  • Django Image Upload: IOErrno2 Could not find path -- and yet it's saving the image there anyway?

    - by Rob
    I have an issue where the local version of django is handling image upload as expected but my server is not. Note: I am using a Django Container on MediaTemple.net (grid server) Here is my code. def view_settings(request): <snip> if request.POST: success_msgs = () mForm = MainProfileForm(request.POST, request.FILES, instance = mProfile) pForm = ChangePasswordForm(request.POST) eForm = ChangeEmailForm(request.POST) if mForm.is_valid(): m = mForm.save(commit = False) if mForm.cleaned_data['avatar']: m.avatar = upload_photo(request.FILES['avatar'], settings.AVATAR_SAVE_LOCATION) m.save() success_msgs += ('profile pictured updated',) <snip> def upload_photo(data,saveLocation): savePath = os.path.join(settings.MEDIA_ROOT, saveLocation, data.name) destination = open(savePath, 'wb+') for chunk in data.chunks(): destination.write(chunk) destination.close() return os.path.join(saveLocation, data.name) Here's where it gets whacky and I was hoping someone could shed a light on this error, because either a) it's the wrong error code, or b) something is happening with the file before it's completely handled. To recap, the file was actually uploaded to the server in the intended directory - and yet this err msg continues to persist. • Why can't I pass an argument to create this window using wxpython?

    - by somefreakingguy
    I am trying to learn how to make a GUI in python! Following an online tutorial, I found that the following code 'works' in creating an empty window: import wx from sys import argv class bucky(wx.Frame): def __init__(self, parent, id): wx.Frame.__init__(self, parent, id, 'Frame aka window', size=(300, 200)) if __name__=='__main__': app=wx.PySimpleApp() frame=bucky(parent=None,id=-1) frame.Show() app.MainLoop() That gives me a window, which is great. However, what if I want to get an argument passed onto the program to determine the window size? I thought something like this ought to do the trick: import wx from sys import argv script, x, y = argv class mywindow(wx.Frame): def __init__(self, parent, id): wx.Frame.__init__(self, parent, id, 'Frame aka window', size=(x, y)) if __name__=='__main__': app=wx.PySimpleApp() frame=mywindow(parent=None,id=-1) frame.Show() app.MainLoop() But, alas, that does not work! Nor does the raw_input() function pass on the value. I keep getting the following error: C:/Python26/pythonw.exe -u "C:/Documents and Settings/Owner/Desktop/wz.py" File "C:/Documents and Settings/Owner/Desktop/wz.py", line 8 wx.Frame.__init__(self, parent, id, 'Frame aka window', size=(x y)) ^ SyntaxError: invalid syntax Thanks for the help!

  • Return a list of imported Python modules used in a script?

    - by Jono Bacon
    Hi All, I am writing a program that categorizes a list of Python files by which modules they import. As such I need to scan the collection of .py files ad return a list of which modules they import. As an example, if one of the files I import has the following lines: import os import sys, gtk I would like it to return: ["os", "sys", "gtk"] I played with modulefinder and wrote: from modulefinder import ModuleFinder finder = ModuleFinder() finder.run_script('testscript.py') print 'Loaded modules:' for name, mod in finder.modules.iteritems(): print '%s ' % name, but this returns more than just the modules used in the script. As an example in a script which merely has: import os print os.getenv('USERNAME') The modules returned from the ModuleFinder script return: tokenize heapq __future__ copy_reg sre_compile _collections cStringIO _sre functools random cPickle __builtin__ subprocess cmd gc __main__ operator array select _heapq _threading_local abc _bisect posixpath _random os2emxpath tempfile errno pprint binascii token sre_constants re _abcoll collections ntpath threading opcode _struct _warnings math shlex fcntl genericpath stat string warnings UserDict inspect repr struct sys pwd imp getopt readline copy bdb types strop _functools keyword thread StringIO bisect pickle signal traceback difflib marshal linecache itertools dummy_thread posix doctest unittest time sre_parse os pdb dis ...whereas I just want it to return 'os', as that was the module used in the script. Can anyone help me achieve this?

