  • LINQ and conversion operators

    - by vik20000in
    LINQ has a habit of returning things as IEnumerable. But we have all been working with so many other format of lists like array ilist, dictionary etc that most of the time after having the result set we want to get them converted to one of our known format. For this reason LINQ has come up with helper method which can convert the result set in the desired format. Below is an example var sortedDoubles =         from d in doubles         orderby d descending         select d;     var doublesArray = sortedDoubles.ToArray(); This way we can also transfer the data to IList and Dictionary objects. Let’s say we have an array of Objects. The array contains all different types of data like double, int, null, string etc and we want only one type of data back then also we can use the helper function ofType. Below is an example     object[] numbers = { null, 1.0, "two", 3, "four", 5, "six", 7.0 };     var doubles = numbers.OfType<double>(); Vikram

  • Find The Bug

    - by Alois Kraus
    What does this code print and why?             HashSet<int> set = new HashSet<int>();             int[] data = new int[] { 1, 2, 1, 2 };             var unique = from i in data                          where set.Add(i)                          select i;   // Compiles to: var unique = Enumerable.Where(data, (i) => set.Add(i));             foreach (var i in unique)             {                 Console.WriteLine("First: {0}", i);             }               foreach (var i in unique)             {                 Console.WriteLine("Second: {0}", i);             }   The output is: First: 1 First: 2 Why is there no output of the second loop? The reason is that LINQ does not cache the results of the collection but it does recalculate the contents for every new enumeration again. Since I have used state (the Hashset does decide which entries are part of the output) I do arrive with an empty sequence since Add of the Hashset will return false for all values I have already passed in leaving nothing to return a second time. The solution is quite simple: Use the Distinct extension method or cache the results by calling .ToList() or ToArray() for the result of the LINQ query. Lession Learned: Do never forget to think about state in Where clauses!

  • creating bounding box list

    - by Christian Frantz
    I'm trying to create a list of bounding boxes for each cube drawn, so I can use the boxes to intersect with a ray that my mouse position is casting, but I have no idea how. I've created a list that stores the boxes, but how am I getting the values from each box? for (int x = 0; x < mapHeight; x++) { for (int z = 0; z < mapWidth; z++) { cubes.Add(new Vector3(x, map[x, z], z), Matrix.Identity, grass); boxList.Add(something here); } } public Cube(GraphicsDevice graphicsDevice) { device = graphicsDevice; var vertices = new List<VertexPositionTexture>(); BuildFace(vertices, new Vector3(0, 0, 0), new Vector3(0, 1, 1)); BuildFace(vertices, new Vector3(0, 0, 1), new Vector3(1, 1, 1)); BuildFace(vertices, new Vector3(1, 0, 1), new Vector3(1, 1, 0)); BuildFace(vertices, new Vector3(1, 0, 0), new Vector3(0, 1, 0)); BuildFaceHorizontal(vertices, new Vector3(0, 1, 0), new Vector3(1, 1, 1)); BuildFaceHorizontal(vertices, new Vector3(0, 0, 1), new Vector3(1, 0, 0)); cubeVertexBuffer = new VertexBuffer(device, VertexPositionTexture.VertexDeclaration, vertices.Count, BufferUsage.WriteOnly); cubeVertexBuffer.SetData<VertexPositionTexture>(vertices.ToArray()); } There aren't any clearly defined variables for the bounds of each cube created, so where do I create the bounding box from?

  • Creating a Sandboxed Instance

    - by Ricardo Peres
    In .NET 4.0 the policy APIs have changed a bit. Here's how you can create a sandboxed instance of a type, which must inherit from MarshalByRefObject: static T CreateRestrictedType<T>(SecurityZone zone, params Assembly [] fullTrustAssemblies) where T : MarshalByRefObject, new() { return(CreateRestrictedType<T>(zone, fullTrustAssemblies, new IPermission [0]); } static T CreateRestrictedType<T>(SecurityZone zone, params IPermission [] additionalPermissions) where T : MarshalByRefObject, new() { return(CreateRestrictedType<T>(zone, new Assembly [0], additionalPermissions); } static T CreateRestrictedType<T>(SecurityZone zone, Assembly [] fullTrustAssemblies, IPermission [] additionalPermissions) where T : MarshalByRefObject, new() { Evidence evidence = new Evidence(); evidence.AddHostEvidence(new Zone(zone)); PermissionSet evidencePermissionSet = SecurityManager.GetStandardSandbox(evidence); foreach (IPermission permission in additionalPermissions ?? new IPermission[ 0 ]) { evidencePermissionSet.AddPermission(permission); } StrongName [] strongNames = (fullTrustAssemblies ?? new Assembly[0]).Select(a = a.Evidence.GetHostEvidence<StrongName>()).ToArray(); AppDomainSetup adSetup = new AppDomainSetup(); adSetup.ApplicationBase = Path.GetDirectoryName(typeof(T).Assembly.Location); AppDomain newDomain = AppDomain.CreateDomain("Sandbox", evidence, adSetup, evidencePermissionSet, strongNames); ObjectHandle handle = Activator.CreateInstanceFrom(newDomain, typeof(T).Assembly.ManifestModule.FullyQualifiedName, typeof(T).FullName); return (handle.Unwrap() as T); } SyntaxHighlighter.config.clipboardSwf = 'http://alexgorbatchev.com/pub/sh/2.0.320/scripts/clipboard.swf'; SyntaxHighlighter.brushes.CSharp.aliases = ['c#', 'c-sharp', 'csharp']; SyntaxHighlighter.all();

  • Change a Foreign Action's Display Text

    - by Geertjan
    I want the display text on an Action on a Node to show something about the underlying object. But the Action is registered somewhere in the layer (i.e., in the registry), i.e., I have no control over it. How do I change the display text in this scenario? Here's how. Below I look in the Actions/Events folder, iterate through all the Actions registered there, look for an Action with display text starting with "Edit", change it to display something from the underlying object, wrap a new Action around that Action, build up a new list of Actions, and return those (together with all the other Actions in that folder) from "getActions" on my Node: @Override public Action[] getActions(boolean context) { List<Action> newEventActions = new ArrayList<Action>(); List<? extends Action> eventActions = Utilities.actionsForPath("Actions/Events"); for (final Action action : eventActions) { String value = action.getValue(Action.NAME).toString(); if (value.startsWith("Edit")) { Action editAction = new AbstractAction("Edit " + getLookup().lookup(Event.class).getPlace()) { @Override public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) { action.actionPerformed(e); } }; newEventActions.add(editAction); } else { newEventActions.add(action); } } return newEventActions.toArray(new Action[eventActions.size()]); } If someone knows of a better way, please let me know.

