer visible, how do you reinstate them? Version info: Firefox 3.6.3 Adobe Reader 9.3 Kubuntu 10.04
