  • Groups issue on Ubuntu

    - by grobarTN
Hello, I am member of couple of groups lets say Master, Student, Web. The problem is that by default whatever I do is first created under student group. I need to set it so it is created with Web group. Folder www/ where I need to write file is already mode 770. But because it picks up my student group it does not allow me to write to that folder. Is there any way to change the group that I create files under. If I execute groups it lists all groups so I am member of correct group I just cant write to the folder. Anyone?

  • How to run PowerShell scripts via automation without running into Host issues

    - by Scott Weinstein
I'm looking to run some powershell scripts via automation. Something like: IList errors; Collection<PSObject> res = null; using (RunspaceInvoke rsi = new RunspaceInvoke()) { try { res = rsi.Invoke(commandline, null, out errors); } catch (Exception ex) { LastErrorMessage = ex.ToString(); Debug.WriteLine(LastErrorMessage); return 1; } } the problem I'm facing is that if my script uses cmdlets such as write-host the above throws an System.Management.Automation.CmdletInvocationException - Cannot invoke this function because the current host does not implement it. What are some good options for getting around this problem?

  • Brainstorming: Weird JPA problem, possibly classpath or jar versioning problem???

    - by Vinnie
I'm seeing a weird error message and am looking for some ideas as to what the problem could be. I'm sort of new to using the JPA. I have an application where I'm using Spring's Entity Manager Factory (LocalContainerEntityManagerFactoryBean), EclipseLink as my ORM provider, connected to a MySQL DB and built with Maven. I'm not sure if any of this matters..... When I deploy this application to Glassfish, the application works as expected. The problem is, I've created a set of stand alone unit tests to run outside of Glassfish that aren't working correctly. I get the following error (I've edited the class names a little) com.xyz.abc.services.persistence.entity.MyEntity cannot be cast to com.xyz.abc.services.persistence.entity.MyEntity The object cannot be cast to a class of the same type? How can that be? Here's a snippet of the code that is in error Query q = entityManager.createNamedQuery("MyEntity.findAll"); List entityObjects = q.getResultList(); for (Object entityObject: entityObjects) { com.xyz.abc.services.persistence.entity.MyEntity entity = (com.xyz.abc.services.persistence.entity.MyEntity) entityObject; Previously, I had this code that produced the same error: CriteriaQuery cq = entityManager.getCriteriaBuilder().createQuery(); cq.select(cq.from(com.xyz.abc.services.persistence.entity.MyEntity.class)); List entityObjects = entityManager.createQuery(cq).getResultList(); for (Object entityObject: entityObjects) { com.xyz.abc.services.persistence.entity.MyEntity entity = (com.xyz.abc.services.persistence.entity.MyEntity) entityObject; This code is question is the same that I have deployed to the server. Here's the innermost exception if it helps Caused by: java.lang.ClassCastException: com.xyz.abc.services.persistence.entity.MyEntity cannot be cast to com.xyz.abc.services.persistence.entity.MyEntity at com.xyz.abc.services.persistence.entity.factory.MyEntityFactory.createBeans(MyEntityFactory.java:47) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:39) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:25) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:597) at org.springframework.beans.factory.support.SimpleInstantiationStrategy.instantiate(SimpleInstantiationStrategy.java:115) ... 37 more I'm guessing that there's some jar I'm using in Glassfish that is different than the ones I'm using in test. I've looked at all the jars I have listed as "provided" and am pretty sure they are all the same ones from Glassfish. Let me know if you've seen this weird issue before, or any ideas for correcting it.

  • Crashes when using AVAudioPlayer on iPhone

    - by mindthief
Hi all, I am trying to use AVAudioPlayer to play some sounds in quick succession. When I invoke the sound-playing function less frequently so that the sounds play fully before the function is invoked again, the application runs fine. But if I invoke the function quickly in rapid succession (so that sounds are played while the previous sounds are still being played), the app eventually crashes after ~20 calls to the function, with the message "EXC_BAD_ACCESS". Here is code from the function: NSString *nsWavPath = [[[NSBundle mainBundle] resourcePath] stringByAppendingPathComponent:wavFileName]; AVAudioPlayer* theAudio = [[AVAudioPlayer alloc] initWithContentsOfURL:[NSURL fileURLWithPath:nsWavPath] error:NULL]; theAudio.delegate = self; [theAudio play]; As mentioned in another thread, I implemented the following delegate function: - (void) audioPlayerDidFinishPlaying:(AVAudioPlayer *)player successfully:(BOOL)flag { if(!flag) NSLog(@"audio did NOT finish successfully\n"); [player release]; } But the app still crashes after around ~20 rapid calls to the function. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

  • setup.py install dependency too?