  • Python 3.0 IDE - Komodo and Eclipse both flaky?

    - by victorhooi
    heya, I'm trying to find a decent IDE that supports Python 3.x, and offers code completion/in-built Pydocs viewer, Mercurial integration, and SSH/SFTP support. Anyhow, I'm trying Pydev, and I open up a .py file, it's in the Pydev perspective and the Run As doesn't offer any options. It does when you start a Pydev project, but I don't want to start a project just to edit one single Python script, lol, I want to just open a .py file and have It Just Work... Plan 2, I try Komodo 6 Alpha 2. I actually quite like Komodo, and it's nice and snappy, offers in-built Mercurial support, as well as in-built SSH support (although it lacks SSH HTTP Proxy support, which is slightly annoying). However, for some reason, this refuses to pick up Python 3. In Edit-Preferences-Languages, there's two option, one for Python and Python3, but the Python3 one refuses to work, with either the official Python.org binaries, or ActiveState's own ActivePython 3. Of course, I can set the "Python" interpreter to the 3.1 binary, but that's an ugly hack and breaks Python 2.x support. So, does anybody who uses an IDE for Python have any suggestions on either of these accounts, or can you recommend an alternate IDE for Python 3.0 development? Cheers, Victor

  • Google App Engine Needs Index Error

    - by Andrew Johnson
    I am currently getting a needs index error on my app engine app: http://www.gaiagps.com/wiki/home. I believe this index should have been created automatically by my index.yaml file (see below). Googling a bit, I think I just need to wait for my index to be built. Is this correct, or do I need to do something manually? Is there some sort of index-building queue? My tables are very, very small right now. EDIT: I added the line "indexes:" to my app.yaml, and now app engine reports the index is building, so I think this is fixed. It's weird that this file was wrong considering I've never touched it. indexes: # AUTOGENERATED # This index.yaml is automatically updated whenever the dev_appserver # detects that a new type of query is run. If you want to manage the # index.yaml file manually, remove the above marker line (the line # saying "# AUTOGENERATED"). Hi people, I have this issue about orphan IBM JVM process being created in the process tree: For example: C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere\AppServer\bin>wsadmin -lang jython -f "C:\Hello.py" Hello.py has the simple implementation: import time i = 0 while (1): i = i + 1 print "Hello World " + str(i) time.sleep(3.0) My machine has such JVM information: C:\Program Files\WebSphere\java\bin>java -verbose:sizes -version -Xmca32K RAM class segment increment -Xmco128K ROM class segment increment -Xmns0K initial new space size -Xmnx0K maximum new space size -Xms4M initial memory size -Xmos4M initial old space size -Xmox1624995K maximum old space size -Xmx1624995K memory maximum -Xmr16K remembered set size -Xlp4K large page size available large page sizes: 4K 4M -Xmso256K operating system thread stack size -Xiss2K java thread stack initial size -Xssi16K java thread stack increment -Xss256K java thread stack maximum size java version "1.6.0" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build pwi3260sr6ifix-20091015_01(SR6+152211+155930+156106)) IBM J9 VM (build 2.4, JRE 1.6.0 IBM J9 2.4 Windows Server 2003 x86-32 jvmwi3260sr6-20091001_43491 (JIT enabled, AOT enabled) J9VM - 20091001_043491 JIT - r9_20090902_1330ifx1 GC - 20090817_AA) JCL - 20091006_01 While the program is running, I tried to kill it and subsequently I found an orphan IBM JVM process in the process tree. Is there a way to fix this issue? Why is there an orphan process in the first place? Is there something wrong with my code? I really don't believe that my simplistic code is wrongly implemented. Any suggestions?

