• Java Terminology: Why compile-time error and not compile-time exception?

  This may sound awkward ... But I didn't understand it. Why do we have compile-time error and not compile-time exception in java ? I mean to say that we never say compile-time exception. We tend to say it as compile-time error. Is there any specific reason for the same ?? Any suggestions are welcomed.... Thanks !

  I thought I read that when a Ruby on Rails server is running in production mode, it won't say so much about an error (the details, showing the code)... but I just try to run the server using ruby script/server -e production and add a <%= x %> with the local variable x undefined. It showed a lot of error details including the code... is there a way to make it look better?

  I have an excel file. I wanted to pull the data from excel file to SQL Server table. And the data is successfully transferred.In the excel file, I removed a text from one column named "Risk" from one row.The text was lengthy one.now the package execution fails at the source ie from the excel file. The errors are shown as "[Audit [1]] Error: There was an error with output column "Risk" (100) on output "Excel Source Output" (9). The column status returned was: "DBSTATUS_UNAVAILABLE"." and "[Audit [1]] Error: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_INDUCEDTRANSFORMFAILUREONERROR. The "output column "Risk" (100)" failed because error code 0xC0209071 occurred, and the error row disposition on "output column "Risk" (100)" specifies failure on error. An error occurred on the specified object of the specified component. There may be error messages posted before this with more information about the failure." the error occurs only when I remove this particular text from this row.

  I'm trying to get a new installation of Mythbuntu working. So far, everything is OK except the remote. The sensor for the remote is on my Hauppauge WinTV HVR 1250. Any suggestions on how to fix or further diagnose this?

• Nec USB 3.0 controller drops connection - Ubuntu 12.04.1

  I have some serious problems with Technaxx pci-e 302p card. It has uPD720200a NEC chip with 4020 firmware. BIOS recognises it. Sometimes it recognises devices and system mounts them and are functional for few minutes, other times they can't be mount and error occours. After fresh install card worked fine, but after kernel and firmware update it behaves as mentioned. • Upgraded to 12.04 now wifi doesn't work

  My laptop's wifi stopped working when I upgraded to Ubuntu 12.04 (wired works). I just reinstalled 12.04 over my old 12.04 on which wifi didn't work either in an attempt to restore any settings I may have accidentally changed, but it still doesn't work. I also used a wired connection to install updates in case this bug has been fixed, but it has not.   I can not get any errors to display on screen on write to a log file. When check phpinfo() print out I have same value of master a local for display_errors On display_startup_errors On error_log /var/log/php.log error_reporting E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE log_errors On log_errors_max_len ls -l /var/log/php.log is -rw-rw-rw- 1 root root 0 Jun 21 07:47 /var/log/php.log for /var and /varlog drwxrwxrwx 23 root root 4096 Jun 2 11:13 var when there is an error in the code the page the browsers shows nothing and browser says there is no source for the page.   All, I am using export-mailbox to move some data and it is working fine until I get this error: StatusMessage : Error occurred in the step: Moving messages. Failed to copy messages to the destination mailbox store with error: MAPI or an unspecified service provider. ID no: 00000000-0000-00000000 This is the command I am using: export-mailbox -identity mailboxA -targetmailbox mailboxB -targetfolder folderA -allowmerge We are on SP2 and I am running this under an account that is not a domain or enterprise admin. THe account has Exchange Server Administrator Permission Both Source and Target Exchange Mailbox Server. THe account is part of the Local Administrators Group Member Both Source and Target Exchange Mailbox Server. This account has Full Access permission on both the target and source servers. THe issue happens at any time and I am only trying to run this on one mailbox, the only mailbox I need to run it on. THe event log is "Error Exchange Migration Export Mailbox Event 1008". The log under migration logs just shows that it was running okay then it gives the same error as above "Error was found for mailboxA ([email protected]) because: Error occurred in the step: Moving messages. Failed to copy messages to the destination mailbox store with error: MAPI or an unspecified service provider. ID no: 00000000-0000-00000000, error code: -1056749164" Any ideas on what to do/try?

• Apache displays error page half way through PHP page execution

  I've just installed Zend Server Community Edition on a Windows Server 2003 box, however there's a bit of a problem with the display of a lot of our PHP pages. The code has previously running under the same version of PHP (5.3) on IIS without any issues. By the looks of things, Apache (installed as part of Zend Server) is erroring out during the rendering of the page when it comes across something it doesn't like in the PHP. Going through the code, I've been able to get past some of the problems by removing the error suppression operator (@) from function calls and by changing the format of some includes. However, I can't do this for the whole site! Weirdly, the error code is reported as "200 OK". • What can be the reason for Windows error ERROR_DISK_FULL (112) when opening a NTFS alternate data st

  My application writes some bytes of data to an alternate data stream. This works fine on all but one machine (Windows Server 2003 SP2). Instead, CreateFile returns ERROR_DISK_FULL when I try to create an alternate data stream (on the root directory). I don't find the reason for this result, because... There's plenty of space on that drive. The drive is NTFS formatted (due to GetVolumeInformation). The drive supports altenate data streams (due to GetVolumeInformation). Edit: I can provide some more information about what the reason not is: I added many streams on a test system which didn't show the error and wondered if the error might occur. It didn't. Instead after about 2000 Streams with long file names another error occurred and persisted: 1450 (ERROR_NO_SYSTEM_RESOURCES). EDIT: Here is an example for one of the used file names: char szStreamFileName[] = "C:\\:abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz1234567890abcdefghijklmnoqrstuvwxyz012345"; EDIT: Our customer uses some corporate antivirus software from Avira on this server. Maybe this is the reason (Alternate data streams can be abused by malware).