    - by Jason Sundram
I have a python source distribution, and it depends on some other modules that I've also made. The directory tree looks like this. I've written a setup.py file for one of those modules (pydirac225, for those of you who are following along at home), and I want to have that setup.py called from the main setup.py? Another module dependency (pysoundtouch14) has a setup.py file, but the contents of it are basically pasted into the main setup.py script. It seems more modular to allow each of these components to specify how they are set up, and allow the main setup file to invoke their setup scripts individually. Is there a standard way to deal with this issue? To recap: I have some code that depends on other modules: should the other module's setup code go in the main setup.py, or is there a way to have my code's setup.py invoke their setup.py files?

  • .Net opening and closing database connections

    - by Dan
I designed the data access portion of our framework so that every time a business object needs to interact with the database it would have to open a connection, invoke the data access layer (to execute the query), and then close the connection. Then if it needed to run in a transaction it would open the connection, begin the transaction, invoke the data access layer (to execute the query) and then commit the transaction, close the transaction, and finally close the connection. I did it this way with the mindset of open late and close early... but what if I needed to call other BO's to submit data in a single transaction? Is there a better way to handle opening and closing connections as well as working with transactions? I'm a rookie in designing application architecture so I hope I'm not doing this wrongly... any help is appreciated.

  • Android - Service and Activity interaction

    - by Chris
I want to create an app that contains a Service S and an Activity A. The Service S is responsible for preprocessing, such as preparing the data shown on the UI of the Activity A, before the Activity A gets invoked. I want to be able to invoke the Service S from outside the package, say from another Android app's Activity class B, do the preprocessing, and then when the data is ready, invoke Activity A. My questions are: What is the best way to share data between the Service S and Activity A? How can the external activity B communicate with the Service S to determine if it has completed with all its preprocessing, and the Activity A is ready to be invoked? Thanks Chris

  • How to use AIR 2.0 NativeProcess API with Java?

    - by dede
How do you use this great new API in connection with Java? Do you use just pure native process API like nativeProcess.standardInput.write() and nativeProcess.standardOutput.read() with which you cannot debug Java side neither invoke remote java method. Or you are using some library that leverages remote method invocation such as flerry lib but that also cannot debug Java side? Or maybe you are using Merapi with which you can debug but cannot remotely invoke Java method? I'm asking this because this is maybe the most important question regarding this API and its ease of use.

There have two image which can be download from server in a list item, it will show one image and will show another image when user select or click this item . if I try to download another image from server when user click it,the user will never have time to see it, for this time is shorter than download image form server, so i want to download two of them, and when I click it again, the app can invoke another image from local. but I do not know how to invoke this image ? • How to generalise the endpoints in my channelfactory

    - by Meher
Hi, I have a requirement to actually generalise the endpoints of different WCF services, create a proxy and invoke the action. We have like 4 pages and 4 services to serve those pages. For each n every page we have to call the specific service endpoint and invoke the action Example:: private IList<FunctionCodes> i_oFunctionList; ChannelFactory<IFunctionService> m_oFunctionFactory; IFunctionService m_oFunctionProxy; m_oFunctionFactory = new ChannelFactory("FunctionServiceEndPoint"); i_oFunctionList= m_oFunctionProxy.GetAllFunction(iFirstResult, iMaxPageSize, "", "", "", out iRows); BindGrid bindGrid = new BindGrid(DisplayGrid1); bindGrid.DataTable = BuildDataTable(i_oFunctionList); So the requirement is we want to move this section(binding the grid) to a user control, generalising the endpoints, create the proxy and implement. Is there any way to achieve this? Quick responses are really appreciated.