  • django - variable declared in base project does not appear in app

    - by unsorted
    I have a variable called STATIC_URL, declared in settings.py in my base project: STATIC_URL = '/site_media/static/' This is used, for example, in my site_base.html, which links to CSS files as follows: <link rel="stylesheet" href="{{ STATIC_URL }}css/site_tabs.css" /> I have a bunch of templates related to different apps which extend site_base.html, and when I look at them in my browser the CSS is linked correctly as <link rel="stylesheet" href="/site_media/static/css/site_tabs.css" /> (These came with a default pinax distribution.) I created a new app called 'courses' which lives in the ...../apps/courses folder. I have a view for one of the pages in courses called courseinstance.html which extends site_base.html just like the other ones. However, when this one renders in my browser it comes out as <link rel="stylesheet" href="css/site_tabs.css" /> as if STATIC_URL were equal to "" for this app. Do I have to make some sort of declaration to get my app to take on the same variable values as the project? I don't have a settings.py file for the app. by the way, the app is listed in my list of INSTALLED_APPS and it gets served up fine, just without the link to the CSS file (so the page looks funny). Thanks in advance for your help.

  • Python: Catching / blocking SIGINT during system call

    - by danben
    I've written a web crawler that I'd like to be able to stop via the keyboard. I don't want the program to die when I interrupt it; it needs to flush its data to disk first. I also don't want to catch KeyboardInterruptedException, because the persistent data could be in an inconsistent state. My current solution is to define a signal handler that catches SIGINT and sets a flag; each iteration of the main loop checks this flag before processing the next url. However, I've found that if the system happens to be executing socket.recv() when I send the interrupt, I get this: ^C Interrupted; stopping... // indicates my interrupt handler ran Traceback (most recent call last): File "crawler_test.py", line 154, in <module> main() ... File "/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.6/lib/python2.6/socket.py", line 397, in readline data = recv(1) socket.error: [Errno 4] Interrupted system call and the process exits completely. Why does this happen? Is there a way I can prevent the interrupt from affecting the system call?

  • Python: saving and loading objects and using pickle.

    - by Peterstone
    Hello, I´m trying to save and load objects using pickle module. First I declare my objects: >>> class Fruits:pass ... >>> banana = Fruits() >>> banana.color = 'yellow' >>> banana.value = 30 After that I open a file called 'Fruits.obj'(previously I created a new .txt file and I renamed 'Fruits.obj'): >>> import pickle >>> filehandler = open(b"Fruits.obj","wb") >>> pickle.dump(banana,filehandler) After do this I close my session and I began a new one and I put the next (trying to access to the object that it supposed to be saved): file = open("Fruits.obj",'r') object_file = pickle.load(file) But I have this message: Traceback (most recent call last): File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module> File "C:\Python31\lib\pickle.py", line 1365, in load encoding=encoding, errors=errors).load() ValueError: read() from the underlying stream did notreturn bytes I don´t know what to do because I don´t understand this message. Does anyone know How I can load my object 'banana'? Thank you! EDIT: As some of you have sugested I put: >>> import pickle >>> file = open("Fruits.obj",'rb') There were no problem, but the next I put was: >>> object_file = pickle.load(file) And I have error: Traceback (most recent call last): File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module> File "C:\Python31\lib\pickle.py", line 1365, in load encoding=encoding, errors=errors).load() EOFError

  • Return a list of important Python modules in a script?

  • Autodiscovery for inclusion tags

    - by Ludwik Trammer
    The title may be a little confusing, but I don't know how else to call it. I would like to create a Django project with a large set of applications you could arbitrary turn on or off using INSTALLED_APPS option in settings.py (you would obviously also need to edit urls.py and run syncdb). After being turned on an app should be able to automatically: Register it's content in site-wide search. Luckily django-haystack has this built-in, so it's not a problem. Register cron jobs. django-cron does exactly that. Not a problem. Register a widget that should be displayed on the homepage. The homepage should include a list of boxes with widgets form different applications. I thought about inclusion tags, because you can put them anywhere on a page and they control both content and presentation. The problem is I don't know how to automatically get a list of inclusion tags provided by my applications, and display them one by one on a homepage. I need a way to register them somehow, and then display all registered tags.

