• tomcat dns forwarding to multiple applications

  I recently installed business objects software on tomcat 6. I have 2 domains - domain1 and domain2. This software allows access to two of its applications via these URLS: ADDRESS:http://myservername.domain1:8080/BO/APP1 and ADDRESS:http://myservername.domain1:8080/BO/APP2. Instead of these urls, I would like the end users to access these apps via something like http://bobj.domain2.com:8080/BO/APP1 and http://bobj.domain2.com:8080/BO/APP2. I cannot figure out how to accomplish that. I have looked into the option of http redirect (not good because the destination address shows up in the address bar), domain forwarding (not sure if it would work with multiple applications and forwarding from one domain to another) and also using apache tomcat with mod_jk by using virtual hosts (not sure if it is possible when forwarding from one domain to a sub domain in another domain) ?? please advise as to what would be my best option and how to accomplish. thanks a bunch

  Hello, world!, I have a VPS set up with multiple domain names pointing to it. Arbitrarily, I like to access it via SSH through the domain name I'm dealing with. So for example, if I'm doing something with example1.com, I'll log in with ssh [email protected], and if I'm working with example2.com, I'll log in with ssh [email protected]. They both point to the same user on the same machine. However, because SSH keeps track of the server's fingerprint, it tells me that there is an offending host key, and makes me confirm access. $ ssh [email protected] Warning: the ECDSA host key for 'example2.com' differs from the key for the IP address '123.123.123.123' Offending key for IP in /home/me/.ssh/known_hosts:33 Matching host key in /home/me/.ssh/known_hosts:38 Are you sure you want to continue connecting (yes/no)? • Replicating/Synchronizng multiple tables across diffrent Databases on the same instance

  I have few tables that needed to be replicated/synchronized across several databases in our SQL Server 2008 cluster. I know it's possible to replicate between multiple instances, but I'm looking for replication or synchronization in the same instance between specific tables of databases. The replicaiton/synchronization should happen every half-hour or so, but I don't mind it happening constantly. I can't use DROP the target table and INSERT (copy) the source table since there are many constraints. Reason for this is to not manage in the application layer and write to 2 different databases at the same time. Example: DB1 has T1, T2 and T3 - these are constantly being updated by the application, APP1 running on DB1. DB2 needs to have an updated copy of T1 at all times, also, there is a different application, APP2 runs only on DB2. Both DB1 and DB2 are located on the same instance, INST1. Would it be possible to replicate T1, T2 and T3 from DB1 to DB2 ? Thanks, Idan.

The sites use different virtual hosts and different ServerNames, but I have no control over the directory structure of the sites because they are maintained by a client. Until now, they have been content with only allowing one site to run at a time, but this is a major hassle, so I need to know if there's a workaround.

  I need a database engine that can utilize multiple servers for processing a single SQL query in parallel. So far I know that this is possible with the some engines, though none of them are feasible for me either because of pricing or missing features. The engines currently known to me are: MS SQL (enterprise) DB2 (enterprise) Oracle (enterprise) GridSQL Greenplum Which other engines have this feature? • Use cURL with multiple POSTs

  I'm trying to use cURL to download the contents of webpages that require forms to get to. In a browser it looks something like this 1.) Login using POST 2.) Pick which page to go to using another POST 3.) Pick another page... using POST 4.) etc.. until I get to the page I want, then download all textfiles linked to on that page. I am attempting to do this using a bash script and some loops with the values that change for each POST. My problem is how do I do multiple POSTs with cURL? Must there be cookies involved? FYI the website is http://metagenomics.nmpdr.org/ (MG-RAST).

• Issues with DHCP over multiple subnets

  I have a cisco router configured to handle multiple subnets (10.1.10.n, 10.2.10.n, etc), and an ubuntu system serving DHCP to the computers served by the router. After a restart of the DHCP, the systems on the 10.1 subnet are fine, but neither the server or the computers configured on the other subnets can see the router at 10.2.10.1 (or 10.3.10.1, or 10.4.10.1). The router can see itself at 10.2.10.1, however. The change that caused this was restarting the server, so I'm approaching it assuming the configuration error is on that end. Is that the likely issue or is there a different problem that would prevent the machines on the 10.2.10 subnet from resolving DHCP?

