    Hi friends I want to view .doc, .docx, .rtf, .ppt file in iphone. But I guess something is going wrong at my side and its not working for the above formats but my code is working fine for .txt and .pdf files. I have the read the document regarding Webview it states it supports viewing of the above document. below is my snippet for .doc [webView loadData:requestData MIMEType:@"application/msword" textEncodingName:@"UTF-8" baseURL:nil]; for .ppt I am using MIME type as "application/vnd.ms-powerpoint" Note: If I am making MIME type as "text/html" for .doc then it displays some garbage data So I think there is something missing in MIME type from my side.   • Intercept web requests from a WebView Flash plugin

    I've got a desktop browser app which uses a WebView to host a Flash plugin. The Flash plugin makes regular requests to an external website for new data, which it then draws as fancy graphics. I'd like to intercept these web requests and get at the data (so I can display it via Growl, instead of keeping a desktop window around). But best I can tell, requests made by Flash don't get picked up by the normal WebView delegates. Is there another place I can set a hook? I tried installing a custom NSURLCache via [NSURLCache setSharedURLCache] but that never got called. I also tried method swizzling a few of the other classes (like NSCachedURLResponse) but couldn't find a way in. Any ideas? Many thanks!

But I want to change some values in the HTML (or PHP if it works by using $_REQUEST/$_GET), for example, I have a table with some text in it and I want to change this text from an NSString etc. How would I go about this?

    I am trying to take a screenshot of a webView and change it to PDF. I have used this method: http://www.ioslearner.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/HtmlToPdfDemo.zip I mean the code in this project. It works fine for iPad but it doesn't covers full width for iPhone. I have used -sizeThatFits: for the webView, but that gives unreadable images for large html pages. I have searched a lot but all I could find out was in Android.. not iPhone. Please help me.Thanks!

    I'm rather new with the whole OSX programming, I wanted to stick a WebView into an empty app. Apparently it isn't as simple as sticking a WebView on a window in interface builder and creating an outlet. IBOutlet WebView *webView; It gives me a expected specifier-qualifier-list before 'WebView' and when I don't use an outlet, it terminates due to uncaught exception. I'm not too sure what these error messages mean. Seems it isn't that simple!

  • How does the NY Times iPhone app do this?

    Alright, I have an RSS feed that gets arranged in a UITableView and then the user selects a story and it loads in a UIWebView. However, I'd like to stop using the UIWebView and just use a UITextView or UILabel. This png is what I am trying to do (just display the various text aspects of a news story): http://img411.imageshack.us/img411/2449/screenshot20100315at120.png Let me start off by saying that I have tried to use the usualNSString *myText = [webView stringByEvaluatingJavaScriptFromString:@"document.documentElement.textContent"]; and assign it to a UILabel, but it doesn't work the way that I am implementing it (in webViewDidFinishLoad--is that not correct?) and I get a blank textView and normal webView. If I overlay a UITextView on top of a UIWebView on its own (that is, a webView that just loads one page), the code posted above works fine to display the text I require, but the problem arises when the RSS feed is added into the mix. Ideas and/or help, guys? I've been stuck wondering why this doesn't work as it should for a few days now. If you have a better, more efficient way of doing it then placing the code in webViewDidFinishLoad, please let me know! Does it go in my didSelectRowAtIndexPath? I'm lost here, guys.     I am trying to find a code that will do a popup at the initial start up on an installed app. Much like a changelog that is starting to appear in more and more apps. I have found some similar codes, but being a beginner I haven't been able to figure out where to exactly put the code in and I always have tons of errors that still do not work once I try and fix them.   • Get notified when objective-c dom updates are ready initiated from webview

    I am programmatically updating the DOM on a WebKit webview via DOMElement objects - for complex UI, there is usually a javascript component to any element that I add. This begs the need to be notified when the updates complete -- is there any such event? I know regular divs dont fire an onload or onready event, correct? The other assumption I had, which may be totally wrong, is that DOMElement updates aren't synchronous, so I can't do something like this and be confident it will meet with the label actually in the DOM: DOMElement *displayNameLabel = [document createElement:@"div"]; [displayNameLabel setAttribute:@"class" value:@"user-display-name"]; [displayNameLabel setTextContent:currentAvatar.avatarData.displayName]; [[document getElementById:@"user-card-content"] appendChild:displayNameLabel]; id win = [webView windowScriptObject]; [win evaluateWebScript:@"javascriptInstantiateLabel()"]; Is this true?   • How can a link within a WebView load another layout using javascript?

    So I have 2 layout files (main.xml, featured.xml) and both each have a single WebView. When the application starts "main.xml" loads a html file into it's WebView. In this html file I have a link that calls javascript that runs code in the Activity that loaded the html. Once back in this Activity code though I try running setContentView(R.layout.featured) but it just bombs out on me. If I debug it just dies without any real error and if I run it the application just Force closes.     Hello all: What I would like to implement is 1 Using Qt's WebView(part of QtWebKit) to access some page. 2 Show specified html page if got HTTP 4xx, 5xx status (Ex HTTP 404, 500). 3 Also shows specified page when network connection is unavailable. For now, I had only done job 1... In job 2, how did I get http status from WebView ? In job 3, I'm looking about QUrl APIs now. Anyone have idea or expreience yet ?

  • JavaScript on Android randomly stops working

    Hi! I have an application that uses a WebView and a html-page with javascript functions. Randomly the JavaScript functions doesn't seem to be called. It works up to a random point (I have looked at this bug all day) can only be produced on hardware (HTC Legend) not on emulator. Basicly I'm using callback to javaScript whenever the user presses a button, these callbacks tell the html to redraw using javaScript functions. mHandler.post(new Runnable() { public void run() { mWebView.loadUrl("javascript:getDataLine()"); } }); The first line in this javaScript code is an alert that says that it has started, so that I can see that it's working. Settings alerts or console.log's everywhere won't help as it seems the problem is in the webview or in Android itself. I need a way to see what's going on in the background. Maybe see if a previous call failed and stalled the thread or something.

I made an outlet: IBOutlet UIWebView *browser; Defined it as a property: @property (nonatomic, retain) IBOutlet UIWebView *browser; Synthethized it: @synthesize browser; Finally, I connected it in Interface Builder, really it is.     i am working with android webview and inside webview i am displaying the webpage which is having css,Javascript so i want that whenever i will select the checkbox and try to zoom the page so it should wrap otherwise it should not. So for that i tried to set the property of css - w.loadUrl("javascript:(function() {" + "document.getElementByTagName('html')[0].style.whiteSpace='nowrap';})"); but i am changing these properties by programming so it is not affecting the text content so please tell me how can i make the webpage text as wrapped if the checkbox is selected and it should not wrap if the checkbox is not selected,so please provide me any suggestion?? This site serves PDFs which has quick web view and if I access a pdf directly from the IIS server the PDFs starts to display immediately but if I go through the proxy I have to wait until the entire pdf downloads before I can view it.