  • python: help defining/installing simple script to setup machine-specific information

    - by Jason S
    (This is related to scons but I think most of the following should be fairly general to python) I would like to define a python file/library that I put in a Well-Known Place somewhere on my computer that I can use to define machine-specific paths, and was looking for help on how to do this well, since I'm a beginner to Python & really only use it for my scons work. scons uses a SConstruct file which can execute python code. What I would like to do is something like this: My SConstruct file would contain this at the beginning: defaultEnv = JJJJJ.getMachineSpecificPaths() or (do both of these syntaxes work?) import JJJJJ defaultEnv = getMachineSpecificPaths() I define a JJJJJ.py file somewhere installed in the python dir which contains the following def getMachineSpecificPaths(): ... does something here, I don't know what ... that reads a file machine-specific-paths.txt (maybe it has the code Ross Rogers mentioned in my other question) located in the same directory as JJJJJ.py containing the following: machine-specific-paths.txt TI_C28_ROOT C:/appl/ti/ccs/?4.1.1/ccsv4/tools/co?mpiler/c2000 JSDB c:/bin/jsdb/jsdb.exe PYTHON_PATH c:/appl/python/2.6.4 The thing is, I don't really know much about the conventions in Python about where you put system-wide libraries and files. This is probably really simple to get right but I don't know how.

  • Python/MySQL fails under Windows

    I'm trying to get Python 2.6 to communicate with MySQL Server 5.1, under Windows XP, but I keep getting a strange error, "SystemError: NULL object passed to Py_BuildValue": >>> import MySQLdb as mysql >>> db = mysql.connect(user = "root", passwd="whatever", db="mysql", host="localh ost") >>> cu = db.cursor() >>> cu.execute("show tables") Traceback (most recent call last): File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module> File "C:\dirr\lib\site-packages\MySQLdb\cursors.py", line 173, in execu te self.errorhandler(self, exc, value) File "C:\ dirr\lib\site-packages\MySQLdb\connections.py", line 36, in de faulterrorhandler raise errorclass, errorvalue SystemError: NULL object passed to Py_BuildValue I thought it might be a character set problem, but I've tried setting and setting MySQL as UTF-8, and it hasn't made a difference. I guess there must be a problem with python-mysql. Can anyone help? UPDATE OK, python-mysql under windows is a bit of a nightmare, particularly with Python 2.6 it seems. Rather than installing python-mysql with pip, use this installer instead. That fixed it.

  • Writing good tests for Django applications

    - by Ludwik Trammer
    I've never written any tests in my life, but I'd like to start writing tests for my Django projects. I've read some articles about tests and decided to try to write some tests for an extremely simple Django app or a start. The app has two views (a list view, and a detail view) and a model with four fields: class News(models.Model): title = models.CharField(max_length=250) content = models.TextField() pub_date = models.DateTimeField(default=datetime.datetime.now) slug = models.SlugField(unique=True) I would like to show you my tests.py file and ask: Does it make sense? Am I even testing for the right things? Are there best practices I'm not following, and you could point me to? my tests.py (it contains 11 tests): # -*- coding: utf-8 -*- from django.test import TestCase from django.test.client import Client from django.core.urlresolvers import reverse import datetime from someproject.myapp.models import News class viewTest(TestCase): def setUp(self): self.test_title = u'Test title: bareksc' self.test_content = u'This is a content 156' self.test_slug = u'test-title-bareksc' self.test_pub_date = datetime.datetime.today() self.test_item = News.objects.create( title=self.test_title, content=self.test_content, slug=self.test_slug, pub_date=self.test_pub_date, ) client = Client() self.response_detail = client.get(self.test_item.get_absolute_url()) self.response_index = client.get(reverse('the-list-view')) def test_detail_status_code(self): """ HTTP status code for the detail view """ self.failUnlessEqual(self.response_detail.status_code, 200) def test_list_status_code(self): """ HTTP status code for the list view """ self.failUnlessEqual(self.response_index.status_code, 200) def test_list_numer_of_items(self): self.failUnlessEqual(len(self.response_index.context['object_list']), 1) def test_detail_title(self): self.failUnlessEqual(self.response_detail.context['object'].title, self.test_title) def test_list_title(self): self.failUnlessEqual(self.response_index.context['object_list'][0].title, self.test_title) def test_detail_content(self): self.failUnlessEqual(self.response_detail.context['object'].content, self.test_content) def test_list_content(self): self.failUnlessEqual(self.response_index.context['object_list'][0].content, self.test_content) def test_detail_slug(self): self.failUnlessEqual(self.response_detail.context['object'].slug, self.test_slug) def test_list_slug(self): self.failUnlessEqual(self.response_index.context['object_list'][0].slug, self.test_slug) def test_detail_template(self): self.assertContains(self.response_detail, self.test_title) self.assertContains(self.response_detail, self.test_content) def test_list_template(self): self.assertContains(self.response_index, self.test_title)