  Is there a way to set the DNS Suffix for multiple network adapters in a VM using the sysprep file? We are trying to setup Windows 2003 VMs with 2 network adapters. In the one adapter case the sysprep we are able to set the suffix using DNSDomain. But this doesnt work in the 2 adapter case. The The VM is setup corrently though without any issues but one of our apps relies on the DNS Suffix value to work correctly. Thanks in advance.

• Dialing into multiple PPP connections on Ubuntu

  I have multiple 3G USB based Modems. I would like them to keep connected simultaneously, NOT necessarily aggregating their bandwidth; a separate intelligent application would manage their utilization effectively. However I am running into problem of setting up proper routes for the ppp0,ppp1 interfaces: when one of them connects, other's entries in the routing table get updated so it is no more usable. If I reconnect the second one, it would override the first one's routing entries. If I do it over and over, sometimes both of them's entries disappear while in rare cases the two work well. I have tried it both using NetworkManager as well as WVDial but issue pops up in both of these. Perhaps both of them use same PPP dialer at the backend and thats why this issue appears. What is the proper solution to make them work together? In the long run, I'd also like them to automatically dial in once USB gets connected.

  Just did a clean install of Win7 x64. I have a Microsoft Ergo Keyboard 4000 and use the calculator key a lot. Previously I could hit it and get multiple copies of calculator to popup. Now it will only show one copy of calculator. I tried adding a shortcut to the calculator app but it has the same limitation. However if I click the calculator icon it will open a new one each time. How can I fix this so each time I press the calculator key it will open a new copy?

• IIS Reverse Proxy support for multiple protocols

  I have a server 2012 machine running IIS. It's in my DMZ and I would like to use it to do reverse proxy for several services. I can get it to route traffic on port 80 to 2 separate internal servers running web apps but there are some issues when I try to forward SSH (not port 80/443) and then when I try to forward OWA (Micrsoft exchange's 'webmail' services) to the internal mail server I run in to issues with guides (like this: http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2013/07/19/reverse-proxy-for-exchange-server-2013-using-iis-arr-part-1.aspx) when they say to have all traffic forwarded to the server farm created for OWA. My question for you all is this - given that there is no more Threat Management Gateway (only runs on server 2008) and ISA 2006 is also dead - is it possible to support multiple types of reverse proxies with different protocols (ftp, ssh, web, ssl-web) in IIS, or would it be better to install a different DMZ OS like a nginx server and use linux firewalls + nginx reverse proxy?   While testing to send multiple emails, I successfully sent about 100 emails (with a 20KB pdf attachment), to the same email-address (my own), and they were all received. But on next attempt, my cPanel account was blocked, due to a "brute force attempt". Are there any special precautions I need to take when sending bulk emails? I simply looped through below code without pause for each email.   Is it possible to have multiple VLANs in the same subnet, with the same gateway address (TMG)? I want to avoid having many Subnets (and vNIC's in TMG) just to isolate sets of a few hosts. IP: 10.0.0.1 (TMG server) VLAN:1 ~ 3 IP: 10.0.0.11 ~ 20 (Hosts group 1) VLAN:1 IP: 10.0.0.21 ~ 30 (Hosts group 2) VLAN:2 IP: 10.0.0.31 ~ 40 (Hosts group 3) VLAN:3 Note that I don't want them to connect to each other, so ARP/inter-vlan routing (within the subnet) is not required. The gateway is running in a VM within ESXi 5, I can pass the VLans to the VM using VGT or VLan Range, but I don't know how the OS/TMG should handle them.

• Okular (on Ubuntu 9.10) prints multiple pages per sheet (n-up) very small

  I'm trying to print a set of beamer slides with multiple slides per page (4-up or 6-up). When I select 4 pages or 6 pages per sheet in the Okular print dialog, the pages print quite small (perhaps even tiny -- about 1.75" by 1.25") and leave significant white-space on the page. I can get around this behavior by using the pdfnup utility (in the pdfjam package); which will correctly generate a 4- or 6-up pdf file but it's annoying to generate a second pdf file when I should be able to accomplish this task from the print dialog. Details: Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic), 64-bit, Color Postscript printer.

