configuration issue with respect to .htaccess file on ubuntu

I am building an application tshirtshop I have following configuration in /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/tshirtshop <VirtualHost *:80> ServerAdmin webmaster@localhost DocumentRoot /var/www/tshirtshop <Directory /var/www/tshirtshop> Options Indexes FollowSymLinks AllowOverride All Order allow,deny allow from all </Directory> ErrorLog ${APACHE_LOG_DIR}/error.log # Possible values include: debug, info, notice, warn, error, crit, # alert, emerg.
