  • jQuery .eq(x) returns different element in IE than in FF/Chrome

    I am using the .eq() method to select a specific child element of a known element. It appears that the element indices are different in IE and in Chrome/FF, as .eq(2) returns different values depending on browser. (The element I'm looking for shows up as .eq(2) in FF/Chrome, but .eq(3) in IE) For example, alert($(this).parent().children().eq(2).text()); shows different results depending on the browser. Is there a better way of doing this?

    I would like to draw a rectangle around a video playing on my screen. For example, I am watching a YouTube video in my browser. I would like to be able to take a screenshot, analyze that screenshot, and then draw a rectangle around where the YouTube video is playing. I have just started looking into how I might be able to to this. I came across OpenCV. I understand that OpenCV covers many computer vision techniques. Would any of them be particularly well suited for this task? Also, is this something that can be done in real time? Finally, is there a technique that would work for both in browser and full screen?   • How to find text in images with the browser control+F

    Have HTML pages with many sections and each section has a section title displayed as an image (to use nice font). The problem is that even if I specify an 'alt' and 'title' text on each image/title the Ctrl+F browser functionality does not find the text. Thought two possible solutions but not very happy about them 1) Use embed fonts. Problem: Can not find the font required by client to use and not sure about copyrights. 2) Have the text in the image in DIV near the image but hidden from user view. Problem: Can search engines consider this keyword stuffing? Will browser find text if display:none Does anybody has a better solution? Thanks Riga

  • Firefox Using Prism Website Icon instead of Firefox Icon in Taskbar

    A while back, I created a website shortcut using the now discontinued Prism extension for Firefox. This worked fine at the time. However, now that Prism has been discontinued, whenever I open Firefox, when the shortcut for FF shows up my Windows taskbar, it does so with the website favico for the old Prism shortcut site that I created. If I right-click on the taskbar shortcut, it shows the old shortcut to the Prism app (even though I deleted its entry manually from C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\WebApps). If I then click on [Pin to Taskbar] and then right click and [Unpin from Taskbar], the icon will switch back to the FF icon. If I righ-click on it a third time, it will switch back to the Prism site favico. I assume that if I were able to install Prism, then it would give me some way to remove the site. However, since Prism is discontinued and incompatible with the current version of FF, that is not an option. What I would like to do: completely remove references to the Prism app from my computer: Disassociate the prism website Favico from Firefox, so that it never replaces the FF icon in the Windows taskbar Shortcut to the Prism site will never shot up in the right-click menu for FF

  • API numbers don't match on compiled PHP extension

    I'm trying to get GD into my PHP. I recently installed PHP5.3.0 on my system running Mac Leopard using mac ports. It did not come with the gd module. So I downloaded gd, compiled it as an extension module as per http://www.kenior.ch/macintosh/adding-gd-library-for-mac-os-x-leopard, made php.ini point to it, restarted apache etc. But no GD. So in apache error log it says PHP Warning: PHP Startup: gd: Unable to initialize module\nModule compiled with module API=20060613\nPHP compiled with module API=20090115\nThese options need to match\n in Unknown on line 0 So a bit of googling says I should not use the phpize I have before configuring and making these. I should use a new one called phpize5. I surely don't have any such thing. Unless its packed up inside something else in my php5.3. distro. Where do you get it. In Ubuntu I could just run sudo apt-get install php-dev, (apparently) and it would just appear by magic. At least that's what the webpage said. Unfortunately I am running MacOSX version Leopard. How can I build this GD module on Leopard so that it will match the API number in my PHP?

  • Local Flash in Chrome pepper player won't link to internet

    I have a local .swf file in a local .html file. The flash file opens a popup window when a link is clicked. In Chrome, when I open the html file and click the button, nothing happens. Then when I go to about:plugins and disable the top Flash player (the pepper one) then try refresh and try clicking the button again, nothing happens. Then when I go to http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager04.html and add the the folder the files are stored in to the list and refresh the page and click the button again, it opens the popup. When I re-enable the pepper flash player, and re-add the folder to the allowed list in flash (it's gone from the list now that I changed players), refresh the page and click the button again, it does nothing. I don't know why it won't open with the pepper player. I'm using Windows 7, Chrome 22.0.1229.94 m, Pepper Flash player 11.4.31.110, and regular Flash Player 11,4,402,287.

  • PHP Suhosin extension is not loading

    For some reason i have to adjust the suhosin.request.max_vars and suhosin.post.max_vars directives. I'm using ispCP, and it has default the suhosin patch, but as i read, i need to install the extension too. I've did this with apt-get install php5-suhosin and the suhosin.ini appeared in conf.d, and suhosin.so exists too in /usr/lib/php5.     Hello, Do you know such an extension that provides easy document scanning in Firefox? We are building a web site and we want visitors to be able to upload scanned documents to it. The normal procedure for that is: Scan the document via Gimp, Photoshop or some other scanning software. Save the file. Navigate to the upload web page. Find some sort of HTML input type file on that page. Browse and find the saved file. Submit the form. I want an extension or plugin that automatize that process and do everything with 1 click - scan the document with some default settings (for example "grayscale, 300 dpi") creates temporary file, fills the page input field and deletes the temporary file after upload. I tried lots of googling but the term scan in combination with everything web-related gives zillions of virus, malware and port scanners...