  • JSON Support in Azure

    - by kaleidoscope
    Please find how we call JavaScript Object Notation in cloud applications. As we all know how client script is useful in web applications in terms of performance.           Same we can use JQuery in Asp.net using Cloud  computing which will  asynchronously pull any messages out of the table(cloud storage)  and display them in the     browser by invoking a method on a controller that returns JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) in a well-known shape. Syntax : Suppose we want to write a  JQuery function which return some notification while end user interact with our application so use following syntax : public JsonResult GetMessages() {      if (User.Identity.IsAuthenticated)      {     UserTextNotification[] userToasts =           toastRepository.GetNotifications(User.Identity.Name);          object[] data =          (from UserTextNotification toast in userToasts          select new { title = toast.Title ?? "Notification",          text = toast.MessageText }).ToArray();           return Json(data, JsonRequestBehavior.AllowGet);      }         else            return Json(null); } Above function is used to check authentication and display message if user is not exists in Table. Plateform :   ASP.NET 3.5  MVC 1   Under Visual Studio 2008  . Please find below link for more detail : http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/ee335721.aspx   Chandraprakash, S

  • XNA shield effect with a Primative sphere problem

    - by Sparky41
    I'm having issue with a shield effect i'm trying to develop. I want to do a shield effect that surrounds part of a model like this: http://i.imgur.com/jPvrf.png I currently got this: http://i.imgur.com/Jdin7.png (The red likes are a simple texture a black background with a red cross in it, for testing purposes: http://i.imgur.com/ODtzk.png where the smaller cross in the middle shows the contact point) This sphere is drawn via a primitive (DrawIndexedPrimitives) This is how i calculate the pieces of the sphere using a class i've called Sphere (this class is based off the code here: http://xbox.create.msdn.com/en-US/education/catalog/sample/primitives_3d) public class Sphere { // During the process of constructing a primitive model, vertex // and index data is stored on the CPU in these managed lists. The Draw method is called in the master draw method in the Gamecomponent. My current thoughts on this are: The direction of the weapon hitting the ship is used to get the middle position for the texture Wrap a texture around the drawn sphere based on this point of contact Problem is i'm not sure how to do this. Can anyone help or if you have a better idea please tell me i'm open for opinion? :-) Thanks.

  • How do I implement SkyBox in xna 4.0 Reach Profile (for Windows Phone 7)?

    - by Biny
    I'm trying to Implement SkyBox in my phone game. Most of the samples in the web are for HiDef profile, and they are using custom effects (that not supported on Windows Phone). I've tried to follow this guide. But for some reason my SkyBox is not rendered. This is my SkyBox class: using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using Microsoft.Xna.Framework; using Microsoft.Xna.Framework.Graphics; using Rocuna.Core; using Rocuna.GameEngine.Graphics; using Rocuna.GameEngine.Graphics.Components; namespace Rocuna.GameEngine.Extension.WP7.Graphics { /// <summary> /// Sky box element for phone games. /// </summary> public class SkyBox : SkyBoxBase { /// <summary> /// Initializes a new instance of the <see cref="SkyBoxBase"/> class. /// </summary> /// <param name="game">The Game that the game component should be attached to.</param> public SkyBox(TextureCube cube, Game game) : base(game) { Cube = cube; CubeFaces = new Texture2D[6]; PositionOffset = new Vector3(20, 20, 20); CreateGraphic(512); StripTexturesFromCube(); InitializeData(Game.GraphicsDevice); } #region Properties /// <summary> /// Gets or sets the position offset. /// </summary> /// <value> /// The position offset. /// </value> public Vector3 PositionOffset { get; set; } /// <summary> /// Gets or sets the position. /// </summary> /// <value> /// The position. /// </value> public Vector3 Position { get; set; } /// <summary> /// Gets or sets the cube. /// </summary> /// <value> /// The cube. /// </value> public TextureCube Cube { get; set; } /// <summary> /// Gets or sets the pixel array. /// </summary> /// <value> /// The pixel array. /// </value> public Color[] PixelArray { get; set; } /// <summary> /// Gets or sets the cube faces. /// </summary> /// <value> /// The cube faces. /// </value> public Texture2D[] CubeFaces { get; set; } /// <summary> /// Gets or sets the vertex buffer. /// </summary> /// <value> /// The vertex buffer. /// </value> public VertexBuffer VertexBuffer { get; set; } /// <summary> /// Gets or sets the index buffer. /// </summary> /// <value> /// The index buffer. /// </value> public IndexBuffer IndexBuffer { get; set; } /// <summary> /// Gets or sets the effect. /// </summary> /// <value> /// The effect. /// </value> public BasicEffect Effect { get; set; } #endregion protected override void LoadContent() { } public override void Update(GameTime gameTime) { var camera = Game.GetService<GraphicManager>().CurrentCamera; this.Position = camera.Position + PositionOffset; base.Update(gameTime); } public override void Draw(GameTime gameTime) { DrawOrder = int.MaxValue; var graphics = Effect.GraphicsDevice; graphics.DepthStencilState = new DepthStencilState() { DepthBufferEnable = false }; graphics.RasterizerState = new RasterizerState() { CullMode = CullMode.None }; graphics.BlendState = new BlendState(); graphics.SamplerStates[0] = SamplerState.AnisotropicClamp; graphics.SetVertexBuffer(VertexBuffer); graphics.Indices = IndexBuffer; Effect.Texture = CubeFaces[0]; Effect.CurrentTechnique.Passes[0].Apply(); graphics.DrawIndexedPrimitives(PrimitiveType.TriangleList, 0, 0, _vertices.Count, 0, 2); Effect.Texture = CubeFaces[1]; Effect.CurrentTechnique.Passes[0].Apply(); graphics.DrawIndexedPrimitives(PrimitiveType.TriangleList, 0, 0, _vertices.Count, 6, 2); Effect.Texture = CubeFaces[2]; Effect.CurrentTechnique.Passes[0].Apply(); graphics.DrawIndexedPrimitives(PrimitiveType.TriangleList, 0, 0, _vertices.Count, 12, 2); Effect.Texture = CubeFaces[3]; Effect.CurrentTechnique.Passes[0].Apply(); graphics.DrawIndexedPrimitives(PrimitiveType.TriangleList, 0, 0, _vertices.Count, 18, 2); Effect.Texture = CubeFaces[4]; Effect.CurrentTechnique.Passes[0].Apply(); graphics.DrawIndexedPrimitives(PrimitiveType.TriangleList, 0, 0, _vertices.Count, 24, 2); Effect.Texture = CubeFaces[5]; Effect.CurrentTechnique.Passes[0].Apply(); graphics.DrawIndexedPrimitives(PrimitiveType.TriangleList, 0, 0, _vertices.Count, 30, 2); base.Draw(gameTime); } #region Fields private List<VertexPositionNormalTexture> _vertices = new List<VertexPositionNormalTexture>(); private List<ushort> _indices = new List<ushort>(); #endregion #region Private methods private void InitializeData(GraphicsDevice graphicsDevice) { VertexBuffer = new VertexBuffer(graphicsDevice, typeof(VertexPositionNormalTexture), _vertices.Count, BufferUsage.None); VertexBuffer.SetData<VertexPositionNormalTexture>(_vertices.ToArray()); // Create an index buffer, and copy our index data into it.   • DataContractSerializer truncated string when used with MemoryStream,but works with StringWriter