  • Django sitemap intermittent www

    - by Jen Z
    The automatic sitemap for my Django site fluctuates between including the www on urls and leaving it out (I'm aiming to have it in all the time). This has ramifications in google not indexing my pages properly so I'm trying to narrow down what would be causing this issue. I have set PREPEND_WWW = True and my site record in the sites framework is set to include the www e.g. it's set to www.example.com as opposed to example.com. I'm using memcached but pages should expire from the cache after 48 hours so I wouldn't have thought that would be causing the issue? You can see the problem in effect at http://www.livingspaceltd.co.uk/sitemap.xml (refresh the page a few times). My sitemaps setup is fairly prosaic so I'm doubtful that that is the issue, but in case it's something obvious I'm missing here's the code: ***urls.py*** sitemaps = { 'subpages': Subpages_Sitemap, 'standalone_pages': Standalone_Sitemap, 'categories': Categories_Sitemap, } urlpatterns = patterns('', (r'^sitemap\.xml$', 'django.contrib.sitemaps.views.sitemap', {'sitemaps': sitemaps}), ... ***sitemaps.py*** # -*- coding: utf-8 -*- from django_ls.livingspace.models import Page, Category, Standalone_Page, Subpage from django.contrib.sitemaps import Sitemap class Subpages_Sitemap(Sitemap): changefreq = "monthly" priority = 0.4 def items(self): return Subpage.objects.filter(restricted_to__isnull=True) class Standalone_Sitemap(Sitemap): changefreq = "weekly" priority = 1 def items(self): return Standalone_Page.objects.all() class Categories_Sitemap(Sitemap): changefreq = "weekly" priority = 0.7 def items(self): return Category.objects.all()

  • Python to C# with openSSL requirement

    - by fonix232
    Hey there again! Today I ran into a problem when I was making a new theme creator for chrome. As you may know, Chrome uses a "new" file format, called CRX, to manage it's plugins and themes. It is a basic zip file, but a bit modified: "Cr24" + derkey + signature + zipFile And here comes the problem. There are only two CRX creators, written in Ruby or Python. I don't know neither language too much (had some basic experience in Python though, but mostly with PyS60), so I would like to ask you to help me convert this python app to a C# class. Also, here is the source of crxmake.py: #!/usr/bin/python # Cribbed from http://github.com/Constellation/crxmake/blob/master/lib/crxmake.rb # and http://src.chromium.org/viewvc/chrome/trunk/src/chrome/tools/extensions/chromium_extension.py?revision=14872&content-type=text/plain&pathrev=14872 # from: http://grack.com/blog/2009/11/09/packing-chrome-extensions-in-python/ import sys from array import * from subprocess import * import os import tempfile def main(argv): arg0,dir,key,output = argv # zip up the directory input = dir + ".zip" if not os.path.exists(input): os.system("cd %(dir)s; zip -r ../%(input)s . -x '.svn/*'" % locals()) else: print "'%s' already exists using it" % input # Sign the zip file with the private key in PEM format signature = Popen(["openssl", "sha1", "-sign", key, input], stdout=PIPE).stdout.read(); # Convert the PEM key to DER (and extract the public form) for inclusion in the CRX header derkey = Popen(["openssl", "rsa", "-pubout", "-inform", "PEM", "-outform", "DER", "-in", key], stdout=PIPE).stdout.read(); out=open(output, "wb"); out.write("Cr24") # Extension file magic number header = array("l"); header.append(2); # Version 2 header.append(len(derkey)); header.append(len(signature)); header.tofile(out); out.write(derkey) out.write(signature) out.write(open(input).read()) os.unlink(input) print "Done." if __name__ == '__main__': main(sys.argv) Please could you help me?