  • Workflow 4.0 code activities calling other activites (persist, delay etc)

    - by Lygpt
    I have a bunch of Workflow foundation 4.0 RC code activities that consume web services and talk to databases that I want to add some error handling in. I would really like to be able to attempt to call my web service / db, catch any faults such as a communication failure and then retry the same operation in 1 hours time (after I have logged the exception). Is there a way of doing something like this? protected override void Execute(CodeActivityContext context) { Persist(); // I would like to invoke the persist activity like this if (!AttemptServiceCall()) { // I would like to invoke a delay activity like this Delay(new TimeSpan(0, 30, 0)); // wait 30 mins before trying again Execute(context); // call this activity again } } private bool AttemptServiceCall() { bool serviceCallSuccessful = true; try { myService.InvokeSomeMethod(); } catch (CommunicationException ex) { myEventLogger.Log(ex); serviceCallSuccessful = false; } return serviceCallSuccessful; }

  • Java.lang.reflext.Proxy returning another proxy from invocation results in ClassCastException on ass

    - by matao
So I'm playing with geotools and I thought I'd proxy one of their data-access classes and trace how it was being used in their code. I coded up a dynamic proxy and wrapped a FeatureSource (interface) in it and off it went happily. Then I wanted to look at some of the transitive objects returned by the featureSource as well, since the main thing a FeatureSource does is return a FeatureCollection (FeatureSource is analogous to a sql DataSource and featurecollection to an sql statement). in my invocationhandler I just passed the call through to the underlying object, printing out the target class/method/args and result as I went, but for calls that returned a FeatureCollection (another interface), I wrapped that object in my proxy (the same class but a new instance, shouldn't matter should it?) and returned it. BAM! Classcast exception: java.lang.ClassCastException: $Proxy5 cannot be cast to org.geotools.feature.FeatureCollection at $Proxy4.getFeatures(Unknown Source) at MyClass.myTestMethod(MyClass.java:295) the calling code: FeatureSource<SimpleFeatureType, SimpleFeature> featureSource = ... // create the FS featureSource = (FeatureSource<SimpleFeatureType, SimpleFeature>) FeatureSourceProxy.newInstance(featureSource, features); featureSource.getBounds();// ok featureSource.getSupportedHints();// ok DefaultQuery query1 = new DefaultQuery(DefaultQuery.ALL); FeatureCollection<SimpleFeatureType, SimpleFeature> results = featureSource.getFeatures(query1); //<- explosion here the Proxy: public class FeatureSourceProxy implements java.lang.reflect.InvocationHandler { private Object target; private List<SimpleFeature> features; public static Object newInstance(Object obj, List<SimpleFeature> features) { return java.lang.reflect.Proxy.newProxyInstance( obj.getClass().getClassLoader(), obj.getClass().getInterfaces(), new FeatureSourceProxy(obj, features) ); } private FeatureSourceProxy(Object obj, List<SimpleFeature> features) { this.target = obj; this.features = features; } public Object invoke(Object proxy, Method m, Object[] args)throws Throwable{ Object result = null; try { if("getFeatures".equals(m.getName())){ result = interceptGetFeatures(m, args); } else{ result = m.invoke(target, args); } } catch (Exception e) { throw new RuntimeException("unexpected invocation exception: " + e.getMessage(), e); } return result; } private Object interceptGetFeatures(Method m, Object[] args) throws Exception{ return newInstance(m.invoke(target, args), features); } } Is it possible to dynamically return proxies of interfaces from a proxied interface or am I doing something wrong? cheers!