    - by Michael Freidgeim
    We've used the following DataContractSerializeToXml method for a long time, but recently noticed, that it doesn't return full XML for a long object, but  truncated it and returns XML string with the length of  multiple-of-1024 , but the reminder is not included. internal static string DataContractSerializeToXml<T>(T obj) { string strXml = ""; Type type= obj.GetType();//typeof(T) DataContractSerializer serializer = new DataContractSerializer(type); System.IO.MemoryStream aMemStr = new System.IO.MemoryStream(); System.Xml.XmlTextWriter writer = new System.Xml.XmlTextWriter(aMemStr, null); serializer.WriteObject(writer, obj); strXml = System.Text.Encoding.UTF8.GetString(aMemStr.ToArray()); return strXml; }   I tried to debug and searched Google for similar problems, but didn't find explanation of the error. The most closed http://forums.codeguru.com/showthread.php?309479-MemoryStream-allocates-size-multiple-of-1024-( talking about incorrect length, but not about truncated string.fortunately replacing MemoryStream to StringWriter according to http://billrob.com/archive/2010/02/09/datacontractserializer-converting-objects-to-xml-string.aspxfixed the issue.   1: var serializer = new DataContractSerializer(tempData.GetType());   2: using (var backing = new System.IO.StringWriter())   3: using (var writer = new System.Xml.XmlTextWriter(backing))   4: {   5:     serializer.WriteObject(writer, tempData);   6:     data.XmlData = backing.ToString();   7: }v

  • How do i route TCP connections via TOR? [on hold]

    - by acidzombie24
    I was reading about torchat which is essentially an anonymous chat program. It sounded cool so i wanted to experiment with making my own. First i wrote a test to grab a webpage using Http. Sicne .NET doesnt support SOCKS4A/SOCKS5 i used privoxy and my app worked. Then i switch to a TCP echo test and privoxy doesnt support TCP so i searched and installed 6+ proxy apps (freecap, socat, freeproxy, delegate are the ones i can remember from the top of my head, i also played with putty bc i know it supports tunnels and SOCK5) but i couldnt successfully get any of them to work let alone get it running with my http test that privoxy easily and painlessly did. What may i use to get TCP connections going through TOR? I spent more then 2 hours without success. I don't know if i am looking for a relay, tunnel, forwarder, proxy or a proxychain which all came up in my search. I use the config below for .NET. I need TCP working but i am first testing with http since i know i had it working using privoxy. What apps and configs do i use to get TCP going through tor? <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <configuration> <system.net> <defaultProxy enabled="true"> <proxy bypassonlocal="True" proxyaddress="http://127.0.0.1:8118"/> </defaultProxy> <settings> <httpWebRequest useUnsafeHeaderParsing="true"/> </settings> </system.net> </configuration> -edit- Thanks to Bernd i have a solution. Here is the code i ended up writing. It isn't amazing but its fair. static NetworkStream ConnectSocksProxy(string proxyDomain, short proxyPort, string host, short hostPort, TcpClient tc) { tc.Connect(proxyDomain, proxyPort); if (System.Text.RegularExpressions.Regex.IsMatch(host, @"[\:/\\]")) throw new Exception("Invalid Host name. Use FQDN such as www.google.com. Do not have http, a port or / in it"); NetworkStream ns = tc.GetStream(); var HostNameBuf = new ASCIIEncoding().GetBytes(host); var HostPortBuf = BitConverter.GetBytes(IPAddress.HostToNetworkOrder(hostPort)); if (true) //5 { var bufout = new byte[128]; var buflen = 0; ns.Write(new byte[] { 5, 1, 0 }, 0, 3); buflen = ns.Read(bufout, 0, bufout.Length); if (buflen != 2 || bufout[0] != 5 || bufout[1] != 0) throw new Exception(); var buf = new byte[] { 5, 1, 0, 3, (byte)HostNameBuf.Length }; var mem = new MemoryStream(); mem.Write(buf, 0, buf.Length); mem.Write(HostNameBuf, 0, HostNameBuf.Length); mem.Write(new byte[] { HostPortBuf[0], HostPortBuf[1] }, 0, 2); var memarr = mem.ToArray(); ns.Write(memarr, 0, memarr.Length); buflen = ns.Read(bufout, 0, bufout.Length); if (bufout[0] != 5 || bufout[1] != 0) throw new Exception(); } else //4a { var bufout = new byte[128]; var buflen = 0; var mem = new MemoryStream(); mem.WriteByte(4); mem.WriteByte(1); mem.Write(HostPortBuf, 0, 2); mem.Write(BitConverter.GetBytes(IPAddress.HostToNetworkOrder(1)), 0, 4); mem.WriteByte(0); mem.Write(HostNameBuf, 0, HostNameBuf.Length); mem.WriteByte(0); var memarr = mem.ToArray(); ns.Write(memarr, 0, memarr.Length); buflen = ns.Read(bufout, 0, bufout.Length); if (buflen != 8 || bufout[0] != 0 || bufout[1] != 90) throw new Exception(); } return ns; } Usage using (TcpClient client = new TcpClient()) using (var ns = ConnectSocksProxy("127.0.0.1", 9050, "website.com", 80, client)) {...}