  • Form (or Formset?) to handle multiple table rows in Django

    - by Ben
    Hi, I'm working on my first Django application. In short, what it needs to do is to display a list of film titles, and allow users to give a rating (out of 10) to each film. I've been able to use the {{ form }} and {{ formset }} syntax in a template to produce a form which lets you rate one film at a time, which corresponds to one row in a MySQL table, but how do I produce a form that iterates over all the movie titles in the database and produces a form that lets you rate lots of them at once? At first, I thought this was what formsets were for, but I can't see any way to automatically iterate over the contents of a database table to produce items to go in the form, if you see what I mean. Currently, my views.py has this code: def survey(request): ScoreFormSet = formset_factory(ScoreForm) if request.method == 'POST': formset = ScoreFormSet(request.POST, request.FILES) if formset.is_valid(): return HttpResponseRedirect('/') else: formset = ScoreFormSet() return render_to_response('cf/survey.html', { 'formset':formset, }) And my survey.html has this: <form action="/survey/" method="POST"> <table> {{ formset }} </table> <input type = "submit" value = "Submit"> </form> Oh, and the definition of ScoreForm and Score from models.py are: class Score(models.Model): movie = models.ForeignKey(Movie) score = models.IntegerField() user = models.ForeignKey(User) class ScoreForm(ModelForm): class Meta: model = Score So, in case the above is not clear, what I'm aiming to produce is a form which has one row per movie, and each row shows a title, and has a box to allow the user to enter their score. If anyone can point me at the right sort of approach to this, I'd be most grateful. Thanks, Ben

VALUES (%(user_id)s, %(user_name)s, %(email)s, ...) ...INFO sqlalchemy.engine.base.Engine.0x...954c {'user_id': u'4cfdafe3f46544e1b4ad0c7fccdbe24a', 'email': u'[email protected]', ...} > .../tests/unit_tests/test_signup.py(127)test_signup_success() -> user = user_q.filter_by(user_name='test').first() (Pdb) n ...INFO sqlalchemy.engine.base.Engine.0x...954c SELECT users.user_id AS users_user_id, ... FROM users WHERE users.user_name = %(user_name_1)s LIMIT 1 OFFSET 0 ...INFO sqlalchemy.engine.base.Engine.0x...954c {'user_name_1': 'test'} > .../tests/unit_tests/test_signup.py(128)test_signup_success() -> self.assertTrue(isinstance(user, model.User)) (Pdb) user <pweb.models.User object at 0x9c95b0c> (Pdb) user.email u'[email protected]' Yet at the same time when I login to the test database, I do not see the new record there. Is it some feature from Python/unittest/SQLAlchemy/Pyramid/PostgreSQL that I'm totally unaware of? Thanks. Jerry

