• PHP and MySQL related Problem

  Hi friends, I have a local LAN to my office. Recently I designed a New Software system using PHP, MySQL for my office. My boss wants to see the reports from online. My problem is, my network connection is often failed to my office. But I have to input all time. So, now I want to use two instances of my software. One will be using the LAN and one will be uploaded to my server. My question is, how can I easily keep the both databases up-to-date always? Please help me with this issue. • user related commands hang on open("/etc/localtime", O_RDONLY) = 4 in CentOS 5.5

  I am logged in as root when doing a strace -etrace=open adduser git it hangs on open("/etc/localtime", O_RDONLY) = 4 for like 2 minutes then continues on. Also when I try and strace -etrace=open su git it just hangs at the same place as well, I can't login via ssh as the git user either. Some other users I created work just fine, like su tomcat and I can ssh in as tomcat as well. I deleted the file that was at /etc/localtime and replaced it with a symlink to ln -s /usr/share/zoneinfo/US/Eastern /etc/localtime and it didn't change the behavior in any way.

• Network problems that might be related to NAT

  Hello, I have an odd setup where there is a router(Router 2) routing between network network 1 and network 2. One router(Router 1) with nat for internet access that routes between internet and network 1. There are people in both of these networks. All the clients in network 1 can access the internet, the clients in network 2 can access the clients in network 1 and can also access the router 1. Router 1 can also access clients in network 2. However, the clients in network 2 cannot reach the internet. I cannot think about anything in the routing tables that would hinder this, since Router 1 can reach the clients in network 2 and vice versa. Can it be that nat starts the session between router 2 and the internet site/machine instead of the client and the internet machine? Does anyone have any ideas? I have very little control over router 2(its basicly an ISP vpn net service) but full access to router 1. Its an ubuntu 10.04 with iptables for nat/firewall setup.

• Filemaker show total from related table

  I have a bit of experience with Access and SQL but I'm new to Filemaker. I have a layout which shows a list of projects. One of the fields I want it to show is "total amount of paid invoices up to the end of the last financial year". The invoices are stored on another table so I will need to pick from this table all records where "project id" = "project id" (this is set up as a relationship between the tables) and also "invoice is paid" = yes AND "date invoice paid" < start of last financial year. My question is how do I go about getting and showing that data? I can get a total easily enough, it's filtering out these specific rows that I'm having trouble with. I'm guessing there's an easy solution...

• Network-related icons suddenly removed

  Hello, On a fresh Windows 7 installation, I created some shortcuts icons to network shares on the Desktop. Without any warning, these icons are sometimes and randomly deleted from Desktop. I totally don't understand what it happens! They are not hidden, they just are simply deleted. This behavior occurs on one computer in my company. Others Windows 7 computers are not affected by that. And also it's the first time I encounter that. Do you have an idea about this problem? Thanks.

  I have two exactly the same servers and very curious how to make Infiniband interconnection between them? Both servers' basic specs are: CPU: 32GHz = 2x Intel Xeon X5650, 6 core, 2.66GHz and RAM: 24GB per server (edited) How determine what speed of Infiniband will be enough for perfect interconnection? SDR, DDR, QDR or FDR? My logic is 32Ghz = 32Gb/s and 40Gb one is enough, am I right or it is not that simple?

• Chrome logs me out of everything when I exit--tried cookie-related stuff already

  I've been using Chrome very successfully for a long time. It has always kept me logged in to all my sites even after exiting the app. Recently it started logging me out of everything when I exit Chrome. I've fooled around with all the various advanced cookie settings, and I've cycled through the options hoping that Chrome just needed a wakeup call or a reset or something. I've also deleted all the cookies in case a corrupted one is confusing Chrome. Nothing works! I see cookies when I log in, but they all go away when I exit Chrome. I've searched all over the place and seen only the standard answers relating to resetting cookies, local data, sessions, that sort of thing. Any Chrome gurus out there, please send a telepathic message to my browser asking it to resume its previous excellent behavior. Alternatively, you could suggest other possible solutions.

Do we need another DL server with controller so that we could use iSCSI ? Do we need to get some P800 controller for doing that? I cannot imagine how it is connected together actually ... MSA60-DLserver with p800 controller and servers that are running VM connected with iSCSI to this DL server ? Or MSA60 directly supports iSCSI so the DL server is not necessary ? What is inside this MSA60? Is it possible to install there OS ? Thank you.

  Is there any service available where you simply list the services, programs and versions you use, and when some CVE comes out about it, you automatically get alerted? Also, is there any other place to look for this kind of information. Do some people release security vulnerabilities to other places than CVE? So in general, how do you guys keep up to date with what might be vulnerable in your infrastructure? Edit: Since I've been asked, we are a Unix shop with mostly Red Hat and some HP-UX. I would still prefer a high level solution which are OS independent. What happens if we use software versions which are not in the official repositories of Red Hat/HP/... or simply not supported by them.