    Okay I have a really annoying error. Its coming from my retainAll method. The problem is that I am outputting 1,3,5 in ints at the end, but I need 1,3,5,7,9. Here is the code below for the MySet and driver classes public class MySetTester { public static void main(String[]args) { MySet<String> strings = new MySet<String>(); strings.add("Hey!"); strings.add("Hey!"); strings.add("Hey!"); strings.add("Hey!"); strings.add("Hey!"); strings.add("Listen!"); strings.add("Listen!"); strings.add("Sorry, I couldn't resist."); strings.add("Sorry, I couldn't resist."); strings.add("(you know you would if you could)"); System.out.println("Testing add:\n"); System.out.println("Your size: " + strings.size() + ", contains(Sorry): " + strings.contains("Sorry, I couldn't resist.")); System.out.println("Exp. size: 4, contains(Sorry): true\n"); MySet<String> moreStrings = new MySet<String>(); moreStrings.add("Sorry, I couldn't resist."); moreStrings.add("(you know you would if you could)"); strings.removeAll(moreStrings); System.out.println("Testing remove and removeAll:\n"); System.out.println("Your size: " + strings.size() + ", contains(Sorry): " + strings.contains("Sorry, I couldn't resist.")); System.out.println("Exp. size: 2, contains(Sorry): false\n"); MySet<Integer> ints = new MySet<Integer>(); for (int i = 0; i < 100; i++) { ints.add(i); } System.out.println("Your size: " + ints.size()); System.out.println("Exp. size: 100\n"); for (int i = 0; i < 100; i += 2) { ints.remove(i); } System.out.println("Your size: " + ints.size()); System.out.println("Exp. size: 50\n"); MySet<Integer> zeroThroughNine = new MySet<Integer>(); for (int i = 0; i < 10; i++) { zeroThroughNine.add(i); } ints.retainAll(zeroThroughNine); System.out.println("ints should now only retain odd numbers" + " 0 through 10\n"); System.out.println("Testing your iterator:\n"); for (Integer i : ints) { System.out.println(i); } System.out.println("\nExpected: \n\n1 \n3 \n5 \n7 \n9\n"); System.out.println("Yours:"); for (String s : strings) { System.out.println(s); } System.out.println("\nExpected: \nHey! \nListen!"); strings.clear(); System.out.println("\nClearing your set...\n"); System.out.println("Your set is empty: " + strings.isEmpty()); System.out.println("Exp. set is empty: true"); } } And here is the main code. But still read the top part because that's where my examples are. import java.util.Set; import java.util.Collection; import java.lang.Iterable; import java.util.Iterator; import java.util.Arrays; import java.lang.reflect.Array; public class MySet implements Set, Iterable { // instance variables - replace the example below with your own private E[] backingArray; private int numElements; /** * Constructor for objects of class MySet */ public MySet() { backingArray=(E[]) new Object[5]; numElements=0; } public boolean add(E e){ for(Object elem:backingArray){ if (elem==null ? e==null : elem.equals(e)){ return false; } } if(numElements==backingArray.length){ E[] newArray=Arrays.copyOf(backingArray,backingArray.length*2); newArray[numElements]=e; numElements=numElements+1; backingArray=newArray; return true; } else{ backingArray[numElements]=e; numElements=numElements+1; return true; } } public boolean addAll(Collection<? extends E> c){ for(E elem:c){ this.add(elem); } return true; } public void clear(){ E[] newArray=(E[])new Object[backingArray.length]; numElements=0; backingArray=newArray; } public boolean equals(Object o){ if(o instanceof Set &&(((Set)o).size()==numElements)){ for(E elem:(Set<E>)o){ if (this.contains(o)==false){ return false; } return true; } } return false; } public boolean contains(Object o){ for(E backingElem:backingArray){ if (o!=null && o.equals(backingElem)){ return true; } } return false; } public boolean containsAll(Collection<?> c){ for(E elem:(Set<E>)c){ if(!(this.contains(elem))){ return false; } } return true; } public int hashCode(){ int sum=0; for(E elem:backingArray){ if(elem!=null){ sum=sum+elem.hashCode(); } } return sum; } public boolean isEmpty(){ if(numElements==0){ return true; } else{ return false; } } public boolean remove(Object o){ int i=0; for(Object elem:backingArray){ if(o!=null && o.equals(elem)){ backingArray[i]=null; numElements=numElements-1; E[] newArray=Arrays.copyOf(backingArray,backingArray.length-1); return true; } i=i+1; } return false; } public boolean removeAll(Collection<?> c){ for(Object elem:c){ this.remove(elem); } return true; } public boolean retainAll(Collection<?> c){ MySet<E> removalArray=new MySet<E>(); for(E arrayElem:backingArray){ if(arrayElem!= null && !(c.contains(arrayElem))){ this.remove(arrayElem); } } return false; } public int size(){ return numElements; } public <T> T[] toArray(T[] a) throws ArrayStoreException,NullPointerException{ for(int i=0;i<numElements;i++){ a[i]=(T)backingArray[i]; } for(int j=numElements;j<a.length;j++){ a[j]=null; } return a; } public Object[] toArray(){ Object[] newArray=new Object[numElements]; for(int i=0;i<numElements;i++){ newArray[i]=backingArray[i]; } return newArray; } public Iterator<E> iterator(){ setIterator iterator=new setIterator(); return iterator; } private class setIterator implements Iterator<E>{ private int currIndex; private E lastElement; public setIterator(){ currIndex=0; lastElement=null; } public boolean hasNext(){ while(currIndex<=numElements && backingArray[currIndex]==null){ currIndex=currIndex+1; } if (currIndex<=numElements){ return true; } return false; } public E next(){ E element=backingArray[currIndex]; currIndex=currIndex+1; lastElement=element; return element; } public void remove() throws UnsupportedOperationException,IllegalStateException{ if(lastElement!=null){ MySet.this.remove((Object)lastElement); numElements=numElements-1; } else{ throw new IllegalStateException(); } } } } I've been able to reduce the problems, but otherwise this thing is still causing problems.

  • EF4 POCO WCF Serialization problems (no lazy loading, proxy/no proxy, circular references, etc)

    - by kdawg
    OK, I want to make sure I cover my situation and everything I've tried thoroughly. I'm pretty sure what I need/want can be done, but I haven't quite found the perfect combination for success. I'm utilizing Entity Framework 4 RTM and its POCO support. I'm looking to query for an entity (Config) that contains a many-to-many relationship with another entity (App). I turn off lazy loading and disable proxy creation for the context and explicitly load the navigation property (either through .Include() or .LoadProperty()). However, when the navigation property is loaded (that is, Apps is loaded for a given Config), the App objects that were loaded already contain references to the Configs that have been brought to memory. This creates a circular reference. Now I know the DataContractSerializer that WCF uses can handle circular references, by setting the preserveObjectReferences parameter to true. I've tried this with a couple of different attribute implementations I've found online. It is needed to prevent the "the object graph contains circular references and cannot be serialized" error. However, it doesn't prevent the serialization of the entire graph, back and forth between Config and App. If I invoke it via WcfTestClient.exe, I get a stackoverflow (ha!) exception from the client and I'm hosed. I get different results from different invocation environments (C# unit test with a local reference to the web service appears to work ok though I still can drill back and forth between Configs and Apps endlessly, but calling it from a coldfusion environment only returns the first Config in the list and errors out on the others.) My main goal is to have a serialized representation of the graph I explicitly load from EF (ie: list of Configs, each with their Apps, but no App back to Config navigation.) NOTE: I've also tried using the ProxyDataContractResolver technique and keeping the proxy creation enabled from my context. This blows up complaining about unknown types encountered. I read that the ProxyDataContractResolver didn't fully work in Beta2, but should work in RTM. For some reference, here is roughly how I'm querying the data in the service: var repo = BootStrapper.AppCtx["AppMeta.ConfigRepository"] as IRepository<Config>; repo.DisableLazyLoading(); repo.DisableProxyCreation(); //var temp2 = repo.Include(cfg => cfg.Apps).Where(cfg => cfg.Environment.Equals(environment)).ToArray(); var temp2 = repo.FindAll(cfg => cfg.Environment.Equals(environment)).ToArray(); foreach (var cfg in temp2) { repo.LoadProperty(cfg, c => c.Apps); } return temp2; I think the crux of my problem is when loading up navigation properties for POCO objects from Entity Framework 4, it prepopulates navigation properties for objects already in memory. This in turn hoses up the WCF serialization, despite every effort made to properly handle circular references. I know it's a lot of information, but it's really standing in my way of going forward with EF4/POCO in our system. I've found several articles and blogs touching upon these subjects, but for the life of me, I cannot resolve this issue. Feel free to simply ask questions and help me brainstorm this situation. PS: For the sake of being thorough, I am injecting the WCF services using the HEAD build of Spring.NET for the fix to Spring.ServiceModel.Activation.ServiceHostFactory. However I don't think this is the source of the problem.