  • wxPython - ListCrtl and SQLite3

    - by Dunwitch
    I'm trying to get a SQLite3 DB to populate a wx.ListCrtl. I can get it to print to stdout/stderr without any problem. I just can't seem to figure out how to display the data in the DataWindow/DataList? I'm sure I've made some code mistakes, so any help is appreciated. Main.py import wx import wx.lib.mixins.listctrl as listmix from database import * import sys class DataWindow(wx.Frame): def __init__(self, parent = None): wx.Frame.__init__(self, parent, -1, 'DataList', size=(640,480)) self.win = DataList(self) self.Center() self.Show(True) class DataList(wx.ListCtrl, listmix.ListCtrlAutoWidthMixin, listmix.ColumnSorterMixin): def __init__(self, parent = DataWindow): wx.ListCtrl.__init__( self, parent, -1, style=wx.LC_REPORT|wx.LC_VIRTUAL|wx.LC_HRULES|wx.LC_VRULES) #building the columns self.InsertColumn(0, "Location") self.InsertColumn(1, "Address") self.InsertColumn(2, "Subnet") self.InsertColumn(3, "Gateway") self.SetColumnWidth(0, 100) self.SetColumnWidth(1, 150) self.SetColumnWidth(2, 150) self.SetColumnWidth(3, 150) class MainWindow(wx.Frame): def __init__(self, parent = None, id = -1, title = "MainWindow"): wx.Frame.__init__(self, parent, id, title, size = (800,600), style = wx.DEFAULT_FRAME_STYLE ^ (wx.RESIZE_BORDER)) # StatusBar self.CreateStatusBar() # Filemenu filemenu = wx.Menu() # Filemenu - About menuitem = filemenu.Append(-1, "&About", "Information about this application") self.Bind(wx.EVT_MENU, self.onAbout, menuitem) #Filemenu - Data menuitem = filemenu.Append(-1, "&Data", "Get data") self.Bind(wx.EVT_MENU, self.onData, menuitem) # Filemenu - Seperator filemenu.AppendSeparator() #Filemenu - Exit menuitem = filemenu.Append(-1, "&Exit", "Exit the application") self.Bind(wx.EVT_MENU, self.onExit, menuitem) # Menubar menubar = wx.MenuBar() menubar.Append(filemenu, "&File") self.SetMenuBar(menubar) # Show self.Show(True) self.Center() def onAbout(self, event): pass def onData(self, event): DataWindow(self) callDb = Database() sql = "SELECT rowid, address, subnet, gateway FROM pod1" records = callDb.select(sql) for v in records: print "How do I get the records on the DataList?" #print "%s%s%s" % (v[1],v[2],v[3]) #for v in records: #DataList.InsertStringItem("%s") % (v[0], v[1], v[2]) def onExit(self, event): self.Close() self.Destroy() def onSave(self, event): pass if __name__ == '__main__': app = wx.App() frame = MainWindow(None, -1) frame.Show() app.MainLoop() database.py import os import sqlite3 class Database(object): def __init__(self, db_file="data/data.sqlite"): database_allready_exists = os.path.exists(db_file) self.db = sqlite3.connect(db_file) if not database_allready_exists: self.setupDefaultData() def select(self,sql): cursor = self.db.cursor() cursor.execute(sql) records = cursor.fetchall() cursor.close return records def insert(self,sql): newID = 0 cursor = self.db.cursor() cursor.execute(sql) newID = cursor.lastrowid self.db.commit() cursor.close() return newID def save(self,sql): cursor = self.db.cursor() cursor.execute(sql) self.db.commit() cursor.close() def setupDefaultData(self): pass

  • Macports and virtualenv site-packages Fallback

    - by Streeter
    I've installed django and python as this link suggested with macports. However, I'd like to use virtualenv to install more packages. My understanding is that if I do not pass in the --no-site-packages to virtualenv, I should get the currently installed packages in addition to whatever packages I install into the virtual environment. Is this correct? As an example, I've installed django through macports and then create a virtual environment, but I cannot import django from within that virtual environment: [streeter@mordecai]:~$ mkvirtualenv django-test New python executable in django-test/bin/python Installing setuptools............done. ... (django-test)[streeter@mordecai]:~$ pip install django-debug-toolbar Downloading/unpacking django-debug-toolbar Downloading django-debug-toolbar-0.8.4.tar.gz (80Kb): 80Kb downloaded Running setup.py egg_info for package django-debug-toolbar Installing collected packages: django-debug-toolbar Running setup.py install for django-debug-toolbar Successfully installed django-debug-toolbar Cleaning up... (django-test)[streeter@mordecai]:~$ python Python 2.6.1 (r261:67515, Jun 24 2010, 21:47:49) [GCC 4.2.1 (Apple Inc. build 5646)] on darwin Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information. >>> import django Traceback (most recent call last): File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module> ImportError: No module named django >>> So I can install packages into the virtual environment, but it isn't picking up the global site-packages. Or am I not doing something correctly / missing something / misunderstanding how virtualenv works? I've got Mac OS 10.6 (Snow Leopard), have updated my macports packages and am using macports' python26 (via python_select python26).
