• Google Chrome "window.open" workaround?

  Hi Folks! I have been working on a web app and for part of it I need to open a new window. I have this working on all browsers, my sticking point is with Google Chrome. Chrome seems to ignore the window features which is causing me issues, the thing I'm struggling with is I need the address bar to be editable within the new window. FF, IE, Safari and Opera do this fine, Chrome does not. • Black flicker while resizing translucent Qt widget (only when Aero is enabled)?

  I have a top-level Qt widget with the FramelessWindowHint flag and the WA_TranslucentBackground attribute set. It has several children, each of which draws an image on it. They are not in a layout. Instead, I simply move them around when something changes (it is not user-resizable). There are two states to the window - a big state and a small state. When I switch between them, I resize the window and reposition the children. The problem is that as the window resizes, a black box is briefly flashed on the top-level window before the images are painted over it. The problem goes away if I disable Aero. I found brief mention of this problem being fixed in an article describing a new release of Qt (this release is long past), but it still doesn't work. Any ideas why? Thanks!

Note that these change depending on the product loaded. These are not constants. I would guess the first thing to do was to add the thickbox class. Then I am lost as to what to do next. Basically I need to open up an thickbox iframe with the modified markup.

• Google Chrome window.open height includes URL bar

  When we open a window using: window.open("/calendar",'calendar','width=950,height=576,titlebar=no,statusbar=no,menubar=no,resizable=no,scrollbars=no'); Firefox 3 and IE 7 open it to have a content area height of 576 plus the browser items (URL bar, status bar, etc). Chrome however opens it to have a total height of 576 meaning a scrollbar appears to the right of the content (and then the bottom because the width is now reduced). How can I get around this? It's for a heavy layout part of a web app so it's not just a matter of "let the user scroll", the client doesn't want that. Has anyone come across this? I don't mind browser sniffing and opening the window bigger, but I know that's yucky these days.

Each time a link is clicked, the attribute src is printed inside of the dialog box so that each link has a unique output in the dialog.