  • Recognize objects in image

    - by DoomStone
    Hello I am in the process of doing a school project, where we have a robot driving on the ground in between Flamingo plates. We need to create an algorithm that can identify the locations of these plates, so we can create paths around them (We are using A Star for that). So far have we worked with AForged Library and we have created the following class, the only problem with this is that when it create the rectangles dose it not take in account that the plates are not always parallel with the camera border, and it that case will it just create a rectangle that cover the whole plate. So we need to some way find the rotation on the object, or another way to identify this. I have create an image that might help explain this Image the describe the problem: http://img683.imageshack.us/img683/9835/imagerectangle.png Any help on how I can do this would be greatly appreciated. • C# asp.net EF MVC postgresql error 23505: Duplicate key violates unique constraint

    - by user2721755
    EDIT: It was issue with database table - dropping and recreating table id column did the work. Problem solved. I'm trying to build web application, that is connected to postgresql database. Results are displaying in view with Kendo UI. When I'm trying to add new row (with Kendo UI 'Add new record' button), I get error 23505: 'Duplicate key violates unique constraint'. My guess is, that EF takes id to insert from the beginning, not the last one, because after 35 (it's number of rows in table) tries - and errors - adding works perfectly. • REST web service keeps first POST parametrs

    - by Diego
    I have a web service in REST, designed with Java and deployed on Tomcat. This is the web service structure: @Path("Personas") public class Personas { @Context private UriInfo context; /** * Creates a new instance of ServiceResource */ public Personas() { } @GET @Produces("text/html") public String consultarEdad (@QueryParam("nombre") String nombre) { ConectorCliente c = new ConectorCliente("root", "cafe.sql", "test"); int edad = c.consultarEdad(nombre); if (edad == Integer.MIN_VALUE) return "-1"; return String.valueOf(edad); } @POST @Produces("text/html") public String insertarPersona(@QueryParam("nombre") String msg, @QueryParam("edad") int edad) { ConectorCliente c = new ConectorCliente("usr", "passwd", "dbname"); c.agregar(msg, edad); return "listo"; } } Where ConectorCliente class is MySQL connector and querying class. So, I had tested this with the @GET actually doing POST work, any user inputed data and information from ma Java FX app and it went direct to webservice's database. However, I changed so the CREATE operation was performed through a webservice responding to an actual POST HTTP request. However, when I run the client and add some info, parameters go OK, but in next time I input different parameters it'll input the same. I run this several times and I can't get the reason of it. This is the clients code: public class WebServicePersonasConsumer { private WebTarget webTarget; private Client client; private static final String BASE_URI = "http://localhost:8080/GetSomeRest/serviciosweb/"; public WebServicePersonasConsumer() { client = javax.ws.rs.client.ClientBuilder.newClient(); webTarget = client.target(BASE_URI).path("Personas"); } public <T> T insertarPersona(Class<T> responseType, String nombre, String edad) throws ClientErrorException { String[] queryParamNames = new String[]{"nombre", "edad"}; String[] queryParamValues = new String[]{nombre, edad}; ; javax.ws.rs.core.Form form = getQueryOrFormParams(queryParamNames, queryParamValues); javax.ws.rs.core.MultivaluedMap<String, String> map = form.asMap(); for (java.util.Map.Entry<String, java.util.List<String>> entry : map.entrySet()) { java.util.List<String> list = entry.getValue(); String[] values = list.toArray(new String[list.size()]); webTarget = webTarget.queryParam(entry.getKey(), (Object[]) values); } return webTarget.request().post(null, responseType); } public <T> T consultarEdad(Class<T> responseType, String nombre) throws ClientErrorException { String[] queryParamNames = new String[]{"nombre"}; String[] queryParamValues = new String[]{nombre}; ; javax.ws.rs.core.Form form = getQueryOrFormParams(queryParamNames, queryParamValues); javax.ws.rs.core.MultivaluedMap<String, String> map = form.asMap(); for (java.util.Map.Entry<String, java.util.List<String>> entry : map.entrySet()) { java.util.List<String> list = entry.getValue(); String[] values = list.toArray(new String[list.size()]); webTarget = webTarget.queryParam(entry.getKey(), (Object[]) values); } return webTarget.request(javax.ws.rs.core.MediaType.TEXT_HTML).get(responseType); } private Form getQueryOrFormParams(String[] paramNames, String[] paramValues) { Form form = new javax.ws.rs.core.Form(); for (int i = 0; i < paramNames.length; i++) { if (paramValues[i] != null) { form = form.param(paramNames[i], paramValues[i]); } } return form; } public void close() { client.close(); } } And this this the code when I perform the operations in a Java FX app: String nombre = nombreTextField.getText(); String edad = edadTextField.getText(); String insertToDatabase = consumidor.insertarPersona(String.class, nombre, edad); So, as parameters are taken from TextFields, is quite odd why second, third, fourth and so on POSTS post the SAME.

  • onCommand on button not firing inside gridView??