I have a site called testsite.co.za, now in the index.php i want to include the include.php file, the include.php is not in the root of testsite.co.za, Now i created another folder includes in the web root directory which contains include.php my code looks as follows in testsite.co.za/index.php require_once '../includes/include.php'; if i run testsite.co.za it can't detect include.php. Is there a certain server setting I need to change in order to include this file? • How to parse pipe with multiple commands independently?

  How can I parse output of a single command by multiple commands without truncating at each step? For example ls -al|grep -i something will pass every line that has "something" in it to the next pipe which is fine, but that also means every other line in the pipe is discarded since there wont be matching the condition. What I want is to be able to operate on single pipe by many commands independently. In this case it a pipe from Mutt which passes the whole message body. I want to get grep, sed, delete and assign each of these to bash variables maybe. Initially what I want is to be able to assign "message id" to a variable, "subject" to another variable etc Then pass those into proper commands arguments. Here is how it will be MessageBodyFromMutt|grep something -Ax -Bx |grep another thing from the original message| sed some stuff from the original message| cut from here to there Obviously the above line does not do what I want. I want all these commands to operate on the original message body. I hope it makes sense

• Unable to copy multiple files from remote sftp via ssh

  I am trying to copy multiple (1000s) .JPG files from remote SFTP server to current server using mget command but it is not working. Here is the command that I used sftp [email protected] sftp> cd /images sftp> mget *.JPG Screenshot at http://i.stack.imgur.com/bSciQ.png Nothing happens so when I do CTRL + C it gives an error that says File "/images/*.JPG" not found. I have already referred all suggestions posted on the forum but nothing is working. Let me know if there is another way to copy.

• Recommend a mail server setup for multiple domains

  Hi all, I've just set up a new Debian web server which I have done plenty of times before, but I want to add a mail server which I have never done before. I am aware of this question, but I would like someone to recommend packages and briefly explain how to use them for providing pop/imap access on multiple domains, a concept that has confused me for a while. I'm planning for this server to grow slowly but surely, from serving an initial 5 or 6 domains to about 20 in the first year, continuing at this rate. (yes, I've jumped on the cloud bandwaggon). At the moment, I have a DNS-A record pointing to my server's IP and nothing else. I'm assuming that I need a DNS-MX record pointing there too, but I haven't read up about it yet so today that's what I'll be doing. Hopefully reading up on the subject and the help that I get here will get my server up and running in no time. Thanks!

• Remote desktop to multiple windows machines on a LAN with dynamic IP

  Is it possible to use remote desktop to connect to multiple computers inside a network that has a dynamic IP address? I use a netgear WPN824 router which has dyndns onboard - but I currently use No-IP to control a single computer that I use most frequently. Every so often I need to get onto a couple of other computers in the network, but don't know how to go about this without logging onto one computer, and then starting another RDC session from that machine. What I would like to be able to do is connect to my router, and be able to see a list of connected devices, and then choose which to remote desktop onto. - I appreciate this probably is not be possible, but any other suggestions are welcome!

• Merging and sorting multiple files with "sort"

  Hello, I have a bunch of text logfiles in the following format: ID (17 characters) Timestamp (14 characters YYYYmmddHHMMSS e.g. "20060210100040" -> 2006/02/10 10:00:40) Random data (? characters) end of line The files are already sorted by timestamp. I need to get 1 log file with all the logs from multiple logs files, sorted by timestamp. Note that the log files are really huge, around 3-4G each (and there are dozens of them) I tried the following command: sort -s -m -t '|' -k1n,1n +17 -o data_sort.txt *.TXT Here is how I ended up with this command: -s : don't bother with tie results -m : merge all logs files -t '|' : there is no | in my logs, so the whole line should be field 1 -k1n,1n: sort on the first field as a numeric value +17 : the timestamp starts at index 17 -o : output file Actually... it fails miserably. The output file data_sort.txt is just the concatenation of all files, not sorted at all :( I would greatly appreciate if anyone could provide any help on this problem! Thanks

By now, I have a shell script that starts an application in the foreground and waits for the termination of the application afterwards starts several applications (like browser, mailer, IRC client) in the background The script is working, however all the applications are getting the same icon and are treated like different windows of one application, i.e. the script. Is there a way to start applications from a script, that makes Unity display the icons of the applications, e.g. the Thunderbird icon, instead of a single default icon for the script?