I have checked on my setting for startup homepage for FF under the Tools > Options, it was set to Google as my default page.   • Error after installing mysqlnd_ms

    I am working on Amazon EC2 using the Amazon Linux AMI which is based on CentOS. I have installed php54 and php54-mysqlnd. I then do a "sudo pecl install myslqnd_ms" This installs fine. I add the extension into the php.ini file. Then I start httpd, and when I do in the error log I see: PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/lib64/php/modules/mysqlnd_ms.so' - /usr/lib64/php/modules/mysqlnd_ms.so: undefined symbol: mysqlnd_globals in Unknown on line 0 Googling this lead me to: https://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=62276&edit=1 and http://forums.famillecollet.com/viewtopic.php?id=242 neither of which helped me much. I am trying to stick to stock pre built binaries from the main YUM repo if possible. What would be the best solution here? Thanks in advance

  • Issue tabbing between fields in Tiddlywiki

    TAB and SHIFT + TAB are great for getting in and out of fields without taking your hands off the keyboard. In my Firefox 9.0 installation I installed and then disabled Tab in Textarea 0.10.2 (tabinta) and now when I try to tab in and out of a textarea on the page using TAB and SHIFT + TAB it gives me a tab instead of the expected movement in and out of the textarea. Is there some way I can get this functionality back to normal?

The web page I'm trying to save is bit long and has many images (http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/2012/10/hurricane_sandy_the_superstorm.html) I tried Google Chrome Screen Capture Extention and few other Chrome Screen Capture Plugins but all gave empty image as output. How to overcome this? Is there any other known Plugin (non Chrome is OK) to save large web page as an Image?

    I have a brand new server server that I am trying to get setup up. This is a 64 bit machine that I can not install "fileinfo" or "memcache". I have uninstalled these and reinstalled them using yum and pecl with no luck. Yum install fine "no error" but then get error when running php. pecl from what I can tell is only installing 32bit. Does not put anything in the lib64 directory.     MBP 6,2 :: Google Chrome 13.0.782.32 beta :: Adobe Flash Player 10,3,181,26 UPDATE: only Youtube is affected. Vimeo, other flash, etc. all works great. Hello. I recently had to hard reboot my MBP. After that, I could not watch Youtube videos or (I believe) other flash enabled content. The videos appear transparent, as if there were a "hole" in my browser (Chrome) such that I could see through the hole and see my desktop.     Dear, I installed - or better tried to - the NMCryptGate Extension for PHP on my Debian 5.0.8 server. I did this by compiling the sources which came up with no error message. Calling phpinfo() I can see the extension as enabled. BUT, whenever I try calling a method from this extension I get an error logged to the apache error log: /usr/sbin/apache2: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/php5/20060613+lfs/nmcryptgate.so: undefined symbol: nmlistalloc What is missing? I got two packages from the software company: the php module sources and some files which should - according to their path inside the tar - go to /usr/local/bin|doc|include|lib. I moved them there without any effect. I guess I just have to move the files to the correct location or change the libdir inside the config files but meanwhile I'm totally confused by the two packages: do I need both, which config rules what, do I have to use the libdir variable?     Features that I would ideally include in "HTPC-optimized": Full-screen. Navigable using a remote or the keyboard arrows. Legible at couch distances. Or, to put it another way, imagine the design requirements for Hulu Desktop or XBMC or WMC, applied to a web browser. Opera on a Wii meets most of these criteria but not being HD wastes a lot of potential. If a single solution doesn't exist, is there some combination of Firefox add-ons that will get me there?

    What browsers have good keyboard support? That means you don't have to use the mouse so much. Or what is a good setup for browser + keyboard interaction. I know the basic keyboard shortcuts (tab switching, new tabs etc.) but I don't know a good way to switch between links and search areas - usually that means TAB, Shift-TAB one at a time. Is there maybe some plugin that'll add numbers to links and I could just do something like 12 to go to the link 12?

    I heavily rely on Opera's speed dial and password management features. Lack of these two features is really stopping me from switching to another web browser such as Chrome or Firefox. Opera's password management has two unique characteristics which I rely on heavily: It saves passwords on all pages, (apparently) despite the page's meta data asking not to save passwords. It offers keyboard shortcut and button to automatically fill in username/passwords and all other fields in a login form, then automatically submit the form. (So I'm only one key/click away from logging into a website) How can I get those functions in other browsers? Thank you! Edit: Reason being that I use other web browsers at work and I wish they could have those functions.

  • Need software to save videos from 4tube.com - to watch the videos smoothly

    Isn't there a programs that will capture screen writes at the hardware level? I have tried several Firefox add-ons, and several stand-alone programs, and none of them will save videos from this site. I even paid for Replay Media Catcher, and it didn't work, so I got a refund. (The website for the best Firefox video downloader I have, Downloadhelper, said Replay Media Catcher worked with that site.) I have a slow internet connection, and cannot watch videos smoothly unless I can cache them. This site (4tube.com) doesn't cache, when you restart, it reloads, when you pause it stops - so I need to be able to save the videos to be able to watch them.

    I have a brand new server server that I am trying to get setup up. This is a 64 bit machine that I can not install "fileinfo" or "memcache". I have uninstalled these and reinstalled them using yum and pecl with no luck. Yum install fine "no error" but then get error when running php. pecl from what I can tell is only installing 32bit. Does not put anything in the lib64 directory.