    - by sah302
    This is really driving me crazy. I've got a button inside a gridview to remove that item from the gridview (its datasource is a list). I've got the list being saved to session anytime a change is being made to it, and on page_load check if that session variable is empty, if not, then set that list to bind to the gridview. Code Behind: Public accomplishmentTypeDao As New AccomplishmentTypeDao() Public accomplishmentDao As New AccomplishmentDao() Public userDao As New UserDao() Public facultyDictionary As New Dictionary(Of Guid, String) Public facultyList As New List(Of User) Public associatedFaculty As New List(Of User) Public facultyId As New Guid Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load 'If Not Session("associatedFaculty") Is Nothing Then' ' Dim associatedFacultyArray As User() = DirectCast(Session("associatedFaculty"), User())' ' associatedFaculty = associatedFacultyArray.ToList()' 'End If' Page.Title = "Add a New Faculty Accomplishment" ddlAccomplishmentType.DataSource = accomplishmentTypeDao.getEntireTable() ddlAccomplishmentType.DataTextField = "Name" ddlAccomplishmentType.DataValueField = "Id" ddlAccomplishmentType.DataBind() facultyList = userDao.getListOfUsersByUserGroupName("Faculty") For Each faculty As User In facultyList facultyDictionary.Add(faculty.Id, faculty.LastName & ", " & faculty.FirstName) Next If Not Page.IsPostBack Then ddlFacultyList.DataSource = facultyDictionary ddlFacultyList.DataTextField = "Value" ddlFacultyList.DataValueField = "Key" ddlFacultyList.DataBind() End If gvAssociatedUsers.DataSource = associatedFaculty gvAssociatedUsers.DataBind() End Sub Protected Sub deleteUser(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Web.UI.WebControls.CommandEventArgs) facultyId = New Guid(e.CommandArgument.ToString()) associatedFaculty.Remove(associatedFaculty.Find(Function(user) user.Id = facultyId)) Session("associatedFaculty") = associatedFaculty.ToArray() gvAssociatedUsers.DataBind() upAssociatedFaculty.Update() End Sub Protected Sub btnAddUser_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs) Handles btnAddUser.Click facultyId = New Guid(ddlFacultyList.SelectedValue) associatedFaculty.Add(facultyList.Find(Function(user) user.Id = facultyId)) Session.Add("associatedFaculty", associatedFaculty.ToArray()) gvAssociatedUsers.DataBind() upAssociatedFaculty.Update() End Sub Protected Sub Delete(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Web.UI.WebControls.CommandEventArgs) End Sub End Class Markup: <asp:UpdatePanel ID="upAssociatedFaculty" runat="server" UpdateMode="Conditional"> <ContentTemplate> <p><b>Created By:</b> <asp:Label ID="lblCreatedBy" runat="server"></asp:Label></p> <p><b>Accomplishment Type: </b><asp:DropDownList ID="ddlAccomplishmentType" runat="server"></asp:DropDownList></p> <p><b>Accomplishment Applies To: </b><asp:DropDownList ID="ddlFacultyList" runat="server"></asp:DropDownList> &nbsp;<asp:Button ID="btnAddUser" runat="server" Text="Add Faculty" OnClientClick="incrementCounter();" /></p> <p> <asp:GridView ID="gvAssociatedUsers" runat="server" AutoGenerateColumns="false" GridLines="None" ShowHeader="false"> <Columns> <asp:BoundField DataField="Id" HeaderText="Id" Visible="False" /> <asp:TemplateField ShowHeader="False"> <ItemTemplate> <span style="margin-left: 15px;"> <p><%#Eval("LastName")%>, <%#Eval("FirstName")%> <asp:Button ID="btnUnassignUser" runat="server" CausesValidation="false" CommandArgument='<%# Eval("Id") %>' CommandName="Delete" OnCommand="deleteUser" Text='Remove' /></p> </span> </ItemTemplate> </asp:TemplateField> </Columns> <EmptyDataTemplate> <em>There are currently no faculty associated with this accomplishment.</em> </EmptyDataTemplate> </asp:GridView> </p> </ContentTemplate> </asp:UpdatePanel> Now here is the crazy part I am simply boggled by, if I uncomment the If Not Session... block of page_load, then deleteUser will never fire when btnUnassignUser is clicked. If I keep it commented out...it fires no problem, but then of course my list can never have more than one item since I am not loading the saved list from session into the gridview but just a fresh one. But the button click is being registered, because page_load is being stepped through again when I am viewing in debug mode, just deleteUser never fires. Why is this happening?? And how can I fix it??