  Just some background, sorry so long winded. I'm using the System.Data.SQLite ADO.net adapter to create a local sqlite database and this will be the only process hitting the database, so I don't need to worry about concurrency. I'm building the database from various sources and don't want to build this all in memory using datasets or dataadapters or anything like that. I want to do this using SQL (DdCommands). I'm not very good with SQL and complete noob in sqlite. I'm basically using sqlite as a local database / save file structure. The database has a lot of related tables and the data has nothing to do with People or Regions or Districts, but to use a simple analogy, imagine: Region table with auto increment RegionID, RegionName column and various optional columns. District table with auto increment DistrictID, DistrictName, RegionId, and various optional columns Person table with auto increment PersonID, PersonName, DistrictID, and various optional columns So I get some data representing RegionName, DistrictName,PersonName, and other Person related data. The Region, District and/or Person may or may not be created at this point. Once again, not being the greatest with this, my thoughts would be something like: Check to see if Region exists and if so get the RegionID else create it and get RegionID Check to see if District exists and if so get the DistrictID else create it adding in RegionID from above and get DistrictID Check to see if Person exists and if so get the PersonID else create it adding in DistrictID from above and get PersonID Update Person with rest of data. In MS SQL Server I would create a stored procedure to handle all this. Only way I can see to do this with sqlite is a lot of commands. So I'm sure I'm not getting this. I've spent hours looking around on various sites but just don't feel like I'm going down the right road. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  I have run into a problem which have searched and tried everything i can to find a solution but to no avail. I am using the same repository and context throughout the process I have a booking entity and a userExtension Entity Below is my image i then get my form collection back from my page and create a new booking public ActionResult Create(FormCollection collection) { Booking toBooking = new Booking(); i then do some validation and property assignment and find an associated BidInstance toBooking.BidInstance = bid; i have checked and the bid is not null. finally i get the user extension file from the Current IPRINCIPAL USER as below UserExtension loggedInUser = m_BookingRepository.GetBookingCurrentUser(User); toBooking.UserExtension = loggedInUser; The Code to do the getUserExtension is : public UserExtension GetBookingCurrentUser(IPrincipal currentUser) { var user = (from u in Context.aspnet_Users .Include("UserExtension") where u.UserName == currentUser.Identity.Name select u).FirstOrDefault(); if (user != null) { var userextension = (from u in Context.UserExtension.Include("aspnet_Users") where u.aspnet_Users.UserId == user.UserId select u).FirstOrDefault(); return userextension; } else{ return null; } } It returns the userextension fine and assigns it fine. i originally used the aspnet_users but encountered this problem so tried to change it to the extension entity. as soon as i call the : Context.AddToBooking(booking); Context.SaveChanges(); i get the following exception and im completely baffled by how to fix it Entities in 'FutureFlyersEntityModel.Booking' participate in the 'FK_Booking_UserExtension' relationship. 0 related 'UserExtension' were found. 1 'UserExtension' is expected. then the final error that comes to the front end is: Metadata information for the relationship 'FutureFlyersModel.FK_Booking_BidInstance' could not be retrieved. Make sure that the EdmRelationshipAttribute for the relationship has been defined in the assembly. Parameter name: relationshipName.. But both the related entities are set in the booking entity passed thruogh PLEASE HELP Im at wits end with this

• Formatting inline many-to-many related models presented in django admin

  I've got two django models (simplified): class Product(models.Model): name = models.TextField() price = models.IntegerField() class Invoice(models.Model): company = models.TextField() customer = models.TextField() products = models.ManyToManyField(Product) I would like to see the relevant products as a nice table (of product fields) in an Invoice page in admin and be able to link to the individual respective Product pages. My first thought was using the admin's inline - but django used a select box widget per related Product. This isn't linked to the Product pages, and also as I have thousands of products, and each select box independently downloads all the product names, it quickly becomes unreasonably slow. So I turned to using ModelAdmin.filter_horizontal as suggested here, which used a single instance of a different widget, where you have a list of all Products and another list of related Products and you can add\remove products in the later from the former. This solved the slowness, but it still doesn't show the relevant Product fields, and it ain't linkable. So, what should I do? tweak views? override ModelForms? I Googled around and couldn't find any example of such code...

• Update Related Entity Of Detached Entity

  I'm having an issue updating an entity with multiple related entities. I've got a very simple model which consists of an article entity and a list of categories the article can be related to. You can choose from a check box list which of these categories are associated to it...which works fine. The problem crops up when I actually come to update an existing entity using the dbContext. As I am updating this entity, I have already detached it from the context ready to re-attach it later so the update can execute properly. I can see that after I posting the model, the category(s) are being added to the article entity just fine and it looks like it updates in the repository with no errors occurring. When I look in the database the article has updated as normal but the category(s) have not. Here is my (simplified) update code... public virtual bool Attach(T entity) { _dbContext.Entry(entity).State = EntityState.Modified; _dbSet.Attach(entity); return this.Commit(); } Any help will be much appreciated.