  • Sunspot_Rails Rake Aborted When Running Reindex

    - by Walter Chen
I'm getting the following output after running rake sunspot:reindex. I'm a novice at Rails. I want to add sunspot_rails to my project to add search functionality (with the hope of deploying the project with Heroku). I'm using Rails 3. I followed the instructions here: https://github.com/outoftime/sunspot/blob/master/sunspot_rails/README.rdoc. My various other attempts to diagnose the problem included: installing sunspot in addition to sunspot_rails. I ended up with sunspot_rails v. 1.2.0 and 1.2.1 so I uninstalled 1.2.1 because I have sunspot_rails 1.2.0. installed the nokogiri gem which I understand is a dependency for sunspot_rails. installed libxml2 separately following the instructions here to install nokogiri: http://www.engineyard.com/blog/2010/getting-started-with-nokogiri/ ** Invoke sunspot:reindex (first_time) ** Invoke environment (first_time) ** Execute environment ** Execute sunspot:reindex rake aborted! undefined local variable or method counter' for [removed pound]<Class:0x10359aef8> /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/activerecord-3.0.3/lib/active_record/base.rb:1008:inmethod_missing' /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/sunspot_rails-1.2.0/lib/sunspot/rails/searchable.rb:235:in solr_index' /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/activerecord-3.0.3/lib/active_record/relation/batches.rb:71:infind_in_batches' /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/activerecord-3.0.3/lib/active_record/base.rb:440:in __send__' /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/activerecord-3.0.3/lib/active_record/base.rb:440:infind_in_batches' /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/sunspot_rails-1.2.0/lib/sunspot/rails/searchable.rb:234:in solr_index' /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/sunspot_rails-1.2.0/lib/sunspot/rails/searchable.rb:184:insolr_reindex' /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/sunspot_rails-1.2.0/lib/sunspot/rails/tasks.rb:57 /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/sunspot_rails-1.2.0/lib/sunspot/rails/tasks.rb:56:in each' /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/sunspot_rails-1.2.0/lib/sunspot/rails/tasks.rb:56 /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/rake-0.8.7/lib/rake.rb:636:incall' /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/rake-0.8.7/lib/rake.rb:636:in execute' /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/rake-0.8.7/lib/rake.rb:631:ineach' /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/rake-0.8.7/lib/rake.rb:631:in execute' /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/rake-0.8.7/lib/rake.rb:597:ininvoke_with_call_chain' /System/Library/Frameworks/Ruby.framework/Versions/1.8/usr/lib/ruby/1.8/monitor.rb:242:in synchronize' /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/rake-0.8.7/lib/rake.rb:590:ininvoke_with_call_chain' /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/rake-0.8.7/lib/rake.rb:583:in invoke' /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/rake-0.8.7/lib/rake.rb:2051:ininvoke_task' /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/rake-0.8.7/lib/rake.rb:2029:in top_level' /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/rake-0.8.7/lib/rake.rb:2029:ineach' /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/rake-0.8.7/lib/rake.rb:2029:in top_level' /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/rake-0.8.7/lib/rake.rb:2068:instandard_exception_handling' /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/rake-0.8.7/lib/rake.rb:2023:in top_level' /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/rake-0.8.7/lib/rake.rb:2001:inrun' /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/rake-0.8.7/lib/rake.rb:2068:in standard_exception_handling' /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/rake-0.8.7/lib/rake.rb:1998:inrun' /Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/rake-0.8.7/bin/rake:31 /usr/bin/rake:19:in `load' /usr/bin/rake:19 This is what I have in class I'd like to search: searchable do text :fname text :mname text :lname, :default_boost => 2 end Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • How to load a springframework ApplicationContext from Jython