  • C#/.NET Little Wonders: ConcurrentBag and BlockingCollection

    - by James Michael Hare
    In the first week of concurrent collections, began with a general introduction and discussed the ConcurrentStack<T> and ConcurrentQueue<T>.  The last post discussed the ConcurrentDictionary<T> .  Finally this week, we shall close with a discussion of the ConcurrentBag<T> and BlockingCollection<T>. For more of the "Little Wonders" posts, see C#/.NET Little Wonders: A Redux. Recap As you'll recall from the previous posts, the original collections were object-based containers that accomplished synchronization through a Synchronized member.  With the advent of .NET 2.0, the original collections were succeeded by the generic collections which are fully type-safe, but eschew automatic synchronization.  With .NET 4.0, a new breed of collections was born in the System.Collections.Concurrent namespace.  Of these, the final concurrent collection we will examine is the ConcurrentBag and a very useful wrapper class called the BlockingCollection. For some excellent information on the performance of the concurrent collections and how they perform compared to a traditional brute-force locking strategy, see this informative whitepaper by the Microsoft Parallel Computing Platform team here. ConcurrentBag<T> – Thread-safe unordered collection. Unlike the other concurrent collections, the ConcurrentBag<T> has no non-concurrent counterpart in the .NET collections libraries.  Items can be added and removed from a bag just like any other collection, but unlike the other collections, the items are not maintained in any order.  This makes the bag handy for those cases when all you care about is that the data be consumed eventually, without regard for order of consumption or even fairness – that is, it’s possible new items could be consumed before older items given the right circumstances for a period of time. So why would you ever want a container that can be unfair?  Well, to look at it another way, you can use a ConcurrentQueue and get the fairness, but it comes at a cost in that the ordering rules and synchronization required to maintain that ordering can affect scalability a bit.  Thus sometimes the bag is great when you want the fastest way to get the next item to process, and don’t care what item it is or how long its been waiting. The way that the ConcurrentBag works is to take advantage of the new ThreadLocal<T> type (new in System.Threading for .NET 4.0) so that each thread using the bag has a list local to just that thread.  This means that adding or removing to a thread-local list requires very low synchronization.  The problem comes in where a thread goes to consume an item but it’s local list is empty.  In this case the bag performs “work-stealing” where it will rob an item from another thread that has items in its list.  This requires a higher level of synchronization which adds a bit of overhead to the take operation. So, as you can imagine, this makes the ConcurrentBag good for situations where each thread both produces and consumes items from the bag, but it would be less-than-idea in situations where some threads are dedicated producers and the other threads are dedicated consumers because the work-stealing synchronization would outweigh the thread-local optimization for a thread taking its own items. Like the other concurrent collections, there are some curiosities to keep in mind: IsEmpty(), Count, ToArray(), and GetEnumerator() lock collection Each of these needs to take a snapshot of whole bag to determine if empty, thus they tend to be more expensive and cause Add() and Take() operations to block. ToArray() and GetEnumerator() are static snapshots Because it is based on a snapshot, will not show subsequent updates after snapshot. Add() is lightweight Since adding to the thread-local list, there is very little overhead on Add. TryTake() is lightweight if items in thread-local list As long as items are in the thread-local list, TryTake() is very lightweight, much more so than ConcurrentStack() and ConcurrentQueue(), however if the local thread list is empty, it must steal work from another thread, which is more expensive. Remember, a bag is not ideal for all situations, it is mainly ideal for situations where a process consumes an item and either decomposes it into more items to be processed, or handles the item partially and places it back to be processed again until some point when it will complete.  The main point is that the bag works best when each thread both takes and adds items. For example, we could create a totally contrived example where perhaps we want to see the largest power of a number before it crosses a certain threshold.  Yes, obviously we could easily do this with a log function, but bare with me while I use this contrived example for simplicity. So let’s say we have a work function that will take a Tuple out of a bag, this Tuple will contain two ints.  The first int is the original number, and the second int is the last multiple of that number.  So we could load our bag with the initial values (let’s say we want to know the last multiple of each of 2, 3, 5, and 7 under 100. 1: var bag = new ConcurrentBag<Tuple<int, int>> 2: { 3: Tuple.Create(2, 1), 4: Tuple.Create(3, 1), 5: Tuple.Create(5, 1), 6: Tuple.Create(7, 1) 7: }; Then we can create a method that given the bag, will take out an item, apply the multiplier again, 1: public static void FindHighestPowerUnder(ConcurrentBag<Tuple<int,int>> bag, int threshold) 2: { 3: Tuple<int,int> pair; 4:  5: // while there are items to take, this will prefer local first, then steal if no local 6: while (bag.TryTake(out pair)) 7: { 8: // look at next power 9: var result = Math.Pow(pair.Item1, pair.Item2 + 1); 10:  11: if (result < threshold) 12: { 13: // if smaller than threshold bump power by 1 14: bag.Add(Tuple.Create(pair.Item1, pair.Item2 + 1)); 15: } 16: else 17: { 18: // otherwise, we're done 19: Console.WriteLine("Highest power of {0} under {3} is {0}^{1} = {2}.", 20: pair.Item1, pair.Item2, Math.Pow(pair.Item1, pair.Item2), threshold); 21: } 22: } 23: } Now that we have this, we can load up this method as an Action into our Tasks and run it: 1: // create array of tasks, start all, wait for all 2: var tasks = new[] 3: { 4: new Task(() => FindHighestPowerUnder(bag, 100)), 5: new Task(() => FindHighestPowerUnder(bag, 100)), 6: }; 7:  8: Array.ForEach(tasks, t => t.Start()); 9:  10: Task.WaitAll(tasks); Totally contrived, I know, but keep in mind the main point!  When you have a thread or task that operates on an item, and then puts it back for further consumption – or decomposes an item into further sub-items to be processed – you should consider a ConcurrentBag as the thread-local lists will allow for quick processing.  However, if you need ordering or if your processes are dedicated producers or consumers, this collection is not ideal.  As with anything, you should performance test as your mileage will vary depending on your situation! BlockingCollection<T> – A producers & consumers pattern collection The BlockingCollection<T> can be treated like a collection in its own right, but in reality it adds a producers and consumers paradigm to any collection that implements the interface IProducerConsumerCollection<T>.  If you don’t specify one at the time of construction, it will use a ConcurrentQueue<T> as its underlying store. If you don’t want to use the ConcurrentQueue, the ConcurrentStack and ConcurrentBag also implement the interface (though ConcurrentDictionary does not).  In addition, you are of course free to create your own implementation of the interface. So, for those who don’t remember the producers and consumers classical computer-science problem, the gist of it is that you have one (or more) processes that are creating items (producers) and one (or more) processes that are consuming these items (consumers).  Now, the crux of the problem is that there is a bin (queue) where the produced items are placed, and typically that bin has a limited size.  Thus if a producer creates an item, but there is no space to store it, it must wait until an item is consumed.  Also if a consumer goes to consume an item and none exists, it must wait until an item is produced. The BlockingCollection makes it trivial to implement any standard producers/consumers process set by providing that “bin” where the items can be produced into and consumed from with the appropriate blocking operations.  In addition, you can specify whether the bin should have a limited size or can be (theoretically) unbounded, and you can specify timeouts on the blocking operations. As far as your choice of “bin”, for the most part the ConcurrentQueue is the right choice because it is fairly light and maximizes fairness by ordering items so that they are consumed in the same order they are produced.  You can use the concurrent bag or stack, of course, but your ordering would be random-ish in the case of the former and LIFO in the case of the latter. So let’s look at some of the methods of note in BlockingCollection: BoundedCapacity returns capacity of the “bin” If the bin is unbounded, the capacity is int.MaxValue. Count returns an internally-kept count of items This makes it O(1), but if you modify underlying collection directly (not recommended) it is unreliable. CompleteAdding() is used to cut off further adds. This sets IsAddingCompleted and begins to wind down consumers once empty. IsAddingCompleted is true when producers are “done”. Once you are done producing, should complete the add process to alert consumers. IsCompleted is true when producers are “done” and “bin” is empty. Once you mark the producers done, and all items removed, this will be true. Add() is a blocking add to collection. If bin is full, will wait till space frees up Take() is a blocking remove from collection. If bin is empty, will wait until item is produced or adding is completed. GetConsumingEnumerable() is used to iterate and consume items. Unlike the standard enumerator, this one consumes the items instead of iteration. TryAdd() attempts add but does not block completely If adding would block, returns false instead, can specify TimeSpan to wait before stopping. TryTake() attempts to take but does not block completely Like TryAdd(), if taking would block, returns false instead, can specify TimeSpan to wait. Note the use of CompleteAdding() to signal the BlockingCollection that nothing else should be added.  This means that any attempts to TryAdd() or Add() after marked completed will throw an InvalidOperationException.  In addition, once adding is complete you can still continue to TryTake() and Take() until the bin is empty, and then Take() will throw the InvalidOperationException and TryTake() will return false. So let’s create a simple program to try this out.  Let’s say that you have one process that will be producing items, but a slower consumer process that handles them.  This gives us a chance to peek inside what happens when the bin is bounded (by default, the bin is NOT bounded). 1: var bin = new BlockingCollection<int>(5); Now, we create a method to produce items: 1: public static void ProduceItems(BlockingCollection<int> bin, int numToProduce) 2: { 3: for (int i = 0; i < numToProduce; i++) 4: { 5: // try for 10 ms to add an item 6: while (!bin.TryAdd(i, TimeSpan.FromMilliseconds(10))) 7: { 8: Console.WriteLine("Bin is full, retrying..."); 9: } 10: } 11:  12: // once done producing, call CompleteAdding() 13: Console.WriteLine("Adding is completed."); 14: bin.CompleteAdding(); 15: } And one to consume them: 1: public static void ConsumeItems(BlockingCollection<int> bin) 2: { 3: // This will only be true if CompleteAdding() was called AND the bin is empty. 4: while (!bin.IsCompleted) 5: { 6: int item; 7:  8: if (!bin.TryTake(out item, TimeSpan.FromMilliseconds(10))) 9: { 10: Console.WriteLine("Bin is empty, retrying..."); 11: } 12: else 13: { 14: Console.WriteLine("Consuming item {0}.", item); 15: Thread.Sleep(TimeSpan.FromMilliseconds(20)); 16: } 17: } 18: } Then we can fire them off: 1: // create one producer and two consumers 2: var tasks = new[] 3: { 4: new Task(() => ProduceItems(bin, 20)), 5: new Task(() => ConsumeItems(bin)), 6: new Task(() => ConsumeItems(bin)), 7: }; 8:  9: Array.ForEach(tasks, t => t.Start()); 10:  11: Task.WaitAll(tasks); Notice that the producer is faster than the consumer, thus it should be hitting a full bin often and displaying the message after it times out on TryAdd(). 1: Consuming item 0. 2: Consuming item 1. 3: Bin is full, retrying... 4: Bin is full, retrying... 5: Consuming item 3. 6: Consuming item 2. 7: Bin is full, retrying... 8: Consuming item 4. 9: Consuming item 5. 10: Bin is full, retrying... 11: Consuming item 6. 12: Consuming item 7. 13: Bin is full, retrying... 14: Consuming item 8. 15: Consuming item 9. 16: Bin is full, retrying... 17: Consuming item 10. 18: Consuming item 11. 19: Bin is full, retrying... 20: Consuming item 12. 21: Consuming item 13. 22: Bin is full, retrying... 23: Bin is full, retrying... 24: Consuming item 14. 25: Adding is completed. 26: Consuming item 15. 27: Consuming item 16. 28: Consuming item 17. 29: Consuming item 19. 30: Consuming item 18. Also notice that once CompleteAdding() is called and the bin is empty, the IsCompleted property returns true, and the consumers will exit. Summary The ConcurrentBag is an interesting collection that can be used to optimize concurrency scenarios where tasks or threads both produce and consume items.  In this way, it will choose to consume its own work if available, and then steal if not.  However, in situations where you want fair consumption or ordering, or in situations where the producers and consumers are distinct processes, the bag is not optimal. The BlockingCollection is a great wrapper around all of the concurrent queue, stack, and bag that allows you to add producer and consumer semantics easily including waiting when the bin is full or empty. That’s the end of my dive into the concurrent collections.  I’d also strongly recommend, once again, you read this excellent Microsoft white paper that goes into much greater detail on the efficiencies you can gain using these collections judiciously (here). • ListView selection issue...Using onItemClick(AdapterView<?> parent, View view, ...)