  Dear all,Now i have this question in my java program,I think it should be classified as URL problem,but not 100% sure.If you think I am wrong,feel free to recategorize this problem,thanks. I would state my problem as simply as possible. I did a search on the famouse Chinese search engine baidu.com for a Chinese key word "???" (Obama in English),and the way I do that is to pass a URL (in a Java Program)to the browser like: http://news.baidu.com/ns?word=??? and it works perfectly just like I input the "???”keyword in the text field on baidu.com. However,now my advisor wants another thing.Since he can not read the Chinese webpages,but he wants to make sure the webpages I got from Baidu.com is related to "Obama",he asked me to google translate it back,i.e,using google translate and translate the Chinese webpage to English one. This sounds straightforward.However,I met my problem here. If I simply pass the URL "http://news.baidu.com/ns?word=???" into Google Translate and tick "Chinese to English" translating option,the result looks awful.(I don't know the clue here,maybe related to Chinese character encoding). Alternatively,if now my browser opens ""http://news.baidu.com/ns?word=???" webpage,but I click on the "????" button (that simply means "search"),you will notice the URL will get changed,now if I pass this URL into the Google translate and do the same thing,the result works much better. I hope I am not making this problem sound too complicated,and I appologize for some Chinese words invovled,but I really need your guys' help here.Becasue I did all this in a Java program,I couldn't figure out how to realize that "????"(pressing search button) step then get the new URL.If I could get that new URL,things are easy,I could just call Google translate in my Java code,and pops out the new window to show my advisor. It is similar to stackover flow, but I am keeping my tags in differnt table. so here are the tables/class in linq to entities. Books { bookId, Title } Tags { Id Tag } BooksTags { Id BookId TagId } Here are few sample records. Books BookId Title 113421 A 113422 B Tags Id Tag 1 ASP 2 C# 3 CSS 4 VB 5 VB.NET 6 PHP 7 java 8 pascal BooksTags Id BookId TagId 1 113421 1 2 113421 2 3 113421 3 4 113421 4 5 113422 1 6 113422 4 7 113422 8 Question 1 : I need to write something in linq to entities queries which gives me data according to the tags say if I want bookIds where tagid =1 it should return bookid 113421 and 113422 as it exists in both the books, but If I ask data for tags 1 and 2 it should return only book 113421 as that is the only book where both the tags are present. Question 2 : I need tags and their count too to show in related tags, so in first case my related tags class should have following result. RelatedTags Tag Count 2 1 3 1 4 2 8 1 in the second case when two tags are requested the result should be like RelatedTags Tag Count 3 1 4 1 I have get the first thing working by converting a sql query in linqer, but that seems like a hell. so want to know if there is any better idea. • WCF data services - Limiting related objects returned based on critera

  I have an object graph consisting of a base employee object, and a set of related message objects. I am able to return the employee objects based on search criteria on the employee properties (eg team) etc. However, if I expand on the messages, I get the full collection of messages back. I would like to be able to either take the top n messages (i.e. restrict to 10 most recent) or ideally use a date range on the message objects to limit how many are brought back. So far I have not been able to figure out a way of doing this: I get an error if I attempt to filter on properties on the message (&$filter=employee/message/StartDate gives an error "No property 'StartDate' exists in type 'System.Data.Objects.DataClasses.EntityCollection`1). Attempting to use Top on the message related object doesn't work either. I have also tried using a WebGet extension that takes a string list of employee IDs. That works until the list gets too long, and then fails due to the URL getting too long (it might be possible to setup a paging mechanism on this approach)... Unfortunately the UI control I am using requires the data to be in a fairly specific hierarchical shape, so I can't easily come at this from starting on the message side and working backwards. Outside of making multiple calls does anyone know of a method to accomplish this with wcf data services? Thanks! M.

• Where can I get software-related legal advice?

  Whenever someone asks a legal question here on SO, the response is usually something along the lines of "we are not lawyers." Okay, that's legitimate, but in that case, how can I talk to a lawyer about software-related legal matters? I could look through the phone book and find a local lawyer, but then I have no way of knowing whether the lawyer knows anything about software. (And I hear most local lawyers charge for your time, even if it's just a simple question.) Is there maybe some kind of online service for this sort of thing? For now, I'm just looking for some basic advice, so something free would be awesome, even if the "quality" is not as good. However, I'll still take any kind of paid services--I'll keep them in mind for the future. You can give me anything from a forum or QA site (like this one) to a professional service. Just remember that I'm looking specifically for software-related legal advice. I'm sure most lawyers know a thing or two about software, but I'd rather talk to someone who legitimately knows his stuff than someone who can only guess.