    - by staticman
I have a class that loads a springframework application context like so: package com.offlinesupport; import org.springframework.context.ApplicationContext; import org.springframework.context.support.ClassPathXmlApplicationContext; public class OfflineScriptSupport { private static ApplicationContext appCtx; public static final void initialize() { appCtx = new ClassPathXmlApplicationContext( new String[] { "mycontext.spring.xml" } ); } public static final ApplicationContext getApplicationContext() { return appCtx; } public static final void main( String[] args ) { System.out.println( "Starting..." ); initialize(); System.out.println( "loaded" ); } } The class OfflineScriptSupport, and the file mycontext.spring.xml are each deployed into separate jars (along with other classes and resources in their respective modules). Lets say the jar files are OfflineScriptSupport.jar and *MyContext.jar". mycontext.spring.xml is put at the root of the jar. In a Jython script (*myscript.jy"), I try to call the initialize method to create the application context: from com.offlinesupport import OfflineScriptSupport OfflineScriptSupport.initialize(); I execute the Jython script with the following command (from Linux): jython -Dpython.path=spring.jar:OfflineScriptSupport.jar:MyContext.jar myscript.jy The Springframework application context cannot find the mycontext.spring.xml file. It displays the following error: java.io.FileNotFoundException: class path resource [mycontext.spring.xml] cannot be opened because it does not exist at org.springframework.core.io.ClassPathResource.getInputStream(ClassPathResource.java:137) at org.springframework.beans.factory.xml.XmlBeanDefinitionReader.loadBeanDefinitions(XmlBeanDefinitionReader.java:167) at org.springframework.beans.factory.xml.XmlBeanDefinitionReader.loadBeanDefinitions(XmlBeanDefinitionReader.java:148) at org.springframework.beans.factory.support.AbstractBeanDefinitionReader.loadBeanDefinitions(AbstractBeanDefinitionReader.java:126) at org.springframework.beans.factory.support.AbstractBeanDefinitionReader.loadBeanDefinitions(AbstractBeanDefinitionReader.java:142) at org.springframework.context.support.AbstractXmlApplicationContext.loadBeanDefinitions(AbstractXmlApplicationContext.java:113) at org.springframework.context.support.AbstractXmlApplicationContext.loadBeanDefinitions(AbstractXmlApplicationContext.java:81) at org.springframework.context.support.AbstractRefreshableApplicationContext.refreshBeanFactory(AbstractRefreshableApplicationContext.java:89) at org.springframework.context.support.AbstractApplicationContext.refresh(AbstractApplicationContext.java:269) at org.springframework.context.support.ClassPathXmlApplicationContext.<init>(ClassPathXmlApplicationContext.java:87) at org.springframework.context.support.ClassPathXmlApplicationContext.<init>(ClassPathXmlApplicationContext.java:72) at com.offlinesupport.OfflineScriptSupport.initialize(OfflineScriptSupport.java:27) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:39) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:25) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:597) If I run the jar directly from Java (using the main entry point in OfflineScriptSupport) it works and there is no error thrown. Is there something special about the way Jython handles classpaths making the Springframework's ClassPathXmlApplicationContext not work (i.e. not be able to find resource files in the classpath)?

  • NTFS Permission Structure to allow Traversal but no Modification except in Leaf Nodes?

    - by pepoluan
Assume there's this folder structure: D:\ --+-- Acctg --+-- Payable | +-- Receivable | +-- Fin --+-- Inv | +-- Tax | +-- Treas | +-- Mrktg --+-- Ads +-- Promo Users are not allowed to change the structure, but they are free to create & delete files & folders in the leaf nodes (i.e., the rightmost folders). AGDLP principle said that I should assign permissions on the above folders to DL-Groups. Let's say I have a G-Group of users, G-Accounting-Payable, containing users that have access to the D:\Acctg\Payable folder. The way I see it, I have two strategies: - Strategy 1 Create three DL-Groups and assign them permissions: DL-D-Acctg_T -- allowed traversal of D:\Acctg folder DL-D-Acctg-Pay_LF -- allowed listing of D:\Acctg\Payable folder contents DL-D-Acctg-Pay__RW -- allowed full permissions to the contents of D:\Acctg\Payable folder Add G-Accounting-Payable as member to all the above DL-Groups - Strategy 2 Create just one DL-Group DL-D-Acctg-Pay__RW, and assign it the proper permissions for each level of the folder. Then, add G-Accounting-Payable as member to that DL-Group. - Which strategy is the Recommended Best Practice, and why?

first I need to say that I´m noob with WPF and C#. Application: Create Mandelbrot Image (GUI) My disptacher works perfektly this this case: private void progressBarRefresh(){ while ((con.Progress) < 99) { progressBar1.Dispatcher.Invoke(DispatcherPriority.Send, new Action(delegate { progressBar1.Value = con.Progress; } )); } } I get the Message (Title) when tring to do this with the below code: bmp = BitmapSource.Create(width, height, 96, 96, pf, null, rawImage, stride); this.Dispatcher.Invoke(DispatcherPriority.Send, new Action(delegate { img.Source = bmp; ViewBox.Child = img; //vllt am schluss } )); I will try to explain how my program works. I created a new Thread (because GUI dont response) for the calculation of the pixels and the colors. In this Thread(Mehtod) I´m using the Dispatcher to Refresh my Image in the ViewBox after the calculations are ready. When I´m dont put the calculation in a seperate Thread then I can refresh or build my Image.