    - by searchMaker
    The problem I hope to resolve here is that when I click on one item in the ListView that item's background changes to light gray, but when I continue to scroll through the list every 4th item has the background changed to light gray even though those other items have not been clicked. How do I make only the item I clicked be effected by the click? ListView lv = (ListView) findViewById(R.id.resultsList); lv.setAdapter(new ArrayAdapter(this, R.layout.resultitem, (String[])labelList.toArray(new String[labelList.size()]))); lv.setOnItemClickListener(new OnItemClickListener() { public void onItemClick(AdapterView parent, View view, int position, long id) { TextView tv = (TextView)view.findViewById(R.id.result); tv.setBackgroundColor(Color.LTGRAY); tv.setTextColor(Color.BLACK);

  • Sharing WPF RichTextBox content with Silverlight RichTextBox

    - by Stewart Armbrecht
    Has anyone figured out the best way to persist a WPF and Silverlight RichTextBox content so that it can be shared between the two? I haven't had the time to test through this so I wanted to see if anyone else has. I currently have a WPF applicaiton that saves the content of a RichTextBox as a blob in the database using the following code: byte[] result = null; TextRange range = new TextRange(flowDocument.ContentStart, flowDocument.ContentEnd); if (range.IsEmpty == false) { using (MemoryStream strm = new MemoryStream()) { range.Save(strm, DataFormats.XamlPackage, true); result = strm.ToArray(); strm.Close(); } } return result; I am building a silverlight version of the application and want to know how I can load (and save) this content using the Silverlight RichTextBox so that it can still be using in the WPF application.

  • What is the C# equivalent of this Excel VBA code for Shapes?

    - by code4life
    This is the VBA code for an Excel template, which I'm trying to convert to C# in a VSTO project I'm working on. By the way, it's a VSTO add-in: Dim addedShapes() As Variant ReDim addedShapes(1) addedShapes(1) = aBracket.Name ReDim Preserve addedShapes(UBound(addedShapes) + 1) addedShapes(UBound(addedShapes)) = "unique2" Set tmpShape = Me.Shapes.Range(addedShapes).Group At this point, I'm stumped by the addedShapes(), not sure what this is all about. Update: Matti mentioned that addedShapes() represents a variant array in VBA. So now I'm wondering what the contents of addedShapes() should be. Would this be the correct way to call the Shapes.Range() call in C#? List<string> addedShapes = new List<string>(); ... Shape tmpShape = worksheet.Shapes.get_Range (addedShapes.Cast<object>().ToArray()).Group(); I'd appreciate anyone who's worked with VBA and C# willing to make a comment on my question & problem!

  • How to marshal a COM-Parameter as VT_ARRAY of VT_RECORD

    - by Oliver Japes
    I've already done some extensive search, but I can't seem to find anything matching my problem. The task I'm currently working on is to create a WCF-Wrapper for some DCOM-Objects. This already works great for the most parts, but now I'm stuck with one invocation that expects a VT_ARRAY containing VT_RECORD-Objects. Marshalling as VT_ARRAY is not a problem, but how can I tell COM that the elements in this array are VT_RECORDs? This is the invocation as I current use it. InitTestCase(testCaseName, parameterFileName, testCase, cellInfos.ToArray()); The parameter I'm talking about is the last one. It's defined as List<CellInfo>, CellInfo itself is already attributed with Guid("7D422961-331E-47E2-BC71-7839E9E77D39") and ComVisible(true). It's not a struct but a class. This is the condition failing on the native side: if (VT_RECORD == varCellConfig.vt)... Because of old software using these interfaces, changing the native side is not an option Any idea?
