  Can a Barracuda SF 300 reject mail based on DNS? Specifically can it respond with a 4XX code for mail claiming to be from a domain without a valid MX or A record (similar to postfix's smtpd_sender_restrictions = reject_unknown_sender_domain). If so, how do I set it? (I realize it's probably something simple I've overlooked.) The barracuda can resolve using its configured name servers. The name servers can correctly resolve external domains.

• Reverse proxy setup for distributed storage

  I have 4 file servers that I want to access under a single mount point from another server. This server has a web application that should serve content from the mounted point. I think I can achieve this with glusterfs. Considering that the file servers have fairly powerful hardware, I want to install a webserver on each of them and serve those files via a reverse proxy.   I was wondering what would be the best way to implement DNS filterting. The scenario is this: we need to setup two custom DNS servers to use on our company's computers so that we can filter DNS requests for certain domains and return custom IPs and forward other requests to our ISPs DNS servers. We were thinking about using either PowerDNS or MyDNS because they support MySQL out of the box and we need to change the list of domains to filter quite often. Thanks a lot for your help! :)

• Install compiled linux program on multiple computers

  I'm sorry if this sounds like a silly question, but when I compile something on linux using the usual "./configure, make, make install" steps, how can I install the programs on other servers without having to recompile? I am trying to avoid having to install the build tools on production servers, however I need the latest version of a particular piece of software, so using RPMs isn't an option in this case.   We've a lot of Volume Licences left, but the License Server apparantly doesn't use them. Instead it issues Temporary Per Device CAL's. Which is a bit odd off course...   Is there a recommended average CPU threshold in running Windows boxes based on experience in other shops? Background: We are running with Windows Server 2003 32-bit OS. Servers are handling a major enterprise-level web application suite with a high frequency of small transactions mixed in with much larger transactions - overall average is 13ms. Our average overall CPU utilization of the Windows servers are ~60% during prime-shift. And we question at what level does the Windows OS begin to shimmy on the CPU scheduling road? Thanks.
