Been tinkering with openCV in python. The face detection demo is impressive. Are there any free collection of Haar classifiers aside from the face, eyes and full body ones?
If I tile squares, and the squares can be defined by their coordinates, how can I simplify shapes made of multiple squares into vectors that define each edge of the entire shape? Pseudo-code or general terms are fine.
I am working on a Augmented reality Project where I plan to use ARToolkit for Image Capturing and rendering where as ARToolKitPlus for marker detection.
The problem is ARToolKit is a C library where as ARToolKit+ is written in C++. Can some one please sugegst me a way to integrate them both.
ARToolKit Library

I have a Ruby on Rails app running on 12001. I am currently redirecting a subdomain to 127.0.0.1:12001 using some ReWriteCond detection.
Now I want to redirect my subdirectory to that rails app.
http[s]://domain.com/redmine
to
127.0.0.1:12001
The current rules apply REQUEST_URI to the above rails path, but I need to strip "/redmine" from the front of REQUEST_URI...
Any ideas?
how do i detect internet idle time(time since i used internet) using delphi

{ idle time detection code goes here}
showmessage('you have not browsed any websites or downloaded/uploaded
for over xyz seconds');

Are there any libraries that instrument code to verify that methods called on swing components are called on the event dispatch thread? It probably wouldn't be too difficult to write some basic code for doing this, but I'm sure there are edge cases and whatnot that other people have handled. I'm looking for this at runtime though, not for unit tests.
thanks,
Jeff
Hy
I have to put a lot of images (100) to a UIView, with touch detection. If I use UIImageViewController I have ran out of memory. I've tried to draw the images manually, but in that case I can't detect wich image has been pushed.
So how would you do this?
I'm using JQuery as such:
$(window).resize(function() { ... });
However, it appears that if the person manually resizes their browser windows by dragging the window edge to make it larger/smaller, the .resize event above fires multiple times.
Question: How to I call a function AFTER the browser window resize completed (so that the event only fires once)?
Hey guys,
I would like to know how to mask part of an image that is in BLACK & WHITE ?
I got an object that needs to be edge detected, but I have other white interfering objects in the background that are below the target objet ... I would like to mask the entire lower part of an image to black, how can I do that ?
Thanks !!
I have just recently graduated from High School and I am looking for something productive to do over the summer. I was thinking of possibly learning a new language that can give me an edge in school or a good project to pursue that will look good on my resume for future jobs. Also how would I go about getting a job right out of high school or interning for a company for the summer?
Thanks in advance.
I'm attempting to draw a background to a chart. If I try to call
canvas.beginFill(0xff0000,1)
canvas.drawEllipse(10,200,300,-30);
canvas.endFill()
And -30 is outside the range of the chart, it won't draw anything. I want it to draw an ellipse that is cut off by the edge of the chart.
I have a scanned image of a book page and i need to crop this scan for leaving only page area. I tried to use AForge to detect page borders, but it doesn't work because the space which i need to crop may consist of little "light" areas (due to scanner quality) and edge detector detects borders there. That's why this is bad idea as for me.
Could you recommend something?
P.S. Please don't tell me to use non-free libraries.
Hi,
in words, can someone post directions towards finding the 'maximal' independent set in a simple graph?
I read up something from ETH site which said one can find such in O(n) by simply picking a random vertex v and than scanning the rest and attempting to find if there's an edge from v to the rest.
Thanks
Is there a way I can specify an input mask to the EditText control in Android?
I want be able to specify something like ### - ## - #### for a Social Security Number. This will cause any invalid input to be rejected automatically (example, I type alphabetical characters instead of numeric digits).
I realize that I can add an OnKeyListener and manually check for validity. But this is tedious and I will have to handle various edge cases.

Hi,
I want to implement proxy support in my application. There are two parts that needs to be implemented:
Detection of proxy details (protocol, host, port): I am using libproxy for that.
Connecting to the the proxy server and telling it to relay the packets. Get the connected socket and then use it in your application.
Is there library for the #2 part?
As you may know, in many occasions, there is a need to flag some elements of a matrix. For example when we have weighted adjacency matrix, and our graph is not fully connected, we have to flag some elements to show that there is no edge between those nodes. The question is how to do that? Is it better to put NaN or Inf on that elements in the matrix? or something elese(such as -1)?
On our website http://www.dimagi.com, the items in the jQuery menu near the top of the screen gain a background-color on hover. The hover background-color of the rightmost list item ("About Us") is cut off at the very right edge of the text, seemingly only in WebKit (tested Safari and Chrome in Windows XP).
Can anybody see what I might be doing wrong in the CSS? Or is this some obscure WebKit bug?
I have created a table with draggable rows. Unfortunately, most of the rows are covered with a large textbox input element. In order to drag the rows, you have to grab the row on the very edge just outside of the textbox. Is there a way to allow the rows to be grabbed through the textboxes without destroying the textbox functionality? (i.e. relay the mouse drag event, but not the mouseclick event?)
Hi, I am working on an iPhone app and I am trying to make something that has to do with line-circle collision detection. I am using the slope of the line and checking if the coordinates of a circle suffice the equation y = mx + b. But, with the current origin (0,0) at the top left it is a pain to get the slope. Any way I can convert the coordinates so the origin is in the center of the screen?
I was wondering if anyone has come up with an ASP.net server tag for the HTML5 canvas? I was thinking of something where I could declaritively define paths, curves; etc in the aspx markup, and the control would deliver the js to do this (perhaps with support for browser detection, and delivery of an emulation script for IE browsers.)
Maybe a good idea for a Codeplex project for me to start up?
As an FNH user, do you find you sometimes need to supplement FNH with an hbm file? Any relatively common edge cases where you do, if so?
Cheers,
Berryl
I've got a Google map, standard fare really. It's quite small though and the popup info windows on the markers are quite big, so my question is, is it possible for these popup windows to spill out the edge of the map and on to the actual website? (See dodgy photoshop job for an example).
Thanks!
I know you can programmatically determine the tranparency color of a .gif
Is there a way to do the same for a Bitmap?
Right now, I am doing this heuristically by sampling around the outer edge but of course this is not 100% reliable.
What is Windows' best I/O event notification facility?
By best I mean something that ...
doesn't have a limit on number of input file descriptors
works on all file descriptors (disk files, sockets, ...)
provides various notification modes (edge triggered, limit triggered)
